Spike snuck her way carefully into the main office of Xenia. Well, she presumed it was her office, anyway. Head honchos tended to prefer the biggest, but also most private, spaces in a building, and this seemed to be it.
Curling up into a ball before gently pushing herself forward, the hedgehog managed to quietly slip past any security lurking around and enter through the open door, soon spotting the Wispons and their Wisps in deployment capsules just hanging around on a desk. She got up from the floor and tip-toed her way over to them. "Hey guys, hope I didn't leave you waiting too long." She quietly joked as she approached, noticing the translator nearby and placing it into her ear.
But Roxanne was frantically waving at her, motioning to Spike that something was right behind her. She got the message just as Xenia lunged at her with a sword, just barely grazing her arm...And leaving a hole in her jacket.
"HEY! I LIKE this thing!" Spike yelled, before dodging yet more attempted strikes from Xenia. "How did you get out!?" The dingo yelled. "Oh, you know, a bit of feminine ingenuity, spot of elbow grease...And hey, the looks don't hurt, either."
To Spike's surprise, Xenia actually chuckled a bit at her quip. "Useful traits, I suppose. You seem different from most that we encounter...There could be a place for you in the Dingo Squad."
"Really, girl? You kidnap my friends, chain me up, then make me a job offer?" Spike scoffed. "You know, I normally like to play things a little rough, but...Eh, you're just not my type."
Xenia hung her head for a second, before pointing her blade back in Spike's direction. "I suppose you can't blame me for trying, as I AM my father's daughter!"
But before she could use her blade any further, Cyber came swinging in on a crane cable and smashed through a nearby window overlooking the facility, knocking Xenia back. "-THAT IS THE STUPIDEST THING I'VE EVER DONE, BUT IT WAS AWESOME!-" Cyber exclaimed as she approached Spike. "-Wait, did you actually understand what I just...?-"
"Yeah, I got it." Spike said, motioning to her ear, then freeing the Wisps from their deployment capsules and grabbing her Wispon. "You about ready to blow this popsicle stand?"
Cyber grabbed her own Wispon and loaded it up in response. "-Totally!-"
Xenia struggled to get up, a limp in her gait from the side where the crane struck her. The two turned to face her as she did so, but even she knew that she was in no shape to take them on now. "We shall meet again." She spat, before dropping some kind of smoke bomb and disappearing.
Later, Spike dropped Cyber back home. The Restoration, finally doing their job in this whole mess, had taken over recovery duties from the two, taking in ECS Units for repair and medical care, comforting Wisps the Dingo Squad had broken, and of course, jailing any members they had caught(which were quite a few). The two women knew that Xenia was still out there, but whenever she chose to strike, they'd be ready.
Cyber sat quietly in Raccoon's room, watching him as he slept after having returned from his and Jack's Chao Scouts trip some hours before. He was sleeping fairly soundly in his bed with Lady Chao held tightly to his side. Cyber herself was bushed from the night's activities, but she wanted to be ready to be there for him if he needed her. No matter what happened in the future, she would be there for her friend.
No, not just her friend. Her kid.
Jack entered the room, careful not to make too much noise...Not that it would be any louder than Raccoon's snoring anyway. "Hey, babe. Didn't know you were back." He whispered as he got into a chair next to her. "So...What did you two do?"
"-Oh, you know...-" She started, leaning her head onto his shoulder. "-Just girl stuff.-"
"Shelly! I'm home!" Spike called out as she entered the apartment they shared. Shelly came to the door, having changed from her work-clothes to a simple bathrobe. "Well, look at ya! Filthy creature, rollin' around in...What is that, oil?"
"You don't know the half of it, babe." Spike responded, removing her jacket. "Guess I might need to take a shower, but...I dunno...I'm feeling kinda tired."
Smiling, Shelly picked the hedgehog up and slung her over her shoulder. "Well, if you're so tired, why don't I help ya scrub?"
The two women laughed amongst themselves as Shelly carried Spike to the bathroom for a nice, pleasant evening together.
Well, that's a wrap on Team Wolf and friends for season 1, but before they continue into season 2, tune in later this year for their appearances in the massive 9-part event, "Sonic the Hedgehog: Infinite Returns!"
