Chapter 2. {BBQ}
The man blinked his eyes open, adjusting to the soft lighting of the room he found himself in. He lay in a large, comfortable bed, surrounded by soft pillows and cozy blankets. A large window was positioned across from him, allowing sunlight to stream in, casting a warm glow over the room.
He sat upright and immediately felt he was lighter than he remembered, even if he never experienced gravity in the void, but he remembered the sensation from his previous life. He looked at his bed that had blue covers and gray pillows, he raised his hands out under of the blankets, he saw they were smaller, he looked around the room.
Next to him was a black wooden closet with three doors with a small mirror, attached to the middle door, several posters that looked like a rip off of heroes one looked like a superman with yellow, green and white version of the costume with the name of Mega Titan on the bottom of it.
Near the open wooden door was a white desk with several books, notepads, and a computer. A comfortable brown leather chair was pushed underneath it, and a small nightstand held a vase of fresh flowers and a lamp. The floor was covered in plush, brown carpeting, adding a cozy touch to the room.
The man took a deep breath, feeling a sense of anticipation and excitement welling up inside him. He knew that this was just the beginning of his new life, and he couldn't wait to explore all that it had to offer. He stood up, stretched his arms above his head, and began to walk around the room, taking in his surroundings.
The man went to the mirror, he took a look at his reflection, ' no doubt about I'm Ben 10.' he saw he had familiar brown eyes, brown shaggy hair with a white shirt with a black stripe going from his neck to down to the bottom of the shirt, along with green cargo pants.
He went downstairs, following a hallway lined with framed portrait and photographs. Many of them featured Ben with his family, posing in various costumes and settings with his grandpa Max, and some with his Father Carl Tennyson and his mother Sandra Tennyson, along a few with his uncle Frank and aunt Natalie but no Gwen. The man could feel a connection to these people, even though he didn't quite remember them yet. The sense of familiarity was palpable.
The kitchen was spacious and well-lit, with light wood cabinets and modern appliances. There was a large is breakfast table in the center of the room, topped with a smooth, polished granite counter. The cabinets were filled with dishes, pots, pans, and various kitchen utensils. There was also a table and chairs near the window, perfect for enjoying a meal or doing homework. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and Ben could hear the gentle hum of the refrigerator as it cycled through its cooling process.
As he came in he saw Max Tennyson his grandfather drinking coffee, he looked completely like the show but more real, Max seeing Ben awake, almost spat out his coffee at seeing his late sleeping grandson awake, even before Ben's parents were awake. "Ben! Boy, you really know how to make an old man's heart skip a beat." Max chuckled, wiping the coffee from his mouth with a napkin. "I was starting to think you'd sleep through the apocalypse." Ben grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head at those words.
"Well, I guess I could've slept in a little longer..." he muttered, glancing over at the clock on the wall. It was just after seven in the morning. "But I felt sort of...restless. I just couldn't seem to fall back asleep." Max studied his grandson for a moment, still not entirely sure what to make of this early morning appearance. He was used to Ben sleeping like a log, but then again, his parents had mentioned that their son had been acting a little different lately. Maybe this was just part of that.
Ben shrugged and walked over to the coffeepot, pouring himself a mug. "So, what's on the agenda for today?" he asked, blowing on the steaming liquid before taking a sip. "Anything special planned?" Max surprised that his grandson drinks coffee immediately looked into his mug for any foreign substances and took a sip to test it, but to his surprise there was nothing wrong with it, with a confused in his voice he said to Ben, "You drink coffee?" Ben smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I like the taste, why?" Max took another sip in confusion.
"Well, you know..." Max trailed off, clearing his throat. "Your parents and I were just talking about how you've been acting a bit different lately. I mean, not in a bad way or anything. Just...more grown up, I guess." Ben considered this for a moment, taking another sip of his coffee. It was true that he had been feeling different lately. More confident, more in control of his own life. He hadn't really put much thought into it until now.
Max told Ben,"Hey why don't you go pack for the camping trip." Max told his grandson, while he try's to figuring out a reason why he is acting so weird, Ben suddenly felt excitement growing and his body took control, he put the empty cup in the sink, and ran up the stairs to his room with a slight skip in his step, Ben could only remember from the series original Ben loved camping with Max.
Ben was packing his clothes and trying to figure out why his body reacted that way.
We move to Ben's parents Carl and Sandra Tennyson talking to Max, after Sandra heard how early her son woke up from Max, she molested both Max and Carl's ears with her disbeliveing screams, after Max reassured his Daughter in law, he went to his ARV to retrieve something to see if Sandra wasn't part Alien after that scream, let's see if people who know aliens are real, that just saw there daughter in law scream so hard the very glass items vibrate. While Max did that his son Charl went to get old camping equipment from his sed in the backyard.
Sandra went along with Carl, because she wanted to make sure if her husband, is going to get the equipment that is just gathering dust and was never used.
Sandra was feeling a bit better after her father-in-law reassured her, but still had a slight worry in the back of her mind about Ben. She remembered how excited he'd been when they'd told him about the trip, and how much he'd loved camping with Max as a kid. Maybe this was just him being more enthusiastic about it now that he was older, but still he was 5 years old.
They rummeged through the old tools to find the equipment, still talking to eachother about how they never used the equipment, in the back of the shed they found the tent, sleeping bag and Sandra found an old plumber badge, Charl seeing the design grew pale, because it was a de-stress beacon, Charl got it when his old friend Devin was still around, and he heard a man is hunting Devin, and before he could stop his wife she accidentally activated it.
"Honey, what was that?" Sandra asked, startled by the sudden sound of the alarm. Carl, taken aback for a moment, quickly realized what had happened. "Oh no, it's the de-stress beacon! It must have activated by accident!" He shouted, rushing to disarm the device. But it was too late. The alarm blared even louder, accompanied by a series of flashing red lights.
a Red portal opened outside and a tall red man with three claw like fingers, he was wearing a black plumber suit, he had red shell for skin, a big head and sharp black beard and eyebrows, this was Dr. Servantis the man hunting Devin, sadly Carl and Devin didn't knew that.
Sevantis scan between Charl and Sandra seeing there weren't what he was looking for scoffed, in a second a red lightning bolt shot and burned both Charl and Sandra from the inside out, they're screams of pain drew Ben out.
p.o.v change (Ben)
He was busy packing, after taking 2 minutes to find everything he stored everything next to a black and red outline duffle bag, he looked to his "new" things in the contents that this is his new life's items. He looked through his bookshelves, he just found comics and simple low grade subject books, he won't say he was smart in his past life, but having a dangerously curiosity as child, in like trying to take a real car apart to learn how it works dangerous, he knows somethings about the universe like gamma ray bursts and solar flairs and how dangerous and normal animals bodies work but most intriguing part of it, is how can certain animals can only need a severed leg next to they're bodies, and presto it is a fully functional limb, along with animals regenerating limbs.(Fun fact these two traits can be found in Axolotls)
When he finished getting his clothes, he Ranger rolled them and packed them,he turned and saw a book on his desk that wasn't there before, he picked it up and inspected it, the title of the book was 'Magic from all of Fiction for beginners'.
Intrigued, he opened it, and was greeted by a simple introduction about how magic systems in various works of fiction were different, but could be understood and harnessed by those with the knowledge and skill. The book explained that each type of magic had its own unique properties, strengths, and weaknesses, and that in order to master them, one must first understand their origin and context.
Before he could continue, he heard screaming and quickly put the small book in one of his pockets. He rushed out of his room and toward the source of the noise. As he rounded the corner, he froze in horror at the sight that greeted him. Sir Servantis, the tall, red-skinned man in the plumber's suit, was standing over the charred remains of his parents. They were no longer recognizable as human beings. The air was thick with the smell of burning flesh and ash.
