Chapter 104 Legendary Magical Objects

What Evan most urgently wanted to know was that. Other information, like the identities of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs, or the relationship between Professor Lupin and Sirius Black, the truth about Black's escape, etc., he already knew.

What he doesn't know at the moment is the method to create the Marauder's Map. Well, not all about that. After all, the production principle and magical knowledge involved in its creation are things he can find in books at the library.

But most crucial was the method by which Professor Lupin, James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew obtained the magical power necessary to do it.

From what happened with Snape a short time ago, it was obvious that the Marauder's Map was imbued with thoughts.

Among the other two magical objects that have thoughts, one of them is the Sorting Hat made by the Four Founders of Hogwarts. Each of them possessed great magical power. They also held a deep magical knowledge that had been lost, so it was only natural that they could integrate their thoughts into the Sorting Hat.

As for Voldemort's Horcruxes, killing was the source of his power. Only the power of death is strong enough to split one's soul.

The Marauder's Map is not comparable to the Sorting Hat or the Horcruxes, but it too possessed its own thoughts.

As Evan had speculated earlier, Professor Lupin and the other three must have obtained some source of magical power to create the map and complete their transformation into Animagi.

There are many ways to do this: taking numerous magical potions to enhance a person's magical power to an unimaginable level, or using the assistance of a powerful magical object.

For example, the Elder Wand in Dumbledore's hands has this capacity!

"Professor," Evan whispered to Lupin.

"Oh, they found that place in the Forbidden Forest... They needed to get approval to enter... In short, it's dangerous. It's not something you shouldn't know at your age," said Professor Lupin ambiguously, "What you should do is follow the school rules and not expect me to cover for you again."

Upon hearing his words, Evan fell into thought.

"Obviously, there is something hidden in the forest that I am unaware of. It's probably a very powerful magical object."

Judging by Lupin's expression and reading between the lines, that place or thing should be very dangerous.

What could it be?

Initially, Evan thought it was Dumbledore's Elder Wand. But that no longer seems to be the case. Lupin and his friends probably created the Marauder's Map behind Dumbledore's back.

In addition to the Deathly Hallows, there are many other powerful magical objects.

For instance, the legendary Philosopher's Stone, Gryffindor's Sword, the Gordian Knot, Stonehenge... Evan also remembered seeing a Magic Book dedicated to this subject, recording many similar legendary magical objects.

Each of them is immensely powerful, with a strong magical force, and once existed in real life, leaving behind a wonderful epic legend in the history of magic.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of them have been lost in the long river of history.

The few remaining pieces, like Stonehenge, were also collected and studied by the Department of Mysteries and were highly classified at the Ministry of Magic.

Of course, those legendary objects that have been lost didn't truly disappear, as magical items of this caliber are nearly impossible to destroy.

They are probably hidden somewhere or have been passed down as family heirlooms in certain pure-blood wizarding families, but no one knows their locations.

It's like the three objects of the Deathly Hallows. They are gifts granted by Death to the three brothers. It is said that the man who possesses all the Deathly Hallows becomes the master of death itself.

The three Deathly Hallows are legendary magical objects, believed to have been lost within the book Evan read.

In reality, the Elder Wand was in Dumbledore's possession, and the cloak was with Harry.

The Resurrection Stone was turned into a Horcrux by Voldemort.

Judging by the current situation, there is a good chance that the Forbidden Forest conceals a legendary magical object. Similar to the Elder Wand, it could bestow great magical power upon a wizard.

It appears they needed to venture into the forest to investigate.

Furthermore, Professor Lupin mentioned they had to gain "its" approval to enter. Who could he be referring to with "its"?

What strange creatures might dwell in the forest?

In addition to knowing about centaurs, Acromantulas, unicorns, and hippogriffs, there were other magical animals about which Evan knew nothing.

And this phrase reminded him of the four founders and the hidden keys to the treasures they left.

Evan recalled the last sentence in golden writing behind the statue of Godric Gryffindor: "The key to unlock the treasure is the courage buried deep within your heart. You need to earn the approval of their proud followers!"

The followers and those Professor Lupin just mentioned, could they be the same group of people? Their commonality lies in the need to gain their recognition.

If they were the same individuals, wouldn't the legendary magical object in the forest be Gryffindor's treasure key?

Everything seems to fall into place. This would explain why such a powerful magical object is concealed in the forbidden forest of the school without Dumbledore intervening.

"They must abide by the school rules and not sneak out clandestinely. The current situation is particularly grim. I cannot allow you to underestimate the Dementors or have other misunderstandings. Although Evan's corporeal Patronus can withstand them, the most dreadful thing about these creatures is the..."

"The Dementor's Kiss?" Hermione whispered.

"Yes, Hermione," Lupin's face displayed a faint smile. "That is the most dreadful and powerful weapon of the Dementors. They only use it at the end and at the worst moment. They will pull back their hoods before those they want to destroy..."

"What lies beneath the hood, Professor?"

"No one knows. I believe there will always be something like a mouth under the hood because they clamp their jaws around the victim's mouth and consume their soul."

Suddenly, Harry remembered the terrifying image he saw on the Quidditch field through the Dementor's hood before he passed out.

"If they truly do that, it will be worse than death," Lupin said. "You can exist without your soul, you know, as long as your brain and heart keep working. But you will no longer have a sense of identity, memory, or anything at all. There is no possibility of recovery. You will exist as an empty shell. And your soul will be gone forever... lost."

No one spoke. They all tried to imagine the horrifying scene in their minds, pondering having their soul consumed through their mouth.

"You must be careful not to think you have driven away the Dementors and take them lightly," Lupin continued. "What happened last time on the Quidditch field angered them greatly. I just read in the Daily Prophet that the Ministry of Magic has promised the Dementors they can do it after capturing Black."

"It's what he deserves," Harry suddenly said.

"Do you believe that?" Lupin asked gently. "Do you truly believe anyone deserves this?"

"Yes," Harry said. "I heard everyone say he was the most evil dark wizard under Voldemort's command. He killed many people!"

"Of all those confirmed as Death Eaters, Sirius Black was the last one I expected!" Lupin said. "I used to think I knew him well. He was very dangerous, more than you could ever imagine..."

Professor Lupin stopped and seemed to suddenly realize something.

"Wait a moment, weren't you planning to use the map to locate Sirius Black?" he said in a serious tone.

Harry's expression was filled with surprise upon hearing Lupin.

How strange, why does everyone think he would take the initiative to seek Sirius Black?

First, it was Mr. Weasley, then Malfoy, and then Snape. Now even Professor Lupin thinks so.

Are they all mad?

Why would he go after someone who wants to kill him? Is there something he doesn't know about it? This is truly too suspicious.
