"Would you do the honors, Ladybug?" Mayor B asked, handing Ladybug the giant scissors. Ladybug nodded, her eyes searching the crowd. "But I'm going to need some help. Adrien, you would come up here, please?"
"That's really cool how you have your piece of the merry-go-round. And a cute little bug it is," Adrien smiled at her.
Ladybug had been thrilled when the City Council had approved a ladybug been added to the merry-go-round at the park by her house. The crowd clapped, then everyone lined up for tickets. Adrien begin to follow them, but Ladybug grabbed his hand. "You don't need a ticket, for I say you get a free ride."
"Awesome!" They hopped up to the merry-ground and Adrien gestured for Ladybug to slide in first. "After you, My Lady," he said, then turned red. Ladybug gasped, looking at him. "I'm sorry," Adrien stammered. "I know only Cat calls you that." "Its okay, we all make a slip of the tongue once in awhile."
The ride begin slowly at first, then gradually gained speed. Little girls squealed happily as their horses or unicorns soared up and down, and before long the ride was a colorful blur. Ladybug felt her adrenaline kick in, and her bluebell eyes shone brightly. Adrien made not be wearing a black mask as he shared this ride with his Bugaboo, but he was glad they could have this moment together.
When they stood, Ladybug realized sometime during the ride, she had grabbed Adrien's hand. He looked down at their fingers interlaced with each other. "Care to share a cone?" Ladybug nodded, squeezing his hand gently.
"My mother would take me to the park on weekends as long as she didn't have a photo shoot," Adrien remembered as he licked his chocolate cone. "I could ride on the merry-go-round and buy a balloon."
Ladybug licked her own vanilla cone thoughtfully. Adrien didn't talk about Emile Agreste much. "I'm glad you have those memories," she told him. "And now, whenever you ride the ladybug, will you think of me?"
"Round and round the ladybug flies,
looking for that perfect flower.
She lands on a buttercup, swaying in the wind
and she decideds to stay awhile."
Adrien leaned forward, planting a kiss on Ladybug's cheek. "Always, Little Bug."
