Okay, I'm doing Camp NaNoWriMo for my current fanfics. My real concern is working on and completing the chapters, so I have something posted for each fanfic. We'll see how it goes. :)

Enjoy. :)

Bethany Baggins sat on the Ivy Bush's Inn porch, observing the scenery around her. She remembered all too well what became of her husband, Frodo Baggins. Not only did the light red dragonoid, Parker Dooley, make Frodo amnesiac. But worse, Frodo couldn't remember anything about himself. It truly was the worst time for him to come to his time period. Frodo was swiftly forgetting everything: his life, his past, his friends and family, even her.

Bethany had fair features, pale skin, blue-green eyes, and brunette hair. She had recently dyed her hair with blonde highlights, thanks to one of the barbers in the Village of Bywater giving her a haircut and dying her hair blonde. She didn't look like herself. If anything, she felt more confident.

She was donned in a light blue dress, and wore black leather boots. She didn't know why, but the boots reminded her of something from her past. She couldn't pin down what, but there her boots were, waiting for her to wear them.

Bethany checked her watch. The watch was new and looked exquisite. She tapped her watch a couple of times. It was spinning out of control, shortly before calming down. She looked up at the sky, spotting it changing rapidly from day to night without stopping.

She sighed, wondering what she might do in Bywater. She couldn't head to Hobbiton, since there were multiple Frodos wandering about. If she caught up with one of them, it would change Frodo's perspective. She couldn't risk it. She couldn't! She didn't know if Parker and Frodo were able to do it. If they did, then that would be risking everything to change time.

Did this mean she was living in an alternate timeline? Was she even in the original timeline? Just what was the original timeline? She observed the one-volume edition book in her hands. It was The Lord of the Rings. It had Frodo's picture on the cover, staring at the creature Gollum.

She read this book so many times. This was the original canon, the book. But how did things get so screwed up? Was there no end?

She sighed, wondering if she shouldn't pursue this task and find out what went wrong in the canon universe. Oh, but Frodo! Would he be safe here without her? She wondered that, even as she looked up, spotting a brunette-haired woman, with yellow eyes, climbing down the steps, leading into and out of the Ivy Bush Inn.

Bethany sighed. She knew who this woman was: Elizabeth Bowler-Dooley, Eliza for short. She was Parker Dooley's wife. Oh, how long it had been since Eliza and Parker were together, before Parker lost his mind.

Why would Parker sacrifice himself for Frodo, let alone join him at the healer's house? There was only one way to find out: go into the healer's house and see what was up with Frodo and Parker. But how were Bethany and Eliza to complete this task? Hmm. She didn't know.

Eliza breathed in the fresh air, exhaling, as she told Bethany, "Well, come on. We should head to the healer's house."

Bethany looked at the book one last time, before stuffing it in her pack. The moment she followed Eliza, she asked, "Do you think Frodo and Parker will be all right? I mean, they were out of it yesterday."

Eliza shrugged. "Who knows? I hope that Frodo and Parker haven't forgotten themselves. I fear the worst if they don't remember us."

"Right," Bethany said, following Eliza to the healer's house. Eliza opened the door for Bethany, telling her:

"You coming?"

"Um…" Bethany looked around. There was nothing for it, "…I'm coming," she said, following Eliza inside.

.

The moment Bethany entered the healer's house waiting room, she looked around. The potted plants and herbs resting on hooks made it seem like this was indeed where the healers went to concoct their ingredients and their potions.

It was no wonder Eliza chose this place. Parker, too. For they feared for Frodo's safety. Bethany hoped Frodo was okay. The last thing she wanted was to see him in peril.

At last, she and Eliza made their way to the front desk. Eliza asked the healer, waiting by the front desk, "Excuse me, but can Bethany and I see Frodo Baggins and Parker Dooley?"

A light brush on her shoulder sent Bethany spinning to her left and to her right. She gasped, seeing a woman with brunette hair smile at her. No! It couldn't be! This brunette-haired woman looked just like her.

A name came to mind: Beatrice.

That was all Bethany knew about her. The brunette-haired woman who brushed her shoulder departed, dematerializing in the process.

Bethany shook her head. "No. No! No, it can't be."

"Ah! Yes. Frodo and Parker will see you now," the healer said.

"Thank you," Eliza said, pleased. She looked at Bethany, saying, "Come on. We'd better go."

"Right. Right, how silly of me!" Bethany said, staring at the door leading outside the healer's house. Had she seen a ghost? What was going on?

She minded her steps as she followed Eliza into the next room, as well as down the hallway, where they hoped Frodo and Parker were wide awake.

.

"Wait here," the healer said, leading Bethany and Eliza into the dining room.

Bethany sighed, grateful to see the tables, as well as the television set. There were so many families and friends here, waiting for their lovers and family members to enter the room. She smiled, as Frodo entered the dining area with Parker Dooley, the healer leading them into the room. Frodo took his seat next to Bethany, while Eliza walked over to a different table with Parker.

For a moment, Frodo and Bethany didn't say anything. What was there to say? Did Frodo remember her?

"How are you, Frodo?" Bethany asked first. She thought it better, wiser, to talk about them being husband and wife when they were ready to talk about it.

Frodo shrugged, taking a sip of water from a cup he brought in with him. "I'm fine." He looked at her, asking her, "Want some? They got a café in here." He smirked, joking with her. "I'm kidding."

Bethany waved her hand. "I'm good."

Frodo shrugged, setting the cup of water down. "Suit yourself."

"Frodo," Bethany leaned in closer, "do you remember me, at all? What do you remember?"

Frodo smirked faded. "I remember you were the one who helped bring me here. I don't want to talk about it." His expression said otherwise. He really wanted to talk about it. "Bethany, why did you bring me here? I'm not mad, am I?"

Bethany shrugged. "I don't know. The hobbits say you are odd."

Frodo smirked, nodding. "I agree. They have acted like me and Bilbo are mad. But still, why am I here?"

"To get your memories back," Bethany said. "I know! I understand. But this is for the best." She shrugged. "Who knows? You may get out of here a lot sooner."

"You're going to leave me, aren't you?" Frodo asked, worriedly. Bethany nearly stood up, but Frodo took her arm. "Please, don't leave me."

Bethany sat down, admitting to him, "I was going to get a drink of water." She added, "If that's all right."

Frodo nodded, taking another sip of his drink.

"We'll get it for you," the healer told Bethany, surprising her with their courtesy.

"Thank you," Bethany said with a smile. She looked back at Frodo, admitting, "So, do you remember I'm your wife?" Frodo looked down at his drink, as she spoke further to him, "At all?"

"I remember something," Frodo said, admitting freely, "like a lost memory or two. You've been to Middle-earth before, as have I. I don't know… I don't know what happened. You went by another name. Beatrice. That's what I remember. And now, you're Bethany. How is this possible? Tell me."

"I don't know," Bethany said, curious, "I remember something too. My name is Beatrice and Bethany? How?"

"I don't know. I wish I knew," Frodo said, staring at her. "You have the same eyes she does. It is you. You're her. How?"

"I don't know," Bethany said, kissing his hand. "I love you, Frodo Baggins."

Frodo smirked, kissing her on the lips. "I love you, too. We'll always be together."

"I know it," Bethany said, kissing him back, as they embraced a moment later.

.

Eliza looked at Parker, watching Bethany and Frodo kiss and embrace. It was a joyous moment. "Should we break them up?"

Parker smirked, drinking his pop. "No. Let them have their fun." He chuckled, enjoying this moment.

.

Bethany wept in Frodo's arms. She didn't want to let him go! "I can't let you go!"

"I know," Frodo said, wiping the tears from her eyes. He admitted, "Well, looks like I'm trapped here, until my memories are restored. Hmm?"

Bethany nodded. "You aren't mad?"

Frodo chuckled, disbelieving her, "Why would I be mad?" He looked at her, whispering, "Find out more about our past. I'll stay until my memories come back. We'll be together again. I know it." He kissed her hands, holding them. "Your hands are cold."

Bethany nodded, hugging him more. "I missed you."

"I know. I missed you, too. I nearly thought I lost you," Frodo said, surprised when she stood up. "Wait. You're not leaving me, are you?"

"I'll be back. I promise," Bethany said, approaching Eliza, while watching Frodo. "He loves me, doesn't he?" she asked Eliza.

"Yup. He sure does," Eliza said.

Bethany turned to Parker, asking him, "What do you remember? Anything?"

"Just a little bit. I'm surprised I don't recall Frodo. I really did a number on him… and on me," Parker said, sipping his drink.

"Well, I need to uncover what happened to us in the past. Frodo said I was Beatrice once upon a time," Bethany said, shrugging, "Is this true?"

Eliza nodded, "Yes. I had a different name back then, too. We all did, including Parker. He wasn't always Parker Dooley, was he?"

"I remember something. Whether or not I was Maranguan in that time I don't know. I seemed to have been Maranguan back then, just like you were Beatrice," Parker said to Bethany. He looked at Eliza, admitting to her, "I don't know. It's like something unlocked in our minds, since I made Frodo and myself amnesiac. That's all I'll say."

"Then we've got to find out more about this," Eliza said, intrigued.

Parker nodded. "Look, you ladies go and find out what went wrong, in the time we forgot. Frodo and I will start searching for clues here. Surely, one of us will learn more about the past." He shrugged, pointing, "I don't know what else to say. Just be careful. The both of you."

"Then I wonder if we'll need more help. Do we?" Bethany asked, curiously.

Eliza sipped her drink, answering, "I think I know just who to go to."

"Really? Who?" Bethany asked intrigued.

"You'll see," Eliza said, all smiles.
