He lost.
Laying in the soft, lush green grass, Shinso's eyes were directed toward the sky. The gentle blue mixed in with scattered, thin-striped white clouds passing overhead would be pleasant in any other given moment.
He blinked his eyes, shaking off the daze from the final blow. Hitoshi couldn't help but clench fistfuls of the grass. He'd failed to make it as far as he hoped – to get the hero course to notice him – and make his mark.
"Ryuko," Jirou spoke rather eerily.
"Yeah?"
"When you make it to the finals and go up against Midoriya, PLEASE win so that I won't have to face him if I ever get to that point."
"OHH YEAHH! HONESTLY I EXPECTED MORE OF A SHOW FROM THE TWO TOP WINNERS, BUT I CAN'T COMPLAIN AFTER THAT KIND OF SUSPENSE! LET'S SHOW OUR CONTESTANTS THAT WE APPRECIATE THEIR EFFORTS REGARDLESS!"
The crowd let their applause be heard as the two fighters stood front and center in the arena.
Izuku should have been ecstatic that he won the very first match, but all he could do was stare at the utter defeat that was plastered on purplette's face. He didn't know the whole story, but given that Shinso was stuck in general studies, he was one of the less fortunate students of the bunch.
Given what his power was, Hitoshi would have to work harder than anyone else to get to the top. Izuku knew that all too well. The frustration and sadness in his eyes were also familiar to the greenette. What Shinso was going through, it reminded him of his own struggles.
"Shinso-"
Izuku tried to speak to him, but to no avail as he was already off the stage and halfway towards the tunnel.
Shinso gritted his teeth as he faced the dark tunnel ahead of him. The abyss seemed to be the like where his hero career was going to end up: down a deep, dark hole. This was his chance to show off what he could do, and he got floored by two punches. To him, it was clear that Midoriya was going to receive more praise for what he showed.
"Shinso! That was so cool!" A fellow student from his general studies shouted from above.
Hitoshi perked up once he heard a comment he wasn't familiar with.
"Yeah man! Can't believe you landed first place in the cavalry battle! That was awesome!"
"Way to put in a good word for us general studies guys!"
More of his fellow classmates joined in on the rally of cheering him on, which took him by surprise.
"I can't believe they stuck him in the general studies class. So stupid," A pro hero exclaimed.
"A quirk like that could be amazing in capturing villains!"
"If he could get some combat training under his belt, he could be a formidable pro."
"Hey! Check my agency out if things ever turn up for you!"
Shinso's eyes widened as what seemed to be impossible was becoming true. The moment where his power was being viewed in a positive light, the way he wanted it to be seen, was actually happening. His brainwashing was looked at as an asset for hero work, rather than being used as a tool fit for a villain.
A shaky smile wiggled its way onto his face while he brushed his hand through his thick hair. He was flustered from all of these compliments! The tunnel in front of him suddenly felt like it was lighting up. Maybe this was finally the moment that he had been asking for these past couple of years.
Midoriya was pleasantly surprised by the support that Shinso had received. Who would have thought? He couldn't have been any happier. But he still felt an irk in his stomach. Maybe there was something he wanted to say to him.
Once Izuku was let loose, he made an immediate dash into the tunnel that Shinso was already walking into. Ryuko watched from afar and leaned over the railing to try and see where he was running off to.
"What's Izuku doing? Either he's making a run up here, or he's following Shinso," Ryuko remained perplexed as she couldn't figure out what Izuku's motive was.
"Shinso!" Midoriya shouted out, his echoing voice in the tunnel made Shinso turn around to face him.
"Oh, it's you. I'd ask if you came to gloat, but I can already tell you're not that kind of person," The purplette chuckled lightly and tucked his hands into his pockets. "I still want to apologize for the things I said during our fight. It was out of line, but I only did it so that I could have somewhat of a chance at beating you."
"No, no, it's fine. I heard you the first time. This world we live in, we gotta do whatever we can to get by after all. Hope there's no hard feelings from me lashing out," Midoriya smiled sheepishly and ruffled his hair.
"No hard feelings at all. Glad we can put that behind us. So, you obviously came here for a reason. What's on your mind?" His posture laxed as a grin soon made its way on his face.
Shinso appeared a lot more casual than he was a moment ago. And he seemed comfortable with talking to Midoriya. It's a relief that his mood had improved thanks to the cheers from his peers and a handful of pro heroes. It definitely cleared up a lot of the tension that was present earlier.
"Listen…I wanted to know. Why do you want to become a hero?"
Shinso's smile faded, but instead of frowning, he was rather surprised. Sure, it gets asked all the time by everyone in the entire world. But Midoriya seemed to give off a different kind of vibe. Shinso stalled for a moment as he was tugging at his hair. He wasn't even sure of how to begin his answer.
"Well…Just look at how big being a superhero can be; fame, glory, get the pretty girl. What kid wouldn't want that? There's not much more that I can say."
He was lying. Shinso wasn't letting on to his true intentions. But obviously, he didn't want to get into detail. Midoriya could see that he wasn't even looking him straight in the eyes. He was dodging the question. And somehow, the greenette was able to see through the lie.
"There's more to it than that," Izuku looked at Shinso with a smile. "I can tell. But, you don't need to tell me everything."
Hitoshi opened his mouth and attempted to speak, only for nothing to come out. He caught him right in the act.
"Am I that easy to read?" He chuckled, Izuku soon returning the gesture.
"After some time with friends of mine, and having reflected on myself, I may have developed a few skills here and there," Izuku shrugged before continuing.
"I admire how hard you're working to become a hero. It may be shifty, but I know you're not that kind of a person. I'm not going to say I know exactly what you're feeling, but I have some understanding of how much harder guys like us have to work to get to the top. Just a month ago, I was told that I could never become a hero because of my power. And here I am."
Izuku clenched his fist and took a firm look at it, reflecting on everything he had been through in the last eleven years. There were a lot of negatives in his life, but the positives were what he remembered the most, receiving All Might's power, getting into UA, meeting Iida and Uraraka…
…And perhaps most importantly, reuniting with Ryuko.
Even the most distant threads can be sewn back together.
"To get to the point, I want to say that I'm rooting for you! You've already shown what you could do when you won the cavalry battle. And I hope we can work together one day!" Izuku cheekily smiled as he looked Hitoshi right in the eyes.
Shinso was pleasantly surprised by what Midoriya was saying to him. For all he knew, Shinso could brush this all off like nothing. But Midoriya believed in him. Just like the new crowd of people that cheered for him.
"Yeah, the feeling's mutual. And you can thank Matoi for that. She was the one that pushed me to go for the top rather than be under the radar," He smiled before stepping forward and reached out his hand, to which Midoriya gladly accepted in a handshake.
"Let's keep in touch."
"Sounds good!"
With that being settled, Izuku walked back up towards the student seating section with a smile as he created a new bridge of friendship with Shinso. Once they arrived in the Class 1-A section, the duo would break off as the purplette had to return to his general studies section. Izuku greeted his friends and seated himself beside Ryuko to watch the next match. All seemed well and done.
"Hey, Midoriya!"
"Yeah?" Izuku was cut off as he was again put under the control of Shinso's Quirk, surprising literally no one in his class…and Ryuko.
"God dammit, Izuku! Can you NOT be gullible for like, five minutes?" Ryuko lamented.
Shinso walked up to the stunned greenette and placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Do me a favor…win this thing, got it? Just so I don't look bad for losing to you."
With that said, Shinso's hold on Midoriya was released and he continued toward the tunnel.
"I'll be rooting for you."
With that all settled, Midoriya tried to relax. But something was bothering him. His nose felt weird and there was something dripping down his face.
"Ow."
"What's up?" Ochako asked.
"I kinda forgot I broke my nose when I punched myself down there," Izuku chuckled as the others could now see the blood dripping down his face.
"Ah, shit! I'll take him to Recovery Girl to get fixed up. We won't be long," Ryuko jumped at the chance to get a few minutes alone with Izuku, dragging him from his seat and out of the 1-A seating section.
But just before they left, they saw one terrifying sight: Todoroki's enormous glacier encasing Sero and towering over the top of the stadium.
"Yikes!" Ryuko exclaimed. It appeared she'd have her turn in the ring sooner than she'd thought.
Izuku also saw Todoroki's power on full display. He was awestruck at the outrageous amount of ice he could conjure, but also curious.
Before they left the seating area, it was at that moment, the look on Todoroki's face made the boy's heart sink. The ice wielder looked very sad.
..~~~HLK~~~..
-Recovery Girl's Stadium Office-
It took them a few minutes to navigate the back hallways to get to Recovery Girl's station. She was already waiting for him to show up, and found he had Matoi with him as well.
"So, I see you're both together still," the nurse said.
"Lay off, would ya?" Ryuko groaned as the two blushed.
"There's no further need to hassle anyone right now," The elder chuckled. "Take a seat Midoriya and I'll fix you right up."
Izuku took a seat on one of the beds available. It was rather comfy with soft, linen sheets.
"Geez, talk about breaking yourself out of the brainwashing. You literally broke your nose to do it," Ryuko smirked.
The nurse's lips latched on to Izuku's face before quickly retracting as his nose finally started to heal.
"Yeah, but at least it wasn't my arms or fingers this time," he groggily replied as Recovery Girl handed over some Pez candy.
"Still, that was pretty intense, man. How'd you do it?"
"Honestly?"
Midoriya stopped and looked at his right palm.
"I don't think I was the one who moved my arm."
Matoi was about to ask what he meant when the three heard the door creak open as All Might tried to slip in, catching everyone's attention despite his best efforts to go unnoticed. He was in his normal form, as he stood near the door. Ryuko's heart clenched as she saw him stop and look around.
"Hey, kid. I thought I'd come and check on you, but it seems like you've already got company," Toshinori waved as he was about to make his exit.
That wasn't happening. Ryuko bolted to the door and blocked him from having a chance to leave.
"PLEASE WAIT! SHUT THE DOOR AND LET ME TALK TO YOU!" Ryuko begged. This was her chance to finally lift a huge weight off her chest.
The others looked puzzled, unsure what the Kamui Wielder wanted.
"I'm sorry miss, but I'm afraid we haven't-"
"I'm sorry."
All Might's stomach dropped as Izuku looked over to his friend, who had some tears brimming, but she wasn't sad. She seemed… conflicted.
"I eavesdropped on you. You and Izuku in the tunnel before his match, and I've been feeling so messed up ever since," Ryuko said in a hushed tone as she quietly closed the door.
"And from what I saw and heard back there, I know that you're All Might."
The room fell silent as Toshinori started to internally panic and Midoriya looked helpless in the matter.
'What?! How did she see us?! I never saw anyone walking around! Oh crap, this is bad!' Toshinori thought.
"Izuku's the only one, well, besides the principal and Recovery Girl, who probably know you look like... well… this. Am I right?" She asked, trying to keep her voice down in case anyone else came passing by.
"Ryuko," Midoriya started to try and say something but couldn't. The greenette couldn't lie to her, but what were they going to do now? All Might wasn't ready to share about One For All with her yet unless he miraculously changed his mind.
"I promised you I'd keep your secret about your Quirk, Izuku. That won't change," the girl broke the silence.
"I honestly pieced this together because of the steam I saw coming off you at the USJ. And then I saw the same thing happen when you buffed up in the tunnel," She said to All Might, whose eyes shot up out of their daze.
"It's kind of like what would happen with me and Senketsu in Sync Mode a while back. But look… I know this isn't easy and I feel guilty that I found out about it like I did. I want to assure you no one else is going to know. Just…"
She turned to Izuku, straightening up a bit as she collected her thoughts.
"When this is all over today, can you both tell me about what's happening so I can help? Help him?" She nodded her head over towards the greenette.
All Might was shaken to his very core. He thought of informing Young Matoi soon after he saw the first race. But to be found out if anyone else ended up passing by? God forbid what would have happened if Endeavor was meandering around down there!
But in that moment, Nezu's words reverberated in his head, practically prodding him to realize something important.
"But do try to make her feel welcome around here. She's had a very hard life and it seems she's experiencing far more joy and support than anywhere else she's been."
The room was engulfed in momentary silence as the No. 1 hero saw only one way forward.
'It may not have been the way I envisioned it, but I have to put my faith into that girl. No! Not just her! I must put my faith into my successor and the happiness I've seen her bring him.'
The Symbol of Peace gulped, knowing there was no turning back now.
"The rest of the faculty know about this weakened form, along with a few other close confidants," he started, causing Izuku and Recovery Girl to gasp.
"All Might!" Izuku murmured.
"After seeing what you did on the obstacle course and through the private talks I've had with my successor, I thought of bringing you "into the know" in the somewhat near future. I knew it would've been inevitable that you'd end up learning about us sooner or later from what Young Midoriya told you. But I didn't envision the moment happening so soon."
Yagi let out a chuckle, seeing Ryuko drop her guard as he gently laid a hand on her left shoulder.
"I guess we're past that point now. Young Matoi, you're the only other student in the entire school who knows about my secret. I promise that we'll give you more info sometime after the festival is over," All Might stated.
"But now's not the time to chat since you both have matches to fight. And you might imagine I'd want to talk in a more private location after what happened today."
The burden on Matoi evaporated, as if it were carried away by a gust of wind, giving off a knowing smile and nodding in agreement.
"Thank you for being honest with me, sir. I thought for a minute you were going to deflect and deny it. But I appreciate the honesty, truly. Your secret's safe. I think Izuku can assure you of that."
Midoriya and Toshinori flashed small smiles, with the former now knowing his friend could hear more about what he had to deal with and not have to feed her any lies going forward.
"You should go for now, dearie. If you win your next match, you'll have to face whoever is about to fight, right?" The nurse inquired.
"Oh shit! You're right!"
Without another moment wasted, Ryuko booked it out of the nurse's office and went on her way back up to the seats.
"First time?" Recovery Girl posed to All Might.
"Yeah. I need to be more careful," Toshinori sighed.
"All Might?"
The two adults turned to the inheritor. They saw a sense of comfort wash over him, like his own burden had been lifted.
"Thank you for trusting Ryuko. I know it wasn't easy for you to say all of that."
All Might let out a laugh as he ruffled his successor's hair.
"Everything I said there was the truth. Even the obstacle course part," he smiled while rolling up a chair and stationing it next to his bed.
"Now then, let's talk about how you broke out of Shinso's brainwashing that ended up sending you down here."
..~~~HLK~~~..
"Why'd I get stuck with fighting a beautiful girl?"
The blonde surge of bolts slouched forward as he traded eye contact with his opponent: Ibara Shiozaki. To many, she was the living embodiment of Mother Earth, the beloved. But to Kaminari, she was a helluva babe.
Super nice and having eyes that would leave you stargazed for days? Shiozaki was an absolute package. But even so, her endless spiel about being pure about her intentions and brushing off negativity may prove to be overbearing. Kaminari had no problem with wasting her if he had to.
'C'mon, pull yourself together! Focus! Midoriya absolutely killed it in his first round! I can't let him be the only cool guy here!'
Kaminari turned his head back to the class 1-A seating area and then back to Shiozaki.
'Plus, this is the closest that I've been to a girl one-on-one here. I need to be on my A game! It's my chance to impress and possibly ask her out on a date!'
He braced himself and faced the girl who maintained a calm stature. This was his time to shine, and he was not going to let himself be outdone by Midoriya. For the first time ever, he stopped to think of what approach he would take before outright attacking. He gave her a once over, paying more attention to her vine-like hair.
"Enough waiting! Let's get into the main event! 3! 2! 1! Begin!"
'Damn. Things got so crazy in the cavalry battle that I didn't get a chance to scope out everyone's quirks! What should I do?'
The more he thought, the more time was wasted as nothing was coming up. The stage was starting to get eerily quiet due to Shiozaki also remaining silent. She maintained her proper form with her hands pressed together and her eyes closed in a calm state.
"Uhh, guys? The match started. Don't tell me that Kaminari has a mind control quirk too!"
"What's going on? How come they aren't fighting?" Izuku asked as he leaned over the railing to inspect closer.
"Kaminari's probably trying to use his brain for the first time and come up with a strategy," Kyouka responded and nodded off, which stifled a laugh out of Ryuko.
"Pff, definitely a first time since he looks like he's struggling," Ryuko giggled which then struck a laugh out of Kyouka.
"And the girl isn't talking either. Probably because she thinks it'd be rude to talk without permission. In an arena. She reminds me of your mom, Izuku."
"Oh? Where'd you get that idea about Shiozaki?" The greenette asked.
"Somehow I can just tell that's what she's thinking."
The crowds began scratching their heads as they wondered why the match once again was being delayed. A spark of intrigue suddenly surfaced once Kaminari had perked up in triumph right out of the blue.
'I got it! I should do a test shot of indiscriminate shock! Just to see what she'd do to counter!'
Feeling awfully proud of himself, electricity began to surface and bathe him in a bright and yellow light. Ibara's eyes finally opened up once she heard the crackling energy in front of her. Kaminari tightened his stance once he charged up to a sufficient level and was ready to blast.
"Indiscriminate shock: 10,000 volts!"
In an overhead slam, Kaminari sent all of his electricity into the ground and throughout the arena. The voltage violently danced on the concrete as it made its way towards Shiozaki, who quickly turned around and grew a large vine barrier to shield her from the blast.
The crowds roared in wonder once they saw the stage light up like a christmas tree. The match had taken a quick shift for the better as everyone was treated to a spectacular demonstration of quirks.
"Whoa! That's so cool! She blocked his electricity!" Izuku fawned.
"Literal mother earth right there, holy cow," Jirou commented.
'I knew she'd probably block the shock, but holy crap that wall is huge!' Kaminari nearly stumbled as he was dumbfounded by what he was up against. But without time to further reflect, the ground began to crack and crumble in a direction that was suspiciously towards him.
-THWAP-
"Holy shit!" The blonde immediately took a running start before leaping towards the side away from the onslaught of ivy strings that attempted to ensnare him.
"I barely had time to dodge that- AHH!" Not even a second to breathe before another tendril barely missed him once again. A chase began with the elements of the world as Denki ran for his life to not be tangled up by Ibara.
"CRAPCRAPCRAPCRAPCRAP! I did NOT sign up to be the star of a tentacle scene! AHHHHH!" He screamed as a vine whipped the ground behind him in a flash, completely obliterating the tile.
"Gotta come up with a plan! But I'm too freaked out to think! Think! Think!"
The more he fretted over this, the more stress built up from within. This began to create a surge that emitted from him, but much more potent than before. The blonde looked up to see another vine swing towards him and scrambled to jump. Just as he was about to leap, all of his electricity was drawn back inside of him and channeled directly into his feet.
In a bright flash, Kaminari propelled himself forward and launched right into the next corner of the arena. He was suddenly out of Shiozaki's sight, who was completely surprised by his sudden departure from her vision.
Everyone watching had their jaws drop, including Aizawa and Present Mic in the commentator booth.
"HOLY COW! ARE MY EYES DECEIVING ME!? HE JUST CROSSED FIFTY METERS WITHIN A SECOND! EVEN FASTER THAN MIDORIYA DID!"
"HolycrapthisisawesomeIdidn'tknowthatKaminaricoulddothat!" Izuku scrambled to find his notebook and began writing notes down on Kaminari's new moves.
"I-I might not be so sure about that, Mic," Ryuko demurred, dumbfounded by how the book and pen just manifested in Izuku's hands.
"Unnh… Ow," Denki groaned as he ended up face planted on the ground before picking himself back up, only to fall backwards onto his rear. His eyes shot wide open when he saw the boundary line.
"H-Holy cow! I nearly fell out of bounds!"
Another surprise hit him once he noticed that he was in a different spot than where he was initially. Before he could question it, he heard small volts crackle from his feet and began to analyze them.
"Whoa… Did I do that? Holy crap! Am I a speedster too?" The blonde jumped back into a standing position, completely stoked over discovering a new usage for his quirk. "Man, I'm starting to feel bad for Iida right now."
Denki turned his head to find Ibara since the match was still active. But this time, she was alarmed by what he pulled off. First there was the rather pitiful ranged attack she was able to easily block, and now he moved at such a speed that she was barely able to track? She was dealing with a wild card here.
She stepped out of her prayer pose and centered herself, which surprised Denki. He actually put her into an even more defensive position than before. He intimidated her.
'She's actually worried? Maybe this is my chance! Looks like I finally got the moment I've been working for,' Kaminari grinned as he got into a stance and started to charge his electricity.
"Don't get too shaken up! Everyone loses once and a while! Tell you what? Why don't you and I go out after this? I'll make it up to you after I win this. I'll even be sure to explain what happened, because you won't even be able to see what's coming!"
His feet began to glow as he prepared for his next attack. Denki bent his knee forward, and his other leg stretched behind him, further securing his position to get ready for his running start. Small traces of energy could be seen snaking up his calves.
'Alright, all I need to do is get close to her and use indiscriminate shock to win. Just zip right to her like I did before, but smaller.'
His power was growing more and more as the glow had snapped a few sparks.
"Ready…"
Suddenly, yellow voltage emerged from him and shined so brightly that Ibara and the audience had to shield their eyes momentarily. They could feel the hairs on their body tingling from the small shock as sparks crawled around the entire stadium. Screens, phones, speakers, lights, everything had completely shut down.
With all technology put out of commission, the elements of nature now took center stage in this fight; electricity, the earth, and the sun itself.
Kaminari reared his body back one last time as it was time to finish this.
"GO!"
-PHZOOM-
Everything turned white. Nobody could see what was going on except for Kaminari. The only sense they hoped to rely on now was their hearing.
-CRACK-
Once the light was gone, the members of the crowd rubbed their eyes and immediately turned their gaze towards the stage at the lights once everything reactivated. What the hell happened?! The fight was getting so good! They had to see more of the action! But what they ended up finding was that Kaminari vanished from the ring.
"What? Where did Kaminari go?" Midoriya frantically searched the area for said student.
"Oh my gosh! Did he travel into another dimension?" Uraraka wondered.
"Or did he…vaporize himself?" Matoi asked.
"Guys…" Jirou spoke lowly, which grabbed her classmate's attention.
"Pff…" She began to snicker and pointed in a direction that led everyone's eyes to find that he was face first into the wall.
"Oh my god," The greenette deadpanned.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!" Jirou fell back into her seat in a fit of laughter and tears. Luckily, the stadium filled up with rather hit or miss reactions so that she wouldn't draw attention to herself. People were puzzled to see such an anticlimactic end.
"Snnk!" Matoi held her hand against her mouth as she soon fell victim into a laughing fit from Kaminari's debacle.
"MATOI! JIROU! It's poor sportsmanship to laugh at your classmate's expense!" Iida stood up and marched his way towards the two girls.
"Yeah, c'mon, guys! Iida's right!" Midoriya surprisingly spoke out loudly for Kaminari and stood from his seat. He turned to Matoi and frowned at her.
"It's not nice to laugh at someone like that! He could be very hurt! You guys need to stop!"
Ryuko looked up to see something that she never thought she'd see before; Izuku being frustrated with her. But, not in the way she expected. His cheeks were puffed and his brows barely slanted over his eyes, showing that he was more displeased than angry. This was the softest angry boy that she had ever seen. He was pouting!
Her cheeks began to turn red as she stared at his face. Seeing Izuku like this was…cute. It was like she was being scolded by a teddy bear. Never before had Ryuko thought she'd be taken on a whirl by a boy who was simply cross with her. It was starting to become overwhelming.
"Ah! Uhm. Ahem, S-Sorry Izuku," Ryuko muttered before she, out of nowhere, sat properly. Her expression was now a normal smile, but her cheeks were still crimson red as she kept her eyes away from him. If she looked at him any more, her heart would have exploded.
"Haha…Oh man…Alright, alright, sorry guys- Whoa!" Kyouka sat in shock over the kamui wielder immediately settling down. Nobody was able to get her to listen that quickly. Not even Aizawa until he had to resort to threats.
The purplette knew that both Iida and Midoriya scolded her and Matoi, but Midoriya was the one standing in front of them.
Looking beyond Kaminari's misfortune, Aizawa turned his attention to the arena to find that Shiozaki had collapsed on the ground. The sight of the girl being strained as she held her shoulder before standing back up caused him to lean further forward.
'He actually hit her?' The erasure hero wondered and looked at the fractured wall that the blonde made.
"Denki Kaminari is out of bounds!" Midnight announced while cracking her whip.
"Looks like mother earth has established herself as the dominant element! Ibara Shiozaki wins!"
The mass of people gave their applause to Ibara while she left the stage. The 1-A student stands were still scratching their heads over what had happened.
"Even though he lost, he still was able to hit her," Izuku commented.
"It makes sense. Kaminari didn't look like he had control of whatever that ability was," Tenya cupped his chin in his hand as he examined the scene. His friends paid close attention since they knew if anyone were to know anything about speed, it'd be him.
"You're right. Without proper focus, his accuracy was definitely affected. He could have either taken her out of bounds and secured a draw, or gotten the jump on her and tazed her," Izuku noted and continued writing in his notebook.
"Gotta leave it to Izuku and Iida to always make everything sound like homework," Ryuko chuckled before standing up. "Welp, I'm up next. And against Yaoyorozu of all people."
"Sounds like we're in for a show, since I bet she's been wanting another shot at you after the Battle Trial," Kyouka joked with a smirk.
"Don't remind me," The Kamui wielder groaned.
"I didn't get to see you two fight the first time. I'm excited that I get another chance to finally watch you guys go at it," The greenette perked up.
"Well, this time she won't be beating my ass because I'm in good condition to fight. Maybe I'll even win!" She jested.
"I'm sure you will," Midoriya spoke loudly, which surprised the surrounding students, especially Matoi.
There was no shaking in his voice. His lips never quivered, and his eyes didn't shy away. He didn't even stutter!
Midoriya held his fist up to Matoi. He knew that she was going to win.
"Good luck, Ryuko. I'll see you in the semifinals."
With her confidence building to a new all-time high, the girl smiled and bumped her fist into his.
"Thanks, Izuku. I'll be there."
Ryuko walked down the stairs, disappearing into the hallway as she made her way down to her waiting room, where she would strategize before her first match.
-Waiting room #1-
The noise was a lot quieter in the waiting rooms than Matoi had originally thought. And on top of that, the burden of knowing about All Might was lifted off her shoulders.
"Senketsu?"
"Yes, Ryuko?"
The teenager paused as she wanted to focus on fighting Yaoyorozu, but she smiled knowing that she'd have some more answers soon.
"Nah, forget it. I gotta figure out how to take down Yaoyorozu.
"The girl who roughed us up in the battle trial. She'll be trouble," the Kamui mused.
Ryuko nodded her head.
"I'm not sure if you've noticed, but ever since we started classes here, she's kept giving me these weird glances. It almost seems like she has it out for me. I don't know why though, which is what's bugging me."
"Hmm. Do you think you can wait a few more minutes before continuing on the subject? We do have a match to fight pretty soon."
Pushing in her chair, the Kamui wielder got up to head to her tunnel when the door to the waiting room was slammed open with a practical bang. Standing there with a quiet glare was Katsuki Bakugo.
"Katsuki," Ryuko let out a low growl. Couldn't he have waited for her to leave before showing up?
"Would you rather I'd blown this whole place up, Matoi?" Bakugo shot back calmly, much to Ryuko's surprise.
"Oh my god! You do remember my name! What's gotten into you all of a sudden? Your brain finally get some oxygen when it isn't stuck so far up your ass?" Ryuko smirked, her voice oozing sarcasm.
"Shut it and listen carefully. I dunno what Deku's told you about us and I don't care about what you think of me. Just stay out of my way. Got it?"
Ryuko's eyes widened with what Katsuki divulged as he walked past her. It wasn't as much of a threat as it was a warning, but this got the gears in her head turning.
"Actually, that's what I've been meaning to ask you about," Her voice dropped by three octaves, which put the blonde on guard as he stopped and turned his head back.
"What happened between you and Izuku? I saw what happened before, but this is more than you just beating him up for standing up to you. What did you do to him?"
Katsuki seemed somewhat disappointed at the question he got from her, his expression stoic.
"He really hasn't said anything, huh? And here I thought you two were somehow close," the boy scoffed.
He took a seat in the previously vacated chair as Matoi's hand curled into a fist. She snapped right back around, stomped towards Katsuki and tugged at his collar.
"He probably isn't saying anything because it's something that's still hurting him after eleven years. Not that you would get it since you've proved you're incapable of being human. So don't you fucking play that bullshit with me. What the hell did you do, Katsuki?"
Ryuko was nearly nose to nose with the ashe blonde as she pulled hard on his shirt, nearly lifting him right off his seat. She was furious. All she saw was red, and it was centered on Katsuki, who remained mostly unmoved until he finally lost his patience with being manhandled.
"Get your fucking hands off of me," He snarled before shoving Ryuko off of him.
"Besides, it's none of your fucking business. That shitty nerd is doing fine now. He's here, isn't he?"
"FIGHTERS, PLEASE TAKE YOUR POSITIONS AT THE FRONT OF THE TUNNELS FOR THE NEXT MATCH OF THE FIRST ROUND!" Present Mic's voice echoed through the intercoms.
Ryuko gritted her teeth, feeling dissatisfied with what little info that she managed to get. Katsuki seemed as apathetic as usual, but to a much scummier degree. Did he think he could get away with what he did just because Izuku was alive and breathing?
"He's far from fine, you piece of shit. But that doesn't matter to you, does it?"
She turned around and left the room before slamming the door right behind her. Matoi's emotions were a mix of both grief and anger. She remembered the first day of school talking to Izuku and the others after classes.
"All the shit that Izuku went through…all alone. If I didn't get sent off to boarding school, maybe I could have...," she lamented.
"Are you going to be okay, Ryuko?" Senketsu tried to soothe her nerves.
"N-No, I'm fine, Senketsu. I'll have to deal with it some other time. Right now, I need to focus on the matches. Losing my cool isn't going to help anyone," She said before slapping both of her cheeks with her hands to reset her focus.
But it wasn't enough to prevent the knot in her stomach from earlier to form again. What other surprises would today bring?
..~~~HLK~~~..
Ryuko's body began to create a sinking hole in her chest as she got closer to the bright light that came from outside. Izuku was the first one to make an example out of what UA had to offer, and now it was her turn to keep it going.
She was a little more resilient against the pressure thanks to being battle hardened, but it was still no easy task. Not only did she need to stand out amongst hundreds of other students, but also in 1A since she was facing her own classmate; Yaoyorozu.
It also didn't help the growing tension she kept feeling from the Vice Rep every time they crossed paths. But, a match was a match. If Yaoyorozu was going to use whatever beef she had with Matoi during this, all the better for the show. May the best one win.
"ARE YOU READY FOLKS?! BECAUSE LIKE THE LAST ONE, WE HAVE ANOTHER EXCITING MATCH-UP HERE! THIS FIGHT WILL BE SETTLED BETWEEN TWO OF UA'S ADMITTED RECOMENDEES!"
"On our right is the dark knight in minimal armor! The second MVP that made a comeback during the cavalry battle! Give it up for Ryuko Matoi from the hero course!"
"He just had to ruin it at the last second, huh?" Ryuko scowled in embarrassment.
"YEAAAAHHHH! EXHIBITIONIST POWER!" Mako shouted from the crowd.
"On the left is the walking armory herself! She's the top performing student in her class and I wouldn't want to mess with her. Also from Class 1-A and the hero course: MOMO YAOYOROZU!
"With that out of the way, shall we begin?! In 3! 2! 1! FIGHT!"
"Fatigue ain't gonna bring me down this time! Let's do this Senketsu!" Ryuko braced herself into a fighting position before clutching onto her Sekki Tekko.
"Right!" The Kamui responded!
"LIFE FIBER SYNCHRONIZE! KAMUI SENKETSU!"
Within an instant, sparks bathed Ryuko in a flashing light that left the audience in awe. Her sync mode was now in full view, which left many questioning the design, and a few others being…distasteful.
Izuku's face left the impression of awe and amazement. He could never get enough of watching Ryuko transform. It was so cool! Seeing simple clothing materialize into armor was something he could never stop nerding over.
"AWW YEAH! Things always get good when Matoi's all transformed!" A certain purple halfling from the hero course cheered.
"So firm, yet still so curvy.~ Next we just need Yaoyorozu to open up her jacket and this'll be the chick fight of the century!"
"If you keep talking like that, you're not allowed to watch anymore, Mineta."
"Huh?" Mineta's head followed the direction of that voice, only to find that Midoriya stared right at him. The greenette was usually seen as the soft goody two-shoes of the class that wouldn't hurt a fly. Yet, he looked at the purplette with what seemed to be the intent to kill in his eyes.
Mineta didn't like this. Not one bit. All of the perved craze in his fluids had been completely sucked out of him, and replaced with fear.
"Wh…What do you mean by that?"
"I mean… If you keep talking about her like that, you're spending the rest of the festival in the hospital," Izuku growled.
"H-Hospital? You mean Recovery Girl's office, right?"
"No."
Yaoyarozu stared down her scantily clad opponent, looking across the way with a mix of disgust and annoyance. This was it: Her chance to show the whole school that she belonged here…
And that Matoi didn't.
She crafted a metallic shield on her left hand while forming a steel baton in her right palm. Without hesitation, she rushed toward Matoi.
"Ooookay?" Ryuko raised an eyebrow, puzzled by the choice of weaponry. This wasn't something she'd expect from Yaoyarozu in the slightest. Just rushing in guns blazing with NO plan that Matoi knew of.
Something was definitely off, that much was obvious to the Kamui Wielder.
Standing firm, Matoi raised her scissor blade up to block the oncoming attack. Changing tactics, Momo raised her left arm to bash the shield into Ryuko's face. The girl with the red highlight ducked and weaved away from the misdirection before sweeping her feet to knock Yaoyorozu off her legs.
Ryuko jumped back as Momo stood and tried to regain her footing. She looked over to Matoi, her eyes shooting a hostile glare at the Kamui wielder.
There it was again, except even more obvious. It was the same dismissive and demeaning look the front-banged girl kept giving her through the first few weeks of school. Ryuko was as confused as ever by Momo's actions.
"Uh…you okay, Yaoyarozu? You…ya kinda not looking so hot," Matoi remarked, now REALLY concerned with her classmate's behavior.
"Please! Like I need pity from the 'Crazy Bitch from the Kanto Gang.' Honestly, is there anywhere you can't sully with your putrid behavior?!" Momo aggressively snapped back as she bolted towards Matoi, catching the latter off guard as the gap between the two quickly closed. The shield and scissor blade clashed head on.
"Sully? Okay, what the hell are you talking about? I got here like, three weeks ago and only got in trouble like…once? Maybe? Hey, did I ever get called in for detention yet, Izuku?!" Matoi yelled to her childhood friend.
"Um…not that I know of-"
"I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT HERE, AND YOU KNOW IT!" Yaoyarozu yelled, her patience essentially nonexistent.
"Whoa! Where did that come from? Okay, fine. Ya wanna play 20 Questions? Let's play! What are you talking about?" Matoi asked, wanting to get to the bottom of this.
"I'm talking about Kanto Gakuin!" Momo shot back, throwing Ryuko for a loop. She never thought she'd hear her old school's name, ESPECIALLY from Momo.
Yaoyorozu took advantage of the hesitation and swung her shield up to shove Ryuko back. Momo launched a side kick aiming for her chest. Matoi raised the hilt of her blade to block the strike, which sent her back a few feet.
"What the hell does my old school have anything to do with any of this? Seriously, all this passive-aggressive bullshit and you come at me with that? Ya know what? Screw it," Matoi growled, readying her weapon.
She'd had it with Momo's nonsense, as she swung her scissor blade in an upward arc. The resulting force of wind hit Yaoyarozu hard, knocking the baton from her hand.
Not missing a beat, Yaoyarozu crafted another baton. This time, the creation Quirk user THREW IT at Matoi's face and hit Ryuko square in the nose, eliciting a disgruntled yelp from her.
"OW! Who throws a baton! Seriously?!" Ryuko yelled, rubbing her damaged nose.
"I've heard stories about your exploits," Yaoyarozu snapped, creating another item behind her back.
Not wanting to drag this out any further, The Kamui Wielder rushed the kneeling Yaoyarozu.
"Ryuko, wait! Something's not right!" Senketsu chimed in, trying to catch his partner's attention.
Before she could answer, a bright FLASH stunned Matoi, catching her by surprise. Momo chucked a flash grenade from her hand that was made while she appeared to be regrouping a moment ago.
Not missing a beat, Yaoyarozu created a steel Bo Staff and took a swing at the blinded Ryuko's face, resulting in a loud CRACK on impact.
"I heard about the property damage, harassment…THE RIOTS! You and your gang tore that school to pieces! Their reputation never recovered and they had to shut down. All the students there had to either move to other schools or had to be bumped down to regular schools due to their academics. That boarding school was supposed to be a place of academic achievement, NOT YOUR LITTLE PLAYGROUND!" Yaoyarozu barked, finishing her assault with a pole jab and an upward Bo strike to Matoi's chin.
"Seriously? That's what's been eating at you this whole time? First off, the school was a shitshow the moment I got there. Hell, the teachers instigated more than half the shit I was involved in," Ryuko remarked, rubbing her numbed up chin.
"And that's supposed to be some sort of excuse?! That's not grounds to destroy school property! And don't get me started on your…clothing," Momo lectured, her comment drawing the attention of both Matoi and Senketsu.
"Okay, now that was rude!" Senketsu declared, slightly offended by Yaoyarozu's comment.
"Oh please, like you're one to talk!" Ryuko shot back as she charged Momo, the red blade clashing with her Bo Staff.
Yaoyarozu saw she was losing the clash with Matoi. She quickly stabbed her staff down into the pavement and delivered a double-push kick while maintaining a hold on the staff.
"And this coming from the chick with her tits and thighs hanging out for the whole world to see!" Matoi pointed out, recovering from the attack and countering with an upward swing of her blade.
Yaoyarozu managed to parry the oncoming assault. She conjured up something small in the palm of her right hand, clearly trying to catch the Kamui wielder with her guard down.
"That flashbang trick isn't gonna work twi-AGGGHH!" Ryuko's words were cut off by a burning sensation getting into her eyes and nose
Momo was pulling out all the stops, with a mini bottle of pepper spray revealed as her latest creation. Seeing an opening, Momo swung her staff hard into Matoi's abdomen, successfully connecting and knocking the wind out of her.
"My costume was tailor made for my Quirk, complete with undergarments. You might as well be running around nude for crying out loud!" Momo fired back
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Ryuko's anger exploded as she finally was recovering from the pepper spray, not to mention being royally pissed off.
"All you've been doing is listing off shitty reason after shitty reason for why you don't like me. Ya lost me after the clothes comment. So how about you drop the self-righteous bullshit and tell me what the fuck your GODDAMN DEAL IS?!"
Ryuko could tell Momo was toying with her. That blast of pepper spray wasn't made with the same chemical strength as traditional brands, only meaning she intentionally held back. As much as that pissed her off, Matoi had to play the situation by ear if she wanted the real reason why the class deputy had it out for her.
"Fine, I'll just cut to the chase since that's what you want. The reason why I despise you so much? Because in spite of everything I said, you were still admitted to UA!"
Ryuko froze up, stunned. In all the time that had passed, she ditched the idea of going back to the madhouse that is Honnōji Academy and staying at UA. She may not have seemed like the most practical fit, but her ideas of what she wanted to do started to change. Being put into a stable and constructive environment was a luxury the renegade had never been a part of in years.
Yet what Momo said still hit hard. She technically shouldn't have been in UA, if not for Mikisugi getting in touch with Hawks to get her away from Satsuki and help her grow strong enough to eventually avenge her father. It was all a stroke of luck. And one that led her back to someone who was important to her.
"You were given the chance to be in the school so many dream of going to, but couldn't make the cut. Then here you come strolling in, complete with your…UGH, your whorish behavior and lack of etiquette. You, the Quirkless girl who spits right in the face of authority and can only be of use when practically naked!" Momo shouted.
"And to top it all off, you're already messing around with our classmates! When you were given the chance to be part of the student body, you threw it away. Did you even know that agencies look for people who have history as Student Council members when recruiting?! And to make it worse, you brought Midoriya down with you!" Yaoyarozu continued.
That final comment really grated Ryuko. Never in her life would she ever try to mess up opportunities for her friends, especially when their future was on the line. And this chick was talking like she quit just so she could have Izuku quit?
That was out of line. VERY out of line.
"You are the antithesis of what a UA student should be! Your very existence here makes all the time, blood, sweat, and literal tears shed from everyone completely all for nothing! So why the actual hell should I ever see you diff-"
"You done?"
Momo's speech was interrupted by Ryuko, whose bangs now covered her eyes as stared down at her feet with her hands clenched.
"...Yeah. I'm done talking," Yaoyarozu responded, readying herself for what Matoi had to throw at her.
"Okay, good. Because I'M DONE," Ryuko announced before the bizarre happened:
She DESYNCED!
The audience lets out an audible gasp at the sight of the now powerless Ryuko Matoi, who stood tall in her UA gym uniform.
"Ryuko, are you sure about this?" Senketsu asked, wanting to be sure of his partner's drastic decision.
"Yeah, don't you worry about a thing," Ryuko assured him, raising her scissor blade and holding it on her shoulder.
"CUZ I'M BAGGIN THIS BITCH!" Matoi shouted, garnering Yaoyorozu to hold her guard.
Back in the stands, Class 1-A was trying to wrap their heads around Ryuko's choice for this round.
"I don't get it! she needs her Kamui to stay on to win right? So why is she desyncing now of all times?!" Kaminari wondered, trying to make heads and tails of this situation.
"It can't be because of her limit, I know that for certain. What could be her reasoning for such a drastic change?" Iida chimed in, also puzzled by the shift in power dynamics.
While everyone else was speculating, Midoriya had his attention placed solely on Ryuko and the crowd. Looking at the various Pro Heroes, he could tell that they were having the same thoughts as his classmates.
"They're probably thinking that Ryuko is throwing in the towel. But I can see it perfectly. Ryuko…you want to show her- NO, show THEM what you can really do," Izuku thought as the volume of the chatter continued to rise.
Even the teachers were scratching their heads at this.
"Kid's got major cojones to be fighting without her umm…gear on. Ya sure you want this to keep going, Eraser? I mean, there's no shame in wanting to call th-"
"I'm letting the fight continue," Aizawa interrupted, having made up his mind before the question was even asked.
"I-W-WHAT?! THE GIRL IS FIGHTIN' WITH A HANDICAP HERE! SURELY OUR EVENT UMPIRE AS A WORD OR TWO ABOUT THIS-"
"I'll allow it! Ryuko Matoi may continue to fight!" Midnight announced, shocking the audience further.
"Is she serious?!"
"No way UA is gonna let this slide…right?"
"You can't be serious with this! Sure her suit is risque, but it was all the power she had. There's no way she can win now!"
"SHE'S QUIRKLESS! THE HELL IS SHE SUPPOSED TO DO?!"
"C'mon! Open back up and-MMPH!"
"That's enough out of you!" The annoyed spectator said to the now-decked horndog, frothing at the mouth and on the ground out cold.
On and on the comments flew around as the audience voiced their opinions on the matter. And they, of course, did not fall on deaf ears. Ryuko could hear everything these people were saying about her. But it was fine, she could tune it out. She'd been through this process already, where people always had something to say about her. All she needed to do was-
"RYUKO/RYUKO!"
Matoi's thoughts were paused as the audience's comments were silenced by the shouting of her name. She looked up and saw the two people who meant the world to her cheering her on.
Izuku Midoriya and Mako Mankonshoku.
"Don't listen to these dunderheads! They don't know a thing about you!" Mako screamed, wanting to drown out the chatter with her mighty voice.
"Give it everything you got and hold nothing back!" Izuku chimed in, wanting to help.
"Show these city folk how we do it back home! Nobody messes with Honnōji!" Mako cheered.
"Show them that…" Izuku paused briefly as his classmates gave him puzzled glances.
The next words that came out of his mouth were the most important words he could say.
They were the words Ryuko told him during his darkest times. The least he could do now was to pass that wisdom back to her. And perhaps…to others that needed it like he did.
"SHOW THEM THAT EVEN A QUIRKLESS PERSON CAN BE A HERO TOO!" Izuku shouted at the top of his lungs, his declaration encompassing the entire stadium.
That statement really got Ryuko's butt in gear. Hearing that coming from Izuku of all people was even more reason she needed to win this fight. This wasn't just about her anymore, this was for everyone who didn't have what the rest of the world had.
"I don't give a damn about being Quirkless, Yaoyorozu. Ya know why?" Ryuko raised her voice slightly as she prepared to charge in.
"Because even the Quirkless can be badass, too!"
Ryuko went into a full sprint as Momo readied herself and raised her shield to defend.
"HRAGGHHH!"
With one swift strike, Ryuko knocked the creation user close to the boundary line, shocking everyone but Mako and Izuku, who smiled.
"QUIRK OR NO QUIRK, YOU DON'T HAVE GUTS! THAT'S WHY I'M GONNA WIN!"
Matoi swiped her blade to the left, leaving Yaoyorzu with little room to dodge.
'I have to get another shield ready to reinforc-'
"ARGHHH!"
The damaged shield absorbed the brunt of the blow, but it didn't stop Momo from flying far away from the ring and tumbling through the grass.
"That kid is a dynamo! Ryuko Matoi advances to the second round!"
Yaoyarozu could only stare down into the ground as the outcome of the match started to hit home.
She lost.
She lost to Matoi.
She lost to the Quirkless delinquent whose crowning achievement was property damage!
"Hey Yaomomo!"
Yaoyarozu looked up to the one calling out for her, coming in contact with Matoi looking into her eyes.
"What do you want?" Yaoyarozu spat as she turned her face away from her opponent.
"Why did you REALLY say what you said? Cuz I know damn well this has got nothing to do with me," Matoi pressed, feeling there was more to Momo's glorified tantrum than she let on.
"What are you suggesting, Matoi?"
"Look, the way I see it, you're not looking for the reason why I'm here. Maybe…you're looking for the reason why despite everything…you're still here."
Looking up, she watched as Ryuko walked away from the arena as the stadium cheered on from the banisters. Ryuko raised her head and smiled, soaking in the cheers and praise she was getting from the audience.
And to think, these bootlickers were dissing her five minutes ago.
'Ha, suck it!'
"The Quirkless girl won! That was amazing!" One of the audience members murmured.
"She's so powerful even without that armor. Incredible!" A pro hero commented.
"I want her at my agency. She has some guts," yet another pro remarked.
As the compliments showered down on Matoi, that was Momo's cue to slink off into the tunnel, unnoticed by almost everyone else.
Midnight looked back at her retreating student with a somewhat sad expression.
Yaoyarozu said some things, A LOT of things that were really hurtful to the R-rated heroine. The statements the girl made sounded very similar to the comments she got from the media and other civilians who told her to "dress appropriately" and her personal favorite "oh, but think of the children!"
Midnight fought tooth and nail to keep a semblance of her original costume and she'd be damned if that work was flushed down the toilet because of the same stigma that was drilled into her student's head.
'If there's one thing I know for certain…'
Midnight looked over to the smiling Ryuko Matoi. She held her head high while speaking to her Kamui if she had to guess.
'That girl has what it takes to face the world head-on,' the heroine thought before mumbling something under her breath.
"She'd be the kinda gal you would've loved to see grow. Right, Shirakumo?"
To Be Continued…
Aduubo A/N: #CancelYaoyorozu for Kamui racism
"Hey Hi. Like many of your previous chapters, this one is really good. I do like that Deku is given a lot more "depth" here than he is in the original story, but, I kinda didn't like how Ryuko discovered Izuku getting his quirk from All Might this early on. I wish it was later, but hey, I don't think it's a big deal. I am really excited for the Deku vs Todoroki fight!
Can't wait for the next chapter!" -SarimSiddiuque
Buckichamp A/N: Yeah, I'm the one who wrote up the Ryuko snooping scene. I was trying to think when it might be a good time for her to find out, and it hit me! Have her accidentally stumble upon it and realize what was happening. I also have other inspiration as to how the scene was written, but the exact wording escapes me.
Anyway, If you noticed the steam line at the very end of Chapter 13, that had a dual purpose: 1) Giving a seed to Ryuko that would help her figure it out (plus what Izuku said) and 2) Her and Senketsu when they de-synced prior to her fully accepting the Kamui.
We wanted to still fit in with Izuku and All Might having their chat about the vestiges in this chapter. Placing Matoi with Midoriya in the recovery room after the first match, it was a good time to get that weight off her chest. It might seem sudden, but back in Chapters 14 and 16, as well as even a few chapters ago, the foreshadowing was already put in place. Having her get that sigh of relief from feeling anchored down was crucial to let her go out and feel a bit more free. I mean, she was going through some serious guilt there and the trauma she's had to deal with… no more was needed right there and then.
It (figuratively) pays to read carefully. We've said something along those lines before. But she was going to find out eventually, so *shrugs*.
PKSpartan A/N: Hiya, I'm the psycho who did the majority of the Momo VS. Ryuko fight. I was pressed since this is the VERY FIRST FIGHT SCENE I HAVE EVER DONE in my tenure here. With weapons, especially. But you'll see how much I've improved with the later grounded fights. Let's just say I've been binging a shit ton of fight scenes for research…
Aduubo A/N: I also wanted to say another thing. For the time being, unless I can get my workflow in check, key visuals/preview images of chapters will be discontinued. I now have the cast in place for the production of HLK comic dubs! So all of my attention will now have to be put there! I'll give updates if anything changes! Thank you all for being so supportive. I can't wait to continue this journey with everyone!
In the meantime, the MHA angst video series gets a continuation that is now open on my ! You can find it by going to my "about" page on YouTube. $5 tier patrons and up will get to watch the video early before tomorrow's public release!
Also, rip to the guy who wanted Izuku to absolutely chew Shinso out lol
