Here is the eighth chapter in this series released in keeping with my self-imposed upload schedule for this series. We've seen how Class 1-A did during the first day so why not check on on Class 1-B as well and see how that class and the new additions due to this crossover are doing there on their own first day at U.A. That is all the administrative stuff I have for y'all however there is a guest review that posed a question that I will respond to now but the other question asked is one that I'm still unable to answer as I have yet to make a decision on if Ruby will have a love interest and if so who it will be though I am leaning in that direction. Do keep the reviews and PMs coming as I always like hearing how much y'all are enjoying my work.

To AutoHunterJ49 (guest), interesting question and one I never considered because from the start I was never going to use aura as that is a Remnant only thing. The main thing you will have to consider is that in RWBY the use of a semblance depletes the aura of the user to some extent and when the aura is broken a semblance can't be used (it's actually a notable error in the White Trailer) so you'd have to consider that as well. It might actually work well with One for All as it may allow Izuku to withstand it better and it would heal him faster though it could easily shatter from his lack of experience with it. Also, there's the fact that different semblances affect aura in different ways, some like Qrow's seem to be negligible due to their nature, some like Yang's will naturally deplete aura faster as she needs to take hits, and some outright shatter aura from use most notably Tock's semblance which lasts 1 minute and when it ends her aura is broken. The nature of aura in MHA would probably make the characters, depending on who they are, more reckless due to the protection it affords and the healing nature of it. I hope this helps answer your question.

Anyway, that is it for this pre-chapter note which means that it is time to sit back and enjoy the eighth chapter in Black RWBY Academia.

Chapter 8: Meanwhile, in Class 1-B

After Yuno bade farewell to Asta he went to his classroom and opened the door without hesitation or loud fanfare like he heard from Asta. He wasn't the first one to arrive in Class 1-B, but he ignored them as he made his way to his seat. As part of the enrollment, he'd been sent his class assignment, seat number, and the seating plan so he knew which seat he was in when he got to the classroom. He was in seat 23 which was on the far wall and the middle seat, so he just made his way there to set down his bag and take his seat looking around to take in his class as he walked there.

He didn't recognize any of them at first glance but that was to be expected as at least 3 and as many as 5 or 6 would be recommended students and the rest were unlikely to have been in his exam group. He did see a girl in seat 8 with long green hair that seemed to be made of vines which looked vaguely familiar to him as he thought he saw vines that color right at the end of his exam. Still, he just dismissed it as he made his way to his seat as the girl was clearly busy with her hands clasped before her and head bowed in prayer just like they'd do back at the church in Hage, so Yuno knew that it was wrong to interrupt her.

As such he just took his seat noting that he passed a bored looking boy with wild purple hair and eyes in seat 21 and a slightly nervous looking tanned boy with brown hair and golden eyes in the seat in front of him. Yuno was sure that he'd get to know all of them in time and as they became his friends they would become his family but for now he just wanted to settle in and see how his time at U.A. started without incident. Of course, that wouldn't be the case but at least the first person to come up to him wasn't mean or anything.

"Hey, you're Yuno right?" A feminine voice said, and Yuno looked up from where he was setting up his notebook for class to see a girl with messy orange hair in an off-center pony tail and teal eyes looking at him and unlike the others he did recognize her as she was the one who'd stayed back during the entrance exam with him which also meant that she'd been the one who caught him when he'd passed out right at the end. "Um, do you have a family name? I, er, feel a bit informal just calling you Yuno without getting to know you first."

"No, I'm an orphan who was left at the church at birth with only my first name, so I don't have a family name." Yuno said bluntly. "I'm from the same orphanage as that loud boy, Asta, from Present Mic's presentation. You were in my test for the exam, right? I think you save me at the end so thank you for that, I owe you one."

"Oh, it was no big deal." The girl said with a smile that come off very big sisterly, as did her whole vibe for that matter. "Especially after you took down that giant robot. It was really impressive, the least I could do was catch you and take you to Recovery Girl afterwards."

"Well thank you, er…" Yuno said realizing that he'd not gotten her name yet.

"Kendo, Itsuka Kendo." Kendo said with a smile and slight bow to him. "It is a pleasure to be in a class with you Yuno."

"Me too." Yuno said being polite as he looked over the girl. "Er, how did you catch me if I may ask. I presume it was your Quirk, but I was out cold, so I don't remember."

"Oh, right my Quirk is called Big Fist." Kendo said holding out her hand and growing it to twice the size to show Yuno. "I can change the size of my hands and the bigger they are the more power I have behind them. It looks basic but it's all in how I use them."

"You got into U.A. so you must have some a good grasp of how to apply it." Yuno said understanding how she caught him now. "And combat potential."

"I actually got more rescue points than villain ones but thanks for noticing." Kendo said. "And not like you, you topped the tables."

"No way, you're the kid who did that?" A loud, brash, boy that kinda reminded Yuno a little of Asta said coming up them, he even had grayish/silver hair though he was taller than Asta and had some odd mask thing around his eyes and didn't seem to be as muscular as Asta was. "Damn dude, that was impressive. Over 100 points is practically unheard of. Only you, Yang Xiao Long, and Julius Novachrono have done it since All Might. Glad to have you in our class, you're a real man."

"Thank you…" Yuno said again unsure what else to say and trailing it off to get the guy's name.

"Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu." Tetsutetsu said with a sharp toothed grin as Yuno looked at him in confusion. "Yes that's my name, my parents suck ok."

"I see." Yuno said deciding that it was best to not question that at all. "Well thank you, it was a surprise to me that I scored that high, but I will take it as I do aim to succeed Julius Novachrono as the Wizard King one day so being in the same category as him right at the start is a big honor."

"Woah you're on the Quirk Knight path, no way." A happy voice said from behind Yuno, and he turned to see a homely but cute girl with vermilion hair framing her face and a straight fringe smiling at him from the seat behind him who must have entered while they were talking. "Same."

"Where'd you come from?" Tetsutetsu said a little surprised that the girl just snuck up to her seat.

"Huh, oh I just got here, my cousin Leo went to the bathroom, so I left him to come to the class." The girl said pointing to the back door of the classroom. "I'm Mimosa by the way, Mimosa Vermillion and you can call me Mimosa if you like. It may actually be easier as Leo shares the same last name as me."

"Wait Vermillion?" Kendo asked. "As in House Vermillion, one of the three great Quirk Knight houses?"

"Yes though I don't want to trade on my name while here or when I become a Quirk Knight." Mimosa said. "In fact, I'm not even joining my family's traditional squad, the Crimson Lion Kings, because I want to forge my own path. It helps that my father is not the heir to the house, that's his older brother who's my uncle and Leo's father, and I'm also related to House Silva on my mother's side though only through marriage as her sister, my late aunt, married into House Silva as she did for House Vermillion, so our family trees do get confusing. Leo basically has to join the family squad, and he's not related to the Silvas like I am, but I don't."

"That is very admirable of you." Kendo said trying to wrap her head around what was said but failing as it was all well above her though the girl didn't strike her as being full of herself despite coming from one of the most upper class families in the nation which was a good sign. "So, I take it you're a recommended student."

"Yes, while I would have been fine trying my hand at the normal exam there are some expectations on my family." Mimosa said clearly a little uncomfortable with that level of connection. "But I know that I'm not the best because of it, just took a different exam. I am sure that in time we will see how we fair in terms of combat, rescue, and other kinds of hero work as we get trained to enter that world no matter what branch we're looking to join."

"Don't forget Grimm studies." Tetsutetsu said. "I may not be on that track, but those things affect all of us when we're in the field, so we have to have at least a solid understanding of them. Do we even have a Huntsman or Huntress candidate."

"Er, yeah, I'm pretty much set on that path though I haven't made any confirmations just yet." The boy in front of Yuno said turning at the conversation his voice a little nervous. "Hey, sorry to interrupt, I'm Oscar Pine and, er, I think I'm the only one who's likely to be a Huntsman in the class."

"Woah dude that is so cool and manly." Tetsutetsu said with a grin at him. "Shame I didn't see you at the entrance exam, you Huntsman types always use cool weapons when you fight. Some of them are even ridiculously over the top which just makes them cooler."

"Well, I wasn't at it, I was recommended by Ozpin." Oscar said surprising them. "He's kinda been a mentor me over the last few years since he helped save my village from a Grimm raid. He saw something in me I think and took me under his wing, helped me forge my weapon, and trained me to be a Huntsman like him. I had to impress him though to get his recommendation, especially as another girl had done so and gotten the other recommendation he was allowed before me, but I managed it and then passed the exam."

"Oh, I think I know who you're talking about." Mimosa said. "My friend Momo mentioned her to me after the exam, some girl called Rose who beat her in the race which was saying something as Momo's Quirk is so versatile that I can't imagine her losing an obstacle course race. I think she's in Class 1-A though."

"Ruby Rose, I've heard of her." Oscar said with a nod. "She's apparently very impressive so I look forward to learning how she's taking on the Huntress track. We also have another Huntress in our year I think."

"Yeah we all know that one." Kendo said. "Hard to miss the Schnee name on the results though she was second to Yuno here and given how it seems like all the class is here I expect she's in Class 1-A as well."

"Weiss is here?" Mimosa asked her eyes a little wide. "That is a surprise. I expected her and my cousin Noelle to go to Shiketsu as the Schnees and Silvas are deeply associated with that school. I'm not sure about Noelle though, her Quirk control is really bad so she may not even be at Shiketsu which is a shame because she's got a lot of power and potential and has tried so hard to get control over it. Still, Weiss being here was a surprise."

"Can't say I know the details or why a Schnee would take the normal exam, but she did." Kendo said with a shrug. "And she got 96 on it, a damned high score normally. Only our Yuno here beat her which gives us the advantage over them as we have the top entrant."

"Well, it was just an advantage of my Quirk and the nature of the rescue points that I didn't realize were a thing." Yuno said. "I didn't top the villain points, some kid got 77 and…"

"Alright is anyone in here one of the three extra bastards who beat me in the exam." A loud voice yelled out as the door was thrown open a blond boy not wearing a U.A. tie with a slightly unkempt appearance and spikey hair stalked in glaring around him. "Well? Speak up? Any of you here in the top 3 of the exam?"

"I presume that you are the one who scored 77 villain points." Yuno said as he looked coolly at the newcomer who was already getting on Yuno's nerves because he was clearly a bully and Yuno hated bullies. "And no rescue points which given your attitude I can see why you didn't get any of those."

"You rescue people by beating villains quickly, if the weak teachers can't see that then it's on them." The boy roared as he walked over to Yuno while the others shrunk back from him. "I take it you're one of the bastards who beat me."

"Yeah, I'm the guy who topped the exam." Yuno said glaring at the boy not letting himself to be intimidated by this boy. "Which means I'm the one who beat you, whoever you are."

"I'm Katsuki Bakugo, the next number 1 hero who will surpass All Might one day." Bakugo roared. "I just came here to let you know that I'm going to prove it to everyone that I should have come top so watch out pretty boy because when I get the chance I'm going to destroy you."

"And I'm going to be the next Wizard King, so you don't have to worry on that front." Yuno said calmly. "But if you wish to fight then I will beat you when the time comes because I too am aiming for the top of my branch as well."

"Well, you got balls, I'll give you that." Bakugo said with a grin. "I'm going to enjoy beating you when the time comes. Now where are the other two? Are they in this class?"

"Like U.A. would put the top three exam scores in the same class." Kendo said to the boy. "I doubt that they'd do something as imbalanced as that."

"Asta came third and he's in class 1-A and like me he's on the Quirk Knight path." Yuno said. "I can't speak for the Schnee girl though it appears that she's in the other class and a Huntress path student."

"Well, I'll go and deal with that then." Bakugo said grinning. "Hopefully both are in my class so I can crush them early. Mark my words, I'm going to beat you pretty boy."

With that the boy turned and walked out, roughly pushing past a red-haired boy with a tight braid down his back and red markings around his eyes as he did. Bakugo didn't even say a word as he did and went next door to confront his own class about the exam and make it clear that he was the top kid.

"Who was that?" The new boy asked as he walked to the last row where the gathering seemed to be. "And did I hear something about someone becoming the Wizard King."

"Yeah, I'm going to be the next one." Yuno said calmly as the boy finished putting his things on his desk. "Got a problem with that."

"Nah, in fact that makes you my rival then." The boy said with a grin that showed off a sharp canine as he came up to Yuno and began patting his shoulder which Yuno had not asked for. "Name's Leopold Vermillion but as my rival and now friend you can call me Leo, I insist. I'm also gunning to be the next Wizard King, as is my older brother Fuegoleon, so that makes us rivals."

"Please get your hand off me." Yuno asked as Leo kept patting him. "And no, I will be the next Wizard King. My own brother and rival Asta is in Class 1-A and going for it as well, we are driven to see who makes it first, but I will beat him."

"Then he's my rival as well, great." Leo said with a bark of a laugh. "Man, this is going to be so much fun with two rivals in the course."

"Er, ok." Yuno said deciding it was best to wait and see what the kid could do before accepting that but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as he was a Vermillion and if that Mimosa girl had spoken correctly he was from the direct line that ran the Crimson Lion Kings so a worthy rival if he had the talent. "Show me on the battlefield and then I'll decide if you can be my rival. I take it you were recommended so I don't know your entrance exam score."

"Yeah I was but I would have nailed that exam as well." Leo said. "Fine, I accept, er…"

"Yuno." Yuno said simply.

"Yuno, a fitting name for my new rival, I accept this challenge." Leo said. "I'll see you on the battlefield and you will see that I am worthy."

"I saw his Quirk in the exam, it's something else." Kendo said to Leo.

"All the better then." Leo said. "My own Spiral Flames Quirk will show off as well."

"As boisterous as ever I see dear cousin." Mimosa said with a smile. "It will be interesting being in the same class as you this year."

"Oh, hey Mimosa, good to see you got here while I was busy." Leo said. "I'm pretty sure they put us together because we're family, so it made more sense that way. You still determined to not join the Crimson Lion Kings. Unlike your brother we would accept you."

"While I am glad that my annoying brother didn't join you guys, and he's ensured that I will not join the Coral Peacocks because I refuse to be in the same squad as him, I won't either and it's not just because my Plant Seeds Quirk is just not compatible with all the fire you guys have." Mimosa said. "I have to forge my own path, find my own home and my own squad, so I will see who wants me after the Sports Festival and go from there."

"Ha fine I can respect that." Leo said as he made his way to his seat. "Good luck."

Yuno just breathed a sigh of relief at the boy leaving, Asta was his rival not this kid but clearly he thought a lot of himself so Yuno was willing to show him that he could stand with one of the main houses in his branch despite being born an orphan. He just needed the chance to show that off for the first time and that was going to come sooner rather than later as at that moment their homeroom teacher walked in and instantly everyone was in their seats showing Yuno that all the class was now present.

"Hello, I am Sekijito Kan, but you can call me by my hero name of Vlad King." The broad man said as he walked up to the lectern in the room. "And I'll be your homeroom teacher this year."

The class looked at their teacher as he put his put his papers down. He was certainly imposing standing at 6 foot 4.5 inches with gray hair and red eyes behind a yellow upper mask with a build that was basically pure muscle. He wore his hero costume which consisted of a blood red, tight, red outfit with black borders around the deep opening showing off part of his chest and black markings on the shoulders. He also wore light gray boots that came up to past his knees, matching gauntlets on his forearms with protection over the backs of his hands, and a three-level belt thing around his midriff.

The oddest thing however was that he had a hose or pipe thing that came from the left gauntlet and seemed to be plugged into his back just past his left shoulder blade. Yuno had no idea what that was for, but he was sure that it had to do with his Quirk and if he was a teacher at U.A. then it had to be a strong one, so Yuno was more than willing to learn from him.

"Right, here's the agenda for today." Vlad said as he put his notes on the lectern. "We will go from here in an orderly fashion to orientation where you will be shown around and learn the basics of U.A. though most of that will not apply to you as you are Hero Course students so things like joining clubs are prohibited. During that I will explain how the year will go and then you will change into your PE kits, and we will head down to the testing field as Class 1-A, who are heading there now as their teacher has no sense of tradition, where I will get a baseline of what your Quirks can do by testing them out though I will explain more once we get there."

"Sir." The purple haired boy at the front of Yuno's column said as he raised his hand. "Will this test be against others in the class or not."

Yuno was impressed by the question as it was a good and prudent one to ask regarding a Quirk test as some Quirks couldn't be tested normally. Yuno of course didn't know the real reason behind the question but that didn't matter as he was also curious. He'd never used Starforce on a human before, well he'd used it on Asta in training, but Asta was kinda an exception and Sister Lily's Holy Water Quirk had healing capabilities, so he'd never had a real chance to test it out hence why was a good question to ask.

"You're Hitoshi Shinso, right? Aizawa's recommended student which is why he can't be your homeroom teacher though he did say that he was giving you some other lessons if I recall." Vlad said looking at the boy. "Something about that binding cloth he wears I believe."

"Yes sir." The boy, Shinso apparently, said. "So, I take it you know of my Quirk."

"I am aware of it but have yet to see it in action." Vlad said. "And to answer your question, no this test won't be combat between students, it will various physical tests to gage your Quirk use in them. I know that you won't excel at this so do your best as I am sure that people like Aizawa told you that for those with Quirks like yours and his, physical strength and martial combat are just as important as how you use your Quirks. I want a baseline of your physical strength so that you know how to get stronger though the rankings will be on Quirk use so don't worry about being last if that is the case. In two days' time you will have your first hero training that will be combat based, tommorrow is your assigned alternative branch day so you have Grimm Studies then. That is where you can show of Shinso and I'll have a full ranking after that."

"I understand, thank you." Shinso said sounding grateful at that.

What the class didn't know about the boy was why he was glad for that. Shinso was only here because the pro hero Eraser Head, aka Shota Aizawa, had started a special program for promising hero candidates who wouldn't be suited for the regular entrance exam. Shinso had applied for it as his Brainwashing Quirk was one such Quirk and after some interviews and demonstrations of it he'd gotten the prized recommendation from Aizawa for U.A. and worked his ass off to pass that entrance exam, which helped with Aizawa's interview that pushed him over the edge for the final spot.

Had Shinso not done this then he would have applied the normal way for both the Hero and General Studies Courses knowing he'd get into the latter at least. From there he'd just try to transfer into the Hero Course with a good showing at the Sports Festival but now he was going to start out on his dream at the beginning and he was determined to show off his Quirk and that it was not sinister, villainous, one, but rather a hero worthy Quirk.

"If that is all, I will explain more later." Vlad said looking around and the class didn't say anything, so he just nodded. "Good now get up and head to orientation. It's time to start your U.A. journeys."

The students all nodded at that and rose to follow their teacher out and attend orientation. Despite Vlad saying that Class 1-A wouldn't be there, Yuno was still curious as to why that was the case, but he knew that he's learn more from Asta in time about the unorthodox style Mr. Aizawa had as a teacher, so he just went along with the flow for the moment. However, he was really looking forward to that test because it would be his first chance to show off and he fully intended to do so.

"Alright time to assess your Quirks." Vlad said as his class gathered before him in the testing area having just changed into their PE kits. "You've no doubt grown up with standardized tests, but never before have you properly had your Quirks tested, at least not in the way we do here. There are many reasons for it and the teachers here all have their own way of using these tests to help you grow. I, personally, just focus on training progressively and steadily from this baseline to get stronger so this is for my own understanding as much as yours as it allows me to get a good gage of what you can do coming into U.A."

The students of Class 1-B just stood there as they listened to their teacher talk. Yuno did wonder what Vlad meant by other teachers but presumably Asta's homeroom teacher had a much different attitude to how he helped grow his students. Frankly Yuno didn't care, he agreed that this was a good test and as a home-schooled orphan he had never properly been tested, or even really gone all out with his Quirk other than in the entrance exam, so he was going to give it all to get that baseline and then work hard to improve. Asta would be doing so, so he had to as well to keep pace with his rival.

Everything up to this point since they'd left the classroom had been pretty standard for Yuno. They'd left the classroom, gone to the opening ceremony, which was run by the diminutive principal, a being called Nezu that Yuno didn't understand at all but listened to closely as he talked about the importance of education and growth at U.A. while noting that Asta indeed wasn't there because of his own class's Quirk assessment test.

That was odd but Yuno let it slide and continued listening standing next to Mimosa and the Oscar kid in the back where the first years were. Afterwards, Vlad took them on a tour of the school, which seemed irrelevant as their classes were in their homerooms and explained how things would work starting tomorrow. That was what Yuno focused on as they went around the school and then returned to the classroom for a display of where the various locations for training on campus were and how to get there so that they wouldn't be late to hero training classes.

The mornings would be for standard school classes in which they'd take the usual school subjects like English, classical Japanese, math, history, and what not, before lunch that was either in the cafeteria or if they were so inclined something that they brought from home. Lunch wasn't free but it was cheap and Yuno, as a disadvantaged student, did get some stipend for it which was nice though as he'd grown up with nomotatos of Hage anything was good to him.

After lunch it was hero work which was broken up into distinctly different classes. Sometimes they'd be will All Might and do hero training in the sense of combat training against villains or specialty situational training. Sometimes they'd be on a field trip to an off-campus facility called the Unforeseen Situation Joint or USJ for short to do rescue and first aid training. Sometimes it would be a class lecture on hero laws, rules, and regulations, and sometimes it would be what was called Grimm Studies.

That last one was a strange course to Yuno as he didn't really know the creatures of Grimm at all, they weren't really a thing up in Hage but for the occasional one which would be put down by some of the stronger people in the village, so he really didn't understand what they were. However, they were a thing that caused issues all over the country and while Huntsmen and Huntresses were specially tasked with their eradication, all heroes would encounter them, so they had to understand the various types, how to beat them without a weapon, while the Huntsman path kid would get a deeper understanding of them.

Oscar would get special training, along with two Huntress track girls in the other class, in dealing with Grimm and other aspects of Huntsman life, and as part of this he was expected to take a work study at one of the Huntsman Agencies to further hone his skills in this branch. The rest of them could come to these sessions for the training or do their own training at the time so Yuno would have to think on it.

Overall, it was a lot to take in and Yuno had work for the school as part of his enrolment status, so he was going to be really busy, but he didn't mind. All that meant was that he'd be a stronger hero by the end of it. He was just glad that he got all of this told to him at the start so that he could begin to plan for it and work on his steady growth rather than be expected to just understand it from the very start.

"Let's start with an example." Vlad said brining Yuno back from his thoughts and then adding to it by singling him out. "Yuno, you got the top score in the entrance exam, tell me, how far can you throw a softball?"

"I don't know." Yuno admitted. "I've never done it, sir."

"Oh, right you were homeschooled." Vlad said as he produced the softball and tossed it at Yuno who caught it in his right hand and looked at it in confusion as it had some sort of electronic band around it before giving Yuno his instructions. "Go to that circle and throw it. Use your Quirk however you see fit to send it as far as you can manage just stay in the circle."

"Er sure." Yuno said with a shrug as he walked over to the circle and thought about it for a moment.

It took him a bit to figure it out, but he came to how he could do it and at the very least see how if it worked as he wanted it to work. When he had it he cocked his arm back and threw it out where he was told to throw it. As it reached its apex, he reached out his right hand and created a star in it's path. It was a transport star so couldn't move it around, but he'd placed it right in front of the ball so that it hit it and then set up the chain of stars in the air as far as he could manage from a standing position. That too would be a good test as he didn't know how far out he could make them without moving himself.

However, the main test of this was if he could move the ball at all. He'd never actually tried to use his stars to transport anyone but himself so it was a good test and better than just trying to shoot it in the air as he could chain the stars so that it was transported from one to another right away.

It turned out that he could affect the ball as it hit the first star and vanished to the gasps of the crowd before appearing at the next star in the line and from then on through it before finally reaching the end and falling to the ground right by the fence at the far end of the testing area. It had traveled maybe 50 or so meters from the last star to when it hit the ground so Yuno had a sense of how far out he could make a transport star while being in a fixed location.

"993 meters." A robot chimed and the voice was from the device in Vlad's hand that was tied to the band on the ball and even he had eyes wide at that.

"Huh, I'm just shy of 1k of transport from a standing position." Yuno said looking back to his teacher. "Is that good?"

"Um yes." Vlad said with a nod. "I got word from Aizawa when he was done here that only three of his class went past 700 meters and only one beyond 704 though her score was infinity so I don't think that will be beat."

"Must be a gravity-based Quirk then." Yuno muttered as he headed back pleased with his results.

"Anyway." Vlad said as he turned to the class who were still processing Yuno's score. "That is the kind of thing we are doing today. You are to use your Quirks to get as good a score as you can, and the ranking will be based off how creative you are with them and how you utilize your Quirks to maximize your scores. Shinso, I've already explained what I want from you. Take this seriously, knowing your limits so that you can surpass them here will help you in the field."

"Yes sir." The class said with a nod though many were smiling at this while some made comments about looking forward to it and going all out with their Quirks that Vlad just ignored.

"Alright we have 8 events and the first on is the 50-meter dash." Vlad said ending any chatter as he led them over to the area. "And first up we have Vermillion Leo and Yuno as I think that is the best combo with what is involved."

Yuno didn't complain as he lined up at his starting point but unlike Leo who took a stance in a set of runners blocks he just stood there as he knew how he was going to do this and get a really fast time in the process. Leo for his part grinned as he charged up his flames for a sudden release of them from his hands.

Leopold Vermillion, though he goes by Leo to his friend, Quirk: Spiral Flames. Leo can create spirals of flames from his hands, feet, and mouth that can be used offensively or to boost him forward though the last one really leaves his throat dry, so he rarely uses it. Leo can control the temperature of his flames and even manipulate them to some extent so long as he is firing them. The tighter the spiral the stronger the blast but the more energy he uses up. As a result of his Quirk, he is flame resistant though he is not fire proof as enough firepower can still burn him.

"Ready, set…" The robot said. "Go."

There was a gunshot sound and Leo leapt out of the stance and began to run with his hands behind him. the moment he could he blasted out condensed and powerful spirals of fire that blasted him forward and accelerated his speed well beyond what he could normally achieve. It was good but Yuno just created a pair of transport stars and flashed between the two in a second. Well actually…

"2.06 seconds." The robot said as everyone blinked at what they saw though Leo didn't see it as he was running, and Yuno had to use another star to get out of the way of the burning, charging, boy. "4.31 seconds."

"Wait I lost?" Leo asked as he looked at Yuno who was walking back to the class without even paying him any attention. "Damn, he's definitely a worthy rival even if he's annoyingly unresponsive."

"Woah with you in the class we're sure to do well." A blond boy with an unassuming look patted Yuno on the back, his fingers grazing Yuno's hair as he did. "Class 1-A will be in it for sure when we really ignite our upcoming rivalry with them."

"Try not to touch me." Yuno said to the boy who just smiled as he was called up, his name was apparently Neito Monoma, and just left Yuno to return to the rest of the class.

"I have to ask what is your Quirk?" Kendo asked as Yuno joined them and turned to watch Monoma face off against a boy with a beastly appearance though Yuno never judged a heteromorph just because of how he or she looked, and this guy looked strong and fast, so he'd make a good hero if he had a good grasp of his Quirk. "I've never seen anything like it and that whole teleportation thing you just did was in addition to what I saw in the entrance exam."

"It's called Starforce." Yuno replied simply. "It allows me to generate stars with various purposes. I can use them offensively to fire what I call star power from them though I don't know what that power actually is. I can also use them defensively if I connect that power in constellations to form shields, or I can place fixed stars and travel between them. I can move the first two as I see fit but not the last one hence why I stood on two attack stars in the exam."

"Cool that must…" Kendo began before there was the bang and suddenly the beastly boy went full beast mode and roared as he charged forward on all fours but the gasp from the crowd came when Monoma vanished with a star in his place and appeared at the star at the end of the event to cross the finish line with a grin. "…what?"

"2.19 seconds." The bot said as the class gaped and a few seconds later the beastly boy, Jurota Shishida, passed the line as well. "4.77 seconds."

Everyone, especially Yuno, was confused but Monoma didn't answer questions, he just smirked as he walked back to them, and the next ones went up. That was Mimosa and Oscar, so Yuno missed their goes, though Oscar surprised them by going sub 4 seconds and Mimosa managed to achieve a score below 6 which seemed fast, but Yuno only cared for the fact that his Quirk had been copied, which it had been. Monoma's Quirk was Copy and so long as the Quirk wasn't a stockpiling subclass, which he'd learn later Oscar's was when he tried to copy it for the ball throw, he could copy anyone's Quirk for 5 minutes by touching you.

It certainly got things interesting and for the rest of the test Monoma was doing just that to secure as high a score as he could on the various tests. Yuno was impressed and annoyed by it at the same time but went back to watching the test as he noted that the class had some interesting ways of doing the 50-yard dash. Not all used a Quirk because they didn't have Quirks that were useful for the test but the ones who did were impressive.

Yuno noted that the vine haired girl, Ibara Shiozaki, could control her vines at will and used them to travel fast over the 50 metes to achieve a sub 6 second time. An American girl with horns on her head, a small tail, and hooves called Pony Tsunotori showed that she detach her horns and fly on them which got her sup 5 seconds. A pitch-black boy with silver hair called Shihai Kuroiro actually melded with the shadows that had formed over his lane traveled through them for a solid sub 5.5 second score, and so on.

However, the most interesting and awkward one, for everyone but her, was a sharp toothed dark green haired girl and one of the surprisingly 6 recommended students in the class called Setsuna Tokage. Her Quirk allowed her to split her body up into several parts and control them all at will which also allowed her to fly. She did so right at the bang and used them to fly in a swarm of body parts to the finish line and got a time of sub 4 seconds with her first body part passing it.

That wasn't the interesting or awkward part, however. No that was reserved for the fact that only her body could do it, so she'd left her clothes behind at the starting point as she split her body for the exam.

It had been so fast and surprising that no one had noticed that she'd not left underwear. They did notice when she finished her go, and the girls in the class were grateful as none of the boys in the class were perverts, in fact Tokage was the most perverted member of the class unbeknownst to the rest of them, and quickly reformed there. She was wearing underwear, and especially strange, almost scale-like, purple set that would easily be classified as lingerie.

"At least she wore that special underwear that she was provided with." Vlad muttered as he noted her score and kept his eyes averted as he did, as did the class with the exception of Kendo who grabbing her classmate's clothes and brought them to her as Tokage sauntered back to them without a care in the world clearly very confident in her body. "That's a good thing to note, she's not like Togata in that regard."

That was the peak of the 50-meter dash as after that it was basically just a mix of non-Quirk use or Quirk attempts with varying results that ended in the whole area covered in a mix of glue and mushrooms from the last two to go, Kojiro Bondo for the former and Kinoko Komori for the latter, that didn't seem to help eithers' score. That wasn't good as Komori's mushrooms took a few hours to clear and so they headed inside for the next test, grip strength.

This one again produced a mix of results with Yuno only able to record a score of 62kgs as his Quirk couldn't be used in this test. That was low for the class, but their class was unusually prepared for this. Shishida used his Beast Quirk, which he explained in his refined and soft accent that showed he came from the upper class, to score over 600kg while Tetsutetsu turned to steel showing Yuno his Quirk and he got a score just over 500kg with it.

Meanwhile Kendo used Big Fist to get over 400kg and that was subsequently copied by Monoma for a slightly higher score much to Kendo's frustration though the simple explanation there was biology and she knew for a fact that in a practical application of her Quirk she would be better than Monoma with it. All was looking good until there was a cracking sound and they all turned to find Oscar blushing as a green light faded from him and a broken machine in his hand.

"Sorry." Oscar said embarrassed as even Vlad blinked at him. "I didn't realize how strong I could make my body with my Quirk."

Oscar Pine, Quirk: Personal Energy. Oscar can turn his body's naturally stockpiled energy into a personal force that can be used defensively in the forms of spherical shields and barriers and offensively in the forms of beams that can destroy things or be used to launch him forward. He can also infuse the energy around his body to enhance his physical capabilities and even for a limited time form a personal protective shield around his body. The drawback is that the more he uses the faster he tires, and it requires a lot of concentration to maintain a personal shield. Still damned powerful.

Oscar did look a little out of it afterwards and he admitted he'd gone too far at that, but Vlad made a note of it as other scores came in. He expected that to be the end until there was another cracking sound and he looked to see a bright red Mimosa Vermillion her hand out and controlling a thick green plant root that had broken the machine and then wrapped fully around it to utterly crush it as she'd constricted it around the device.

Mimosa Vermillion, Quirk: Plant Seeds. Mimosa can create seeds for various plants and make them grow instantly. She has full control over the plants that are grown, often roots and vines though she does make flowers for certain purposes, that grow and uses them for various effects such as transportation, attack, capture, defense, and even healing and scouting to some extent with some of her plants. It is an overall versatile Quirk with a lot of power though mainly in support roles.

"I'm so sorry." Mimosa said her eyes wide. "I didn't realize how strong they could be, I don't actually have physical contact with my plants so I can't gage how strong they are when I make them as tight as possible."

"Well, this is why we have the test." Vlad said as he noted the score. "Work on it because that could be a problem when dealing with capturing people."

Mimosa just nodded at that as they finished up and moved onto the next one which was the standing long jump. Again, this one was simple for Yuno who used a transport star again to pass it.

In fact, several of the class passed it using their Quirks, pretty much all those who had good scores in the dash, with another showing of Tokage's underwear for good measure. That then got ruined by Monoma copying her Quirk for it and not having the right underwear, so he did have to cover up in a sight no one wanted to see as Yuno used his stars to transport Monoma's clothes to him so that his exposure was limited though he would still have nightmares from it.

The big amusement was Mimosa again who dropped some seeds so that her plants could pick her up and throw her over the sandpit. It was a good idea, but she was thrown too hard and had to create more seeds to make a plant to catch her.

She wasn't the only one who had to enact a landing strategy, Leo and Shiozaki also had some emergency landings with Leo having to use his fire to arrest his descent while Shiozaki just used her vines calm the entire time. Meanwhile Oscar for whatever reason decided to clear it by forming a sphere of energy under his feet which launched him a bit too high and far, so he had to form a second around himself to take the landing, but it showed its strength by easily withstanding it.

After that was side to side steps which didn't have any real clear good ones. Yuno set up two stars to oscillate between them which was the best and led to Monoma copying him again for it, the boy had some skills in touching people to secure their Quirks, but otherwise it wasn't a strong showing from the class and Monoma felt he'd scored lower than before by using the same Quirk twice. The only other kid with any promise was a kid with a speech bubble for his head called Manga Fukidashi who said bounce twice to form the words in Japanese in the air with that effect and bounced between them for a decent result.

Vlad noted all of this as they moved onto the ball throw which Yuno could sit out thanks to already having recorded a score, so he just watched as no one came close to his score. Plenty did well with strategies ranging from using vines or plants to toss it in Shiozaki and Mimosa's case, to just detaching her hand to seeing how far it would go to Beast and Big Fist being used to Oscar glowing green for it only with a little more control this time, and plenty of other methods being tried.

Some new ones at this that Yuno noted was a pale blue haired girl called Reiko Yanagi using a telepathic Quirk to move the ball as far as she could, that was what Monoma copied as Oscar's wouldn't work much to his annoyance, to get a decent score. Another girl, an untalkative black haired girl called Yui Kodai, shrunk the ball to see of it would go further and it did thanks to a breeze adding to it.

Then there was a short stocky boy called Nirengeki Shoda who simply punched the ball before he threw it and then said 'impact' to trigger a second, stronger hit, on the ball that blasted it a good distance further. Another boy with Chinese and not Japanese features called Hiryu Rin fired scales from his arms at it to add to the distance, and so on with the interesting attempts to get the ball as far as possible.

None of them beat Yuno's score, or broke 700 meters, but it was still a good showing from them, and they moved back inside for the sit ups test. This was dominated by Tetsutetsu though he didn't turn to steel like he had in some of the other tests and just went full Asta at the physical exercise. Yuno had never trained his body like Asta had but now he understood why it could be useful and did his best at it while mentally noting to try and hit the gym when he had time to boost his strength as it might help boost his Quirk. No one really excelled at this test with a Quirk, however.

This was followed by the seated toe touch that those with good Quirks for it like Tokage and Kendo managed, the former of which was copied by Monoma again, and others like Yuno and Leo who lacked the flexibility didn't do so well on. That was the test that Yuno understood the least and just moved on from it for the final test, the distance run.

As with the others this one was divided between those who didn't have a Quirk that was useful for it and thus fell out first, those who could slightly boost themselves at times like Mimosa, Leo, and Shiozaki, and those who could go for a while. Well, those were the three main groups as this time around Monoma just copied from various people starting with the ones that were only useful for a short boost and moving up through the groups to show his versatility with Copy.

Yuno was in the last boat going with his stars under his feet until he couldn't anymore and moving through the air on transport stars for the final part though he didn't come first as he couldn't hold out. Others with strong endurance turned out to be Kuroiro who used the shadows to travel for a long time, which Monoma copied at the end, and Shishida who's Beast Quirk gave him a boost in endurance and stamina as well as strength, senses, and reflexes. In the end though it was won by Tsunotori who outlasted them on her horns much to even Vlad's surprise.

Regardless, Vlad had used the distance run to make the final calculations and tot up the scores for his ranking of his students at this stage of the year. He wasn't like Aizawa, he wasn't going to expel a student and then enroll them again though he did know why Aizawa did that, but he did agree with the assessment concept and was ensuring that it was accurate for his class hence why he also conducted this test.

They'd need it to know where they stood and what to do to get stronger going forward. This was of course only part of the rankings as all would be complete after the combat training tomorrow when those with more capture or battle orientated Quirks that weren't great in these tests could also shine. The big one in that category Shinso who's Quirk was only useful against another human, so Vlad was looking forward to seeing how he faired in that class.

"Ok good, that is it for the tests." Vlad said as the class came in following the end of the distance run and they'd all caught their breath. "You've done well today, really pushed yourselves both with Quirks and physically. That is just a taste of what we are going to do this year and we will be using these results as your baseline going forward."

Yuno could understand that as he did feel it, he'd used his Quirk a lot and this was really giving him a sense of how long he could use it for. It also gave him a sense of what his class could do and helped them start to bond with each other and though he didn't show it he was already starting to consider them his friends and thus family. He knew that Asta would feel the same way about his own class.

"I'll hand out detailed breakdowns and suggestions for where to improve at the end of the week after I've evaluated your first hero combat session so that you know where to work on before we do some rescue training next week to see how you perform in those kind of scenarios." Vlad said bringing all their attention back to him as he pressed a button on the device in his hand that was the same as Aizawa's. "So, for now just check the results and process them."

Yuno looked at the results as they appeared and blinked at them. They were certainly a little unexpected in places but given the Quirks being used, and how they were used, it did make some sense and he was pleased with his result even if it was just short of what he wanted.

"Alright, remember that this is just a baseline of what you can do on these tests, and I expect you to get better on them." Vlad reminded them as he turned off the projection. "There is still the physical combat and now you know what most of your class can do so that will make it more interesting. I'll have a fuller ranking for you when that is over so don't get too disheartened by this list as several of you have Quirks that do not lend themselves well to these tests though you should be using this results to get better because pros overcome deficiencies with ingenuity. That is all I have for you so get showered, changed, and then swing by the classroom for your stuff and the syllabus for the semester. Dismissed."

That was it for the class and Yuno just turned and headed to the changing room for a quick shower and then it was back to his classroom to get his syllabus. He knew that Asta wouldn't be waiting for him as with his own class ending earlier he would have already headed to their campus work to get that sorted so Yuno would do that as well, he wouldn't fall behind Asta on anything. Still, it had been interesting for sure, and Yuno was looking forward to how his and Asta's time at U.A. progressed going forward.

Well, there it is, Yuno's less stressful day than Asta and really sets the tone for Class B's time as well. I will be doing more chapters like this for their growth every now and then so as to get that class a little more involved and look at their characters as well though the main ones here will obviously be Yuno, Leo, Mimosa, and Oscar. On Oscar's front, I wanted Oscar to be in the class and this series but given his age I've aged him up (and Leo down actually) so that he could be a member of Class 1-B. As for his Quirk, it was hard to determine as his semblance has not been unlocked or revealed in RWBY as far as I am aware but the magic he has as Ozma's reincarnation (which won't be part of this series as I can't fit it in though there will be some things related to it that I will be working in as best I can) so I used that magic as the base of his Quirk. From there it was just what does he show off and how to adapt it to a Quirk and Personal Energy was the result which gives him the capabilities he has showed in RWBY as well as allowing him, and him along, to generate an aura-like protection for a short period of time. It's a powerful Quirk that he is still mastering hence why he was recommended and is Ozpin's mentee. Similarly, Leo and Mimosa had to be adapted to fit a Quirk better than what they had but they are of course powerful and versatile as expected from recommended students and members of one of the premier Quirk Knight families. Anyway, I had planned to have a catch-up chat between Yuno and Asta at the end, but this was already starting to run long and was going to hit the 10k average chapter length, so I ended it where I did. That catch up will be next chapter in its own way, and will be a much shorter chapter for once, so plenty to look forward to. That is all I have for y'all, however, so I will leave this chapter off here. If you like this story please follow, favorite (this story and me) to keep up with it and leave a review or PM, your support is what helps motivate me to keep up this work and any questions posed before the next chapter is uploaded I will try to answer. Until next time.
