Chapter 7: Whispers In The Woods
"Ow! Aw, crikey... Why do these leaves have to be so damn pointy?" Bandit whined as he carefully tried to avoid the thorny leaves. He felt the pointy parts digging into his flesh as if he was being bit by a tiny animal. Small streams of blood oozed out of the wounds as he tried to pull away from the small teeth.
When the thorns finally let go of Bandit's body, he tumbled down a steep hill filled with more pointy leaves, including poison ivy. Bandit yelped in pain, feeling the thorns, rocks, leaves, and sticks digging into his body.
"BISCUITS!" He yelled out, still tumbling down the steep hill. Bandit landed on the flat ground with a thump and he groaned out in frustration and pain.
"Aw... B-Biscuits..." He groaned, his body aching as he tried to stand on his two weak, bloody legs. Bandit's ears perked up. He looked around the small area as he heard unintelligible whispering noises.
"H-Hello...?" Bandit said weakly, still looking around, trying to find the source of the whispers.
Bandit yelped as a strange aura-like object flew past his face without warning.
"What was that?!" He asked himself, backing away slowly. To his amazing surprise, the aura-like object flew right to Bandit's face as if it was looking at him. Bandit was at a loss for words, his startled mind trying to make out what he was seeing.
"Crikey," was the only word that came out of Bandit's mouth. The aura came closer to his ear, whispering unintelligible words that Bandit could hardly even make out what it was saying. The aura soon then darted out of nowhere, startling Bandit once more.
"Wait, come back!" Bandit yelled, running deeper into the woods as he chased after the aura.
His feet thumped loudly, leaves and sticks cracking with each step he took. His breath hardened. His whole body was sweating. And his mind was racing. Without thought, Bandit's feet immediately stopped when he saw the aura enter through a dark void.
"Aw, man, not a dark, scary cave," Bandit said, sighing and panting. "I guess I've got no choice." He grabbed a flashlight and flipped the switch. He took a deep breath and began to walk into the pitch black void.
