Here is the twenty-fourth chapter in this story released when I wanted it to be released based of my release process for this series. Alas the time has come where I don't think I can maintain a weekly upload for this series as the real world is starting to kick up for me and my 5th story in a series I began in 2020 is about to start in 11 days' time which will add to my workload so from now on uploads will be a little more infrequent. I will still aim for two per month unless I am away, which will happen over the summer, but from now on I will only be uploading once this story and my two other active stories that involve Black Clover as part of the crossover are ready to be uploaded together as a trio. That is all I have for the administrative stuff I have for y'all and while there are no questions to answer there are two guest reviews to respond to that I will do now before we see how the third day of the Grand Magic Games ends. Do keep them coming as your support is the best motivation for me to keep producing chapters at this kind of rate.
To KGBeastboy (guest), thank you for the recommendations, I have given them a cursory look and based on style, English voice cast, and premise D-Frag will likely make my to watch list. I already read Fire Force, just enjoyed volume 32 which came out the other day in English, so I know it well. As for the others, if I like the look of them and they have an anime with an English dub I'll start there as my preference is always to start with the anime and then read the subsequent material when I finish the anime. If it doesn't have an English dub, which 3 don't, then I'll just read the manga from the start. I will say that style both drawing and anime does play a big factor in my decisions on series and right now I'm building a backlog to get into because of my quest to catch up to the current One Piece dub location. Started that epic at the end of January and currently in the mid-800s of 952 dubbed episodes so it's going to be a while. Do keep reading and enjoying my work.
To Brayden (guest), thank you for your review and support of my work. On your point about Noelle, I've gotten a few similar requests to that and it is the majority opinion for her so it may just happen but I will naturally not say how or even when that might be the case. In terms of confessing, that is a possibility but first Noelle has to accept and confess to herself that she loves Asta and deal with that first but I do like that idea so it may happen, this story will run through 100 year Quest as that is within the 6 year banishment period so there is plenty of time for this to happen. The Sister Lily stuff is annoying but this is a Shonen series, Asta can't really notice the other girls until near the end. 3 run throughs of the anime is impressive but I do suggest reading the manga after the anime ends as there's a lot more good stuff there. Right now there are print volumes in English up to near the end of the Spade Invasion arc while the remaining chapters that have yet to be compiled into volumes are available on the western publisher's sight for a small monthly subscription and they are well worth a read. Do keep reading and enjoying my work.
That is it for pre-chapter note so it is time to end it so that y'all can sit back and enjoy the twenty-fourth chapter in Black Bull Banishment.
Disclaimer: I own nothing related to these two great animes.
Chapter 24: Pint Sized Grit
"Let's get the last battle of the day started!" Mato said excitedly as the final battle of the third day of the Grand Magic Games officially began and Shelia and Wendy ran out onto the battlefield as the Black Bulls watched.
"And here it is folks, the wrap up to an exciting day as two of our youngest and cutest competitors head out." Chapati said to the roaring crowd. "First from Lamia Scale it's…oh no poor Shelly welly!"
"Meh, Marie is cuter than both of them combined." Gauche said as he pulled out a picture of his sister to look at and got a nosebleed as he smiled at it.
"Both of you are more than little creepy." Noelle said with a slight cringe at the commentator's statement and Gauche's follow-up that similar responses from several Black Bulls. "But the first point is fair, I do feel bad for the girl falling over like that."
The Black Bulls just nodded at that because the reason for Chapati's statement was that Shelia had tripped over a loose rock as she ran out onto the arena floor and proceeded to face plant into the ground. Well chest plant to be more precise as her surprisingly ample bosom for a 15 year old cushioned the fall a little though she still hit her face on the ground.
Clearly Wendy, who was running out at the same pace as Sheila, was worried as well and called out to the other girl to see if she was ok only to trip over a rock herself and do the same thing only without the chest cushion as she was 12. It resulted in both girls were lying on their chests on the battlefield as the crowd laughed at the unintended comedy.
"Um…" Mimosa said unsure how to address what she was seeing as the girls raised their heads up and chatted a bit while smiling at each other despite the situation. "Are they ok?"
"Should be, both are strong from what I've gathered so don't let their age or size fool you, they can handle a fall no problem I'd say." Nero said. "Wendy's the Sky Dragon Slayer so she's got a lot of power and here age isn't as much of a thing as it is back home so her being under 15 doesn't limit her maximum potential the way it does for us when we don't have a grimoire to bring it out."
"This is certainly going to the cutest wittle battle of the games ever!" Chapati said his voice now really creepy as he seemed to be moving in his seat. "You have fun out there girls, give you're all alright?"
"Except with that, that's not good at all." Nero said as several of the Black Bulls shuddered. "It's bad enough that Shelia is only 15 but Wendy's 12 or 13 so that's not acceptable."
"Agreed so best to ignore him." Yami said as they ignored the commentator who was told off by the other two as well. "Focus on the girls, they may be small and young but their ki is strong and determined. Neither's going to go down easy so this could well be the best battle of the day."
"What kind of magic does Shelia use." Noelle said. "Any idea?"
"No and that's the confusing thing." Nero said surprising them as usually she was in the know of these things. "I've sensed their magic during my times in their Guild Hall and it's easily the third strongest in the Guild other than their Guild Master behind Jura and Lyon but it's an odd sense, one that was unlike any I'd sensed before, and they've never mentioned what it is while I was there."
"Really?" Mimosa asked. "That's odd."
"I'm not there often, my focus was Fairy Tail after all, so I never heard what it was but I got a decent sense for it and it's unique for sure." Nero said. "The closest to it that I've felt was the magic that Olga from Sabertooth uses. Regardless, I'd say she's easily on par with a high noble for her age, maybe even a royal, so she's the kind of person who'd easily make a Magic Knight Squad once she got a grimoire. Same for Wendy but her magic is understandable to some extent as we know a little about this Dragon Slayer Magic that they've got here and even seen some of the Fire Dragon Slayer Magic in action back at the magic ball."
"So a complete unknown who's part of the team that came second last year without her." Noelle said thinking on Nero's analysis. "She's going to be strong then which means we should really watch what she can do."
"No doubt." Nero said with a nod. "How much and if Wendy can hold out is another story though. The Captain's right, this will likely be the best battle of the day."
"Alright folks everything is set so let's begin the final match of the day." Chapati said having seemingly calmed down a bit as the gong sounded. "Begin!"
The Black Bulls just watched for a moment as the girls didn't attack right away. They seemed to be sizing each other up as a decent gust of wind seemed to run between them and suddenly a pair of pale blue magic circles appeared on either side of Wendy showing a large amount of magic power. A moment later she launched an attack with her Sky Dragon Slayer Magic.
The attack was a series of powerful blasts of wind that slashed through the air. Asta for one knew Wind Magic well, it was Yuno's magic after all, so he could gage it pretty well having grown up experiencing it more than any other kind of magic other than Sister Lily's Water Magic and it was strong though not at Yuno's level but stronger than that Eye of the Midnight Sun bastard who'd put a few holes in him and Leo during the attack on the Capital. Regardless, it was an impressive display of magic.
However, Sheila showed her own skills by flipping back complete with a one handed handspring off the ground to avoid it as she began her own spell as she moved, something that seemed necessary as the spell had a long incantation. When she was done speaking she showed that she too used Wind Magic as she blasted wind right back at Wendy only her wind magic was a distinctive black color and the spell she used was called 'Sky God, Boreas.'
"No way." Gordon said his eyes wide at the sight as the vortex of black wind blasted at Wendy but she leapt up and managed to control the wind herself to evade it somewhat before landing on the ground and blasting away the remnants of the wind with her own magic showing that she was unharmed and impressing Sheila in the process. "It can't be but there's nothing else that would produce magic like that."
"What?" Asta asked as the match suddenly picked up considerably as Sheila sent out another attack that seemed to encase Wendy and blast her into the air which caused Sheila to follow her for a finishing blow but Wendy again used her own ability to stabilize herself and then counter with her own Sky Dragon Slayer Magic that Sheila managed to mitigate somewhat but both girls fell to the ground to land in crouches on it. "What is it?"
"That black wind, there's only one kind of magic in this world that is black like that." Gordon explained as both girls let out a roar attack at each other sending out swirling vortexes of clear and black wind at the same time from their mouths that clashed with each other and blew up with enough force to send wind all over the stadium and caused most to hunker down and brace from the attack while any girl with a loose skirt desperately held it down as it blew in the wind. "There's only one thing that that Lamia Scale girl can be."
"What?" Mimosa asked as the wind settled to reveal a standing Sheila and a kneeling Wendy with the former apparently fine and the latter clearly hurt with torn cloths and a few scuff marks on her body. "What is she?"
"A God Slayer." Gordon said getting some gasps, they'd addressed this regarding Olga's magic as they'd theorized that he was using Lightning God Slayer Magic. "More precisely, she's a Sky God Slayer as that's the magic she's using. It was harder to tell with Olga but with Sheila I'm certain that that is the magic she's using."
"No way." Asta said his eye wide. "That's unreal."
"God Slaying Magic, like the book you have." Mimosa said as she thought on the MPF earlier and realized the similar black traits to Olga's magic when compared to Sheila's. "I'm definitely going to read it now after seeing a second God Slayer in action."
"It is, it's a Lost Magic with few known who can use it." Gordon said as Wendy slowly got up showing her injuries but not being stopped by them. "To think that there would be not one but two God Slayers in the games, it's unbelievable. I know that we've still not fully confirmed with Olga but I for one am certain that he uses Lightning God Slayer Magic."
"Well that can be determined later, this is more pressing and does show us one very useful thing." Nero said as Wendy and Sheila began to chat with each other on the battlefield for some reason while Chapati continued to be weird about it and get chastised by Yajima in the process. "I was wondering if we'd get to see this kind of matchup and despite not expecting it we have, this is fascinating to watch."
"What did you learn?" Noelle asked looking at the other girl. "You've picked up on something, haven't you?"
"Yes, it's clear from this battle that there is at least one kind of same elemental magic that a Dragon Slayer can be affected by." Nero said. "God Slayer Magic of the same element or as we'd call it attribute."
"Yes, I was hoping to see a God Slayer and a Dragon Slayer with the same element go at it but with the rarity of the former and the only slightly more common usage of the latter I didn't expect it but here we are, a Sky God Slayer and a Sky Dragon Slayer going at it." Gordon said as Sheila suddenly attacked with a series of wind spirals that slammed into Wendy. "It's said that a Dragon Slayer is immune to his or her element so for Natsu that would fire while for Wendy it would be Sky more likely Air and Wind Magic as we'd understand it. Laxus being an artificial Lighting Dragon Slayer I am not so sure about though as the whole immunity I read about was regarding pure first generation Dragon Slayers."
"Luck can probably test that should he fight Laxus out while Magna can see if our Flame Magic is included in the Fire Dragon Slayer's immunity." Nero said as Wendy mitigated some of Sheila's magic with her own but the counter didn't reach Sheila and she was suddenly in the wind again toughing it out. "Now the question is though, can Sky Dragon Slayer Magic affect a Sky God Slayer?"
"Tough question, we know so little about the God Slayers that I can't even say if they have the immunity that Dragon Slayers have, though of course Luck can test that out as well." Gordon said as Wendy was forced back but remained standing as Sheila's attack came to an end and then stood tall before opening her mouth and took what looked like a long, deep, breath. "Oh and now we get to see a Dragon Slayer eating her element, this is new for sure."
"That's what she's doing?" Asta asked confused as Sheila seemed to do the same thing, their inhalations so strong that you could actually see the air flowing into their mouths as they consumed it. "They've just got great lungs it seems."
"Don't be an idiot Dorksta." Noelle said. "They're not breathing in, they're, um…"
"Eating the air itself." Gordon said. "Slayer Magic, be it Dragon, God, or any other kind that might exist out there that we've not heard about yet, allows the user to replenish his or her strength by eating the element they know though they can't eat any of it that they themselves create. I knew that to be the case with Dragon Slayers but I wasn't sure on the God Slayer front until now. It's part of what makes this kind of magic so strong. Seeing it is something else, especially with an element like Sky."
"Do you think the air is tasty to them?" Charmy asked as she watched.
"Not sure, ask if we meet them or any of the other Slayers out there." Gordon said. "It might be or it might just be a technique and they don't taste a thing with it."
"Regardless, it shows how serious both are." Nero said. "And that this kind of Slayer Magic is different because of the ready source of air so they pretty much have permanent and continuous access to their element so long as they are not underwater, underground, or in an enclosed space. This match just gets more and more intriguing."
"Their determination is only increasing, their ki shows it." Yami said and Asta nodded at that as suddenly a magic circle appeared beneath Wendy's feet as she finished eating her fill of air. "They're giving it their all just like you should so watch closely, this is far from over."
The others nodded as they fell silent with the surge of magic coming from Wendy as a storm of wind surrounded the girls making it hard to see though it was Dragon and not God Slayer Magic as the wind was clear even if it was so strong and powerful that it was visible. It lasted a moment before an intense blast of air, one that could almost match what Yuno could produce in Asta's mind, blasted out from Wendy and at Sheila. With nowhere to go Sheila took the blast head on and was thrown back by it as the wind died down and she hit the ground hard, bouncing a bit before rolling to lie motionless on her side.
"Well looks like Sky God Slayer Magic isn't immune to Sky Dragon Slayer Magic." Gordon noted as everyone processed the moment of Sheila being down while Wendy panted were she was having clearly used up a lot of magic in the process. "That was impressive."
"It was, only Yuno would be better with wind and that's not just because he has the Wind Spirit with him." Asta said. "So is it over?"
"Looks like it." Noelle said as Mato stepped in from where he was to get between the girls and announce the end of the match in favor of Fairy Tail Team A. "Another win for…"
As Noelle was speaking so too was Mato to announce the winner but suddenly Sheila interrupted him and a few of the Black Bulls at least gasped as she rose to her feet, her clothes torn and a few bruises on her body as magic swirled around her. The girl wasn't out and as they watched in amazement she healed herself while Mato apologized for almost ending the match when he did and the match continued as all of Sheila's wounds healed up.
"Oh my, she can heal mid battle with her magic." Mimosa said. "And so quickly and efficiently as well. That's a game changer for sure, I've never seen Healing Magic like that before."
"It really is." Nero said. "So that's the power of a Sky God Slayer. I'd heard in my spying that Wendy's magic can heal others which is extremely rare here and makes sense as some consider Healing Magic a form of Lost or Ancient Magic which Sky Dragon Slaying Magic is but still, this is different from the stories I've heard regarding Wendy's healing."
"It basically means that she can't be beat in a battle unless the magic is nullified, she runs out of magic power, or she's knocked clean out before she can heal." Asta said stars in his eyes. "Wow, she's really strong. Facing her would be great practice for overcoming Yuno."
"I know, both are." Luck said with a grin. "I'd love to fight them, would be a lot of fun."
"This is bad for Fairy Tail, isn't it?" Noelle asked. "If the other girl can heal herself during the battle then how can she win? That was a powerful attack but it also felt like it was her best."
"She may not be able to win." Gordon said as he thought on it. "But there are still points, she could hold out for a tie."
"But she's only what, 12? 13?" Noelle asked. "How can she manage that against someone who can heal her own wounds? It looks like it's a royal verses a commoner."
"And I've beating a royal, Mimosa brother." Asta said as the battle fell into a lull for a moment as the girls recovered a little. "Knocked him clean out, twice. With the help from Zora both times."
"I know, it was amazing." Mimosa said with a smile and a look at Asta that Noelle didn't like at all. "He totally deserved it as well; I've never seen my brother look so good as he did after you knocked him out for a second time."
"True it was fun to take him down several pegs but this girl isn't like that pompous arrogant wannabe pretty boy." Zora said as he looked down at the battle. "This one is more like that crazy lady minus the battle crazy in terms of power. There may be no way for that Fairy Tail girl to hold out."
"Well she's going to try." Asta said. "I can feel it in her ki, she faltered slightly at seeing that her opponent could heal herself but her will is back and even more determined than ever. She's giving this her all and won't give up even if she takes more damage and can't win. She'll see this through to the end be it the time expiring or Sheila finally managing to win it."
"Asta's right." Yami said as the girls seemed to pause and exchange some words, likely Sheila trying to persuade Wendy to give up but she rejected that and her ki surged even more with that rejection. "That girl's got more grit and determination than most people twice or triple her age and experience. Julius joined Fairy Tail because they were worthy, he wouldn't otherwise, and it's clear that they are something more and that bleeds into every member. It's a lot like how you lot got your act together before this banishment because of Asta's example only this is older and deeper. No matter what, I don't think a Fairy will back down for anything short of total defeat so bear that in mind should you face them in battle."
"Yes sir." Several of the Squad said and Luck added a nod of confirmation from his own battle with a member of Fairy Tail.
"Good now focus on the battle and what is to come." Yami said with a drag on his cigarette. "What we've seen so far was just the beginning, this fight has only just started."
The Black Bulls nodded and suddenly there was a surge of magic from Sheila as she held her arms high and whirlwinds of black wind appeared there whipping around as she showed off more magic than she had so far in the match. This was clearly one of her best spells and suddenly the magic seemed to change to form black feathers that rose up in the air before Sheila brought her arms down and sent the magic at Wendy in a swirling spiral of wind.
It was powerful and strong and Wendy couldn't avoid it, only get her arms up to block it, which she seemed to though that couldn't be the case as the magic blew over and past her with barely a mark on the younger girl. It was a miss and the whole crowd were surprised by that, none more so than Sheila herself.
"What just happened?" Asta asked confused. "She missed? How? She's shown really good control until now."
"That is the question for sure." Nero said. "And one that I can't answer. Wendy had to have done something, right?"
"I felt her use magic but I don't know what it was." Luck said helpfully. "Hard to really be precise right now with so many people in the stadium so there's a lot of mana in the air."
"I have an idea, at least to what might have caused it." Mimosa said getting all their attention. "In terms of why she missed that is."
"And that is?" Noelle asked.
"Sheila and Wendy are healers just like me so I understand that magic really well." Mimosa explained as she got into her theory. "And from what I saw, it's clear that Sheila can heal herself physically so she can keep fighting but that doesn't necessarily replenish already spent energy as well."
"It doesn't?" Asta asked confused.
"In my experience that kind of healing doesn't." Mimosa said. "Healing Magic, at least for me, works to heal everything but there's only so much that can be done when it comes to personal energy and stamina so a quick healing like that likely wouldn't be able to replenish it. Course I could be totally wrong in that regard but that is the most logical explanation."
"For the miss?" Noelle asked.
"Indirectly yes." Mimosa said. "I can't say for certain but the most likely scenario is that Sheila's not as healed up as we would think. It might be due to the stamina loss that Sheila has already suffered, that's my own personal theory, or it could be due to internal wounds that she can't heal as well that caused her enough pain to throw her attack off, or it could even be that Wendy's healing magic can restore stamina but not heal herself which is the opposite and she healed Sheila to throw her off by actually boosting her power beyond what Sheila was expecting. The last one though is the least likely in my opinion given that it would help in the long run."
"Perhaps though the theory of different types of Slayers of the same element being able to do different but similar things with their magic could work." Gordon said thinking on what Mimosa had said. "I shall do research on it and I highly recommend you read that book on Plant God Slaying Magic, Mimosa, it may be of some help to you."
"I will, seeing the magic firsthand makes me want to know more about it even if I can't learn it myself." Mimosa said as Wendy countered the attack with a leap and some Sky Dragon Magic that was clearly some kind of close combat magic. "But there is still a fight going on to watch so I'll look at it tonight."
The others didn't respond to this as there was a fight and they saw that the wound Wendy had caused Sheila when Sheila blocked the attack was quickly healed but she followed it up with a kick that Sheila matched and their legs clashed together with more wind and power being generated around them. Both girls held that for a moment before they leapt back to land on the ground.
That lasted for only a brief moment as Chapati commentated on it before both lunged at each other once more and began to exchange a flurry of close combat magical moves only differentiated by the colors of the magic they used. Which was useful as it allowed them to watch what was going on as the Battle of the Sky Slayers as the Black Bulls would dub it afterwards kicked up a gear.
Words and comments were no longer needed as the Black Bulls and the whole stadium watched in awe as the two small, young, girls, unleashed themselves on each other in a furious duel of Slayer Magic, raw power, and tiny fists. Neither girl gave an inch as they duked it out to the stunned amazement of the crowd and their own Guilds who they were fighting for with everything that they had. This really showed as they kept going at it without stopping all the way to the bell despite Sheila able to heal.
The entire time Wendy never gave up no matter how hard she was hit or how many time Sheila healed herself, she stuck through it all the way until the end and when the bell went and the dust that had been kicked up by the fight both girls during their latest clash settled it showed that both of them were still standing on their feet. They were hunched over, their cloths torn but nothing indecent thankfully, and panting from utter exhaustion confirming that Sheila couldn't heal her lost stamina and in Wendy's case physical wounds as well but the bell had rung and she was still standing and that was all that mattered.
"And there it is, you know what that sound means, the time limit for the final match has been reached!" Chapati announced and the crowd let out a huge cheer at that. "That is it folks! For the second time today a battle has ended in a draw. As such, Lamia Scale and Fairy Tail Team A have scored 5 points each."
"Now that is what I want to see out of all of you, you knuckleheads can learn a lot form those girls down there." Yami said as the match officially ended and he puffed on his latest cigarette. "Both of them pushed past their limits to fight despite the fact that one can heal herself physically and ensured that they didn't go down. That is especially true for the Fairy Tail girl, she really surpassed her limits to force a tie as I don't think she could have won that fight so her only hope was to outlast the time limit. She truly earned those points."
"They are seriously strong, both of them." Mimosa said her eyes wide as they all ignored anymore commentary for the moment. "They're really something else. The magic here can teach us so much."
"It already has but even after two years we're constantly learning more." Gordon said as Wendy collapsed to her knees now that the fight was over and she no longer had to push herself to stay in it. "This battle really showed it."
"And it was a true battle." Asta said with a grin as they watched Sheila approach Wendy and kneel down to heal her physical wounds. "Those two had no animosity for each other, they were fighting for their own sakes and that of their Guilds which is just how these battles should be. They didn't hold back and gave it their all to the very end. Captain Yami's right, we can learn a lot from them though no one used a sword so I'm a bit limited in what I can take away from it other than the determination I just saw."
"I'll give it to them; they didn't quit or back down." Noelle said as the girls got up and Sheila held out her hand to Wendy which Wendy took and they shook in the middle of the battlefield smiling at each other. "It was kinda like watching Asta minus the life threatening wounds and loud yelling though I don't get the ending. Why are they shaking hands?"
"Hey, I don't always almost die when I fight." Asta said though no one believe him as they'd yet to see proof of that. "As for the end, those girls just fought each other with everything they had and neither lost nor backed down. That's going to forge a bond between them kinda like how I befriend most of the people I fight. Just watch, they're going to be really close friends from now on."
"I see, that does make sense." Mimosa said as Chapati commented on the sweetness of the ending as the girls kept holding hands. "Oddly, that was a fun battle to watch. Strangely wholesome and by far the best of the day in terms of what you'd expect from battles in the Grand Magic Games."
"True a rarity it seems and a good one to end the day especially after that one right before." Noelle said. "Though the cheaters were exposed and easily defeated which was good."
"So the third day is over and what a day we've seen." Chapati said interrupting anymore chatter as Shelia and Wendy finally ended their handshake left the battlefield together, their intense battle have bonded them the way only beating each other to a pulp and not defeating the other could and this began their deep friendship just as Asta had theorized. "Erza shocked us all by taking out the Pandemonium Castle all on her own, Cana then produced a spell that was off the charts to top the MPF decider, little Wendy showed her grit against Shelly welly, and to top it all off Laxus defeated all of Raven Tail and unmasked their cheating and that's just what Fairy Tail did today."
"It was certainly a defining day for them." Yajima said. "They reminded us of how strong they once were but I for one knew that they would turn things around."
"It was intriguing to see but there were other great performances as well." Lahar said. "The two ties were very impressive as it showed the determination of all involved in those battles and the MPF showed four scores that I'd never seen before. Fairy Tail may have dominated but the other Guilds also showed off as well today."
"All true and as such let's look at the scores at the conclusion of the third day." Chapati said as lacrima scoreboards appeared around the colosseum for all to see. "First off Raven Tail has been disqualified so they are no longer leading the scores and we only have 7 teams left in the Grand Magic Games. This means that Sabertooth has reclaimed the top spot that they know so well with a solid showing in the MPF and a battle victory and now have 32 points. With 18 on the day, Fairy Tail Team B has leaped all the way up to second place and now have 30 points while the Black Bulls round out our top 3 with 28 points following their first failure to win an event and first battle that they didn't lose."
"Between history in the Games over the past few years and the what we've seen so far this year I'd say that it's no surprise that Sabertooth and the Black Bulls are still in the top 3 at this stage." Yajima said. "And I always had faith in Fairy Tail to pull it back and we've seen that with both their teams."
"Very true as Fairy Tail Team A now has 27 points so is tied for 4th with Lamia Scale, another tie for them after they tied in that last battle." Chapati said. "And to round it out in tied 6th with 23 points is Mermaid Heel and Blue Pegasus who've had a really bad day that caused them to slip in the rankings."
"It happens, 1 point on the day is not a death nail as we've seen the comebacks from the Fairy Tail Teams who ended the first day on 1 and 0 points respectively so they shouldn't be too disheartened by that result." Yajima said. "And there are only 9 points in it so the fourth day could really change things up."
"Very true seeing as we've seen a total shakeup today thanks to stunning performances and a cheating scandal." Chapati said. "So hopefully tomorrow is just as good. However, for now we are done so we bid you farewell and thank you to our guest commentator Lahar for his insights today."
"Thank you for having me." Lahar said.
"And with that the third day is over." Chapati said officially closing the third day of the Grand Magic Games. "We will see you tomorrow for the penultimate day of the Grand Magic Games."
"Alright it's over, we did a little worse than the other days despite not losing in the battles this time so I expect better tomorrow." Yami said as he exhaled smoke from his latest drag on his cigarette while the crowd around them began to leave the colosseum. "Don't fail me."
"Yes sir." The team said.
"Good now let's get back to the tavern and celebrate another good day and the downfall of Raven Tail." Yami said as he looked at Finral. "Finral, if you will."
Finral nodded and created a portal back to the tavern and the Black Bulls filed into it to head back and enjoy the night at the tavern and prepare for the next day's event and tag battle. They may have only gotten 8 points today but they didn't lose the battle and were still in the top 3 with only 4 points separating them from the top so they were still well within striking distance. Tomorrow was another day and the Black Bulls would be ready for it as the Grand Magic Games moved into the home stretch.
Princess Hisui rested on the window ledge in her room in the palace looking out over Crocus and the night's sky deep in thought. She wasn't meeting with the man from the future tonight, he had things that he needed to do to prepare for the coming attack, and besides, she needed this moment to think on that impending attack and her own preparations for it.
A few days ago she'd thought that his predictions of the attack was wrong as his prediction that Quatro Cerberus would make the Grand Magic Games didn't come true, the first prediction that he'd made a mistake on, so it had given her hope that the attack wouldn't come. Alas that hope had been a false one as it turned out that the reason for the mistake was due to an unpredictable outside force from another world that they didn't know existed.
That had been confirmed by the man from the future when he spied on the reason for the mistake, the Black Bull Guild, the first night and told her last night about it. He couldn't have predicted this because it hadn't happened the last time so the attack would still happen despite the arrival of the Black Bull Guild.
Hisui had still had some doubts but his proof was there and so she'd ordered Arcadios to resume the preparations that morning while she made sure that the name he'd given her, Julius Novachrono, checked out. Unfortunately for her last remaining hopes it did, the man was indeed real and had been a member of Fairy Tail for 6 years some 70 or so years ago before he voluntarily left the Guild according to the Magic Council records. After that the man just vanished from Earth Land and was never heard from again no matter how much Hisui searched or used the strongest Archive Magic she had access to.
That above all else had been the final nail in convincing Hisui that the Black Bulls were from another world because no one did that unless they actually did leave for another world. Therefore, that meant that the arrival of the Black Bulls had caused the unforeseen consequences that messed up the man from the future's predictions.
It was clear now that the Black Bulls up the timeline in ways that couldn't be accounted for so things he'd said would happen in terms of the dragons as the Black Bulls were only affecting the Games not what came after it seemed, and thus things were back on track. All plans had the go order and there was no turning back now.
Hisui still hoped that what had been predicted wouldn't come to pass but she no longer had any reason not to doubt like she had a few days prior so they had to be ready. In just over two days' time Fiore may no longer exist and Hisui swore she'd not let that happen.
No matter what she was going to be ready for it because she had to be for as soon as the Grand Magic Games ended the dragons would attack. With that on her mind, Hisui retired for the night as the third day of the Games came to a close knowing what was to come while the rest of the kingdom looked forward to all that the fourth day would bring.
Another day of the Grand Magic Games is in the book and so the inevitable attack is now drawing nigh but before then there are still two more days of the Games to enjoy and a champion to be crowned. Plenty to look forward to and after an exciting and successful day the Black Bulls are ready for all that the next one will bring, hopefully the event is one that they can excel in just like the first two. That is all that I have for y'all however so I will leave this chapter off here.
