Zane's POV

I ended my turn with a card face down.

"Your Moonstone Dragon may have sent my Dark Magician to the graveyard but I plan on bringing him back"

Yami then played Monster Reborn.

Oh crap, I thought as Dark Magician returned to the field.

"Your Poison Wyvern is my next target! Dark Magician eliminate Poison Wyvern!" Yami shouted. Yami's monster obeyed and Poison Wyvern was destroyed taking my life points down to 1600. My opponent put a card face down and his turn concluded.

"Your Moonstone Dragon won't be able to protect you for long" Yami stated with a smirk.

"We'll see about that" I replied after making my draw. "I think it's time to meet another one of my dragons!"

I played Fire Wyvern in attack mode and its attack points were 1800. It was black with red wing membranes and frills. I eyed the remaining Magical Hats and decided to attack the one closest to Yami. Fire Wyvern released its flames upon the hat and I smirked as Gamma the Magnet Warrior was sent to the graveyard leaving Yami with 2700 life points.

Damn it he may have a trap but Moonstone is the only monster on the field that can defeat Dark Magician.

"Moonstone attack Dark Magician!"

My dragon obeyed and unleashed its Mirror Flare.

"I don't think so my friend reveal face down card Magical Cylinder!"

"Sorry, but Moonstone isn't going anywhere just yet!"

I revealed Counter-Counter and Magic Cylinder was sent to the graveyard.

Erin's POV

"That was close," Mokuba said.

"Yes, it was that move by Zane was smart" Kaiba agreed. "But knowing Yugi he has something planned to get rid of Moonstone Dragon"

I mentally agreed with Kaiba on that one. I looked at my brother and mentally wished him luck. The others cheered for both Zane and Yami. And so was I in my mind.

Zane's POV

"You are a worthy opponent Zane" Yami complimented. "But I'm afraid it's time to bid your Moonstone Dragon farewell"

I mentally swore as he played the magic card Magician's Curse. This card allowed him to automatically summon Dark Magician Girl and weaken any monster of mine by 1000 attack points. Dark Magician Girl appeared next to her teacher and she shot me a sympathetic wink.

"I choose to use Magician's Curse on your Moonstone Dragon!"

Moonstone unleashed an unhappy roar as its attack points went to 1900. Dark Magician Girl destroyed Moonstone and then Fire Wyvern was sent to the graveyard by Dark Magician leaving me with 700 life points left. It was now my turn and after making my draw I knew this duel was done. I had no monsters strong enough to enough to take down both of his magicians and no magic or trap cards to help me.

Erin's POV

You did good bro I thought as I realized Zane was finished.

Zane's POV

"I surrender" I informed Roland placing my hand on top of my duel disk. "The odds ran out for me in this duel"

Roland nodded and declared Yami the winner. The others cheered and I gave Erin a glance. She beamed at me with pride and I smirked back at her before making my way towards Yami.

"Take care of this card for me," I told Yami as I handed over Moonstone Dragon.

"You have my word that I will" Yami promised before he offered me his hand and I placed mine in it.

After The Duel.

Erin's POV

There was to be another intermission before the next duel. All that was left was Yami Marik, Kaiba, the mysterious eighth duelist, and Mai. Without warning a strong force slammed me against the closest wall and I couldn't move.

"I was hoping to catch you alone Little Fox," Yami Marik said as he approached me.

"F**k you" I spat. "What do you want with me?"

Marik's dark half chuckled before placing a few fingers underneath my chin making me look at him.

"My dear your heritage is what I'm after" he then raised the Millennium Rod and it glowed.

The same pain I felt from dealing with the Rare Hunter pierced my mind.

"Resist all you want Little Fox but your mind will be mine as will your power of your Nine-Tailed Fox blood"

"My power belongs to me and me alone asshole" I sneered before a scream of agony escaped my lips.

Out of nowhere Zane appeared and punched the ever-living crap out of Marik in his face. The pain in my mind disappeared and I was freed from the Millennium Rod.

"Touch my sister again and I'll end you" Zane hissed. His claws were out and he was pissed.

"So come to join your sister?" Yami Marik asked. The spirit then growled before wiping the blood away from his lip. "You'll pay for that"

"And what could a mere spirit do against a Nine-Tailed Fox? Mind you human we are more powerful than you" Zane stated.

"True but I can still send one of you to the Shadow Realm due to the human side you both wield"

Yami Marik then pointed his Millennium Rod at me.

"With Erin gone, I can take her Valyrian Deck for my own"

"Send me instead" Zane volunteered "And you leave my sister the hell alone"

"What? No, Zane!" I protested.

Zane looked at me.

"I'm sorry little sister but keeping you safe is all that matters.

Tears came to my eyes when he said that.

"How sweet very well then"

Yami Marik pointed the Millennium Rod at Zane and I watched in horror as I felt the magic from the Millennium Item come to life. A golden blast hit my brother and a few seconds later Zane began to fall. I caught him before he could hit the floor and I saw my brother's eyes were closed. His soul was also gone.

An inhumane scream left my lips along with a loud wail as I tried to shake Zane awake knowing he wouldn't.

"Another soul for the Shadow Realm"

That made me angrier than beyond words and I quickly placed Zane's unconscious form down before I stood up and faced Yami Marik.

"You bastard"

I was about to make this evil male pay but before I could launch myself onto Yami Marik strong arms held me back.

"Let me go!" I shrieked fighting whoever was holding me back. "He needs to pay for hurting my brother!"

"No Erin" Kaiba told me.

"So you come to help then Kaiba?"

"Get out of my sight before I disqualify you from the tournament Marik" Kaiba snarled. Yami Marik laughed before walking away.

"You son of a bitch!" I roared still struggling against Kaiba's hold.

"What on earth?!"

Roland and one of his colleagues arrived and they both paled at seeing Zane.

"Get Zane to his room and have the doctors tend to him" Kaiba ordered.

"Yes sir!"

I stopped struggling when the two men carefully grabbed Zane's arms and placed each one onto their shoulders. I was powerless as I watched my brother being carried off and more tears went down my face. Kaiba released me but then he gently took my wrist and guided me away.

My mate took us to my room and he got the door to open. Once the door was closed did I lose it.

"Why did you stop me from dealing with Marik?!"

I didn't care if I pissed Kaiba off.

"Because you would have done something you would have regretted later Erin" the CEO answered calmly.

"Because of him, my brother is f**king gone Kaiba!"

With a snarl, I began to pound my fists into his chest. Instead of getting angry, he let me hit him but what he did next made me stop. The CEO of Kaiba Corp drew me close and he wrapped his arms around me in an embrace.

"I'm sorry Erin, I'm sorry about what happened to Zane" he apologized. "Until he wakes up I'll keep you safe and if Marik or anyone else thinks about hurting you I'll make them pay"

My mate's hug made me feel safe but the reality of Zane being in the Shadow Realm made me start to weep uncontrollably. The entire time I wept Kaiba held me in his way as providing comfort.

Kaiba's POV

Erin stopped crying and I looked down to see if she was alright. Her eyes were closed and I knew she had fallen asleep. I kissed her forehead before gently scooping her into my arms. I walked to her bed and lay her on it. I then pressed the communicator on my jacket.

"Mokuba you there kid?"

"Yeah, I'm here Seto what's up?"

"Can you come to Erin's room? Something happened and I'll explain when you get here"

"On my way"

"Thanks, little brother I knew I could count on you"
