A/N Hey All! Welcome to the newest chapter of Pokemon Omega Loud. This episode is the first one based off an episode of the anime, but with some changes due to the lack of Team Rocket and Brock in this story. This Chapter will also feature the groups first encounter with a Horde Battle. I hope you like this one as much as I enjoyed writing it. So let's get started.

"Zigzagoon! Use Tackle!" shouted Winston

"Lynn, dodge and use Flame Charge!" cried Lincoln

Lincoln, May, and Lana had finally made it to the edge of Petalburg Woods. Currently Lincoln was battling a rather rude trainer by the name of Winston, who bragged about having the best Pokemon money could buy. After insulting Lana due to how dirty she was, Lincoln immediately challenged the stuck up boy to a battle.

Lincoln's Torchic, Lynn, wrapped itself in flames and closed the distance to her target, slamming into Winston's Zigzagoon and sending it flying into a nearby tree. The raccoon Pokemon fell to the ground in a heap, clearly unconscious.

"Impossible!" cried Winston. "How could I lose to some low-class loser!?"

"If anyone is low-class around here it's you," said Lincoln.

Picking up his Zigzagoon, Winston glared at Lincoln before tossing him some money and leaving to heal his Pokemon.

"Wow," said Lana. "What a jerk. He makes Lola look like an actual princess!"

Meanwhile in Royal Woods, Lola suddenly sneezed. When asked if she was ok, she simply replied with "I'm not sure but I have a sudden urge to punch Lana."

Back with Lincoln and company, the trio entered Petalburg Woods letting out their Pokemon so they could get some exercise, and began to make their way towards Rustboro City. After walking for a couple of hours, Lincoln and May heard a strange gurgling sound. Turning to Lana, they saw that the girl had an embarrassed look on her face.

"Sorry, I guess I'm a little hungry." she said.

Lincoln checks the time before replying. "It's a little too early to break for dinner but I think we have some cookies that you can snack on if you want?"

When Lana's stomach gurgles again the trio laughs as Lincoln removes his bag and pulls out a small pack of cookies before handing it to Lana.

However, before the girl could take possession of the snacks, a blue bird Pokemon with red markings on its face, swoops down from a nearby tree and steals the package of cookies.

"Hey!" Shouted Lincoln, "Give those back!"

The bird Pokemon just chirped mockingly at the trio, before flying off into the distance.

Angry at the theft, Lincoln runs after the Pokemon, pulling his Pokedex out and scanning it in the process.

Taillow, the Tiny Swallow Pokemon, Male. Taillow courageously stands its ground against foes, however strong they may be. This gutsy Pokémon will remain defiant even after a loss. On the other hand, it cries loudly if it becomes hungry.

"Wait! Lincoln, come back!" cried May as she and Lana chased after their companion. After running for a few minutes, the two girls quickly caught up to Lincoln. Lincoln, on the other hand, was at the base of a tall tree, shouting up at the Taillow as it devoured the package of cookies.

While he was busy shouting, Lana collapsed as her stomach gave out several loud growls of hunger.

"So..hungry.." she groaned out in discomfort.

Seeing his sister in distress, Lincoln gave one final rude gesture to the Taillow, before turning back to his companions.

"Sorry, Lana but that was the only thing we had for you to snack on. You'll just have to wait until we stop for dinner."

"I don't think I can wait that long!" moaned Lana as her stomach continued to growl. Suddenly Scar lifted his nose up in the air sniffing intently. After a moment he began barking, then ran off into the brush.

"WOAH!" said Lincoln, "I think Scar smells something!"

"Maybe it's something to eat?" said May.

With that Lincoln picked up Lana and put her on his back, then began to chase after the Poochyena, May following close behind.

A few minutes later they could hear Scar barking up ahead and as they entered a clearing in the woods, they found Scar pacing around the base of several trees. Hanging high up in the branches of each tree were dozens upon dozens of fruits, varying from apples and oranges to Oran and Pecha berries.

"Well I'll be," said May, "Looks like Scar found some fruit!"

Turning to his Ralts, Lincoln ordered her to use Confusion to knock down some fruit for them to eat. Ralts closed her eyes in concentration before opening them again as they began to glow a light blue color. Several pieces of fruit soon began to glow with the same blue light as they began to gently descend towards the ground.

Suddenly, several loud chirping noises began to fill the air as dozens of Taillow began to swoop down and snag all the fruit before they could get within reach of the three trainers. Soon most of the fruit was gone as more and more Taillow began to appear, guarding the remaining fruit trees.

"Uh oh." said Lincoln, "I think we might be in trouble."

May and Lana could only nod nervously as they became surrounded by more and more Taillow.

As the group stared down the Taillow, a single Taillow hopped forward. It was slightly bigger than the others and had a look of pure anger on its face as it began chirping angrily at the trainers and their Pokemon.

Lana stepped forward, her hunger momentarily forgotten as she approached.

"I'm sorry we invaded your territory," she began, "We were just looking for something to eat after one of your friends took our food."

The lead Taillow continued to chirp in anger as Lincoln and May looked on in astonishment.

"Is…is Lana actually able to understand Pokemon?!" May asked.

"I'm honestly not sure," Lincoln replied. "I know she can read canary and duck but I had no idea she could speak bird Pokemon."

Meanwhile Lana turned back to her friends as the Taillow finished chirping.

"So the good news is that he's willing to let us leave and is willing to let us take a few pieces of fruit as well."

"And the bad news?" asked May.

"He'll only let us go if we can beat the entire flock in a Pokemon Battle. If we lose…then, well…let's just say we won't like it."

Lincoln looked at the surrounding Taillow and gave a sigh of resignation. "It looks like we don't have a choice."

"With this many Taillow it might be better if we each used two Pokemon," said May.

With that the three trainers spread out and each got into a battle stance. Lincoln chose to battle using Lynn and Ralts, May chose Mudkip and Wurmple, while Lana chose Scar and Wormy. She also had Lizzy stay by her side so she could watch the battle and hopefully gain some more confidence.

Soon the flock of Taillow flew up into the air and began to attack. The group facing Lincoln began to flap their wings in unison, whipping up a veritable tornado as they combined Gust attacks.

"Lynn, use Detect to block their attack!" Shouted Lincoln, "Ralts use Double-Team!" As the Gust attacks grew closer, Lynn focused her attention on the attack, a light shining in her eyes, as she began dodging each attack before they could make contact. Ralts, on the other hand, began to rapidly move about the battlefield, creating several after-image body doubles, confusing the Taillow.

"Mudkip! Use Supersonic then go into Rock Throw!" cried May. "Wurmple, use String Shot to slow them down!"

Dodging Taillow left and right, Mudkip gave out an ear-piercing screech, hitting several Taillow and causing them to become confused. May's Wurmple, meanwhile, began spitting out large nets of webbing, catching several Taillow and lowering their speed. With several of their group confused and the others stuck in Wurmple's threads the Taillow became easy prey for Mudkips Rock Throw attack.

Lana meanwhile, had Wormy use String Shot as well, while Scar used Ice Fang whenever a Taillow got caught in the sticky webbing.

Back with Lincoln, he ordered Ralts to use Disarming Voice, hitting all of the Taillow and knocking several of them out while he had Lynn finish any straggler's off by having Lynn use Quick Attack and Flame Charge.

After several tense moments, only a small handful of Taillow remained standing. At their head was the larger lead Taillow, looking the least damaged of the flock. The same could not be said of the Trainer's Pokemon, as even though they had managed to knock out the majority of the flock they had not been able to do so unscathed.

Both Lana and May's Wurmples were hanging on by a thread, while Scar had been knocked out at some point during the battle. Mudkip was barely able to stand but it stood its ground, not wanting to disappoint its trainer. Lynn was also barely standing but was still letting out some taunting chirps in defiance.

Ralts was the only Pokemon that had not received any damage as she would teleport away whenever a Taillow managed to get close enough to attack.

With a deafening chirp, the lead Taillow rallied its remaining teammates and they began to fly towards the group, their wings beginning to glow with energy.

"Wormy/Wurmple! Use String Shot!" cried Lana and May. The two Wurmple began to shoot more webbing at the remaining Taillow, hitting all but the Leader who managed to hit both Wurmple with its attack.

"No! Wormy!" cried Lana, as the two Wurmple collapsed.

Suddenly, both Wurmple began to glow with a bright light, their forms becoming lost in the brightness. Everyone stared in amazement as the light got brighter and brighter before vanishing in a flash. Where the two Wurmple had been were now two similar looking Pokemon.

May's Wurmple had become a white orb-like pokemon with red eyes and some bushy webbing over its eyes. Wormy, on the other hand, had become a pale purple color and while it also had red eyes they were unobstructed and looked almost angry.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Lincoln quickly called out some orders.

"Ralts use Disarming Voice! Lynn use Ember! Finish it!" he cried.

With one last look back at her trainer in confirmation, Lynn took in a deep breath and breathed out a cloud of sparking embers, hitting the lead Taillow and sending it falling to the ground. The remaining Taillow were struck by a series of pink tinged soundwaves and each one hit the ground as well.

Lincoln quickly called back his Pokemon and began to go to check on Lana when he noticed the lead Taillow struggling to its feet. It looked at Lincoln in contempt, determined to finish the battle. Lincoln, impressed by the Pokemon's stubborn personality, quickly took out a Pokeball and tossed it at the Taillow, hitting it square on the head.

The Pokeball wiggled several times, back and forth, before locking with a click. Lincoln went and collected the ball, taking the time to catch a couple of the other Taillow as well.

Meanwhile May and Lana were looking at their new Pokemon in awe, though Lana was confused at what exactly had just happened. As Lincoln walked back to join his companions he offered them congratulations on having their Wurmple evolve.

"What do you mean, 'evolve'?" Lana asked her brother.

"Sometimes, when a Pokemon reaches a specific level of strength, they change into a completely new stronger Pokemon. You can also evolve some Pokemon by using specific items, weather conditions, or by trading with other people." he replied.

"So what is Wormy now?" asked Lana.

Taking out his Pokedex, Lincoln pointed it at Wormy while May pointed her Pokedex at her former Wurmple.

Cascoon, the Cocoon Pokemon, Female. Cascoon makes its protective cocoon by wrapping its body entirely with a fine silk from its mouth. Once the silk goes around its body, it hardens. This Pokémon prepares for its evolution inside the cocoon. Said Lincoln's Pokedex.

Silcoon, the Cocoon Pokemon, Female. Silcoon tethers itself to a tree branch using silk to keep from falling. There, this Pokémon hangs quietly while it awaits evolution. It peers out of the silk cocoon through a small hole. Said May's Pokedex.

Lana looked back and forth between the two Cocoon Pokemon.

"How come they're different Pokemon?" she asked.

"Some Pokemon can evolve into different Pokemon depending on different factors. It's called Branched Evolution." May answered.

"Woah," Lana said in amazement. "Lisa will go nuts when she learns about this."

"Yeah but let's not tell her just yet," he said. "If we give her too much information in one day her head will explode."

Lincoln then reached into his bag and pulled out several potions, and oran berries.

"Here guys," he said as he handed them out to everyone. "Let's heal our Pokemon before we continue on."

He pulled out the Pokeball that held the lead Taillow.

"Besides, I think after battling all those Taillow, we're more than welcome to as much fruit as we want."

Lana's stomach gurgled in agreement.

A/N So Lana's Wormy has evolved into a Cascoon and May's Wurmple has become a Silcoon and Lincoln has caught a Taillow. Next time the group will continue to make their way through Petalburg Woods when they stumble upon a researcher in need. Until Next Time! See you all then.
