Harry calmly sat down on a sofa in the expansive library upon returning from his visit to the healer. He had never really had the option to work during the summer to feel sufficiently prepared for the school year. He was determined that he would do better now. So, he had decided it was time to take a page from Hermione's book rather than Ron's. Ronald Weasley had been his first friend ever, and while the boy had been always at his side over the last year, he also was not always the best influence when came to study habits, and manners. He was stating his new endeavor with reading his first- and second-year texts for review. At the table in front of the sofa Harry had set up a pile of parchment and a set of ink and quills. For the first time in his life Harry Potter truly studied. He had chosen to start with transfiguration, and he spent hours taking notes on the governing laws of the subject matter keeping those together much as he had seen Hermione do.

Next, he worked his way through the different spells that they had worked on and even took notes on the ones that they had skipped during the year that looked interesting. He did not come up for a break until he realized that it was getting close to dinner and the Greengrass's house elf Lacey appeared. The little elf curtsied low and squeaked, "Dinner is ready."

When Harry walked in, he was pleasantly surprised to learn that the family was all gathered again for the evening meal. He did not hesitate this time to dish up food on to his place. As they ate, he noticed there was another girl who was a year younger than Daphne. Harry blushed feeling a little rude for not knowing the other girl. Harry took a courage breath and addressed the younger girl, "Hello! I am Harry and you are?" The younger girl just smiled, "Pleasure to meet you, Harry. I am Astoria Greengrass. Daphne's smarter sister." The girl stuck her tongue out at Daphne who just rolled her eyes. Looking at Harry Daphne said, "You will have pardon her lack of manners. She spent the few days at the MacMillan's." The way that Daphne said that seemed to infer that something should be understood just by her saying that. Harry, not wanting to appear ignorant, simply nodded. Changing topic Daphne inquired, "What have you been up too since you got back?" Harry smiled, and explained, "I decided that since I finally have time to read my texts before school I am going to review and take fresh notes from first year transfiguration and charms. Then start on my summer homework later this week. Once that is over perhaps there will be time to read ahead for this year. Amelia and Cyrus were looking at him stunned but nodded their approval. Amelia and her husband exchanged glances before she asked, "Why just those two classes?" Harry shrugged last years defense teacher was useless and Snape hates me, so there is not much of a point in trying hard in his class." Cyrus looked at him as though weighing what Harry had said, that maybe but reading and taking notes from the text may still prove beneficial eventually, herbology too. The Greengrass family's business is potions and potion ingredients." Harry nodded and considered what the older wizard had suggested, he had a point.

After dinner Harry went and worked his way through his charms textbook and began reworking his notes. While he was doing this he chuckled as he heard Mrs. Greengrass chide Daphne, "you could do with some review yourself, and do not try and tell me that you've done your summer homework already." It was around nine o'clock when Harry began to get tired and made his way to put his work up on the desk in his room and get ready for bed.

The following morning a beautiful eagle owl swooped in and delivered two official looking letters to Mr. Greengrass. Harry and the girls watched as Mr. Greengrass read the missive, and his expression was one that hard for Harry to make out. The rest of the breakfast went on in companionable silence until everyone had their fill. As Mr. Greengrass rose from his seat he gestured for Harry and Amelia to follow him into an elegantly furnished home office. The door closed behind them, and Cyrus applied a couple of basic privacy wards before he began. The older wizard's face was grave as he spoke, "the investigation went well according to Madame Bones, and you will not need to return to your relatives. The people were clearly guilty and unrepentant. They are being held for trial as we speak." Harry nodded glad to hear the news, and relaxed a little in his seat letting out a breath that he had not even realized that he was holding. Harry nervously asked, "Have they made any progress figuring out who my guardian was supposed to be and how I came to be at the Dursley's?" At this question Cyrus schooled his features and had to use his occlumency skills to stop himself from giving the wrong impression before he spoke, "That is just the thing Harry. All Dumbledore ever was willing to tell people is that you were safe and fine. Well…obviously he was wrong about that. According to Gringotts your parents will was never even read. The guardianship list that your parents provide for in it they said, includes individuals who are for one reason or other incapacitated. There is one option that is still available. Harry looked at him eager to hear who. Cyrus pressed on taking another deep breath, "the option is to stay with us." Harry smiled, and gave each of them a hug, and then went to begin working on his summer homework.

Meanwhile, Cyrus began to work on formalizing guardianship of Harry with both the bank and ministry. It had been unnerving to realize that Harry's guardians had all been indisposed to in one way or other. What was even more unnerving was his discovery that James and Lily had listed them as guardians. It was like they had known that they might need him hidden with people who were not as obviously connected to them. As he spent the day dealing with people in various departments at both the ministry and the bank, he got even more suspicious of how Harry hand been cared for and managed up to this point.

In the bank he learned from Ragnok, "The boy never responds to summons and has not even been brought in to get his family ring. According to Griphook, the goblin king informed Cyrus Hagrid was the one to escort Harry to diagon alley and the bank and had been in quite a hurry." The fact that Harry had not been getting statements and summonses from the bank was highly illegal and unethical and so whoever was interfering in these matters may also have been stealing.

As Cyrus waited at the ministry for the clerk to copy the paperwork and stamp it finalizing the guardianship. Arthur Weasley happened to be by and upon hearing Harry's name being mentioned in the guardianship quay. He came over, "your taking guardianship of my youngest boys best friend?" Cyrus sized up the man, "If your boy is friends with Harry Potter, then yes, I am. The boy deserves to be better cared for whoever left him with those muggles was not looking after his best interests." A look of confusion crossed Mr. Weasley's face and then the man kindly begged his pardon and left back to his office. The paperwork done Cyrus returned home to lean back in his office chair and call for tea.
