Chapter Two: Another Test
Sevent years later…
On the Zaxon Forum, A small trio of Zaxon members were huddled up, talking among themselves.
"Hey, have you heard about some of the account raiding's?" One of them asked.
"Oh yeah, Mephisto's been acting weird lately." Another said. "That's probably why there's been so many account raids."
"Man, Mephisto must be off his rocker." Another said.
Before they could continue, they notice the port for the server light up, before their eyes widened at who entered; the young man appeared to be seventeen years old, having a muscular build, blonde hair that reached his shoulders and blue eyes, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans and a pair of black and white sneakers, along with a black and blue arm brace wrapped around his right arm.
"Hey, isn't that guy…" One hacker said.
"Yeah, no doubt about it, that's Akihiko Kuremi!" Another said.
"One of Yuugo's top hackers!" Another said.
They watched him walk in, the blonde boy looking left to right before he was approached by someone; a young woman with light blue eyes, brown hair worn in a large odango, apparently formed by braids, and a small chest. She wore a yellow hairclip in the right side of the hair black and yellow cropped cheongsam, and a white and light blue jacket with a white losangle in the light blue part of the arm, and black gloves. The white and light blue parts of the jacket were separated by a blue borders. She wore a yellow cloth tied in the waist like a belt, black pants with a yellow vertical line on each side, the pants hugging her large butt and thighs, and black and white sneakers.
"Fei Wong Tomoe Ignacio!" One of the hackers gasped.
"Two elite members of Zaxon in the same spot!" Another said.
Akihiko watched Fei approach, the one quarter Brazilian woman looking up at him with a smirk.
"Nice of you to arrive, Aki-san.~" Fei said.
"I'm not one to keep the boss waiting." Akihiko stated. "Especially not you, Fei."
Smirking, Fei moved in and planted a kiss on Akihiko's lips, Akihiko reciprocating as their tongues wrestled in each other's mouths, Fei wrapping her arms around his neck, Akihiko wrapping an arm around her waist and his hand pressing against her thigh. The kiss lasted a little bit longer before they parted and approached the stage, their leader Yuugo standing upon the stage, the teenage boy having pale skin and grey eyes and white hair, wearing a white shirt with long sleeves and a ruffed hood, black pants, and white shoes with gray soles.
"Thank you for coming, Akihiko-san." The pale boy said with a smile.
"Anytime, boss." Akihiko nodded. "I assume you have another mission for me?"
"I do." Yuugo nodded his head. "As one of my trusted elite members, I need you to head down to Kowloon and hunt down an Eater that has been rumored to be running amuck. That way, we can put some minds at ease and hopefully ensure that Kowloon will be somewhat safer."
Akihiko felt himself tense up upon hearing the word 'Eater', feeling his muscles tense up and his fists clench tightly.
"Consider it done." Akihiko said, determination in his voice.
"Perfect." Yuugo said before turning to Fei. "Fei, go with him and watch his back, understand?"
"With pleasure." Fei said with a sly smile.
The mission set, Akihiko turned and walked on, with Fei following behind, the two leaving through the logout port, the other hackers looking on.
"Wow, those guys are so cool!" The first hacker said.
"Yeah, not to mention tough!" Another said.
"Wait…when were those two an item?!" A third asked.
Akihiko and Fei arrived at the first level of Kowloon, looking about and so far, they were the only ones in the area.
"Looks like we aren't the only ones who heard the rumor." Fei commented.
Akihiko said nothing, his eyes scanning his surroundings, looking out for anything that stood out, looking out for any danger…
Before the area shifted a bit, as an Eater came into view.
"Look what decided to drop in!" Fei remarked.
Akihiko glared at the Eater, more specifically the eye, seeing it was well intact.
"It's not the Eater with the cracked lens." He said as he cracked his knuckles. "But it'll make for a good workout."
"Think you can handle it?" Fei inquired, as though wanting to jump in on the action.
"Do not insult me by questioning my skills." Akihiko frowned, his glare not once leaving the Eater. "I can handle this one myself."
The Eater glowed, as though preparing to fight, Akihiko simply cracked his neck a few times before pulling out his digivice.
"Gaomon, Coronamon, Lunamon!" He called out. "Come on out!"
The screen on the digivice lit up, and out came his three Digimon companions, all ready to fight.
"You've been at this for a long time." Fei pointed out as she stood back with arms crossed. "Show me what you've learned."
Nodding, Akihiko held up his digivice, the screen glowing before he declared, "Time to evolve, my companions!"
Light emitted from the digivice as it then engulfed the digital monsters, increasing their size and changing their shape. Goamon changed into a much larger beast, a large blue Akita Inu dog with black nose and claws, fangs, yellow eyes, a white belly, thick light-blue mane with braids, white tail tip, feet tips, snout, inner ears, and a yellow cross-shaped mark in the forehead. He wore black belts and red and black boxing gloves on his front paws with his claws piercing through the gloves, white bandages on his legs, and red ribbons on his back. This is Goamon's Champion form; Goagamon.
Firamon was a Beast Digimon resembling a winged lion, being Coronamon's Champion form and, through digivolution, had gained flight and speed.
Lekismon was a Beastkin Digimon. The Champion form of Lunamon had gained astounding jumping ability, and uses its swift movements to toy with her enemies. Although her personality is as wavering as the phases of the moon, her appearance exuded a somewhat mystical air.
The three Champion level Digimon stood in front of Akihiko, all ready to fight this monstrosity.
"Show no mercy." Akihiko said coldly. "Tear it apart!"
The Champion Digimon jumped into action, not even giving the Eater a chance to fight back. Fei watched the carnage unfold, as Goagamon tore at the Eater with his claws, Firamon charging from the sky while his body was enveloped in flames, and Lekismon leaping high into the air and performing a dive kick.
Fei wasn't surprised, however, as she witnessed this level of brutality before, even after he first joined Zaxon, he'd always fight with such ruthlessness.
'His mom getting attacked really changed him.' She thought to herself, arms crossed. 'It's kinda scary, yet hot at the same time.'
The Eater was weakening, and Akihiko decided he had enough.
"Finish this." He commanded.
Nodding, Goagamon faced the beaten Eater, "Spiral Blow!" and a stream of powerful wind blew from his mouth, launching the Eater high up, and as it came down and rebounded off the ground, both Lekismon and Firamon appeared before it and charged up their elemental powers, the moon-based Digimon creating hypnotic water bubbles from the moon gloves on her hands, while the sun-based Digimon focused power into his forehead.
"Moon Night Bomb/Fira Bomb!"
Both launched their attacks at the Eater, dealing massive damage and deleting it.
Fei watched the fight end, Akihiko's partner Digimon going back into the Digivice.
"You've grown a lot, since you first joined up." She said. "You certainly don't hold back."
"I cannot afford to." Akihiko stated coldly. "Especially against those abominations."
"Understandable." Fei shrugged. "Still, the mission's done, Eater's toasted, and we can head back."
In agreement, the duo left Kowloon and returned to the Zaxon Forum server, meeting back with Yuugo.
"Job's done, Boss." Akihiko declared bluntly. "That Eater won't be feasting anymore."
"I knew I could count on you, Akihiko." Yuugo said with a smile. "As my Left Hand, you prove to go above and beyond my expectations."
"It was nothing." Akihiko shrugged. "I had no problem cleaning up messes, especially if an Eater is involved."
"I'm glad to hear it." Yuugo nodded. "At any rate, you are dismissed for the day." He then turned his attention to Fei, "I'd like you to stay, Fei, as we have things to discuss."
Nodding, Akihiko turned and left, logging out, leaving Fei alone with the Zaxon leader.
"How did he do?" He asked.
"He was quick and efficient." Fei stated. "He's already mastered Champion Digivolution and deleted the Eater with total brutality."
"And that's the issue, yes?" Yuugo inquired.
"It is." Fei frowned as she nodded. "While it has proven to be effective, Akihiko seems to get agitated and aggressive when an Eater is involved."
"It's understandable, given the circumstances." Yuugo admitted. "Still, I cannot afford my Hands to be needlessly brutal, especially if we are to establish good faith with others."
"I'll do my best to calm his nerves." Fei declared. "I adore him too much to left him fall down a dark path."
"And I'm counting on you to do so." Yuugo smiled. "Be his life raft; keep him from drowning."
Nodding, Fei soon left, leaving Yuugo to his thoughts.
After logging out, Akihiko walked down the street before arriving at Nakano Broadway, way through the first floor and stopping at the door to the Kuremi Detective Agency office. Pushing open the door, seeing his mother, Kyoko Kuremi, sat at her desk, typing away at her computer, as if she didn't hear her son enter the office.
Akihiko felt a wave of guilt rushing over him, feeling awful for what happened all those years ago.
"Hey mom." He finally said.
Kyoko looked up from her work and smiled, "Hello, Aki. Had a nice day out?"
"Yeah, like usual." Akihiko nodded. "How's work? Need any help?"
"No need, I've got it under control." Kyoko waved it off, turning right back to her computer. "Besides, don't you have friends to hang out with?"
Before he could even reply, Akihiko felt his phone vibrate, pulling it out to see a message from Fei.
Fei: Hey, Aki! Wanna stop by my place and watch some movies, just hang out?
"Go enjoy yourself." Kyoko said, almost commanding.
Confused yet not wanting to anger his mother, Akihiko simply left the office, replying yes to Fei before leaving the mall and back out onto the street.
'I will find a way to restore you, mother.' Akihiko thought to himself. 'I promise.'
And here's the newest chapter! I apologize for the delay, I've been busy with a mixture of personal life stuff and my other stories, but I'm still doing my best to update this too!
Again, I swapped out Aki's Digimon while keeping Gaomon, and giving him Coronamon and Lunamon. Side not, I don't understand why the game includes Lunamon but not Corornamon, it makes no sense! Hopefully, they'll include both in future games, because the two being my favorite Digimon, I also want to get the combined digivolution that is GraceNovamon.
