Stoick stared at the dragon lying in his and Valka's new bed. "That is not your bed." He complained. "You sleep outside in the stable with Skullcrusher. Only Dragon allowed in this house is Toothless. The rest of ye stay outside where you belong"

Cloudjumper just stared at the huge hairy human before him, unmoving. The Viking had no sway about where he would sleep. This bed smelled like his rider, so that's where he would sleep

"Val," Stoick called out. "Please get yer dragon out of here. I want to catch some shut-eye before going out on patrol with our son"

Valka walked into the bedroom and had to suppress her laughter at the sight of the too-big dragon trying to curl up in the bed. "Oh, Cloudjumper. You know you don't fit in here. Why don't you go sleep by the fire with Toothless."

The Stormcutter looked at his human and let out a soft warble before he carefully climbed off the bed. As he passed the two humans, he snorted a puff of smoke in Stoick's face then bumped his head affectionately against Valka.

Stoick let out a small cough while waving away the smoke. "What is yer dragon's problem with me? I make sure he gets some of the best fish in the area. Built him a brand-new saddle and stable. I even let him eat off my plate. Not willingly mind you, but come on. I'm the former Chief for cryin' out loud."

Valka gave her husband a peck on the cheek. "Well maybe if you hadn't thrown an axe at his head 20 years ago, he might be more friendly toward you. I'd try apologizing."

Stoick stared at his wife then shook his head. "Nah it has to be something else."

"Stormcutters have long memories and have no issue holding grudges," Valka explained. "You need to go fix your mistake before he decides to roast you."

Stoick hesitated for a moment. "Fine. I'll go say sorry. Seems to be a common occurrence around here." He walked out of the room and over to where the mighty beast lay in the living area.

The former chief sat down in his chair and faced the dragon who was looking right back at him, waiting.

"Look dragon... Cloudjumper," Stoick began. "I am sorry for throwing that axe at yer head. I was just trying to protect my family."

The Stormcutter continued to stare at him, studying the man's face, for a good moment. The dragon stood up, took a step closer to Stoick, and then proceeded to lick him. After covering the hairy Viking in dragon drool, he bounded back into the bedroom and climbed right back into the bed.

Valka just burst out laughing. "I guess he really likes the bedroom."
