Akame Ga Kill: Kill the Second Chance.
Quick Note – In the previous chapter, I said that I will reveal four spirits of what everyone in the story will be using. Well, there is one person who is not going to get a necklace or a spirit, and that person is Bols. The reason why he's not getting one is for three reasons. One, the guy is nice and wants to repay his sins. Two, he has a family. And three, I just don't have it in me to have Bols be killed in the story. He may be working for the Empire, but the guy is nice to comrades. So, Bols won't be having a necklace.
Anyway, here are the first four people who will get their spirits:
Akame's spirit will be a raven, which will be named Killer Raven. The spirit's ability can make her movements quicker than before, reaching a speed that can rival Esdeath's speed and can make her body flexible to dodge bullets or Danger-Beast powers. She can also use the spirit to create wings and make her fly in the air. However, after using the necklace's power, Akame needs to charge it, and the only way to charge the necklace is by placing it in a dark place, like a drawer or cabinet. It must be away from the sun, or else it won't charge.
Bulat's spirit will be a demon, which will be named Zara. The spirit's ability will give Bulat the power to use demon moves with his staff, along with a huge boost of strength and speed. The spirit can also let Bulat use Incursio's trump card for a long time but will deactivate if he gets hit by an attack. Once he's done using the necklace's power, he needs to rest for a day in order to get his strength back.
Mine's spirit will be a hawk, which will be named Strix. The spirit's ability will increase Pumpkin's power into a level that can make the shots more deadly and dangerous, and the Teigu can transform into a spirit blade if enemies get closed enough to her. The spirit can also increase the power of Pumpkin's trump card and because of it, the Teigu won't get overheated. Once Mine finished using the necklace, the necklace needs to be charged, and the only way to do that is to leave it in the sun.
Lubbock's spirit will be a spider, which will be named Black Widow. The spirit's ability will make Lubbock's Teigu much stronger than it is, making the wires more dangerous, sharper and harder to get out of. It can also alert him if an enemy has pass by his wires. When an enemy is trapped in his wires, Lubbock can summon a spider to have it eat the person alive. Once he's done using the necklace, it needs to be charge by placing it in a ball of wires.
Alright, that is the four spirits of what Akame, Bulat, Mine and Lubbock are going to use throughout the story. I'm planning to write what spirits Night Raid is going to use before writing what the spirits the Jaegers are going to use. However, some characters, namely Seryu, Cosmina and Esdeath, will have Tatsumi's design necklaces instead of Wave's design necklaces since they are going to be with Night Raid.
Anyway, let's head right in the chapter.
Enjoy the chapter.
Chapter Three: Back at The Capital Again.
(In the Southern Region; Five Miles Away from the Capital; Morning Time)
In the Southern region of the Empire where it's always summer and has green forests, two merchant men, secretly soldiers of the Revolutionary Army, were pulling a wooden carriage that was filled with supplies on a dirt path. They had just walked a few miles when they were suddenly confronted by a Danger-Beast that came out of the ground.
The Danger-Beast had the appearance of a giant, cockroach-like beast with two, downward antennae that was long and by its head, giant claw hands and red eyes. It was currently towering and leering down at the scared merchant men with its sinister red eyes. This was an Earth Dragon, a High-Class Danger-Beast, just below Special-Class.
"An Earth Dragon?!" The first merchant yelled in a shocked tone. "Where did it come from?!"
"I thought they come from the mountains!" The second merchant shouted, shaking from head to toe. "It's uncommon to see them on main roads like this one we are on!"
"Better start running because it looks ready to eat us!
The Earth Dragon took what the first merchant said on que to start moving its claw hands towards the two merchant men to grab and devour them. But when the Earth Dragon moved its claw hands, the two Revolutionary Army soldiers took that as a que to instantly turned around and began sprinting away, leaving the wooden carriage they were pulling behind. They were hoping that they could get away from the Danger-Beast, but their hopes vanished when they heard the said Danger-Beast's booming footsteps coming straight at them.
"Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! It's gaining on us!" The first merchant yelled, sprinting faster than before.
"Shut up and keep running!" The second merchant shouted, also sprinting faster than before with his friend. The actions the two men did proved to be useless because the Danger-Beast had caught up to them and used its giant claws to punch the ground with a powerful force that caused the two men to collapsed face-first on the ground.
'SHIT! WE ARE SO DEAD!' The two merchant men thought with dread, as they heard the Earth Dragon walked slowly over to them, ready to eat their human flesh. They were now hoping that any random person around the area can save them from being eaten, and all they can do now was covered their heads with their hands.
Just as the Earth Dragon reached out to grab the down merchant men, it suddenly sensed a Super-Class Danger-Beast nearby, a Tyrant to be more precise, which caused the cockroach-like beast to instantly freeze from what it was doing before looking up to see a tall, masculine figure, dressed in red and black with a supply bag over his shoulder, walking towards the Danger-Beast with his head down and hood up.
The Earth Dragon moved its giant claws away from the two merchant men and gave the male figure who stopped a few distance away a threatening, yet fearful, look. The look seemed to be ineffective because the male figure raised his head up to gazed back at the Danger-Beast with a single crimson-red eye that was crossed-eye for pupils, which caused the Earth Dragon to step back a bit before releasing a mighty roar that was filled with anger.
The mighty roar the Earth Dragon just released caused the two merchant men on the ground to scream loudly and fearfully.
"Damn it! Looks like this is it for us!" The first merchant shouted with despair in his voice. Any hope of someone saving him and his friend vanished like water evaporating from a boiling kettle, even though there was someone here to save him and his friend but didn't noticed
"I don't want to die!" The second merchant yelled, tears running down his face and falling on the ground. "I just recently started to see someone, and I won't be able to tell her how I feel!" The tears on his face streamed faster when another mighty roar fill the air. 'Felicia, I'm sorry that I won't be able to tell you this, but I love you.'
The two merchant men waited for their lives to be eaten by the Earth Dragon, and they felt their hearts stopped beating when they heard the cockroach-like beast move towards them. Time seemed to slow down as the footsteps got louder and louder and when a large shadow passed over them, the two men closed their eyes and lowered their heads, accepting their fateful end. However, it seemed fate had other plans because the Earth Dragon did not grab the two merchant men, nor devoured them instantly. In fact, it barely gave them any attention at all. It just ran right past them.
Deeply shocked by this action, the two men instantly looked up with wide eyes to see what caused the Danger-Beast to run past them, only to widen their eyes even further when they saw a male figure, dressed in red and black, standing a few distance away from them. They now know why the Earth Dragon ran past them; it was heading towards the male figure.
"Kid, get the hell away!" The first merchant screamed, not wanting an innocent person that came out of nowhere to die.
The male figure ignored the man's shout and continued to stand where he was, just as the Earth Dragon closed the distance between them and sent a giant fist to crush the male figure. Once again, time seemed to slow down as the giant fist head towards the male figure who did not make the slightest of movement to dodge the attack, much to the two merchant men's horror.
But when the giant fist got close to the still not moving male figure, he made his move.
In a blink of an eye, the male figure drew his sword out from his hooded coat and sent a slash at Earth Dragon's incoming fist, causing the beast to rear back and release a pain roar as blood sprayed out of the wound. The male figure took the pain roar as an advantage to jump on the arm and run up until he was near the head of the Danger-Beast. When he got there, he thrusted his sword into the Danger-Beast's eye before taking it out and vanishing in thin air to avoid getting hit by the Danger-Beast's other fist.
The male figure appeared behind the Earth Dragon in a knee-bent position before standing up and quickly turning around to cut through the legs with his sword, causing the Danger-Beast to fall forward onto its stomach with a mighty crash that caused the ground to once again violently shake. Before the Earth Dragon can understand what happened, its head was cut off from its large body by the male figure's sword, which caused a large amount of blood to pour out of its decapitated head and stained the ground. The huge beast twitched a bit before becoming still, signifying that it was now dead.
"H-h-holy shit…" The first merchant breathed out, looking at the dead Earth Dragon for a few moments before turning his head to look the male figure who saved him and his friend with an expression of awe on his face. "He took that Earth Dragon down with so much ease…"
"That kid is amazing!" The second merchant cheered, wiping his tear-strained face with his hands before running over to his and his friend's savior, which said friend began following him. "Hey, kid!"
The male figure, still having his hood up and putting his sword away, turned around from hearing the merchant's shout and walked over to them. Once he and the two merchant men got close enough, the former asked in a slight deep voice, "Are you two alright?"
"Yeah, thanks to you," The first merchant replied with a smile. "What's your name?"
"My name's Tatsumi," The male figure who was known as Tatsumi replied, lifting his hands up to his head before pulling it down, revealing his face. He had neck-length, messy, spiky brown hair with some of the hair swept to the left side in the front, a bit of fair-skin and very bright, piercing emerald-green eyes.
The two Revolutionary soldiers were a bit stunned from seeing such bright emerald-green eyes. It was like a blazing, passionate fire was in those eyes, a fire that will never extinguish. A fire that will keep burning.
"So, where are you heading, Tatsumi?" The second merchant asked, recovering himself from seeing Tatsumi's eyes.
"I'm heading towards the Capital to rejoin my friend. We got separated on the way here by a group of bandits."
The two merchant men froze from Tatsumi's answer and couldn't help but give each other a worried glance before turning to look at Tatsumi.
"Tatsumi, I'm not sure if you know or even realized, but the Capital is a…" The first merchant began saying.
"Twisted and corrupted place where every person has the heart of monsters, even worse than Danger-Beasts." Tatsumi finished, much to the two merchants surprised. "Yes, I knew what the Capital really was since I was young, and to be honest, the way those monsters do to other people makes me angry and sick."
"If you knew what the Capital is, then why are you going there with your friend?" The second merchant asked with a frown on his face. If any country person knew the truth about the Capital, they would never in their life step into that place.
"Because my village is in a desperate need of money." Tatsumi explained with a grim look on his face. "My village knew the truth about the Capital and didn't want any member going there, but when the financial problems became very serious, they had no choice but to send out their best hunters to earn lots of money." The grim look on Tatsumi's face became even more grimmer. "I tried talking to my elder about not sending me to the Capital since I'm the best hunter in the village, but he refused to listen to me and ordered me to go there. He also ordered my childhood friend to go with me to earn even more money, and that's how we started our journey to the Capital, even though we got separated after a group of bandits came out of nowhere."
Silence reigned over as the two merchant men processed Tatsumi's words. It was true that villages are starting to become very poor and need a desperate need of money, but they never imagine that villages would send their own people to Capital to earn money, despite either knowing the truth about the place or not.
"You know, you don't have to go to the Capital to earn money, Tatsumi," The first merchant stated, breaking the silence. "You can earn money another way."
"How?" Tatsumi asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, me and my friend here are actually from the Revolutionary Army." The first merchant revealed, getting Tatsumi's eyes to widen. "It's an anti-Empire fighting group that deals with the Empire's corruption. It started out small at first, but the group grew rapidly over the years. Unlike the Empire who steals money and burns different villages, the Revolutionary Army helps and protects the villages from the Empire, and the villages repays the Revolutionary Army by giving them a small amount of their supplies, such as guns, food and clothes, and a few recruitable members who has skills and doesn't hesitate to take a human life."
"Are you two…asking me to join the Revolutionary Army?" Tatsumi asked, still looking at the now revealed soldiers of the Revolutionary Army with wide eyes, while having inwardly thoughts. 'This conversation I'm having with these guys never happened before in the previous timeline, even though they did warn me about the Capital. I had no idea they are Revolutionary Army soldiers; I thought they were just merchants.'
"Yes, Tatsumi," The second merchant said, a smile spreading across his face. "We are asking you to join the Revolutionary Army to help us cleanse the Empire's corruption and bring an era of peace. You have the requirement skills to join us, the determination to bring the Empire's corruption down – we can tell you want peace in the Empire by the look of your eyes – and since you know what the Capital really was…well, it makes it easier to convince you to join."
"How about it, Tatsumi?" The first merchant asked. "Would you like to join the Revolutionary Army? If you do want to join, then you will have to come with and protect us while we are delivering these supplies." He gestured to the wooden carriage.
Tatsumi was completely silent as he thought about the offer to join the Revolutionary Army. The idea to join the group early than in the previous timeline was very tempting and he was considering it. But there was a big problem with that, a problem that caused a small frown to appear on Tatsumi's face. If he joined the Revolutionary Army now and go with these guys, then he would be abandoning Sayo at the Capital and won't be able to join Night Raid. Not to mention, he would break his inward promise to Ieyasu that he will keep Sayo safe from danger and not let her get killed or cry.
'I'm so not going to enjoy saying the next words to these guys.' Tatsumi thought, making up his mind. 'They would no doubt be pissed and confused about it and I hope I can make them understand why I don't want to join the Revolutionary Army, which I am going to join in a few days.'
Bracing himself for the stun and shock looks that were about to come his way, Tatsumi gave the two Revolutionary Army soldiers his answer. "I appreciate the offer you two are giving me, but I'm afraid I had to decline to join the Revolutionary Army." Sure enough, true to Tatsumi's prediction, the two Revolutionary Army soldiers looked shocked from hearing Tatsumi's answer.
"You…don't want to join the Revolutionary Army?" The first merchant asked in a disbelief tone. "Tatsumi, the offer we are giving you is a huge privilege and honor to bring an era of peace to the Empire. To not join the group is a huge blow to the stomach. Why do you not want to join?"
"I know and I want to join the Revolutionary Army as much as you guys want me to," Tatsumi said with regret in his voice. "But I can't leave my friend in the Capital. She'll be killed the moment she steps in there."
"Your friend might be even dead to begin with." The second merchant bluntly said.
"Nah, she's tough as nails when she has her bow. She is an excellent hunter and archer." Tatsumi assured the now skeptical Revolutionary Army soldiers. 'She should be fine since I was the one who trained her when we were kids.'
"Tatsumi, are you sure you don't want to come with us and join the Revolutionary Army?" The first merchant asked, hoping that Tatsumi would listen to him and join the Revolutionary Army. "This is a one time offer that you might never get again."
"I'm sure," Tatsumi replied, nodding his head. "As I want to join the Revolutionary Army, I cannot abandon my friend in the Capital. I must go there and find her."
After a few more words, Tatsumi turned towards the direction of where the Capital was, pulled up his hood to conceal his face again and started walking, leaving a pair of Revolutionary Army soldiers to stare after him.
"I hope that kid knows what he's doing," The first merchant said, as he continued to watch Tatsumi walking in the direction of the Capital with a frown on his face. "Refusing to join the Revolutionary Army just because of a friend who's in the Capital is very foolish. He and his friend will be killed in a few days."
"I don't think so. With the skills Tatsumi used against the Earth Dragon and what he told us about his friend, they should be fine in the Capital." The second merchant stated, walking to the wooden carriage. "Though, I am hoping that he can find his friend quickly before she gets killed or taken."
"Me too," The first merchant agreed, also walking towards the wooden carriage. "Now, let's get moving, we need to deliver these supplies to Lubbock so that he can take them to Night Raid's base."
(At the Entrance of the Capital; With Tatsumi)
'After eight long years of hard work training and being prepared, I'm back here again. The place where my life change after seeing what the Capital looks like. The place where the start of my journey began and the place where it turned me into what I was in the previous timeline: An assassin.' Tatsumi thought, as he stood right in front of the entrance of the Capital, still having his hood concealing his face, and glanced at the huge city before him with a visible crimson-red eye that was filled with betrayal, rage, anger, bitter, scornful, sadness and so many other emotions.
If there was one thing Tatsumi hated in the world, except the Prime Minister who started the great war, it was the Capital. It caused many painful memories he tried to bury to resurface in his mind and he hated remembering these painful memories. He wishes for the memories to go away, but they would linger in his mind, telling him about his mistakes and failures in the previous timeline…and telling him how weak he was to even save anyone, including his friends.
'Stop thinking about the previous timeline, Tatsumi.' Tatsumi mentally scolded, shaking his head to get rid any thoughts about the previous timeline. 'You are here to change the events of this timeline, not think about the previous one. Get over it, focus on your mission to rejoin Night Raid and save Sayo from death.'
With an inaudible sigh and changing his eye color back to its usual emerald-green color, Tatsumi entered the Capital and began walking around to find an inn to stay for the night, not knowing that he was being watched by a young, curvaceous, beautiful woman who was sitting at a café, drinking her tea. She had blonde hair that was short and messy with two long tufts framing the sides of her head, pale skin and golden eyes. The most noticeable features she had was her large breasts and her cheery personality.
The young woman's attire was rather revealing, considering that it showed off her hourglass figure. Said attire consisted of a black tube top that showed the front and back of her body, including her upper breasts, two upper-arm grey sleeves with a gold ring at the top, very short black shorts with a brown belt, detachable pant legs that were same color as the sleeves, a scarf and brown boots.
This young woman was Leone, the Capital's heaviest drinker, wielder of the King of Beasts Transformation: Lionelle and an assassin like Night Raid.
Leone was known to be a sort of big sister figure to everyone in the Capital, including the country people when they come to the Capital for the first time, and spends most of her time drinking at bars or teasing people with her body. But when night comes and she's doing missions with Night Raid, she loses the big sister figure and becomes a vicious person to those who committed crimes. Unlike her fellow assassins who kills the corrupted people to get the job done, Leone enjoys fighting her enemies, which created a habit that earned her scolding words from the Boss of Night Raid.
Leone shudder when she remembered the punishment she earned after disobeying the Boss's orders of not making that habit. Her ears were still sore from hearing that clinking noise!
Because her Teigu was Lionelle, which was a Special-Class Danger-Beast, Leone possesses extraordinary amount of strength, endurance, reflexes, speed, stealth and senses. She also possesses a regeneration that heals her wounds, sensitive hearing if anyone was sneaking up on her and a nose that can catch anyone's scent, including all types of Danger-Beasts, like Low-Class, High-Class, Special-Class and Super-Class.
Leone was very glad she gotten her Teigu from a merchant because when she was relaxing and drinking her tea during her visit in the Capital before she had to go back to Night Raid's base, she sensed something caused her to freeze. Leone sensed the presence of a Super-Class Danger-Beast approaching the Capital. But not just any Super-Class Danger-Beast, a Tyrant to be exact.
'Shit! Shit! Shit! Why is a Tyrant of all things coming at the Capital?!' Leone fearfully thought, trying hard not to panic but was failing miserably. A Tyrant was said to be one of the most dangerous Danger-Beast in the world, and all living things, namely humans, animals and Danger-Beasts, run like hell to get away from the mighty beast. 'I hope the Imperial soldiers noticed it or else we're going to die! I can't blow my cover since Boss needs a spy in the Capital and I can't use my Teigu either to protect the innocents!'
The hope Leone had for the Imperial Army soldiers to notice the Tyrant shattered like glass as it got closer and closer to the Capital until it stopped right in front of the entrance. 'SHIT! IT'S HERE! WHY DID NONE OF THE IMPERIAL SOLDIERS NOTICED IT?!' A sudden thought appeared in Leone's mind, one that caused a bit of sweat to drop down her pale face. 'Could the Tyrant be invisible? That must be the reason since only Tyrants can do that.'
Just as Leone was about to get up and yell out that a Tyrant was in front of the Capital's entrance, the said beast entered through the Capital's entrance and when Leone went to look at it, her golden eyes widened to the size of dinner plates from what she saw. Instead of being a humongous beast, It was a tall, very handsome, lean-built and muscular, young man that looked to be about seventeen and was carrying a supply bag over his shoulder. She couldn't see much of his face since it was concealed by a hood but can see his hair color, which was brown, and slight fair-skin tone.
If it wasn't for the situation at hand, Leone would've blushed a bit from seeing the young man's attire. Said attire consisted of a red, long-sleeve, black trimmed, hooded coat that went to his feet and was left open, revealing a tight black shirt that showed off the young man's muscular body, including his broad chest and eight pack abs. He wore black baggy pants with red straps, a white belt that held up two pouches, which were on the young man's left side and red leather boots with a darker shade of red around the edges.
Leone wasn't sure how long she was staring, almost gaping, at the young man who has the scent of Tyrant all of him, but when the man continued to walk around the Capital, the busty blonde-hair woman quickly returned to act like a normal person, raised her tea up to her lips and drank from it, while narrowing her golden eyes at the young man.
'How in the name of hell does this man have the scent of Tyrant all over him? I thought it was the real beast itself, not some human.' Leone thought, still narrowing her eyes at the young man, even though he was far away from her. 'But seriously, how does he have the scent of Tyrant all over him? Did he kill one on his way to the Capital or fused with one when it was near death?' That last thought about fusing with Tyrant made Leone shake her head. It was impossible to fused with a Tyrant since it would turn the person into a rampaging, bloodthirsty dragon and would take away the person's humanity. 'I'm pretty sure he'd killed a Tyrant but just to make sure, I'll try to pry the information out of him after I report this to Night Raid.'
With a new mission in her mind and needing to back to report what she had discovered, Leone finished her drink, stood up from her chair, swiftly exit through the Capital's entrance and began running towards the direction of where Night Raid's base is.
(Time-Skip; Three Days Later; With Tatsumi)
Three days had passed since Tatsumi had arrived at the Capital and he was walking around the Capital in broad daylight, wanting to sightsee the place since he had never done it before and gain as much information as he can before he meets that noble heiress tonight. He was supposed to meet her on the first day after he gets rejected from the army and kicked out of the inn he was staying, but the brown-hair assassin decided to alter the timeline a bit by helping the citizens and taking out criminals, which was only done at night time since it was perfect for assassins.
Whenever Tatsumi does his assassin rounds at night time in the Capital, he wears a mask so that none of the Imperial guards can identify him and make him a wanted person, even though he can use his memory wiped ability to wipe memories of him and his identity. The crime level has been reduced a bit, but it was only thugs and burglars Tatsumi kills because he didn't dare do big crime levels without joining Night Raid, regardless that he has Danger-Beast powers.
'Okay, everything I'm doing right now may not be what I planned since I got here, but at least I'm doing a good job by reducing the crime level and giving the citizens money for food and clothes.' Tatsumi thought, as he walked through the Capital's streets, dressed in his usual attire and having his hood up to cover his face. 'And my actions are being paid off at the moment because the citizens look happy.'
It was true, the citizens looked happy instead of being extremely sad, depressed and scared and they were currently chatting with happiness in their voices. The sight of seeing the citizens looking happy brought a small smile on Tatsumi's face. He was looking forward of seeing more of those smiles on the citizen's faces in the future and at the end of the war. He was even looking forward of killing Honest, the man who started it all from the beginning.
The war.
The killing.
The misery.
The fear.
The slavery.
The corruption.
The experiments on the innocents.
The manipulation.
The carnage.
The list goes on and on, and Tatsumi wasn't even sure what else to think. But all he knew that Honest was a monster beyond belief, not even a human being, and needed to be put down. The question is, how was Tatsumi going to kill Honest when the war comes to an end?
Because Tatsumi was so deep into his thoughts about killing Honest and seeing more smiles on the citizen's faces, he wasn't aware that he was being watched. Crouching on top of a building's roof, away from the citizen's eyes, was a serious-looking Leone, dressed in her usual outfit but undergo a transformation. Her short hair has grown longer and messier than before with two lion-like ears sported on top of her head and her hands had changed into yellow sharp-looking paws. She also had a yellow tail that was currently moving around in the air and her golden eyes became darker and fiercer.
This was Leone's half human/half beast transformation, a transformation she learned from training with her Teigu.
For the past two days, Leone had been secretly observing the Tyrant-scented man's movements with sharp eyes and listening to the conversations he endures with her enhanced hearing, though the said conversations were just store business that deals with either items, foods or clothes, while making sure to completely masked her presence from him so that the young man couldn't sense her. The busty blonde didn't even want to know what will happen to her if she gets spotted by the young man, and she was very determined to make it stay that way.
But as the two days passed, Leone was going to admit that she was starting to get bored from watching the young man, while getting frustrated she hasn't been able to see his face. All he does was walk around the Capital all day and heads back to the inn he was staying at when night time arrives, which caused Leone to stop observing him and head towards Night Raid's secret hideout to turn in for the night, though it was mostly to get away from the scent of Tyrant.
The thought of that dreadful scent caused not only Leone's stomach to become terribly ill but caused shivers of pure fear to run down her spine. She wasn't going to admit it, not even to Night Raid, but she was completely scared of the Tyrant scent. It came from a beast that all Danger-Beasts and humans fear. Just being near a person who has a scent of Tyrant is enough to make anyone scared, and that fear is causing Leone to become a scared person.
It didn't help that Leone started having nightmares about the Tyrant when she first sensed it, which forced her to drink heavy amounts of alcohol, enough to make her pass out and sleep through the night. While the alcohol did help her sleeping method, the heavy amounts made the busty blonde hallucinate during the day, showing her greatest fear: A Tyrant. No matter how hard she tried, she cannot stop thinking about the beast and the fear inside her, and it was leading her to this reaction.
'Why can I not get rid of this fear inside me?!' Leone thought, as she took multiple deep breaths to calm herself down. Her heart was beating rapidly fast, and a light layer of sweat appeared on her face. 'I'm not even near the man at all and I'm on top of a roof! Why won't this fear go away?!'
Leone can still remember the reaction her fellow Night Raid members had when she reported what she learned at the Capital and couldn't help but become pissed about it.
(Flashback; Three days ago; Night Raid's Base)
Night Raid's base was located in the mountain and forest region of the Empire, ten kilometers away from the Capital, and was underneath a cliffside mountain with a large clearing in front of it. The appearance of the base was a medium-large, marble-stone, castle-like base with multiple windows, providing an excellent view of the landscape or to let in a cool breeze.
The mountain and forest region was the perfect place for Night Raid's base to blend in, but there had been a few closed calls of the base being discovered by the Empire and Night Raid always made sure to kill the discoverers so that they won't report back to the Empire or else the base would be lost, something that Night Raid couldn't afford.
Night Raid has seven members in total, two men and five women, with each member being an assassin, having their own Teigu's and working with the Revolutionary Army. And since Night Raid was a group that was created, it was being led by a young woman name Najenda, who used to work for the Empire before she found out how corrupted it was, forcing her to leave and served the Revolutionary Army as a general. Her actions of serving the Revolutionary Army made her a wanted person and traitor to the Empire, and she didn't regret those actions at all. She was glad she did, even though she lost her eye and arm from battling a general she used to consider as a friend.
Whenever Night Raid receives a mission from the Revolutionary Army, they would head towards Night Raid's meeting room and listened to Najenda as she explains what the mission is about. When she's done finished explaining and ordered Night Raid go kill the target but only at night time, they'd nod their heads and leave the room while thinking about the mission and coming up with strategies to use.
In fact, the members of Night Raid were inside the meeting room at the very moment, except Najenda wasn't there since she had business with the Revolutionary Army, which made her most skilled assassin to be in charged, and the room was filled with confusion because they weren't sure what the meeting was about, except Leone. She was the one who called the meeting, something Night Raid was surprised, and it was she causing the confusion in the room.
When the meeting started, Leone didn't say anything at first since she was trying to keep her composure from breaking – the memory of smelling the Tyrant was still scaring her – but after a few minutes, her composure broke a bit and she had a look of fear in her golden eyes, something that caused her fellow assassins to give her concerned looks, while wondering what's making her so scared.
"Leone, are you okay?"
The assassin who asked Leone that question came from a very pretty, athletic-built, average-height, stoic-looking, young girl who was one of the youngest in the group. She had long, raven-black hair with shorter bangs styled in a hime-style in the front, which framed her heart-shape face, deathly pale skin and dark red eyes that were filled with concerned. Her outfit consisted of a black sleeveless shirt with a white collar and a red tie, a black pleated skirt with a red side skirt, a red belt, black socks and black shoes. She wore red gauntlets with black gloves underneath and in her hands was a katana sword.
This young girl was Akame, Night Raid's most skilled and deadliest assassin, the Black Angel of Death and wielder one of the most dangerous Teigu in the world, so dangerous that people would never touch or use. The One Cut Killer: Murasame.
"I'm fine, Akame, thanks for asking," Leone replied, giving the dark-hair girl a grateful look. "I'm just scared from what I have seen earlier in the Capital, which is the reason why I called this meeting."
"Does it have something to do with our mission?" Akame looked concerned that the matter Leone had to say will affect Night Raid's mission.
Leone shook her head, which eased Akame's worries. "No, Akame, it does not involve our mission. It's a different matter."
"Well, what is it, Leone? Quit being scared and spit it out already."
The assassin who said that in a rude tone came from a very cute, thin, petite-built, below-average, young girl who was the second youngest in the group, but the shortest since every assassin in Night Raid was tall, something she's jealous of. She had long, pink hair with twin sets of pigtails, each tied with a light pink ribbon, pale skin and pink eyes. Her outfit consisted of a pink long-sleeve shirt, a pink tied shawl with a high collar, a pink gown, black stockings with white straps that intercepted into an X-shape and pink shoes.
This young girl was Mine, Night Raid's most skilled gunslinger and wielder of the Roman Artillery: Pumpkin.
Leone felt a huge wave of annoyance inside her from what Mine just said to her and was about to send a heated retort when someone else beaten it to her.
"Now, Mine, there's no need to be rude. Leone needs a minute to gather herself before saying what she saw in Capital. I believe she is still scared from seeing it."
The assassin who scolded Mine for being rude came from a beautiful, slender-built, voluptuous, average-height, dim-witted, young woman who was one of the oldest in Night Raid. She had long, purple hair, pale skin and purple eyes that were behind a pair of glasses. She also had a small scar on her right cheek. Her outfit consisted of a long, sleeveless, lilac, black-trimmed, high-collared, cheongsam dress with a slit on the right side and a sideways diamond-shape in the middle, revealing her cleavage, detachable upper arm sleeves that were same color of the dress, high-thigh white socks and white boots
This young woman was Sheele, Night Raid's sort of mother figure, an airheaded person and wielder of the Cutter of Creation: Extase.
"Thank you, Sheele," Leone said, feeling her annoyance die away when Sheele scolded Mine, who look embarrassed of getting scolded.
"Leone, I don't want to be rude or anything, but I would like to know what you saw in the Capital that made you like this." Akame stated, wanting to know the matter Leone had to say. If this said matter was something big that was causing Leone to be this scared, which was the first time since the busty blonde never gets scared, then Night Raid would have to focus on what she was about to report…and take it out.
Knowing full well what's going to happened in the next moment, Leone took a deep breath and braced herself with the reactions. "A young man entered the Capital with the scent of Tyrant on him."
The room's atmosphere had changed from confusion to deathly silence, with every member in Night Raid widening their eyes to the size of dinner plates from what Leone had just said and all of them having the same emotions, which were disbelief, shock, fear, bafflement, gob-smacked and complete dread.
"Are you absolute sure what you sensed was real, Leone? Because if you're just joking around, it's not very funny."
The assassin who asked Leone that question in a demanding tone came from a rather tall, muscular, cool and calm, young man who was the second oldest in Night Raid. He had black hair that was combed up and styled into a heart-shape pompadour with a single bang falling, fair skin and blue eyes. His outfit consisted of a black shirt with green armor that covers the upper part of his chest and shoulders, white pants with a green belt and black boots.
This young man was Bulat, the One Hundred Man Slayer, Night Raid's strongest assassin and wielder of the Demon Armor: Incursio.
"I'm absolute sure what I'd sensed, Bulat, and don't even question me like that again." Leone snapped, standing up from her seat and gave a slightly harsh glare at Bulat, who was unfazed from the glare. "Otherwise, I'll kick your ass."
"Calm down, Leone, I'm sure Bulat didn't mean to offend you," Sheele said, trying to defuse the tension between Leone and Bulat. "We are just concerned of what you said. It could be a lie or something."
"I'm not a liar, Sheele, and you guys know I would never make this up. Do you really think of me as a fool?"
"No, we don't, Leone, but we're having trouble of believing your…report," Mine said with reluctant in her voice, obviously struggling on whether she should believe Leone's report or not.
"IT'S THE TRUTH! WHY DOESN'T ANYONE BELIEVE ME?!" Leone almost shouted that question because she was starting to become bewildered at her fellow assassins. Why was it so hard for them to believe about what she saw in the Capital? Are they not taking her seriously or is it because of her habit? Either way, she was starting to get very angry.
"Alright, let's discussed this topic later when everyone cools off, we don't want to say things we might regret."
The assassin who had decided to end the meeting was the final member of Night Raid and the third youngest of the group. He was an average-height, perverted, lean-built, young man with shoulder-length, green hair that covers his left eye, fair skin and green eyes. His outfit consisted of a long green jacket with a fur-trimmed hood over a white and red ringer shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.
This young man was Lubbock, Night Raid's tactician, Najenda's mentally proclaimed boyfriend and wielder of the Infinite Uses: Cross Tail.
"Like hell we are going to discuss this later, Lubbock!" Leone snarled, releasing a large amount of killing intent.
"Leone, I understand what you're trying to say – believe me, I do – but you are on the verge of releasing your temper and that's the last thing everyone needs. Why don't you go take a long bath and when you're cooled off, we can discuss more about this Tyrant-scented man?"
Leone didn't say anything but stormed out of the room, intending to do what Lubbock says and released her frustration onto the training dummies when she was done bathing. The poor dummies will be broken pieces by the time she was done with them.
(Flashback Ends; Back with Leone)
'I still can't believe those bastards didn't take me seriously when I reported the Tyrant-scented man, except for Akame! She believed me but no one else did! I knew it had to do with my habit of killing people for fun! If we do manage to meet this guy again in the future, I'm so going to rub it in their faces for doubting me!' Leone thought with fuming anger, releasing a small amount of killing intent from remembering the 'meeting' she called three days ago before quickly suppressing it and backed away the edge of the rooftop when she saw the young man suspiciously looked around. 'Shit! He must've sensed me! Better get out of here!' Not wanting to get spotted by the Tyrant-scented man, Leone turned around and bolted away.
'What the hell was that killing intent?' Tatsumi thought, still looking around to locate the source of the killing intent, even though he didn't know the source was gone. He knew the killing intent didn't belong to Esdeath since she was still sieging in the North and it didn't belong to any criminal since they don't know how to suppress killing intent. His only conclusion that the killing intent belongs to an assassin. 'It was filled with anger instead of sadistic and it seemed to be coming from one person. Could it be this assassin discovered what I am? About me being a half human/half Danger-Beast?'
The thought of his secret being discovered caused Tatsumi to become extremely worried. He did not want his secret to be discovered this early in the timeline because it could lead to disasters and the fact this assassin figured out what he was, a half human/half Danger-Beast, which is very rare thing since no human being has ever fused with a beast before, this assassin was very skilled instead of being a normal assassin.
Tatsumi needed to find this assassin – he wasn't sure if it was a male or female since he was only focusing on the killing intent – and wiped the memory about him being a half human/half Danger-Beast away before the said assassin can blabbed to either its friends or the Prime Minister. But deep down, he knew he would never find the assassin. The reason why was because he didn't have the chance to sense its presence since he was busy focusing on the killing intent.
'So much of sightseeing in the Capital,' Tatsumi thought with a slightly depressed sigh. 'I was hoping to enjoy it before I go meet that bitch tonight but looks like I have a change of plans. I might as well head back to the inn and grab my stuff so that I can prepare myself for tonight.'
With another sigh, Tatsumi turned around and began heading towards the inn he was staying at, hoping that his day wouldn't get any worse than it already is.
(Twenty Minutes Later; With Tatsumi)
"I was wrong, my day can get worse," Tatsumi grumbled under his breath, as he exited the inn with his supply bag on his back. It took him ten minutes to get back to the inn he was staying at to collect his stuff and it took another ten minutes to leave the inn because the inn keeper who was a young woman wasn't happy to see a handsome man leaving her inn. She had tried to get him to stay with different offers, one of them being a seductive offer, but when Tatsumi was firm on his decision to leave, the young woman all but shouted him to get out of her inn and never darken it again. "Not only someone discovered my secret this early in the timeline, but the inn keeper was furious at me for leaving her inn. Can this day get anymore worse?"
"Hello, are you new to the Capital?"
'That voice…it can't be,' Tatsumi thought with wide eyes, coming to a complete stop when he heard a female's voice, a female's voice he was very familiar with. 'Could it really be…her?' Slowly, as if being in a trance with tears pooling at the corner of his eyes, Tatsumi looked up to see a young woman standing in front of him, a young woman Tatsumi never thought he would see again. 'It is you…Leone!'
Leone hadn't changed at all when Tatsumi first met her; she was still the same Leone he knew in the previous timeline. Same blonde hair that was short and messy with two long tufts, same pale-skin tone, same golden eye color, same cheerful personality and same revealing outfit that showed off her curvaceous, beautiful, hourglass figure. If a different man was in Tatsumi's place, that said man would've ogled at Leone's attire. But Tatsumi was staring at Leone differently; he was staring at her with an expression of shock on his face.
Soon, the tears Tatsumi had in his eyes began streaming down his face and it greatly alarmed Leone, who had decided to gather courage and confront the Tyrant-scented man. Leone was expecting the man to ogled at her, not suddenly cry from seeing her. Did she did something that offended him or was it something else?
"I-I'm sorry for s-suddenly crying…" Tatsumi choked out, rubbing his face with his jacket sleeve, his hood still concealing his face. "It's just…y-you look like someone I used to know; someone I considered as a b-b-big s-sis…"
"Oh," Leone said, feeling a wave of sadness inside her. She must've resembled the woman who this young man before her as a big sister and couldn't help but feel pity for him. "I'm sorry."
"It's fine," Tatsumi said, taking a deep breath to calm himself before placing a hand over his chest, right where his heart was. "Even though she may be gone, she will always be with me in my heart." 'Actually, she's right in front of me but I'm not going to say that.'
"You must be really closed to her," Leone stated with a small smile on her face.
"I was…"
There was a bit of uncomfortable silence between Tatsumi and Leone, neither of them don't know what to say. The former was still having trouble to believe what he was seeing, even though it was real, while the latter was trying to get a look at the man's face since he still had his hood up.
"I'm new here to the Capital." Tatsumi suddenly said, breaking the uncomfortable silence.
"Huh?"
"The answer to your question you asked me. I'm new here to the Capital." Tatsumi reached up and pulled his hood down, revealing his face. "And my name is Tatsumi."
A tint of redness dusted on Leone's face as she observed the now revealed face of the Tyrant-scented man who was known as Tatsumi. The face was handsome like the body with no ounces of baby fat and was sculpted into perfection with sharp features. His brown hair was neck-length, messy and spiky with some of the hair swept to the left side in the front and his skin was a bit fair. His most noticeable feature was his very bright, piercing emerald-green eyes.
'Tatsumi's eyes are very beautiful,' Leone thought, feeling the blush on her face become redder from staring at Tatsumi's emerald-green eyes. They were so beautiful and fierce that she could've sworn she saw a blazing fire in them. 'I could just stare into them for all eternity.' However, her blush turned into a pout when she realized something. 'If I have to look at those beautiful eyes, I have to look upwards since he's taller than me! That's not fair!'
"So, what's your name, gorgeous?" Tatsumi asked with a sly smirk, placing a hand on Leone's face and gently began tracing it, wanting to feel the softness of her skin. He knew he was being bold and stupid of doing this to Leone, but he wanted to have some payback for two reasons. One was for all the teasing she did to him in the previous timeline and the other was for stealing his money when he first entered the Capital.
Leone's thoughts became broken when she felt Tatsumi's hand on her face, causing another blush to form on her face, and her breath hitched when Tatsumi began tracing it with gentleness. Her first thought was to punch him for doing that – only she was allowed to touch people – but she just didn't have the heart to do it when she felt warmness coming from his hand. It made her feel safe, protected even, and she wanted more of this warmth.
Without knowing it, Leone leaned her head into the hand and began rubbing against it, while closing her eyes to let out mewls of happiness. Tatsumi was surprised to hear noises coming from her but didn't stop what he was doing. On the contrary, it further increased his boldness to do something what no other men had tried to do before.
Still having one hand on Leone's face and continuing tracing it, Tatsumi used his other arm to wrap around her waist and pulled her into his hard body, causing Leone to snap her eyes wide open when she was pulled into something very hard and warm. Her face became redder than before, putting a certain assassin's red eyes to shame, and she raised her hand up to slap Tatsumi for hugging her. No one was allowed to even hug her as well! But instead of doing that, Leone used both arms to wrap them around Tatsumi's chest and pressed her body into him, making the brown-hair assassin almost moan in pleasure when he felt two large and soft objects pressed against his chest.
For a while, there was silence as Tatsumi and Leone continued to embrace each other, with the latter resting her head on Tatsumi's shoulders to enjoy more of the warmth she was feeling and the former rubbing Leone on the head with his other hand, but when the silence started to become a bit uncomfortable again, Leone ended the silence.
"I should be furious at the action you did, Tatsumi," Leone quietly stated with no heat in her voice, getting rid of the bright blush on her face and still having her head on Tatsumi's shoulder. "Not many men are bold enough to touch me or even hug me. I would've beat them to a pulp if they tried to do it." It was true, no other men had dared tried to hug her or even touch her. She would gone through with her threat of beating the men up.
"But I'm not one of those men, right?" Tatsumi asked, same tone as Leone's and already knowing the answer.
"No, you're not, Tatsumi, and that's a great thing. But just because you're not like most men, that doesn't mean you are going to hug me or touch me like that again; you only get a free pass. You got that, mister?" Leone reluctantly pulled her head away from Tatsumi's shoulder and step backwards to give the said man a stern look. However, she wrapped her arms around Tatsumi's neck.
Tatsumi wrapped his free arm around Leone's waist to join with the other arm. "I'll take the first part as a compliment, and I'll answer the second part with a yes."
"Good, then I don't have to threaten you if you touch me or hug me again."
Tatsumi let out a chuckle from what Leone said and the said woman surprisingly laughed with him. Soon, silence reigned of the duo, and they couldn't help but stare at each other's eyes, while having thoughts to themselves.
'I can't believe that not only I'm talking to Leone again after eight years since I was sent back in time but I'm flirting with her and hugging her. That, and I'm touching her this early!' Tatsumi thought, feeling a sense of proudness inside him from what he was doing. In the previous timeline, he had never done any of those things because he wasn't sure how to deal with women and now that he knows after gaining his powers, he was going to enjoy teasing the life out of Mine, Leone and Chelsea. 'But I'm not complaining about it since I'm loving it!'
'This isn't what I'd planned when I decided to confront the Tyrant-scented man,' Leone thought, as she began thinking about the 'confrontation' she was doing right now. 'Not that I'm complaining since I'm having a great time. Not only he's flirting with me and touching me, but he's getting rid of my fear. I should definitely spend time with this guy in order to repay him, but I still need to know if he really has the blood of Tyrant on him. If he doesn't have the blood on him and had fused with the beast…then I would have to take him out, which is something I don't want to do since I'm starting to like him.' Leone was brought back to the present when she heard Tatsumi's voice.
"I don't want to be rude or anything, gorgeous lady," Tatsumi said, smirking at the blush on Leone's face. "But are we going to stand here all day instead of like going to a bar and talk?"
"Why, Tatsumi, are you asking me out on a date?" Leone asked with a teasing smirk on her face, while her heart began pounding a bit faster than normal. "I never gone on a date before with a man, let alone a stranger. What do you see in me that interests you?"
"I would call this 'date' you prefer as a get-to-know-you because I find you interesting, beautiful, fun, a caring person and a loyal friend to help those who need help."
'Damn it, he made me blush again, which is quite baffling since no one can make me blush, not even Lubbock and his perverted methods.' Leone thought, as a blush crept onto her face for the fourth time. She had never blush that much when she was out in public or in Night Raid, but she had to admit, she was liking the compliments Tatsumi was giving her, especially the beautiful and loyal friend part. 'But for some reason, I like it when Tatsumi makes me blush. It makes my heart filled with happiness...and love. Maybe I should accept his get-to-know-you so that I can learn more about him.'
"Alright, Tatsumi, I'll accept your get-to-know-you, even though it's pretty much a date. Lucky for you, I know a great bar that serves great food and drinks." Leone said, much to Tatsumi's great surprised. He never thought Leone would agree to it since he was a stranger but was happy that she accepted it. "But before we can head to the bar, you have to do one thing for me."
"And what would that be, gorgeous lady?" Tatsumi asked, giving Leone a dashing and charming smile.
"It's quite simple, really," Leone said, giggling at the smile Tatsumi had on his face. It really was handsome. "All you have to do…is ask me my name."
Whatever Tatsumi was expected to do, that last part was not what he expected. "Wait, what?"
"Oh, come on, Tatsumi, surely you can't be that dense, right? I just said that if you want me to go with you on a get-to-know-you, you have to ask me my name."
"Sorry, Leone, I was just surprised by what you said," Tatsumi said with a bit of defense in his voice, his face flushing red in embarrassment that caused Leone to let out a bark of laughter. As he turned his head away to hide the growing redness on his face, he was completely unaware of what he just said. Once his face was back to its normal color, Tatsumi turned to face a grinning Leone to ask the question he was supposed to do. "May I ask what your name is?"
"There we go, that's much better," Leone replied, greatly enjoying seeing Tatsumi embarrassed. She can instantly tell this date was going to be fun as hell. She just needs to play her cards to get more rising out of him. "My name is Leone, Tatsumi, and I have a feeling that we are going to have a great time together during our date. So, without further ado, let's head towards the bar I mentioned."
With that in mind, Leone grabbed one of Tatsumi's hands and began guiding him towards the bar she knows, intending to spend time with him and get answers about the Tyrant. Like Tatsumi, she was completely unaware that he said her name a moment ago.
'Oh, we will have a great time on our get-to-know-you, Leone,' Tatsumi thought with a shark-like grin on his face, as he let Leone dragged him towards the bar they were heading. 'We will have a great time indeed.'
Alright, I finally got the second part chapter done. The next one will be the finale of Back at The Capital and the finale part chapter will be amazing. This part chapter was supposed to end when Tatsumi meets and accepts Aria's bodyguard job, but I decided to end the part chapter there because I feel like there's enough words for you guys to enjoy.
I want to say that I am very, very sorry for the lack of chapter updates in this story, I didn't mean to let you all wait this long. The last time I updated this story was in June, and it's been four months since a new chapter came out. I haven't abandoned the story if you guys are wondering, I will never abandon this story. I just haven't had time to work on this since I had other stories to write and as I said in the previous chapter, I want to twist moments to make people in the story suspicious or surprised, like how Leone was surprised to see Tatsumi crying from seeing her.
I'm very sorry for the lack of updates and I hope this part chapter makes up for the time.
Write a review if you like this story and enjoy the chapter.
