Chapter 18: Uncle Sam Wants You
Max Steel and his team were chasing a group of robbers who just hijacked a truck filled with military weapons on their motorcycles. The passenger started shooting at them. But Xena quickly blocked the shots with her mana shield. "Hey, guys, you know what I hate most about armed smugglers?" Max asked. "What's that, Max?" Yeager asked. Suddenly, a third robber opened the back and aimed a missile launcher at them. "The arms." Max said as the robber fired the missile. "I got it!" Rayne called. She leapt off her bike and fired a lightning bolt, destroying the missile.
"We gotta go faster! They're getting away!" Zad exclaimed. "Then let's pipe down and rev up!" Steel said. "Like the way you think, Steel." Max said. Steel powered up the Turbo Cycle and gave it a boost. "Right behind you, Max!" Vandana called as she and the others followed. The passenger saw them through the rear-view mirror and started shooting at them again. "Okay, these guys clearly don't like tailgaters." Alex said. The robber in the back loaded another missile. "We got to get in front of them." Iden said, who's in his new toxic-themed superhero suit. "I know a shortcut. Swing a right here." Steel said. The team turned right as they dodged the missile. Then they turned left down an alley, but all there was in front of them was a skyscraper building. "This is Steel's shortcut?! It's a dead-end!" Alex exclaimed. "Not for our motorcycles." Max said. They raised their front tires and drove up the side of the building, passing a worker who missed them as they passed.
As they reached the roof, Forge called them. "Kids, keep the skyscraper skid marks to a minimum this time." He ordered. "Will do, Daddy." Xena said. "Sheesh! Sometimes it feels like we're dogs on your father's leash." Alex said. "Yeah. But at least we're dogs with some very cool tricks." Wandella said. "Couldn't have put it better myself, cous." Max said. They leapt off the building and landed on the streets, in front of the truck. "Okay, we're in front of them. Now what?" Zad asked. "Now we hit them with the high-beams." Max said. "I was hoping you'd say that." Steel said. They turned around and drove towards the truck, powering up their motorcycles' high-beams. They fired at the truck, causing it to flip over them and land on its roof. As the team got off their motorcycles, Steel de-linked from the Turbo Cycle, feeling dizzy. "You okay, Steel?" Max asked. "I'm good. But I think I blew a fuse." Steel said. "Whoo! For being good guys, we sure are bad." Alex said. "Oh, you know it." Yeager said as everyone gave each other high-fives.
"Alright, guys, you know the drill. Weapons down, hands up." Max ordered. But the robbers already had their hands up. "Huh. They beat us to it." Rayne said. "Yes. And we may want to join them." Steel said, raising his hands. The team turned around to see a military strike force aiming their weapons at them. "We're surrounded." Max said with worry.

"Uh, did Copper Canyon just get invaded and nobody told us?" Alex asked. "They have us completely surrounded, guys." Steel said as he scanned the army's weaponry. "But why would they want us?" Iden asked. "Listen, we don't want any trouble." Max said, trying to reason with the army. Just then, the robbers tried to make a run for it. "Hey, where do you think you're going?" Rayne asked, preparing a lightning bolt. "Remember, Rayne, just stun them." Max said. "Right, Max. One Sting Bolt coming up." Rayne said as she tossed the bolt. But the robber she was aiming for slipped on a banana peel, causing the bolt to hit one of the tanks. "Oh, shoot." Rayne said with worry.
"Shots fired!" One of the soldiers shouted. "No, wait!" Max exclaimed. But the army all started firing their weapons. The Mana Quints quickly raised their mana shields to block the firepower. "Turbo Strength?" Max asked. "Turbo Strength." Steel said. "Go Turbo Strength!" Max called as Steel linked up with him, morphing to Strength Mode. He lifted up the truck and prepared to throw it. "Max, wait! Do you even know what's in that truck?" Yeager asked in concern. "Yep. State-of-the-art military weapons. And I'm pretty sure they all go boom." Max said. He tossed the truck at the soldiers, who got out of the way before it exploded as it landed in the street. Just then, the tanks advanced, firing their bombs at the team. "I got this." Wandella said. She conjured her mana whips, caught the bombs and whipped them back toward the tanks, causing the drivers to abandon them, thus, destroying the tanks when the bombs hit them. "Our turn!" Alex called, fist-bumping Iden. As they charged, a red rhino image appeared before disappearing into Alex's body. Alex used his rhino strength to flip the tank on the left onto its top. Iden summoned his claws and slashed up the other tank. Suddenly, choppers flew in and started firing. The Mana Quints blocked them with their mana shields. "They got choppers too?! Now what do we got for those?!" Rayne asked as she exclaimed. "We got just the thing." Steel said. "Go Turbo Flight!" Max called, morphing to Flight Mode and taking off. The choppers followed him as they continued firing. "Max, go higher." Steel said. "That's the idea." Max said. As he flew higher, when the choppers tried to follow, the collectives overloaded and caused the mast plates to catch fire. Max and Steel watched the pilots parachuted out as the choppers went down. "Altitude sickness." Steel joked. "You know it." Max said as he flew back down and rejoined his team, morphing back to Base Mode.
As the soldiers resumed fire on the team, another chopper came in to land. "Hold your fire!" A voice from the chopper ordered. The soldiers ceased fire as their leader exited the chopper. "We mean you no harm." The leader said. "Could've fooled me." Steel said. "Colonel Jasper F. Castle, Army." The leader, now known as Colonel Castle, introduced. "The Army? Wait. You're on…our side?" Max asked in suspicion as he and Steel scanned Castle's uniform. "Affirmative. And you must be Max Steel. I've heard a lot about you, son. You and your team here." Castle said. "Well, it must've been some pretty bad stuff. Why'd you declare war on us back there, Colonel?" Steel asked angrily as he de-linked from Max. "Hey, easy. We thought you were attacking us. The arms those punks stole, they were ours." Castle explained, gesturing to the damages. "Yep. Figured they were military." Max said.
"Sir, all the men are safe and accounted for. Though over half a dozen of the vehicles in our convoy have been reduced to scrap." The soldier who ordered the attack reported. "Sorry about that." Max said as the team shrugged sheepishly. "Don't be. Major Parker's new to our company. He doesn't understand that you were just defending yourselves. And doing so with a great deal of skill, I must say. I'm impressed." Castle said. "Thanks. We do a lot of training together." Vandana said, blushing at the sight of Parker, who blushed back at that. "Say, how about coming back to the base with me? Let me show you around." Castle said. "Is that an order?" Rayne asked. "No. It's an invitation." Castle said. "Hmm…" Max said, getting a bit suspicious.
Later, Castle's chopper brought the team to his military base. He led the team into his main bunker. "So, this is an army base." Max said. "It's very…tidy." Steel said, seeing how shiny the floor was from a soldier scrubbing it with a toothbrush. "I know it's probably not what you kids are used to. Certainly, different from N-Tek." Castle said. "Wait. You know about N-Tek?" Max asked, getting more suspicious now. "Now, now, give me some credit. Sure, I may not know a lot about your organization, but I know enough. But that's not why I brought you here." Castle said. "Then why did you bring us here?" Iden asked. "Major Parker?" Castle said. Parker typed on a computer and brought up files on Dreadnaughts, Mr. Naught, and even Dread himself. "Dread!" The team gasped in shock. "This is a treasure trove of information! Even more than what N-Tek has!" Steel exclaimed. "You didn't think you were the only ones after this joker, did you?" Castle asked, showing the footage from Max and the Mana Quints' first battle with Dread over THI. "We've been gathering intel on Miles Dread ever since that little stunt he pulled back in THI. Very nice work, by the way. So nice, in fact, you kids should come work for us." He said. The team was surprised to hear that. "I saw how you kids handled yourselves against my forces. Imagine what we could do together. My intel, your powers, Dread wouldn't stand a chance. Think it over." Castle explained. The team looked to Max. "Alright. We'll think it over." He said. As the team walked away to head back to N-Tek, unknown to Castle, Max's slugs hopped onto the computer and plugged in his USB, downloading the data.
Later, when the team returned to N-Tek, they reported to Forge. And he was not happy. "Are you kids out of your gourds?! You met with the Army?!" He exclaimed. "Well, not the whole army. That would take forever." Steel said. "True, Steel. But I've been having my suspicions about Colonel Castle and his army. He knows about N-Tek and our fight with Dread." Max explained. "How is that possible?" Kat asked. "I'm not sure. But I sent my slugs to download information onto my USB while we were at their base." Max said. "And hopefully, they can get some quality information about these guys." Steel said. "And with that information, I've thought of a plan. My team and I will join Castle's army, keep our guard up and hopefully reveal Castle's true intentions." Max said. Forge felt hesitant about this. "I know it's risky, Uncle Forge. But trust me on this. If you've ever trusted me before, you'll see that it's the only way." Max said. Forge let out a deep sigh. "Very well." Forge said.
Just then, Berto rolled in on his skateboard. "Chief! I mean, Commander Forge. Our satellite feed just spotted Jason Naught and a whole squadron of Dreadnaughts downtown!" He said. "What?!" Forge asked in shock. Berto pulled up the footage.
Naught and his Dreadnaught army were attacking everything in sight. "Alright, you heard Dread! Take down anything that moves! Copper Canyon is completely under siege!" Naught declared as he fired an energy punch at a camera.
As the Dreadnaughts continued attacking the population, a tanker truck stopped in the middle of the streets. The driver got out and ran for his life. "Take no prisoners!" Naught ordered as he destroyed the tanker with another energy punch.
"Max." Forge said. "Loud and clear. Come on, team. Let's fire up C.Y.T.R.O. and take it to him. Turbo-style." Max said. "Right behind you, Max." Xena said as the team headed out. "We'll be right behind you." Forge said, prepping his blaster. After grabbing C.Y.T.R.O. and deactivating the hologram, the team flew off into the air while Forge, Kat and Jefferson followed them in a Hopper, along with a new member.
As they arrived in the city, Max and Steel spotted Naught and the Dreadnaughts charging through the streets while blasting. "Go Turbo Strength!" Max called, morphing into Strength Mode as the team dived into the streets, ready to fight. "Hey, Naught! Why don't you try picking on someone your own size?" Max asked. "Or a smidge bigger for that matter." Steel said. Naught just shouted as he and his Dreadnaughts charged. "Let's do this, team." Max said. The Mana Quints, Rayne, C.Y.T.R.O., and Iden all started firing at the Dreadnaughts, but Naught leapt over the whole team and continued running. "Or let's not." Steel said. Suddenly, the Dreadnaughts all started blowing up. The team turned to see Castle's army joining the fray. "Keep pushing! Hit 'em with everything we've got!" Castle ordered. As the Dreadnaughts were being destroyed, Naught continued running. As he tried to turn left, 2 army trucks drove towards him. He fired an energy punch before turning right. But the trucks dodged the attack and 3 tanks outflanked him. Seeing no way out, Naught surrendered. "Observation: Our new army friend appears to have beaten us to the punch." C.Y.T.R.O. said. "And speaking of punch." Steel said, de-linking from Max. "I know. Castle sure packs some." Max said.
"Restrain him and take him back to base." Castle ordered just as the Hopper landed nearby. A couple soldiers walked up to Naught and cuffed him. "Belay that order!" Forge shouted as he, Kat and Jefferson ran up. "Colonel Castle, I suspect." "What can I do for you?" Castle asked. "That's none of your concern, old friend." A voice from the new member said. Castle turned to see a black man with a goatee, wearing an eyepatch over his left eye, and dressed in N-Tek armor walk up. "Ieuan." Castle said venomously. "That's Commander Ieuan now to you. And we'll be taking Naught off your hands." The man, Commander Ieuan, said. Kat and Jefferson tried to take Naught, but Castle's soldiers shoved them off. "I don't think so. This man is an enemy of the state. And besides, we were here first, traitor." Castle said, pushing Ieuan. Forge pushed back and got ready to pick a fight. "Hey! Guys! We can come to an understanding here." Max said as he and the team tried to break up the fight. "Hey! Stay out of this!" Forge ordered. "Why should he? This is their business as much as it is yours. Or is there something you're hiding from them?" Castle asked. "What're you talking about?" Max asked, pretending that he didn't know. "Why don't you ask Forge here?" Castle asked. Forge was shocked to hear his name. "That's right. I know who you are. And as I told your team, I know a bit about your organization. Perhaps it's time you tell them what N-Tek's true mission is." Castle said. "True mission?" Iden asked, still being new to the team. "Fill you in later." Xena whispered. Forge stuttered to say. "That's what I thought. Take Naught to the interrogation brig! And kids, my offer still stands. If you want to be part of a family, and work for someone you can trust, let me know." Castle said. Forge sighed as the army took Naught and drove away. "Let's move out!" Castle ordered.
"I don't get it, Commander. Naught attacking no one in particular in broad daylight? I think Max was right about his suspicions." Kat said. "Indeed." Forge said. "Then it's a good thing my slugs hitched a ride when Castle got here." Max said as his slugs hopped onto his shoulders. Sophocles was holding his USB.
After returning to N-Tek, Max and Forge looked over the data the slugs collected. "From near as I could tell, the new guy, Major Parker, is the only one who's unaware or Castle's true intentions. Whatever they may be." Max explained as they looked over Major Parker's files. "And that could give us an edge." Forge said. "Uncle Ferrus, I couldn't help overhear Castle call your other commander a traitor. Do they have a history or something?" Max asked. "Yes. Ieuan was part of the military before he kicked out for insubordination. We tracked him down and offered him a position in N-Tek. He suffered from melanoma cancer, causing him to lose his left eye." Forge explained. "That explains the eyepatch." Max said. Just then, the rest of the team came in. "Max, we just got a message from Colonel Castle. He wants to see us tonight." Vandana said. "Steel, is Stephan ready?" Max asked. "All set, Max." Steel said. "Part of your plan?" Forge asked. "Backup plan. If something goes amiss, Steel programmed Stephan to lead you guys to our location." Max explained. As the team prepared to leave, Max stopped to look at Forge for a second. "Don't worry, Uncle Ferrus. You're the closest thing I have to a father after my dad passed. And your kids are like siblings to me. I know you won't let anything happen to me." He said before the door closed.
After they left, Forge called Molly and Amelia at THI. "Forge, is everything okay?" Molly asked with a hint of worry in her tone. "Molly, Amelia, it's the kids. While they don't appear to look it, but they're getting more and more curious by the day." Forge said. "We know. Perhaps it's time we tell them." Amelia said. "Well, we better be sure. But once we do, there's no going back." Forge said.
Later, the team arrived at Castle's base. "Turns out, Naught looks a lot tougher than he is. Took less than an hour for him to spill everything he knows about Dread." Castle explained as he and Parker showed the team what Naught told them about Dread. "So, you know where he is?" Zad asked. "We do. He's staging something in a remote region of the Copper Canyons just south of here. And I want you to help me take him down, kids. What do you say? Will you do it?" Castle asked. "We will." Max said. "I second that motion." Steel said. "Excellent. Now let's take it to the skies and take it to Dread." Castle ordered.
Later, the team and Castle's choppers flew towards Dread's location. "Max, transfer over all of your team's N-Tek tracking frequencies so we can jam anything that might alert Dread to our presence." Castle said through Max's com-link. "You heard the man, Steel." Max said. "Roger that. Cutting the leash." Steel said, cutting the team's N-Tek frequency. "I hope Daddy's ready." Xena said.
Meanwhile, back at N-Tek, Berto skated into Forge's quarters. "The team's frequency has gone offline!" He reported. "Where was their last known location?" Forge asked. "Colonel Castle's base." Berto said. Just then, there was a tap on his shoulder. He turned and saw Stephan, in his Titanium Mode, making him fall on his butt in surprise. "Stephan? But Steel's not linked up with him. How is this possible?" Berto asked, seeing that Stephan's chest socket was empty. "Steel's connected to him. Which means the situation's gotten dire." Forge said.
Back with the team and the army. "That's it up ahead." Castle said as his army and the team arrived at Dread's coordinates. "Hmm. Homey." Steel said. "Unless you're a desert dweller." Alex said. As they were about to arrive, Dread was already waiting for them. "What have we here?" He said with an evil smile underneath his mask.
The team and the army prepared to engage Dread. "I'm taking this creep down myself!" Castle exclaimed as he leapt out of his chopper and charged in. "Colonel Castle, wait! It's too easy!" Max exclaimed. "I'll give him points for bravery, but not for smarts." Steel said. Castle started shooting Dread, knocking him down. But as he recovered, Dread activated a laser cannon and blasted Castle. "No!" Max cried as he and the team landed near Castle. "Colonel Castle, you okay?" He asked. "Don't fret, old Maxie boy. I'm fine." Castle said, suspiciously. "We both are." Dread said as he came up behind Max and stomped on him, pinning him down and draining his Turbo Energy. "In fact, I'm feeling better than ever!" Dread exclaimed as his suit returned to full power. "Max!" Vandana cried as she and the others hurried to help. But Dread blasted them with his Negative Turbo Energy, knocking them down. "What's going on?" Parker asked in shock. "Oh, it's quite obvious. My suspicions were correct. Castle's working for Dread." Max said as Dread grabbed him and slammed him down before draining him again. "That's right, Max. As does my entire team." Castle said as his troopers rounded up the team and Parker. "With the exception of Major Parker. Like I said, he's new to our unit." "You traitor!" Parker exclaimed angrily as he was handcuffed.
"You were planning this right from the very start. Starting with those weapon smugglers. Just so you can get me into Dread's draining hands." Max said as Dread continued to drain him. "Yes. And now we got you and your friends right where we want you, from your friends at N-Tek and surrounded by my friends." Dread said. Just then, Naught, Granius, Frozen Killer and a whole army of Dreadnaughts walked out from secret doors in the canyon walls and surrounded the team. "Now, Max Steel, you belong to me!" Dread declared as he held Max up by the throat. "I'm flattered, but no thanks! Go Turbo Strength!" Max called, breaking free from Dread's grip as he morphed into Strength Mode. The team broke free from Castle's troops, knocking them down, and hurried to Max's side. "Hold them back, guys! For as long as we can!" Max ordered as he knocked back a Dreadnaught, Naught and Granius. Frozen Killer fired a barrage of icicles, but Wandella blocked them with her mana shield. Rayne helped out and threw a thunderbolt at Frozen Killer, knocking him down. "We gotta contact N-Tek!" Alex exclaimed, using his elephant strength to toss a Dreadnaught at Dread. "We can't! Castle's jamming our frequency." Steel said.
"Max, you said that this was Castle's plan from the start? Including those robbers?" Iden asked as he blasted a few Dreadnaughts with his toxic blasts. "Yeah. Dread and Castle paid them off to swipe some of their weapons, knowing that we'd come after them." Max explained as he started to fight Granius. "Take down Max Steel and his team!" Dread ordered. Castle's army started firing at the team all at once. The team tried to take cover behind a boulder, but one of the tanks blasted it, knocking them into the canyon walls. The impact morphed Max back into Base Mode. "I guess calling in the army's out of the question." Alex said. As the team recovered, the Dreadnaughts and Castle's army all started firing at them again. "You could've told me that you sent me downtown just to get Max's team to fall for Castle's bluff." Naught said. "Hmm, must've slipped my mind. Now pipe down and watch the show!" Dread ordered as he threw Naught back into the fight, only for him to get stepped on by Granius. The Mana Quints blocked every blast with their mana shields as best as they could. But then, Granius and Frozen Killer broke through their shields with their powers, knocking the whole team down.
"Why'd you do it, Castle? Why'd you turn your back on your country?" Parker asked in anger. "Do you have any idea how much Dread is paying us?" Castle asked without a care. Suddenly, something destroyed one of the choppers. "What in the?!" Dread exclaimed in shock. Just then, Stephan landed in the canyon, chainsaws ready. "Request: Mind if we crash the party?" C.Y.T.R.O. asked as he landed next to Stephan. Whitney, in her mutant form, landed behind them and let out a big angry roar. Berto, in a new electric-themed superhero suit, landed in front of them. "Who are you?" One of Castle's soldiers asked. "Me? Call me…Electro Tech." Berto said, blasting the soldiers with an electric blast. As they charged into the fight, N-Tek flew overhead in Hoppers and Jump Jets. "I got a visual on the team." Jefferson said. "Roger that. Now let's give them some backup." Kat said. N-Tek started firing on Castle's army, blowing up the tanks. "How did N-Tek find us?!" Dread demanded. "I…I don't know!" Castle said. Just then, one of the soldiers got swarmed by Max and the Mana Quints' slugs as they started biting him. "Mommy!" The soldier cried as the slugs brought him down.
The team looked up as the N-Tek agents parachuted down from the Hoppers. "Dad did it! They came through!" Zad cheered. "We might actually survive this." Alex said. But then, Granius and Frozen Killer walked up with a tank. "You were saying?" Rayne asked. Granius motioned his arm and locked the team's feet into place. Frozen Killer followed by firing an ice beam from his hands, freezing the team's bodies. But then, Berto, Stephan and C.Y.T.R.O. flew down. "Is that…Berto?!" Vandana asked in surprise. "Fight firepower with firepower I always say. Or in this case, fight firepower with electrical-power." Berto said as he fired an electric blast, destroying the tank. "Consider that a dishonorable discharge." He joked as they landed. C.Y.T.R.O. blasted the ice off the team and freed their feet. "Oh, are we glad to see you guys." Vandana said as she hugged her boyfriend, which he hugged back. "But what's with the new suit?" Yeager asked. "Well, I figured with C.Y.T.R.O. now free-willed, I decided to try something new. You can call me Electro Tech." Berto said. But then, Granius swatted him and Stephan aside, preparing to attack the team with a roar. But as the team screamed, Whitney pounced Granius and slashed at his core, thus, making him stumble backwards as he clutched his core in pain. "Good girl, Whitney!" Max called. As C.Y.T.R.O. tossed Max his Turbo Blaster, the team all charged back into the fight with a loud, harmonized battle cry.
As N-Tek continued their firefight with the Dreadnaughts, Forge and Ieuan dropped down and joined the fight. Ieuan blasted a couple of Dreadnaughts with his twin blasters. Forge brought out his energy knife and tossed it at the remaining Dreadnaught. They both chuckled as they glared at Castle, who was hiding. Castle tried to make a run for it. "No! He's mine!" Ieuan exclaimed as he chased after Castle. He pounced on Castle, knocking him down. Ieuan then picked him up and smacked him, knocking him down again. "You don't know how long I've wanted to do that, Castle." He said, cracking his knuckles. But then, Castle grabbed a handful of dirt and threw it into Ieuan's face, blinding him long enough to run off. But Parker saw this. He knocked the 2 soldiers down and chased after Castle.
As Naught pulled himself free from the ground, Stephan walked up to him. "What're you supposed to be?" He asked. Stephan didn't say anything, but readied his chainsaws. "Oh, another cyborg. Then let us decide who the better is." Naught said as he fired an energy punch. Stephan dodged it as he charged towards Naught. As Naught threw a punch with his right arm, Stephan dodged swiftly and sliced off his arm with his chainsaw, making Naught scream in pain. Stephan moved swiftly as he sliced off his other arm and his legs in one quick motion, leaving Naught as nothing but a torso. "Well…I feel a little outclassed." Naught said, feeling useless.
"If they want a war, let's give them one!" Steel exclaimed as Max fired his Turbo Blaster, destroying one of Castle's tanks, which almost hit Dread. "It seems I'll have to see to this personally!" Dread exclaimed. As the team continued fighting and destroying the Dreadnaughts, Dread charged in and leapt over them, formed a blaster on his right arm and blasted Max with it! "Max!" Xena cried. Dread blasted past the team and chased after Max. "Oh no, you don't! It's my turn!" Berto exclaimed as he landed in between Max and Dread. But as he fired an electro-blast at him, Dread was unfazed and shoved Berto aside. "Ouch! Or it's Max's turn." He groaned.
As Max started to recover, Dread knocked him down again with a Negative Turbo Energy Blast. "I told you, Max, you belong to me. And now, I'm taking you!" Dread exclaimed as he started draining more of Max's Turbo Energy. As this happened, Max gave out an angry shout as his eyes glowed pure white, just like from the Water Elementor's cave. Just then, everything started shaking. Everyone felt it. "What did you do?" Dread asked. Just then a giant shadow appeared behind him. He turned around and found himself staring at a giant T-Rex. The T-Rex roared at him before smacking him with its tail, sending him flying. The T-Rex let out a great roar into the air. As Dread landed in the nearby forest, his suit lost its power boost.
Suddenly, as the team and N-Tek was getting pinned down by the Dreadnaughts and Castle's soldiers, Vandana spotted something coming their way. "Look!" She exclaimed, pointing towards it. Hundreds of animals, dinosaurs and mythical creatures were charging into the fight. One of Castle's soldiers got pounced by a grey wolf. Another got pummeled by a silverback gorilla. Another got tripped and bitten by a python. As one soldier tried to run, a Velociraptor pounced him from behind. Several Dreadnaughts were picked up and carried into the sky by a flock of griffins and giant eagles before being dropped back into the canyon and destroyed them in the process. Everyone was shocked to witness these creatures helping them.
As Castle continued to run, he waved down one of his trucks. As the driver stopped and offered him a hand, he pulled him out of the truck and hopped into the driver's seat. "Excuse me, sir." Parker said, revealing himself as he knocked Castle out of the truck. "You've been relieved of duty." Suddenly, as Castle recovered, the T-Rex walked up to him and glared down at him. Castle screamed and tried to run away from it. But then a second T-Rex blocked him, causing him to slip onto his butt. He tried to reach for his gun, but the first T-Rex grabbed his leg in its mouth and lifted him up. He screamed as he was flipped into the T-Rex's mouth. The second one grabbed his legs and they ripped him in half as they ate him. Forge, Ieuan and Parker were shocked yet horrified to witness Castle's sudden death. "Well, that was…extreme." Forge said with disgust, along with Ieuan and Parker, who silently agreed with him
As morning started to come around, the grey wolf let out a howl as it suddenly disappeared in a form of white dust. Everyone watched in awe as the animals disappeared in the same way. But only the T-Rexes remained as they walked up to Max and lowered their heads to him. He placed both his hands on their snouts gently. "Thank you." He thanked them. The T-Rexes raised their heads and both gave a great roar before they disappeared too. N-Tek soldiers and agents restrained Granius after he recovered from Whitney's attack. Berto walked up to Forge. "We rounded up those of Castle's remaining soldiers, Chief. Those animals sure made quite the mess." He reported. "And Dread?" Forge asked. "We went searching for him after that T-Rex sent him flying, but…" Berto tried to say. "Let me guess. He was gone." Forge guessed. "Along with Naught and Frozen Killer." Berto added. Just then, 2 N-Tek agents walked up with Parker. "Hold up. Major Parker?" Forge asked. "Uh, Commander Forge?" Parker said. "Un-cuff this man. He's on our side. Turns out Max and I weren't the only ones suspicious of Castle. When you got into contact with us, Max and I looked you up. You're the only soldier in that unit worth his salt." Forge explained. "I'm just glad Steel's droid received the coordinates in time." Parker said. "Well, we're glad you sent them, Major." Max said as he and the team walked up. "Oh, Major Parker. I'm sorry, but…" Vandana said, taking Berto's hand. "Oh. I see. I understand." Parker said, feeling a bit crushed. "Hey, don't worry about it. Plenty of fish in the sea for you, Major." Vandana said. "Yeah, you're right. Thank you." Parker said. "Keep in touch." Max said. Parker saluted them before walking away.
"Max. You and your team did a good job today." Forge said. "Thank you, Uncle Ferrus." Max said. "Max, after what Castle said, do you and your team really want to know the truth about our true mission?" Forge asked. "Yes, Uncle Ferrus. But not right now. It's too soon. You can tell us when the time is right." Max said. "Alright then. Let's move out!" Forge ordered as he walked away. "But it won't matter anyway. Because we already know what N-Tek's true mission is. To protect Earth from Makino and his Ultralink army." Max said. "That's true, Max. But there's still so many other questions we have yet to have answered." Zad said. "And truths we have yet to uncover. Including my own." Steel said. "I know. I think it's time we find out those truths through…another source." Max said, gesturing to Granius' Ultralink core.
Wow! Wasn't that crazy? Max and his team encounter a military team led by Colonel Castle, but Max has his suspicions about him. As they encountered Naught in the city, the team go with the army into the desert to capture Dread. But Colonel Castle revealed to be working for Dread all along. But luckily, N-Tek arrived just in time to aid the team. But suddenly, Max just triggered a new power, summoning several animals, dinosaurs and mythical creatures to come to their aid. And as soon as Castle was eaten as morning came around, the animals disappeared. Now with one step closer to learning the truths, Max declares to find out more through another source…the Elementors.
