{Dark Plot Bunny}
Made whilst listening to Under The Tree.
It was the crying that finally broke him. Their cries, the mourning of his friends, mourning their own. All because he couldn't bring himself to question why the one he sought was amongst the ranks of sketchy company. Of course, the guilt weighed heavy in his heart as well.
Pyrrha…
Glynda…
Port…
Ozpin…
Even poor Jaune…
"Jaune didn't deserve this, not what he did to him, that bastard." The blonde in the woods thought mournfully, having walked to clear his head. Instead, it found itself filled with the thoughts of dead. "All he wanted was to save Pyrrha, and he…he got cut down because I allowed myself to be vulnerable!"
The briefest flash of red filled the azure eyes of the blonde as he came to a large oak tree. It had been years since he had came to this world, in a flash of light and booming thunder. A kind, elderly, woman had saved him from life threatening injuries. Nursed him back to health in her little cottage. A woman who…who…
Granny Maria…
The broken tears flooded his eyes. He had been barely conscious when the deed had been done. That person, someone he considered his best friend, tearing through her chest with crackling hands of lightning.
Why had he done? All because a wicked witch promised a way home for them both.
Both…
Both of them?
The blonde's eyes found their own reflection in a puddle of water. He saw himself, realizing with disgust that he was thinking of him. His…his mortal enemy in such a way. To think of him as a friend, somehow, despite all of this.
To try and reason against logic that he was reachable.
A fool…that's all he was, a bloody fool!
Roaring out, slamming a fist into the image, adding power unintentionally. The fist collided with the water, slamming down, and breaking the dip into the ground which it form into spiderweb cracks. It didn't stop at one punch, it was another, and another.
Eventually screams flowed from his mouth. Red energy seeping around him. The thoughts of his once friend, turned hated enemy, the very person who butchered his true friends…in his name. It disgusted him, he disgusted himself. Of course he had wanted to go home, and when that friend had told him, he had readily agreed to join him when the time came.
He didn't think it meant this!
Never this…
"Sasuke Uchiha!" He screamed with rage, throwing his head up as the clouds barked with thunder and lightning. He stood up, covered in mud and fresh rain that slowly starting to wash it away "I hope you can hear me, you bastard!"
"I'll find you! I will find you, and you I will kill you!" The blonde raged with fury filling his eyes. The sclera slowly blackening as darkness covered his heart. "To hell with my home, to hell with being Hokage! My one true goal, my one true want now is to kill you!"
"You hear me, you duck-haired piece of shit!" The blonde raged around the area around him. His hands coming to his face as his eyes burned. The roar that escaped his lips after wasn't just his own. No, inside, a demon joyously stirred to life as it tendrils of hatred connect with the blonde's own. "You had it all, you had all it and threw it away!"
"Give into the hatred, and let us play our part." The dark voice of the nine-tailed fox demon in his head whispered. Calling to him, encouraging him to give into it all. On the blonde's right palm, a light formed into a small sphere…that slowly turned black. "Let us show them all, those wicked people who took your precious ones away."
"Why they never leave a demon to rest."
What was pants of rage slowly formed into something more. It was astounding how calm he felt now. Letting go of his own wants, desires, and now the unobtainable dream of being Hokage. He didn't want it if it meant sacrificing more innocent people. No, he wouldn't take the lives of his own friends for it, and as he looked toward where they were.
Past the forest, inside of the house. Ruby, Yang, and the others. His heart became shrouded in darkness, darkness that would protect himself from what he was about to do. To protect them, to make sure they wouldn't find themselves in harms away again.
A conjuring of himself appeared. It had done so before, during the times he was unconscious due to a chidori burying into his chest for the second time. It nearly had killed him this time, and with it, he had time to talk to The Nine Tails, whether he had wanted to or not.
It wasn't for justice that had drove him to walk towards it…
Not for his own sake, definitely not for the idea of finding alternative, or the desires of a deranged lunatic who was lost. The blonde faced his own devil, his mind seeing the image. It smiled at him, and for once he smiled back at it. Both agreed, both flowed into each other.
Thusly the real Naruto stood in the rain, a sunlight filled heart eclipsed by the rage within.
{Taiyang's House.}
[Three Hours Later.]
Ruby Rose was sitting on the couch with her sister Yang when the door opened. It was Naruto, who was soaking wet. The blonde teen stood there. Something was different about him, but Yang nor Ruby could figure it out. The handicapped blonde on the couch leaned forward.
"Hey man, you good, we heard yelling before the storm?" She asked him, and then watched as he simply walked over towards them. "Hey, are you okay?"
"Ruby, Yang, where is Maria's mask?" Naruto asked them simply stared at them, darkened blue eyes filling them a cold chill. "I just want to see Granny's mask, I miss her."
"Oh…it's in here." Ruby got up, Naruto following her. "Dad made sure to polish it, Maria added those whisker marks on it, she was…a good person."
"Yeah, the best." Naruto watched as Ruby got the mask out. Handing it to him, and he slowly rubbed his thumb across it. "Thank you guys, for everything, especially for not hating me."
"It wasn't you that did that. That lunatic did it, and when everyone's ready, we'll get our pay back." Ruby stated with gusto, trying to cheer him up. It failed, and she looked into his eyes. "Something happened out, didn't it?"
"You know you can tell me anything, right, you're my friend."
A small tear dropped from Naruto's left eye. He flickered a struggling smile, and gave her one of the last smiles he could muster. That made her smile, closing her eyes like she usually did for the briefest second when doing so. A brief second was all he needed.
The chop on her small neck was swift, powerful but not deadly. He caught her before she could fall onto the floor. Simply placing her into a chair. She had made a little squeak when it had happened. Enough to alert Yang, or perhaps that's what it meant to be sister.
To know when a loved one was hurt.
Yang charged into the kitchen, noticing Ruby knocked on the chair and Naruto.
"What the fuck did you do?! Why, Ruby?!" Yang screamed, only for Naruto's eyes to turn red. "What the…those eyes…they're not human."
"I've kept one last secret from you guys. It wasn't that I trusted you, it was because I just wanted to feel like I belonged. In keeping it, I lost everything." Naruto slowly walked over toward Yang, who didn't back down. "Know this Yang, these last three years were the best years of my life."
"I refuse to let people I cherish most die for me again, no more."
"Why'd you hurt Ruby, huh, why?!" Yang screamed out at him. She threw a punch that was easily caught by him. She struggled, but slowly started to break down. "Why, Naruto, why would you do that?! Don't know what she feels for you, you big idiot, what the hell ever were you to us?!"
"Because you were always stronger, Yang. I didn't want to see her hurt, not like before." Naruto gently squeezed her one hand. One last smile mustered onto his lips. "When you both wake up, there'll be letter on the table…do what you will."
He slammed the fist into her stomach. The force enough to instantly knock her out.
"I am your friend…" He whispered as her consciousness faded. He gently put onto the opposite chair. It was scene that if one came into ignorant would assume both had just fallen asleep. "This isn't goodbye, this is a see later."
"I hope that I can come back later…"
Naruto walked over to the desk nearby. Getting a piece of paper and pen. He retrieved his own Konoha headband. Yang, groaning, lulled to side and began to snore. Naruto smiled and sighed, having imbued some of his chakra into the attack to help heal any damage. He looked over to Ruby, and found tears flowing from his eyes.
Finishing the letter, he briefly started toward the kitchen's entrance before stopping. He walked back toward Ruby, kissing her on the forehead.
"Sorry, Ruby."
Naruto made it out of the house, holding onto the mask. He saw the storm begin to grow in ferocity. He slowly pulled the mask over his face, his red eyes glowing in the eyeholes as he took a deep breath. Letting go of the guilt, filling his heart with rage, Naruto stared toward the forest.
"Now Sasuke…here I come."
