Luigi vs. Ganondorf: Bout 3
Healing Room A
The green bask of the Healing Plant's aura, Daisy's immediate embrace.
This is what heaven has to feel like, if there is such a place Luigi thought.
"You did it baby," Daisy said, her voice muffled in his chest, "Just one more."
"I know, and I've got it," Luigi assured her, stroking her hair.
"You know you're my hero right?" she asked, still buried deep in his chest.
Luigi blushed, "Y-yeah,"
"Good," Daisy sighed, "I love you."
"Love you too honeybuns," Luigi said.
"You've got this," Daisy said.
Luigi nodded, "Yeah, I know."
For the next thirty seconds, the couple sat in silence. The lights clicked on.
"We will be immediately heading to the next bout," announced the disembodied voice of Mills, "The first stage is Wii Fit Studio, but the second is a mystery "
Finally, Daisy dislodged her head from his chest, popping up right.
"Shit," Daisy whined, stomping on the floor, "I hate that you have to go,"
"Next time you see me," Luigi said, "I'll be a semi-finalist, so it'll be even cooler,"
"I have no doubt in my mind sweetie,"
With those encouraging words, Luigi disappeared.
Healing Room B
While Luigi basked in his idea of heaven in the next room, Ganondorf was trapped in his personal vision of Hell, having to listen to Wario talk.
"YOU-A HAD-A HIM ON ZE ROPES IN THE FIRST BOUT, WHAT IN ZE BLUE SHELL HAPPENED OUT THERE!
"No doubt his woman had something positive to say,"
Wario's purple, bloodshot face suddenly returned to his natural color, a sinister smile stretching the jowls on his face to their maximum.
"The princess, eh?" Wario purred, "I have an idea. Just use your power like last round. If you don't advance, it's fine, Sephiroth and I will take care of things."
"What does that mean?" Ganondorf demanded.
"Don't worry," Wario said, "Just do what you do best. You'll get your split and more, trust me."
Ganondorf nodded warily as the lights came on.

Ganondorf disappeared. Now that he was sure the cameras were off, he opened his communicator. Mona's face appeared.
"Yes honey pumpkin?" she cooed.
"Who was that lawyer that was all over the TV when we were last out? The one that prosecuted Mario on Isle Delfino?"
"Lycurgus Shrum," Mona remembered.
"Text me his number, would you please?" Wario cooed back, "I've got a call to make."

The two completed their entrances simultaneously, and much faster than they had before.

The two assumed their combat stances

Each rocked slightly as they stood, amped to get started.
GO!
As they had the previous two bouts, the two charged each other, but Ganondorf swung his sword over his head and down in one solid movement, catching Luigi by surprise.
"And that's 25 percent damage right off the bat," Cranky announced.
Luigi rebounded on a platform above them. Ganondorf jumped to meet him, each of them firing off a barrage of flipping kicks on each other.
"You were talking about ladder combos earlier!" 9-Volt said, "Competitive players are eating tonight!"
"In my day we didn't even have combos," snapped Cranky, "They only exist because some goofball at Capcom messed up."
Luigi blocked Ganondorf's next flip kick with a clubbing blow to the head. The two floated down gently Ganondorf landing first and kicking Luigi in the chest as he landed. Despite the ferocity of the blow, Luigi rolled back, picking up an Assist Trophy.
"Yo!" greeted the automaton built to resemble the likeness of Knuckles the Echidna.
A sword slash knocked both plumber and echidna away, but the Knuckles Assist Trophy burrowed underground, hitting Ganondorf with an uppercut on his way up. Luigi jumped to him, but a Darkness Lunge snapped an unsuspecting Luigi into the Blast Zone.
Luigi: 2
Ganondorf: 3
Cranky cackled, "Look at ole Green Mario, getting sloppy because of that movie check. I got paid enough to put my son through clown college, and you don't see me…"
As soon as Ganondorf hit the ground, Knuckles borrowed from the ground once again, this uppercut putting Ganondorf in the top Blast Zone!
Luigi: 2
Ganondorf: 2
"...Slipping," Cranky finished, grumbling in embarrassment.
"And we're tied up," announced 9-Volt with sardonic glee.
As Luigi and Knuckles darted towards Ganondorf, an arch-shaped swing of his sword KOed Knuckles and sent Luigi up into the air. Just as Ganondorf alaunched Luigi again with a duplicate swing of his sword, the arena exploded in a blinding white light.
NEW STAGE: Pirate Ship
Music: Song of Storms
Luigi immediately jumped from the Revival Platform wailing on Ganondorf with running punches, Ganondorf clung to the stern of the boat helplessly as Luigi laid on the punches.
"Geez," Cranky audibly winced, "Look at that damage climb. I regret saying what I said earlier."
Luigi stopped the pummeling to grab an Assist Trophy as it fell from the sky. Unfortunately, that was the only opening the King of Darkness needed. A flip kick and a clubbing blow sent Luigi across the boat and into the salty water beneath. Luigi struggled against the current, finally at a safe enough distance to hop aboard, but a s second flip kick sent Luigi to the Blast Zone!

Ganondorf: 2
As Luigi jumped down to the main level of the ship, it happened to lumber past the infamous tower of cannons. A direct hit of colorful sulfur and gunpowder, plus a slice from Ganondorf's sword meant his damage was in the 60s immediately.
"Oof, tough break," 9-Volt groaned.
"Can we say that, or will that weird guido from Judgement Day sue us?"
"I looked it up myself, we're in the clear," 9-Volt joked, "My mother is very proud."
As Luigi recovered from the cannon fire, Ganondorf picked up a Star Rod that had fallen between them. Jabbing Luigi in the chest, Luigi once again found himself at sea. But just as the saltwater soaked his overalls, the arena exploded in a white light.
NEW STAGE: Wii Fit Studio
Music: Skateboard Arena (Free Mode)
Salty, warm water replaced itself with a rubber gym floor just as a Smash Ball appeared. Luigi began to wail on it with punches just as Ganondorf launched a blast from the Star Rod at it The Star Rod cracked it, but Luigi's last punch broke it.
"DAMN YOU," roared Ganondorf.
The Gerudo King charged, right into the suction of the Poltergust. With a pop, Luigi executed his Final Smash, hurdling Ganondorf into the Blast Zone1

Ganondorf leaped off of the Revival Platform, intending to hit Luigi with yet another shoulder barge, but a precisely timed Luigi Tornado sent Ganondorf away, long enough for Luigi turn and touch a Metal Box on the other side of the arena, encasing the plumber in metal. Ganondorf barged into him again, following that up with a boot to Luigi's nose, which didn't register at all. Flailing punches once again racked up Ganondorf's damage percentage. The king rolled backward, summoning his Smash Sheild, but a full powered Luigi Missile broke it immediately. As Ganondorf staggered, a Special Flag fell from the sky.
"That's destiny right there!" 9-Volt shouted as Luigi held the flag aloft.
"More like shoehorned-in comedy," Cranky whined.
Just as the old ape finished grumping, the flag popped out of existence

Ganondorf: 1
"Hey big man," Luigi said, "You just got Luigi'd. GREEN MISSILE!"
Ganondorf shook himself awake just to see his opponent careening towards him, a hot blast of fire sending him to the Blast Zone for the final time!
GAME!
"Bang Bang," Luigi said suavely, pointing finger guns as the splash screen declared the winner.
LUIGI WINS!
stood with Ganondorf and Wario in a tunnel.
"You clinched the first bout, but Luigi came back to punch his ticket to the semi finals. What happened out there."
"Luigi is a dangerous combination of ingenious trickster and brave warrior. Whoever faces him in the semi-finals has their work cut out for them."
An eerily zen Wario patted Ganondorf on the shoulder, and the two advanced up the tunnel.
Meanwhile, Rita stood with Luigi, Daisy's arms wrapped around his waist from behind.
"Luigi, you're the first of three to punch your tickets to the semi-final. How does it feel and what is the key to your success?"
"Well, the key to my success is the people of-a Sarasaland, the Mushroom Kingdom, and everywhere in between who believe in me. Not to mention my friends and loved ones. As far as how the matches went, I think I'm coming into my own with the items on high. Slipping out the back door with some powerful ace in the hole is how I dominate my bro's parties, and why I'm dominating here. Quinn, Cloud, Sephiroth, Red, as long as I've got an item in my hands, you're in trouble."
"Suck it," Daisy shouted.
Luigi opened his mouth, as if to speak, but then shut it. Daisy took her hands off of Luigi's waist, using one to cover her mouth and the other to take Luigi's hand as they walked up the tunnel.
Applause broke out as soon as they entered. Mario was the first to wrap his brother in a hug.
"Yo, I've been meaning to ask ya," Luigi whispered into his brother's ear, "How're the semis gonna work out. Me versus Red and the Final Fantasy boy that moves on gets a bye?"
"You'll see," Mario whispered back.
Luigi barely had time to process the chill that went up his spine as Mario said, "Alright-a, Intermission begins!"
