Looking through the case files, Gavin jumped as he heard his phone ringing before he saw Elijah's number flash across the screen and ignored it.

'Not now, Elijah.' Gavin thought before he saw Leah stand up and walk into the break room.

Gavin stood up and walked to her, Leah looking up at him.

"Are you okay? After…" Gavin tried to ask.

"I'm okay, Gavin." Leah replied before she walked back to her desk… and Tina walked to Gavin.

"Give her space." Tina responded.

Gavin nodded, knowing there was no other choice now.

Put Your Lights On by Santana and Everlast blared through Leah's headphones as she scrolled through the recent cases… and she turned pale when she saw Markus listed as a destroyed android.

Leah shut Spotify off and closed it out before she turned her headphones off and put the headphones and phone in her work bag… and Gavin and Tina saw her stand up and walk away from her desk.

"That's not good…" Tina responded quietly.

The two followed after Leah and found her walking into the office that belonged to the captain of the burglary division.

Looking up, Carlo Evans was confused to see her.

"What's a homicide cop doing here, did your superiors send you here?" Carlo questioned as he stood up.

"No, I'm here of my own volition. I have a few questions to ask two of your cops that answered the break in at 8941 Lafayette Avenue." Leah explained.

"Look, rookie-" Carlo started to say.

"Officer Anderson. I looked up the file from last night, it was sent to the homicide division since we're handling android cases." Leah explained, Carlo turning rattled.

"So your captain went over my head?!" Carlo responded angrily.

"Wow, that's quite a jump to anger, Captain Evans." Leah replied before the door opened and they saw Gavin and Tina.

"Come on, Red." Gavin responded before he carefully grabbed her left hand and guided her outside of the office, Tina closing the door and following them.

In the homicide division, Gavin lightly rubbed Leah's back.

"I know you're pissed, Red, but going and confronting Carlo over missing information from a report is not gonna help anything." Gavin responded softly.

"It's not. I know you hate androids but I'm worried about Markus, I haven't heard from him since yesterday." Leah admitted, Gavin resting his hands on her shoulders.

"The one thing I hate worse is seeing you panicking, Leah. We're gonna find him, I promise." Gavin explained before they hugged.

The two let go and she walked to her desk as he walked into the break room.

'I hate manipulating anyone, especially Gavin. But I know his reaction would've been different had I told him Markus was destroyed.' Leah thought before she heard footsteps and saw Connor and Chris.

"You're still here? I thought your assignment was over." Chris responded.

"It's just been extended." Connor explained, Chris rolling his eyes slightly.

"Hank's gonna be overjoyed to hear that." Chris replied as Leah stood up and looked in her work bag and Chris turned to her. "Hey, kiddo, have you seen your uncle anywhere?" He questioned.

"No, not for the last half hour. It's too early for a lunch break." Leah replied as she walked to them.

"I'm sure he'll show up eventually." Chris responded before he turned to Connor. "You were right about that android… it's been quiet in the cell all night. Scheduled for transfer today." He whispered.

Connor looked at Leah and she nodded before she followed after him to the cells and the android looked up.

"They're gonna destroy me…" The android responded somberly.

"I'm sorry. It's not what I wanted… but there's nothing I can do." Connor explained.

"I know there's something you didn't tell me. I need to know, before they take you away… " Connor responded as he thought more about what happened in the interrogation room. "What you said yesterday… "The truth is inside". What does it mean?"

The deviant looked at them with a diluted thirium tear running down his face. "I'm going to die…"

Connor and Leah walked away, Leah a few steps ahead of Connor… and then stopped at the edge of the hallway as they heard a few banging noises.

Leah tried to run back to the cell, Connor stopping her by wrapping his arms around her and turning her away from the cells as Ben and Chris ran towards the cells.

"Open the cell, quick! Hurry!" Ben shouted, Chris doing so as the deviant fell to the ground and they realized he was dead.

After a few moments of silence, Ben turned to Chris.

"I'll call CyberLife… clean this mess up…" Ben responded as he was shaken up, Ben walking away.

Looking at Leah as he had no idea why he had just grabbed her off of the ground, Connor gently lowered her to it and let go once Leah's feet were on the ground before they walked back to their desks.

Watching it all unfold from the break room, Gavin turned pissed.

'He better take his hands off of her!' Gavin thought as he crushed his coffee cup, Tina jumping in alarm.

"Damn…" Tina responded.

"Sorry, Tina." Gavin replied before he threw the cup away and saw Connor guide Leah into the break room. "Fuck, look at that… Our friend the plastic detective is back in town!" He responded before he started clapping. "Congratulations on last night, very impressive!"

Sensing that Leah was starting to tense up, Connor looked at Gavin and kept Leah partially shielded as Gavin walked to them.

"Never seen an android like you before… what model are you?" Gavin asked as he looked at Connor.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not authorized to answer you. If you have any questions, please contact your superior." Connor responded, Gavin briefly looking back at Tina and then looking at Connor.

"Hey, bring me a coffee, dipshit!" Gavin demanded.

Connor looked at him in confusion and Leah gave Gavin an irritated look.

"GET A MOVE ON!" Gavin shouted.

"I'm sorry, but I only take orders from Lieutenant Anderson and Officer Anderson." Connor responded.

'You just had your hands all over her, was that an order?!' Gavin thought angrily before he punched Connor.

Connor fell to his knees and Leah checked on him before she glared at Gavin.

"If either you or Hank hadn't gotten in the way, I would've fucked him up for disobeying a human!" Gavin responded as he tried to hide that his right hand was sore from hitting Connor and he looked at Connor, who looked up at him. "Stay outta my way. Next time... you won't get off so easy." He threatened.

Gavin slapped Connor upside his head and walked away, Tina following after him as Leah helped Connor stand up.

"I'm sorry about that." Leah replied as Connor straightened his tie.

"It's not your fault." Connor responded before they walked back to their desks and looked up at the Tv in the break room and Leah switched to KNC Tv.

"The first book written by an artificial intelligence has just been published and to call it a success would be an understatement – Do Humans Dream of Mammalian Sheep? has shot to the top of the bestseller list. Moreover, critics are unanimous in their praise for the depth of thought and originality of this first work-"

Leah switched to Channel 16, thinking that Good Morning America was still on until she heard "I'm joined by Corktown resident Todd Williams, who was violently attacked by his AX400 around 11 PM last night. Todd, can you tell us what happened?" and turned the volume up.

"I was having dinner, I was minding my own business. Damn thing jumped on me. Managed to defend myself, but it went crazy. I thought it was gonna kill me... so I fought it off, but it ran away."

"Son of a bitch!" Leah replied angrily as she knew Todd was lying.

Not knowing why it prompted such a visceral response from her, Connor guided her away from the Tv and to their desks before he scanned Hank's desk and saw the anti android notes and newspaper clippings.

The two heard footsteps and saw Hank.

"It's good to see you again, Lieutenant." Connor greeted, Hank rolling his eyes.

Hearing the office door open, they heard "Hank! Leah! In my office!" and saw Fowler.

Hank and Leah looked at each other before they walked towards the office, Connor following after them and walking into the office before he closed the door behind him as Fowler and Hank sat down.

Leah stayed next to Connor as she knew this wasn't going to end well.
