The sun hung high in the sky, casting its golden rays across the pristine beach. The sound of waves gently lapping against the shore was a soothing melody that harmonized with the laughter of vacationers. Among them were four figures who had just arrived: Cid and Claire Kagenou, along with Princess Iris Midgar and her younger sister, Princess Alexia Midgar.

As soon as their feet touched the warm sand, Cid made an immediate move to retreat. His eyes scanned the horizon for any possible escape route from the planned activities. "Alright, I've seen the beach. I'll be going now," he said, turning to leave.

But Claire was quick to grab his arm, her grip firm and unyielding. "Oh no you don't, Cid! We're here for some sibling bonding time," she declared, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Cid sighed, clearly uninterested. "Claire, I'm not really in the mood for this. Can't you just enjoy the beach with the princesses?"

Claire's eyes narrowed, her annoyance evident. "That's exactly why you need to stay. We never do anything together, and you always find a way to disappear. Not this time, Cid."

Princess Iris, watching the exchange, stepped forward with a gentle smile. "Come on, Cid. It won't be that bad. Let's enjoy this beautiful day together."

Princess Alexia chimed in, her voice playful. "Yeah, Cid. Besides, we have some fun activities planned. Like melon smashing!"

Cid's interest was clearly not piqued, but Claire's grip tightened, and he knew he had no choice. "Fine, I'll stay," he grumbled.

They moved to a designated area where a large, ripe melon sat on the sand, ready for the traditional beach game. Claire handed Cid a blindfold and a wooden stick. "Here, you'll go first."

Cid put on the blindfold, sighing again. "Alright, let's get this over with."

He spun around a few times as Claire guided him. "Now, try to hit the melon," she instructed, her voice laced with a hint of mischief.

Cid swung the stick wildly, missing the melon by a wide margin. The princesses laughed, and Claire smirked. "Not even close, Cid. My turn!"

Claire took the blindfold and stick, positioning herself confidently. As she spun around, Cid saw his chance to sneak away. He quietly stepped back, inching towards the path leading away from the beach.

Just as he thought he was free, Claire swung her stick—not at the melon, but directly towards Cid. "Where do you think you're going?" she yelled, abandoning the game to chase after him.

Cid ducked, narrowly avoiding the swing, and started running. "Claire, cut it out!"

The sight of Claire chasing Cid across the beach with a stick in hand was comical, to say the least. Iris and Alexia watched in amusement, shaking their heads.

Iris turned to Alexia, her expression thoughtful. "Do you think they're really siblings? They act more like a married couple with how they argue."

Alexia chuckled. "I've wondered the same thing. They definitely have a unique dynamic."

Meanwhile, Claire caught up to Cid, grabbing his arm again. "You're not getting away that easily. We're supposed to be bonding!"

Cid sighed, resigning himself to his fate. "Fine, fine. But can we at least do something less… violent?"

Claire smirked. "Alright, how about we all go for a swim instead?"

Cid reluctantly agreed, and the group headed towards the water. As they splashed and played in the waves, even Cid couldn't help but enjoy himself a little. As the group enjoyed their swim, the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting a warm, orange glow over the beach. The waves were gentle, and the laughter of beachgoers created a lively, relaxing atmosphere.

However, Cid saw his chance when Claire became engrossed in a conversation with Iris and Alexia. Slowly, he started to edge his way back towards the shore, intending to make a swift exit. He almost made it. Almost. But just as his foot touched the sand, Claire's voice rang out. "Cid! Where do you think you're going this time?" He froze, caught yet again. Before he could react, Claire lunged at him, grabbing his arm and dragging him back into the water. "You think you can just run off whenever you want? Not happening!"

Cid sighed, trying to reason with her. "Claire, can't we just take a break? We've been in the water for hours."

But Claire was beyond reason. Her frustration had reached its peak, and she wasn't about to let Cid off easy. "Oh, no. You're staying right here."

She pushed him under the water, holding him there for a few seconds before letting him up. Cid spluttered, wiping water from his face. "Claire, what the heck?"

The princesses watched in astonishment as Claire continued to dunk her brother, her patience clearly worn thin. Iris shook her head, incredulous. "I've never seen siblings behave like this. Are we sure they're not married?"

Alexia laughed. "They do have a certain… intensity, don't they?"

Cid finally managed to break free, gasping for breath. "Alright, alright, I get it! I'll stay!"

Claire crossed her arms, her eyes still narrowed. "Good. Now stop trying to escape and actually enjoy yourself."

With Claire's point made, the group continued their beach day. Despite the earlier tension, they found themselves relaxing again. The ocean's waves seemed to wash away the frustrations, and even Cid began to unwind.

Later, as they sat on the beach, watching the sunset, Iris turned to Claire. "You really care about Cid, don't you?"

Claire smiled, her previous annoyance fading. "Of course I do. He might be a pain sometimes, but he's my brother."

Cid, overhearing, couldn't help but smile slightly. "Yeah, yeah. I guess you're not so bad yourself, Claire."

Alexia nudged Iris, whispering, "See? They really do care about each other. They just have a… unique way of showing it."

"Not again, Cid!" Claire suddenly yelled.

Iris and Alexia jumped at the sudden commotion and turned to see Claire furiously shoving Cid's face into the sand, pinning him down with surprising strength.

"Claire, stop! You're going to suffocate him!" Iris exclaimed, rushing over.

Alexia followed, her eyes wide with concern. "Seriously, Claire, this is getting a bit much."

Cid's muffled protests could barely be heard as he struggled to free himself. "Claire, let me up!"

Claire finally relented, sitting back on her heels with a huff. "You keep trying to run away! I just want us to spend some time together!"

Iris and Alexia exchanged glances, both sweatdropping at the sight. It was clear that Claire's obsession with keeping Cid nearby was becoming a bit too intense.

Iris tried to be the peacekeeper. "Claire, we understand you want to spend time with your brother, but maybe you should ease up a little. You're scaring him."

Alexia nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Claire. It's obvious you care, but this might not be the best way to show it."

Claire sighed, looking down at Cid, who was now spitting out sand and glaring up at her. "I just... I don't want him to keep running away. We never get to do anything together."

Cid, finally free, sat up and wiped the sand from his face. "Claire, I get it. But you need to chill out a bit. You're acting like a maniac."

Claire's expression softened as she realized the truth in their words. "I'm sorry, Cid. I just... I don't want to lose you."

Cid's annoyance melted away, replaced by a rare moment of understanding. "You're not going to lose me, Claire. Just... give me some space, okay?"

Iris and Alexia watched the exchange, relieved that the tension was finally dissipating. Alexia leaned over to Iris and whispered, "Okay, maybe it's Claire who's being too obsessive."

Iris nodded, a small smile on her lips. "Definitely. But at least they're talking it out now."

"Yeah...for now."
