Dragnor: Apathy and Hatred
A Sudowoodo stepped out of the crystal hollow - and promptly took an Aura Sphere to the face.
He flew past a Lurantis, Driftblim, and Arcanine, who were too distracted by the soaring Rock-type to notice the psychic power that drifted in the air around them. The Bloom Sickle Pokémon was the first to turn back the way it'd come, finding a powerful Lucario standing there confrontationally. With a loud cry, Lurantis directed the other two to follow her forward, and they started to charge at him with angry cries.
Lucario grinned as they emerged fully from the hollow - and were promptly blasted by Hydreigon's Dragon Pulse, striking all three of them and leaving them reeling. The Lurantis gave an angry screech, raised one scythe... and was promptly bombarded by Gothitelle's Future Sight, knocking it out along with Driftblim. The Arcanine had more in it, charging at Lucario while wreathed in flame; Lucario only lunged forward to meet the charge, bombarding the Fire-type with Close Combat to finish it off even as the Flare Blitz connected with him.
Crystalline dust swirled around the four Pokémon, and they had vanished before it parted. Lucario's Mega Evolution subsided, and he turned to Ranmaru, who nodded with a sigh. "That makes six," he mused.
Gracia sighed, clapping her hands to dismiss the energies gathered around them. "Why the heck do they always come in groups of six, anyways?"
Ranmaru crossed his arms. "I wonder," he mused. "Perhaps..."
He trailed off as he saw a huge dark figure crossing the skies towards them. Gracia noticed it, too, starting in surprise. "Is that... the Black Yang?!"
Indeed it was; Zekrom descended in the clearing around the crystal where Dragnor Castle had been, touching down with a crackle of voltage. Oichi and Wigglytuff dropped down on one side; Driftwalker, Hatterene, and Iron Valiant descended on the other. The Silent Pokémon seemed to waver a bit as she touched down, and Valiant turned to her in concern before the voices from nearby drew the group's attention; "Lady Oichi!"
"Ranmaru! And... Gracia?" Oichi stepped forward as the two junior Warlords approached her, accompanied by Lucario, Gothitelle, and Hydreigon. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, sorry," Gracia snarked. "Ranmaru sent us a message, saying Lord Nobunaga was gone and hadn't come back. Father sent me here to back him up."
"I presume your arrival means some good news on that front?" Ranmaru mused, looking up at Zekrom.
The Black Yang gave a quiet cry as Oichi shook her head. "You could say that," she admitted. "Nō and Mitsuki were in Spectra Castle when the crystals appeared. Nobunaga saw it happen en route back, and he and Zekrom have been defending the front line in Spectra - single-handedly, without rest."
"What?!"
"We managed to put his fears to rest and get him to back off," Oichi insisted, "but it took its toll on him." She turned to Hydreigon. "He wanted you to go join him. Zekrom can fill in for you here."
The Brutal Pokémon looked relieved, breathing a sigh and then nodding before starting to fly off in the direction of Spectra.
Ranmaru sighed. "If you're here on your own," he observed, "I suspect Lady Nō and Mitsuki are not the only ones to fall victim to the crystals."
Oichi nodded. "Evia and Kaguya were taken, as well," she confirmed. "As were Shingen, Kenshin, Magoichi, Kai, and Hanzō."
With a hum, Ranmaru turned to her masked companion. "And you are?"
"Driftwalker," she introduced. "I've been a victim of these crystals before, when they appeared in my homeland. They sent me to another region - but they didn't hurt me, in and of themselves. I was able to make my way back, and confront the men responsible."
"The men responsible?" Gracia echoed. "Then there are people behind this."
Her words drew Driftwalker's attention. "This...? You know something more?"
Gracia nodded, turning to Oichi. "Lunala showed up in Nixtorm just after the crystals showed up," she explained. "Around the same time as all this chaos, something really big happened in Ultra Space."
Oichi started. "In Ultra Space?" she echoed.
"Not even in a specific world in Ultra Space," Gracia insisted. "They said it was in between. You know the weird rainbow lights when we went through the Wormholes? That's where it happened."
"Men responsible, attacking from Ultra Space?" Oichi muttered. She turned to Driftwalker. "Did you know about this?"
"Not in those words," Driftwalker admitted. "I felt some sort of extradimensional travel when I went to confront them before, but I didn't know it by 'Ultra Space'." She reached for her head. "At least... I don't think I did. I can't say that for sure. It's been so long..."
"So long?" Oichi echoed. "How old were you when-?"
"Don't worry your pretty little head about it."
The voice from nearby drew Oichi's attention, and she whirled around with a glare. "Takatora!"
A Glalie floated at the rogue Warrior's side; he was still sporting the same silver coat that he had worn as a messenger, though he was wearing a different, sleeker suit of armour underneath. Takatora's sword was gone, and his hands were instead closed on a pair of wind and fire wheels. His dark hair was streaked with white - whether by chemical or suffering Oichi couldn't say, though she doubted the power of the world had aught to do with it - and its slicked-back do seemed to have given way, leaving more of it hanging around his face.
With a huff, Takatora raised the wheel in his right hand before him. "It's not like you're still going to be around when G starts fighting, anyways."
"G?" Oichi echoed. "Then your master was responsible for this!" She drew her staff angrily. "What is the point of it all? What does he want?"
"I don't give a shit what he wants," Takatora snapped. "All I care about is wrecking you, and the bitch you serve."
Oichi couldn't believe what she was hearing. "You cannot still be holding a grudge over your dismissal! Evia kicked you out of the army for good reason!"
"She ruined Ransei!" Takatora yelled, swiping out the wheel in his right hand. "Used to be, Warriors would fight to win - would march to conquer! But ever since she clashed with Nobunaga, everything's gone downhill! Now every kingdom is all sunshine and Butterfree, and battle's been turned into a sport! Now there's expectations on what you have to do with your Pokémon! If you dare to prioritize victory, you get punished for it! I'm not gonna sit around and let this mockery continue!"
There was no flourish in Iron Valiant's motion this time; he brought his hands together, and handles extended off of the blades on his arms, conjoining and twisting so that the blades faced opposing directions as he seized the join and swept the weapon back. Wigglytuff and Hatterene moved to join him, and Lucario and Gothitelle did the same.
"What is this pathetic creature," Oichi growled, "who thinks that showing kindness to one's Link partner is a problem?"
Takatora thrust the wheel in his left hand towards Oichi. "This creature is gonna put Ransei back to the way it should be!" he proclaimed. "Starting by getting rid of you, the whore you work for, and everyone she cares about!"
"Then this has all the makings of your lucky day."
It was Takatora's turn to have his attention seized by a voice behind him; he spun in a shock, and found a woman with a pair of gleaming golden horns standing at the head of the newly-arrived group, with a pair of Eevee on her shoulders.
"You!"
Evia held out her hands, and the Eevee leapt into them; a light shone in the air around each, cradling them in the sigil of Aurora before she hurled one and then the other at the Ice Face Pokémon floating at Takatora's side. The first Quick Attack connected with Glalie's brow, and she kept the connection just long enough to leapt straight up before the second connected between his eyes. He leapt up to join her, and the two connected paws and then propelled themselves apart to leave the skyward Ice Beam ascending between them harmlessly.
Takatora was charging at Evia with speed well beyond what he'd shown during his visit to Aurora as messenger; Evia sidestepped the swing of one wheel and ducked under a swing of the other before rising with an uppercut to his jaw, stunning him long enough to drive a kick into his side. As he twisted, the flaps of his longcoat rose up, and Evia saw something glowing on the backs of his greaves before he tried to swing at her again. She dove out of the way, and Nō took advantage of the opening to lunge forward, raking her nails across his face before driving one heel into his chest to throw him backwards.
Mismagius soared past the Warriors to where the Eevee were bouncing Quick Attacks off of Glalie. Another Ice Beam slammed ineffectively into the ground as the Magical Pokémon hurled a Shadow Ball into the Ice-type; Gardevoir and Salamence followed suit, the Embrace Pokémon carefully aiming a Psychic to strike Glalie and not her allies before Salamence drove claws and tail into the Ice Face Pokémon for a brutal Outrage. Glalie tumbled back, and promptly found himself facing Valiant, who brought down his blades in a Spirit Break to finish him off.
Nō leapt clear over Takatora when the rogue Warrior tried to swipe his wheels at her; as he turned to track the Spectran, Evia swept her sword across the back of his greaves, and something mechanical was rent beneath her strike before he rounded on her. One wheel was met on her sword, and then the other without breaking the lock; the two struggled against one another, and Evia heard an electronic whirr coming from Takatora's arms. She quickly shifted her grip on the handle of her weapon, seizing it backhand and wrenching it along an axis like a lever; Takatora's arms were forced crossed as the lock was parted, and Evia drove the edge of her shield into his forearms, knocking the weapons above his head with a crack of something breaking.
The rogue Warrior brought his wheels down on either side with an angry snarl.
A bamboo pole was thrust through the gap of one wheel.
A cypress stick was thrust through the gap of the other.
Kaguya and Mitsuki both gave yells of effort as they wrenched the weapons out of his hands before he could comprehend what was happening, flinging them towards where Oichi and Driftwalker were standing. Oichi was about ready to catch them when the masked Warrior drew her spear, extended the shaft into the air to hook both wheels, and then drove it into the ground to trap the rings upon it. Takatora had no chance to react before Evia drove her shield into his chest, throwing him backwards and leaving him slamming into the earth next to Glalie.
"You can't even overcome one Warrior in a fair fight," Evia proclaimed. "What makes you think you can make my entire family suffer?"
Takatora tried to force himself to rise with a growl. "You... piece of..."
"Save it," Evia snapped. "You've lost, and you admitted to your master's role in this catastrophe. You can tell us what you know, or you can spend the night in a cell."
"...Eat shit!"
Something was flung out of Takatora's hand at Evia; it seemed like some small projectile, and so she raised her shield to meet it. Rather than connect with it, the object adhered to it, and a voltage coursed through the metal and into Evia's gauntlets, earning a yell of pain as it wracked her body. Takatora took advantage of the distraction to rise, grabbing Glalie by the horn and bracing the Ice Face Pokémon over his shoulder as he ran; Ranmaru and Gracia tried to intercept him, but he managed to dodge around their attempts to halt his advance, continuing to sprint away.
Towards the crystals.
"Dammit!" Even as she and the others made to pursue, Oichi yelled to Zekrom; "Stop him! He knows about all this!"
The Black Yang roared, soaring towards the crystal ahead of Takatora; the rogue Warrior could only watch as the legendary Pokémon raised one voltage-wreathed hand, slamming a Lightning Strike into the structure above the hollow's entrance. The crystal seemed to fracture, shards breaking off and descending to bar his way, and for a moment it looked like he would have no opportunity to escape.
Then Takatora hurled Glalie ahead of him.
Oichi could feel their Link break as the Ice Face Pokémon tumbled through the air; one horn impaled itself in the dirt below the hollow, and then, as the first crystal shard came down, the other one slammed into the earth as well. Pained screams emerged from Glalie from the impact, but Takatora paid no heed; he dropped down as he neared Glalie, sliding between his horns to enter the hollow while there was still a road forward.
The rest of the crystal shards descended, and Glalie was buried in the rubble.
