"-Ugh, just when I thought this city couldn't get any grimier.-" Cyber muttered as she and Spike entered the mid-town alleyway Shelly had informed them of. According to her, a lot of under-the-radar dealings happened in this particular corner. Salvaged Egg Tech, cheaper(and oftentimes below competitive standards)Extreme Gear parts...Bar furniture replacements. Anything you could want, really.
And it all came from this one nasty jerboa named Slider. His green fur seemed matted and discolored by the filth he currently resided in, and the state of his teeth made Cyber happy she lacked a full sense of smell. His shoes and gloves were a hodge-podge of various bits and pieces, yet his white shirt somehow managed to get by with only one grease stain marring its otherwise decent condition. Noticing the two approaching, the "entrepreneur" before them left some customers to browse his wares while he gave the two women his undivided attention. "Why HELLO there, young lassies! Can't say I've ever seen the likes of YOU hanging 'round! So, whaddya need?"
"Information." Spike replied. "About certain...Customers you may have encountered recently." Slider furrowed his brow. "Oh, lassie, that type'a info don't come lightly in this business." He looked at Cyber's mechanical bits somewhat slyly. "Although...I'm sure there are a few trades to be made."
Seeing how uncomfortable Cyber felt after the jerboa's stare, Spike motioned him closer, then whispered something in his ear that Cyber couldn't quite make out. Whatever it was made his eyes widen, though, and she swore the guy started to sweat afterwards. "Um, right. That...That works, too. Lay it on me."
Cyber's eyes projected a hologram of various Dingo Squad members. "Make an interesting trade with any of these guys recently?" Spike asked. Slider took a moment, then shook his head. "Nah. I mean, I've seen them 'round, but they're pretty low-level. Just salvage a bunch of Badniks ol' blue boy got a good bounce on." Nervously, he motioned back into his shop, towards a cloaked figure. "You could ask, ah...Personally, if you catch my drift." Cyber and Spike nodded, before silently approaching the cloaked figure. "Hey, you got a minute?"
The cloaked figure only briefly acknowledged Spike, before hurriedly taking a great leap to a nearby wall and using the claws in his gloves to begin scaling it to the top of the buildings over the alleyway. "Could they do that last time you met them?"
"-No, but we WERE in a desert.-" Cyber said offhandedly, before grabbing Spike's hand and using the Boost Burst function of her Wispon to ascend into the sky, and divebomb onto the rooftop just as the figure made his way to the top. Spike fired her Wispon at him, but he managed to dodge it before brandishing a weapon of his own, some type of electric stun baton. He lunged straight for Spike, but Cyber quickly swooped in and blocked the first strike, before getting him to back up by blocking each subsequent strike with her arms.
But her luck didn't last for long as he finally got in a lucky strike to her chest, actually managing to somewhat stab through and send a shock before he withdrew it. Spike got up next to Cyber as the canary's vision began getting blurry. "Cyber? Are you okay?"
"-Heart...Out of rhythm...Need reboot...-" Cyber sputtered out, barely staying conscious because of the arrhythmia caused by the shock. "Well, how do we DO that?" Spike asked. "-Back...-" Cyber said as her eyes became listless, and she stopped responding. "Cyber? CYBER!" Spike shouted. "WHAT DO I DO?"
The cloaked figure, undeterred, lunged towards the two with his weapon, before being stopped by an out-of-nowhere mechanical fist to his face that knocked him out instantly. Spike looked up in shock as a figure with cybernetic arms and legs stood before her. She could tell by the black tail feathers peeking out from his support suit that he was some kind of bird, but the helmet on his head obscured what type he exactly WAS. However, his mechanical, yellow eyes sent a chill down her spine as he looked over at her.
"What a waste of my time." He muttered in a very haughty tone, before leaning down and pressing one of Cyber's back panels, revealing a series of small buttons to help with various functions. Casually, he pressed a big red one with a heart logo on it, which sent a small shock that quickly brought Cyber's heart back into its proper pattern. Seeing that his work was done, the figure simply walked over to the edge of the building and stepped off, using rockets in the bottom of his feet to slow his descent towards the street below.
"Wait!" Spike called out, to no effect.
"-...Spike? What's going on?-" Cyber asked, as she groggily got to her feet. "-Who are you talking to?-" Spike looked at Cyber for a moment, then back at where the mysterious cyborg had just been moments before. "I'll tell ya later."
