Here is the seventeenth chapter in this series released in keeping with my self-imposed upload schedule for this series. The first years have settled into U.A. nicely and gotten into a good routine so why not spice things up with some off campus training in an aspect of hero work all of them need to learn. What could possibly go wrong with that? It's not like there's going to be anything unexpected or eventful during the first rescue training session after all. Anyway, that is all the administrative stuff I have and while there are no questions that need answers or guest reviews that need responding to, though thank you for your continued support of my work, so I will leave this off here. Do keep the reviews and PMs coming as I always like hearing how much y'all are enjoying my work. That is it for this pre-chapter note which means that it is time to sit back and enjoy the seventeenth chapter in Black RWBY Academia.

Disclaimer: I own nothing related to these three great franchises.

Chapter 17: Arrivals in the USJ

"Today's training will be different from what you've done so far." Aizawa said to the class as they sat in their seats after lunch and waited to hear what was in store for them.

It was the end of their second week at U.A. and unbeknownst to them it was time for their first off campus training session. The last week had been pretty standard and uneventful since the Class Rep decision and the whole journalist incident that had occurred. It had been pretty much just normal high school stuff, hero training, a Grimm training exercise in one of the wooded areas around the school where Professor Port had assessed the non-Huntresses and Asta against Grimm that had been brought there for that purpose, and lectures on the various hero laws that were in effect in Japan.

As such things had been pretty uneventful for the class as they settled into what felt like a normal routine, albeit one with hero training involved. That was why this sudden announcement had them all on edge but also eager to see what different training they'd encounter today.

"First off rather than just one instructor you will have three along with a third-year assistant who is waiting for you at the training facility with one of the other instructors." Aizawa said to the class getting their attention. "All Might and myself will be two of them, the other faculty member is one who specializes in this field of hero work will be keeping tabs on you during this exercise while the third year is present for a student perspective and to assist in various ways."

"Sir, what training requires three teachers and a student?" Sero asked raising his hands as several did ponder why there were three pros but with the break in so recent that could be a reason.

"Rescue training." Aizawa said holding up a card for them with the word rescue on it in English for some reason though they all knew more than enough English to know the word. "That is why there are three staff present because we have a hero on staff who's specialty is rescue rather than villain combat, so her expertise is critical. This kind of training involves dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, and other such phenomenon that are either not direct villain combat or are things that occur after a villain attack has happened. This will be in multiple settings that can happen out in the field from urban to aquatic to mountainous training just to name a few."

"Disasters, sounds like this will be a big class." Kaminari said as the students processed the news. "A good test of what makes a hero."

"Totally, I'm psyched to learn how to deal with them." Ashido said excitedly. "This is really how we can help people."

"This is the real hero stuff." Kirishima said grinning his sharp toothed grin. "We've got to man up to get this kind of work done. I can't wait to show off what I can do."

"Finally, something with water where I can really excel, ribbit." Tsu added. "Though I hope I don't have to deal with fire or cold, my cold blood isn't great in those, but I really should learn to adapt to them I guess."

"Something Huntresses don't usually deal with because of Grimm but something we must be able to help with as natural disasters effect everyone." Weiss said. "Grimm are disasters in their own right so we should be prepared for others."

"Totally, this will be cool." Ruby said excitedly.

"I'm not sure what I can do if there are no Quirks, but I'll be of assistance in any way I can." Asta said. "I can just use my muscles instead."

"I'm not finished yet." Aizawa said seriously shutting up any chatter as he pressed a button and the panels slid out with their cases in them. "Remember that rescue work is different to combat so bear that in mind as you decide what to wear for today's training session. I know that you are excited about your costumes but most of you aren't used to them yet so they may limit what you can do and in rescue scenarios you can't be limited so be smart with what you wear as now is the time to figure out what works in this kind of situation. Lastly, this training is at a special off-campus facility built just for such training so we will be taking a bus to it. Alright, that's all so get ready and be outside in 10 minutes."

At that the class stood up and began to get their cases to go and change. Well, all of them did but Izuku as his suit was still being repaired and improved by a professional company after what happened in his battle trial but regardless he was ready for what was to come because this was the training he'd wanted to do since the beginning as this was the kind of hero work that made All Might the Symbol of Peace.

"Deku, why are you in your PE clothes and not your hero costume?" Ochaco asked as she came up to him as soon as she got outside after changing. "Where is it? I get several have changed things up but still."

Ochaco was right, several of the class had changed things up with Bakugo only wearing one gauntlet, Todoroki not wearing the head and face part of the fake ice that he had on the left side of his body as part of his costume, and Ida not wearing his helmet. However, Deku was in his full PE kit with the only things from his costume being his belt and the pouches on it, gloves, kneepads and elbow pads. His green costume however wasn't present at all.

"Well, you saw my costume after the combat training, it was pretty damaged." Izuku said as Ochaco failed to notice Mineta staring at her backside though Yaoyorozu did, and she got repulsed by it. "So, I need to get it fixed up by the support company before I can use it again and it's taking a little time it seems."

"See that's the advantage of not having an actual costume." Asta said as he joined them. "If it gets beat up I just replace it with other clothes that I have."

"Yeah I've been meaning to ask you that." Izuku said though Ochaco already knew as she'd asked before the battle trial, but Izuku hadn't been present at the time. "Why is it that you don't have a costume?"

"Quirk Knight have historically not had them." Noelle said as she joined them with Nero though she made sure to stand next to Asta, she may have started warming up to him but the others who she'd not yet gotten to know well, basically everyone but Weiss in their budding group, would take time. "While family's like mine and the Vermillions have certain styles that we like, Quirk Knights have never been about the flash and show that heroes have so we opt to wear what we are most comfortable in when in the field. Our only costume is our Squad robe to denote which one we belong to or the special robe the Wizard King wears. Course the Golden Dawn has a uniform but they're an exception like that."

"I just wear this because someone thought it would look good on me." Nero said and didn't elaborate further on the whole blue dress she wore in the field though at least this time around she was wearing shoes mainly due to not knowing what kind of ground she'd be dealing with, and they were a pair she could easily kick off if need be. "And it's more practical than it appears so I don't mind it."

"Huh I guess that makes sense." Izuku said as he looked over the Quirk Knight kids, as did Ochaco and she noticed something different. "You are in Squads so identifying them should come first."

"Um Siva, what is that?" Ochaco asked pointing to Noelle's belt. "That looks new."

What Ochaco was pointing to was a long metallic rod thing that was hanging from Noelle's belt next to a brown metallic looking pouch that was resting on her right thigh that seemed to have replaced her satchel from the battle trial. Whatever was in the pouch, which as Ochaco looked at it was basically the same design as the satchel from before, it looked full as the straps attaching it to Noelle's belt were taught from it.

As for the rod thing, it was narrow at the tip and only got a little bigger as you went down it but for a strange swirls in the middle and a golden band halfway between it and the end that had another gold band before a strange sphere with a segmented design at the end that seemed to be translucent and filled with water. The whole item was connected to the pouch by a tube of sorts that clearly had a lot of play in it.

"This? This is a support item I had made to help my Quirk." Noelle said patting the pouch. "Weiss suggested that I get it as a way to force me to focus on a set amount of water to avoid losing control like I did the other day. It just got finished so this is the first test of it."

"You already have a support item?" Izuku asked. "I know Kacchan has his gauntlets but still, we've only just started the semester so most of us don't know what will help."

"It's necessary." Noelle said simply as she flicked one of her pigtails away. "I need it for…"

Before she could say more though there was a whistle sound and they all looked over to find Ida standing by the bus with a whistle he'd just blown. Next to him was Ruby who was doing her duty as one of the deputy reps to help him out while Weiss was with her just because it seemed though there was a high chance that Ruby simply dragged Weiss with her, and Weiss went along with it as the girls were becoming really close friends after making up following Weiss's outburst.

"Class, we are all present so please fore two neat lines according to seat number." Ida said to them in a loud, authoritative voice. "That way we can load the bus efficiently and sit in an organized and ordered fashion. Move."

At that Ida began to blow the whistle a few more times for them to get moving and was chopping his arm to emphasis his points, all of which was punctuated with a blow of his whistle. It was a good way to get their attention, but he was kinda overdoing it.

"He's really getting into the Class Rep role." Izuku said happy for his friend.

"That whistle needs to go though." Noelle said as they made their way to the bus. "I don't care how; it just has to be destroyed and we have to ban Momo from making him another one."

"Agreed." Nero said as the class ignored Ida's instructions and just boarded the bus. "Huh, well this wasn't expected but karma for that whistle."

Nero was right, the bus was not normal on the inside as rather than have the standard double seats with an aisle down the middle leading to the full row at the back it had an open layout in the front with 8 seats facing each other before it raised up a little past the midway. Those 8 seats were soon occupied by Ida, Ashido, Aoyama, Kaminari, Sato, Midoriya, Asui, and Kirishima took.

The raised up section at the back was a few steps up from the open plan front half and set up to be like a normal bus so the class took seats there with Ruby and Weiss sitting together in one of the penultimate rows with Asta excitedly taking the back so Nero just sat on one side and Noelle on the other though she was only there because they were Quirk Knights even if she did like being next to Asta, not that she'd admit it to herself that is.

Of course, Asta sitting at the back with two girls on either side really annoyed Mineta because it made him look like some suave ladies man with an aloof cutie on one side and a near regal but haughty beauty on the other. This was what he wanted but couldn't get and here Asta was with a woman on either side while Mineta was stuck a few rows in front next to Shoji. Regardless, he swore that he'd observe Asta to learn how he managed to get that level of interest so that one day he too could emulate it.

"This bus's open layout ruined my boarding strategy; I should have had a backup plan for such a layout." Ida lamented from his seat loud enough for everyone to hear. "I failed to anticipate a different one."

"Did Ida not anticipate this?" Weiss asked Ruby in the back as Mina tried to cheer up Ida for his mistake. "Buses do come in all shapes and sizes, don't they?"

"I think he presumed that a school bus would have normal seating that one would associate with busses that you use when you're at school." Ruby said with a shrug. "This is more one of those commuter buses that you get in the cities so it's not exactly what one would expect from a bus used by a school I guess."

"It is?" Weiss asked. "I didn't realize. I'll admit, I've never been on a bus before."

"Same." Noelle said without a shred of embarrassment at that.

"Likewise." Momo added as Ochaco, who was next to her, just stared in shock at that though she did hear Tsu talk to Deku about his Quirk and how similar it seemed to be to All Might's. "We have a few drivers who take us where we need to go whenever myself or my parents need to go anywhere."

"What are your lives?" Ochaco asked the rich girls of the class as Tsu reminded people to call her Tsu and was now pretty insistent about people using a shortened version of her first name despite barely knowing anyone which was really odd as she wasn't a Huntress or Quirk Knight track student who tended to use first names with each other as a way to help foster the bonds between them.

"I don't need to take a bus." Noelle said with a flick of her hair. "A Silva should never stoop to taking such a common form of transport but as I am in school now I guess that I will have to endure it. My siblings did as well so I shall do the same."

"This is my second bus ever." Asta said as Kirishima disagreed with Tsu's assessment of Midoriya's Quirk as he thought it wasn't like All Might's while Ochaco tried, and failed, to process what Noelle had said. "We got one that comes to Hage once a day, so Yuno and I took it out before getting the trains to U.A. when we left home but that was the only time we ever took a bus as until then we never had reason to leave Hage. It was a bus with a center aisle and seats on either side other than the back row which is cool that it's more than two seats."

"That's how a normal long-distance bus is though there are sleeper models that vary a little and what not." Ruby said. "This is like the bus I'd take from the docks in Vale to the city center whenever I visited it. Kinda feels right for a short journey between campus and a school facility off campus."

"Yeah it's like those buses I'd take with my parents when we are in town." Ochaco said as Izuku praised Kirishima's Quirk as more than just hardening and how it was a hero level Quirk even if it wasn't flashy. "But it does feel odd being in one while on a school outing."

"Yeah it's odd for the school to have a bus like this I feel." Ruby said as Kirishima complemented Bakugo and Todoroki's Quirks as hero level though he did add that Noelle's was up there if she had control which made her huff and ignore him but as she saw him as beneath her that wasn't too hard to do. "It's not a normal layout."

"They probably have normal ones as well." Nero said as Tsu pointed out that Bakugo's angry personality would really hinder his popularity as a pro that caused him to blow up and yell which just proved Tsu's point and didn't faze the green haired girl at all. "And Tsu was right there, Bakugo really needs to calm down."

"It is rather unprofessional." Weiss said as Kaminari made a point that Bakugo's personality was a mix of flaming crap and hot garbage. "And that was a visual I didn't need to have in my mind."

"Not inaccurate though." Asta said as Bakugo started raging at everyone while Jiro, who had the supreme misfortune of sitting next to him in the front row of the raised back section, lent away regretting her seating choice immensely. "He's got talent and then some, but a hero should be nice to everyone who's not a villain no matter the area of focus."

"Asta's right." Ruby said as Bakugo continued to rage, and things began to devolve rapidly. "Anger won't work all the time; you've got to be nice as well. There will be many situations, especially when dealing with rescue training, that you have to be kind and thoughtful."

"This is really getting quite the disgusting conversation." Momo said her refined tastes unable to handle it. "Is this what happens in high school?"

"I agree." Noelle said. "Unfit for heroes no matter what track we are on and well below our sophistication."

"But it is kinda fun listening to them fight." Ochaco said with a smile as the whole thing, and the amusing face Deku was making at the teasing Bakugo was getting that she couldn't deny looked really cute on him. "It's kinda part of a normal class to have this, you've always got the loudmouth who needs to calm down and the other personalities messing with him in return, especially when he's giving them so much ammunition for it."

"It is?" Momo asked. "I am still getting used to the whole high school stuff, but I really should broaden my horizons, shouldn't I?"

"It's a good thing to do so." Ruby said.

"I don't think I'd ever get used to this." Noelle said. "And this is normal school?"

"It would appear so." Weiss said. "But I can at least try to adapt, a Schnee should be able to do so."

"Yuno and I occasionally fought but that was just how things are." Asta said. "Sometimes you need to do so to work things out. That's just how it goes with family."

"That I do get." Weiss said with a sigh. "So long as you can grow from the fight that is."

"And we both did." Ruby said patting Weiss's hand next to her. "So, we will be a team going forward."

"Yes, we will be." Weiss said with a small smile at Ruby. "It's…"

"Hey stop messing around, we've arrived." Aizawa said as the bus started to slow down and the whole class snapped to attention at their teacher's words.

"Yes sir." Most students said though Bakugo just said. "Whatever."

A moment later the bus stopped, and they all got out to stare at the building before them. It was a massive dome shaped building with a long entrance up to it and their teacher didn't wait for them to marvel at it, he just simply led them up the path to the entrance where the other teachers and student would be waiting for them inside the facility. Once they were all inside they'd learn what the building was though that would have to wait a moment as the hero who ran the facility clearly decided not to wait for them to enter as she walked out accompanied by the student assigned to assist today.

"Welcome students, I've been waiting for you." A feminine voice with a slight metallic tinge to it said as Aizawa led them up to the woman who was wearing a space suit-like costume with stoppers over her fingers and a helmet that covered and obscured her face so only her voice revealed her gender though she only had shorts on, so they saw black stocking between the bottom of her shorts and the tops of her yellow boots. "It's time for me to show you what is inside."

Instantly several of the students were geeking out at the sight as they instantly recognized her as the Space Hero: Thirteen. She was a rescue specialist who had saved people from countless disasters not just in Japan but in other countries as she was sometimes called upon to help when there was a major disaster because of her Quirk's usefulness but Izuku didn't realize that she was the one U.A. had on staff. It was a lot to take in. However, Asta's attention went to the student with her.

The boy was either a second, or more likely a third, year student with a lean build and two-tone hair though unlike Todoroki's even split this kid had gray on the top with a black mohawk down the center and gray on the sides. His hair wasn't the only add thing about his appearance as he wore a pair of shades despite not needing to and appeared to have a hairline scar on the left side of his forehead with large dots next to them. It was a punk-like look and one that was added to with his clothes.

That was because the bow wore a dark blue leather jacket that was zipped up and barely longer than Asta's jacket was with the sleeves rolled up a bit over a white shirt and matching blue pants. He completed the look with a belt, black boots with matching fingerless gloves and a chain on the right side of his belt.

However, the thing that got Asta's attention was the pitch-black robe over his shoulders with a cut up the right side to a fastener there that was completely edged in gold. Over his left breast on the robe was the outline of a bull's head in gold and black. Despite having never actually seen one before, Asta could tell that it was a Quirk Knight robe.

"Woah what Squad is that?" Asta asked with stars in his eyes.

"Dorksta, that's a Black Bull robe." Noelle said annoyed at seeing it as it was the only Squad she was allowed to join, part of the deal that allowed her to enroll in U.A. to become a Quirk Knight, and was a notorious Squad due to having the worst reputation of all Quirk Knight Squads. "The lowest ranked of all the Squads."

"What did you say to me Princess." The boy said with an explosive anger that showed his defense of his Squad. "I am your senior, and you are one of the Quirk Knights who I will be looking after today so show some respect girlie."

"Now Swing, they should know it already so there is no need to get upset." Thirteen said and the lack of actual eyes other than the markings on her helmet made it hard for Noelle to tell if the woman was looking at him. "Just calm down a bit. I know you take pride in the Black Bulls so show it when assisting today."

"So, you're the student." Izuku said looking at the older boy in confusion, as were most of the class. "A Quirk Knight third year?"

"That would be correct." The boy, Swing apparently, said as his eyes narrowed when he looked at Izuku who gulped in nervousness. "You know, you sound an awful lot like Luck, anyone told you that kid? The big difference is that he's a battle mad freak and you're clearly some nervous first year."

"Er I don't know who that is." Izuku said now really confused by Swing.

"That is enough Swing." Aizawa said walking up to Thirteen and Swing.

"Yes Eraser Head, sir." Swing said loudly snapping to attention.

"Don't do that." Aizawa said with a sigh before he looked to the class to explain things. "Swing is here because the nature of Quirk Knights seem to make it that few take up teaching upon retirement, if they retire at all as many stay active to the end even if they just live in remote villages and help out there. So, when we have classes that deal with things Quirk Knights face more than others, and natural disasters are one of them given how all Quirk Knight bases are located in remote areas and their primary duty is to assist in rural issues that affect the nation, we have one of the third years on a rotating basis assist with this class for first years."

"Correct, for your class it is Magna Swing a third year who is currently a provisional Black Bull and will be a full member upon graduation." Thirteen said gesturing to Swing as he grinned at them. "For the other class it will be Klaus Lunettes who is a provision Golden Dawn member."

"Trust me, it's better with me than that fussy old school Quirk Knight." Magna said not needing to add the whole extreme classism as those who knew what an old school Quirk Knight was knew what he meant. "So, I'll be assisting you lot today. Call me Magna, most of us go by our first names anyway."

"If that is all let's head inside." Thirteen said as Magna finished speaking before she turned without another word to lead them into the interior of the building.

The moment the class saw what was inside they gasped in shock at what was before them. Inside the building was a large walkway with a carpet leading to a strange gate thing that was clearly for show that was at the top of a long flight of stairs down to a lower platform that they couldn't see and then a longer flight down to the floor of the building.

That was just the entrance though, it was nothing compared to what was actually housed here that they could clearly see because they were high enough to see everything from where they were. It took their breath away with the sheer scope of what was laid out before them.

There were looking down upon what seemed to be a normal central square with a fountain in the center with greenery around it and a stone floor but that was just about the only normal thing the class saw because all around were trees that bordered 5 of the 6 zones that seemed to be in the large facility which was clearly equipped to deal with multiple types of disaster that a hero might face in his or her career. It basically looked like a larger, indoor, amusement park only with several natural disasters rather than rides.

The class could easily make out 4 of the zones and what disasters that they were likely for. The one to their immediate left looked like a ruined city scape so clearly urban rescue for either the aftermath of a villain attack or an earthquake. Then there was what looked like a landslide zone next to it and finally a mountain zone at the far end of the left side as well which likely had canyons and caves in it to fully simulate the kinda situations they'd run into on a mountain. All Ruby saw with it though was part of her recommended exam obstacle course, the part where Yaoyorozu overtook her before Ruby won it at the end.

That was only a brief though as Ruby moved over that section and continued to look around with the rest of the class. After the mountain zone there was a gap before the first of the 3 zones on the right side of the room as they looked down on it with the farthest one, the one opposite the mountain zone, unidentifiable to them.

That was because unlike the zones on the left, that zone was inside another dome structure that was itself a self-contained facility. It seemed to be made of red glass but on closer inspection, thanks to Shoji's Quirk and his whispered words to those near him that spread, the dome was just glass but with fire inside the dome indicating that it was used to deal with fire rescue. If it was fire then it explained why it was a contained zone.

Next to it was a man-made lake with a ship in it that was partially sunk and a mountain above it feeding water into it via a long twisting slide of all things meaning that it had to be a flood zone for shipwreck and aquatic training. That would be the perfect zone for Tsu, and at the moment the worst for Noelle's control issues, but of course they'd need to learn in all the zones here no matter how hard some of the zones would be for certain students.

The last zone, and one on their immediate right, was another interior dome structure but this one was easier to see in and the class could see what looked like a constant rain or a blizzard in it, it wasn't really clear. Regardless, that meant that that area was used for dealing with things like torrential downpours, blizzards and, knowing U.A., typhoon situations which would also explain why it was a closed zone like the fire one.

"Woah." Kirishima said as the class took it all in as they walked. "It looks like an amusement park but for natural disasters."

"That's kinda what this place is." Magna said with a grin. "It's a lot of manly training here because you're facing the elements."

"Yeah, I can tell." Kirishima said. "This is what will separate men from boys."

"Correct." Thirteen said as she led them to the gateway as she explained the facility. "We have a shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a windstorm, unstable buildings, mountains, and much, much more here that can replicate many natural disasters that you may face in the field. I created this training facility to prepare students for dealing with pretty much anything that mother nature might use to strike Japan no matter how unlikely, well anything except a tornado as that's the one disaster I've not yet safely replicated. As such I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, but you can call it the USJ for short."

"It's just like Universal Studies Japan." Magna said and most of the class got that as Aizawa walked up to discuss something quietly with Thirteen. "Only cooler because we're training to beat nature here."

"I don't get it." Asta said.

"What you've never heard of Universal Studios Japan?" Magna asked incredulously as he looked at the short boy. "Are you from the sticks or something?"

"Yup, Hage Village up north." Asta said with a nod. "I don't really know anything that's down here."

"Oh yeah that is really the sticks." Magna said blinking. "Well, I'm from Rayaka Village so I know the backwoods but a few years here and you learn a thing or two about what goes on in the big cities."

"What no way, that's like really remote." Asta said amazed. "Rayaka's really in the sticks."

"That's rich coming from the kid who's from Hage." Magna said. "You can't get more remote than that place."

As they were talking, Izuku noticed that All Might wasn't here and that that was why Aizawa had gone to quietly speak with Thirteen. As they spoke she raised three fingers and Izuku got what she was implying right away, All Might had used up his three hours already which wasn't a good sign at all. Aizawa agreed as it was irresponsible of him but there wasn't much that he could do about it. Besides, between them and Magna, who had a full provisional license, it should be fine.

"Alright, we'll do for this." Aizawa said raising his voice as he turned to his class. "Let's get started."

"Excellent now listen up class because I have something to say before we begin." Thirteen said to them as they all were brough to attention by her addressing them. "Well maybe more than one, probably two things. Or is it three? Four? Five? Er…"

"They get it Thirteen." Aizawa said with a sigh. "Just get to it."

"Oh, right sorry." Thirteen said before she got serious. "Listen carefully students. I am sure that you are aware that my Black Hole Quirk is a powerful one. I can use it to suck up anything in its path and turn it to dust just like how a black hole sucks up things in space."

"That's correct, you've used it to save countless people from disasters in the past." Izuku said as Ochaco, who turned out to be a big Thirteen fangirl especially because at the moment she was heavily considering being a rescue focused hero, nodded next to him. "It's really useful for that and cleaning up damage so that people can rebuild safely after a disaster has struck."

"That is true but while I can do that my Quirk could also be used kill if it was turned on people or used in a way to cause death by applying to something around people." Thirteen said her tone really serious now and the whole class focused on that. "Some of you also have Quirks that can be dangerous either directly or indirectly depending on how they are used, and I know that after your battle trial you are well away of some of the dangers you pose with them after using them in proper combat against another person."

Noelle grumbled at that because it was her who was effectively being called out, but it was a valid point as she had almost drowned had it not been for Asta, and Weiss for that matter. Plus, she was well aware of the power of Quirks, her brother Nozel's Mercury Quirk could be really lethal and that was just from the whole fact that to pretty much anyone else mercury was poisonous before you got into what he could do with his Quirk.

Besides, a quick look around the class showed the other powers they had. Freezing, blowing up, raw physical strength, creation of any item that was inorganic, gravity nullification, even animal control could be used to kill directly or indirectly depending on how they were applied and that was just a small portion of the Quirks in the class. Hell, even Nero's Sealing Quirk was potentially lethal and there was also the weapons that Weiss and Rose carried that could easily kill.

"In our superhuman society all Quirks as heavily regulated and can't be used except by professionals so we often overlook how unsafe they actually are." Thirteen said after a moment's pause. "And that's not adding in how the weapons that Huntsmen and Huntresses carry are not toys but actual killing machines to handle Grimm but if turned on a human would be just as effective short of Quirks that can resist that kind of damage."

That was very true though both Ruby and Weiss had their weapons currently set to non-lethal modes which meant protective coverings that blunted the blades and non-lethal rounds for the gun part of Crescent Rose. That said Ruby did have a magazine of live ammunition on her, but she was restricted from using it against anything but Grimm at the moment, so it was an emergency magazine while her others contained various non-lethal alternatives which she was allowed to use for training.

"So don't forget that if you lose focus or make a wrong move while using you Quirks or in the Huntresses in this class's case their weapons, your Quirks can be deadly to those around you or even yourself." Thirteen reminded them. "This is the case even in something like rescue when there are other factors to consider that are not within human control."

Thirteen took a moment to pause there as she looked around but by this point the whole class was looking at her seriously and with determination on their faces as they understood what she was saying to them. Thirteen wasn't done but it was clear that this class was getting it right from the start which was a good sign.

"Thanks to your teacher's fitness tests you have a solid baseline of what your Quirk can do." Thirteen continued when she was ready. "And then your combat training showed you how dangerous your Quirks can be both against other people, and for those of you who have some control issues yourselves."

Again, she paused as she looked at them. The Hero Course had allowed the students to assess themselves well up to this point and now it was time to put that assessment to good use in their first rescue training session.

"Make sure to remember those lessons in this class because they will help you become better heroes as you learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives when they need it the most." Thirteen said as she began the last part of she spiel. "In rescue work you will be using your powers solely to help and not attack each other or enemies unless there is a subsequent attack, which can happen, so you have to bear that in mind as well. This is what hero work is all about no matter the branch you serve in, ensuring the safety of others. That is all I have for you before we start so thank you for listening."

At that Thirteen bowed and the class cheered at that, well most did, because it had been inspirational as well as educational and thought provoking for them. This was one area where specific mandates that the other branches focused on was ignored, where all heroes no matter what your primary reasons for being a hero were all came together for the common good and helped out to make sure that as few casualties as possible occurred when their enemy was mother nature herself.

"Right, now that Thirteen has given you the important lecture for this class." Aizawa said as he pointed down to the base of the USJ. "Let's…"

However, before Aizawa could finish there was a surge of electricity that caused all the lights in one of the rings of the dome to suddenly short, some even exploded, and darkened the room which instantly got their attention as it shouldn't have happened. A second later the fountain in the middle of the floor spluttered and then a strange, dark purple, mist in a swirling pattern appeared there and instantly Aizawa's finely tuned senses were on high alert as he turned his eyes wide to look down into the USJ.

As he did the mist seemed to explode as a shadowy silhouette shot up from it with sinister, odd shaped, yellow eyes in the center as the mist roiled around it. Then, from the center of the mist a hand shot out from it followed by a face that was covered by a large human hand that looked too realistic to be a costume or prosthetic item as a man began to walk out of the mist.

"Students, stay here and stay together." Aizawa said suddenly realizing what was going on and that the press thing last week had been a distraction that was used by some villain to gather information on this very class because this was not part of the schedule for the day. "Thirteen, Magna, protect the students and get them to safety."

"What is that thing?" Kirishima asked as they students noticed the mist and the man, covered in hands that were holding his arms and throat as well with red tubes connecting the hands around his neck to the one on the back of his head and wearing a simple black outfit, walked out of the mist followed by several other people who swarmed forward around him. "Has the training started because this doesn't look like rescue training."

"Stay back, this is not a drill." Aizawa ordered as he pulled out his gold goggles and put them over his eyes to hide the glow they had when Erasure was active though he did have another tell that would give away when his Quirk was active or not, but he couldn't do much about short of shaving his head. "Do not move forward. This is real and those people down there are villains."

The numbers kept coming and soon scores of them were out of the mist and gathering in front of the first guy with man looking like gutter punk trash, but several wore the cheap suits of henchmen and several an odd blue hooded robe over some kind of outfit. Then, when it seemed like all the villains had come out to gather down below them, two more came out next to stand next to the hand guy.

One was a giant bird-like villain with dark purple skin that was rippling with muscles and brains spilling out of his head, the other a fancy dressed ginger man with a bowler hat, cane and white jacket that was twirling the cane as he and the monster flanked the original man. There was no doubt in any of their minds that this was real, but it was Ruby's gasp that really brought it home as she recognized the ginger man instantly.

"Rose, is that him?" Aizawa said understanding the reaction from his student as he'd been privy to the incident in which Rose had gotten Ozpin's attention. "The villain who got you your recommendation."

"Yeah that's him." Ruby said with a nod which really got everyone's attention as Ruby hadn't actually told them how she'd earned her recommendation to U.A. "The redhead with the cane, he's the one who's goons tried to rob a store I was in that I fended off, he was their ringleader. He fled with an accomplice who had some fire Quirk that could stand up to Glynda Goodwitch."

"That's not good, stay back everyone." Aizawa said, Rose's confirmation telling him exactly who that man was. "He's not the main villain but that is Roman Torchwick, one of the biggest players in the criminal underworld of Japan. What he's doing here though is strange as something like this is really outside his normal operations. If he is here then it really can't be good."

"Where is All Might?" A deep voice called out to them, and the students and teachers realized that it was the mist that was talking so it was a villain who had a heteromorph body and a warping Quirk which wasn't good as the few with such spatial travel powers should have been accounted for given the concerns that surrounded spatial Quirks. "The schedule we acquired said he'd be here today, but the only real heroes are Thirteen and Eraser Head."

"So, it's as I expected when you showed up, you scumbags used the press as cover for your real goal of acquiring information from U.A." Aizawa said as the mist villain condensed into a narrower, larger, mist thing as his warp power seemed to end. "That's how you got onto campus."

"Where is he?" The hand villain said his voice raspy and not bothering to confirm what Aizawa was saying to them, not that the pro needed any confirmation as he knew that his theory was correct. "I went through the trouble of bringing so many friends, along with a few spectators to show the power we have, and then paid for some more to come here to meet him, to meet All Might, the Symbol of Peace and he's not here. Maybe a few dead kids will get his attention, that will have to do."

At that Aizawa pulled down his cloths and they shot up around him while the students all stared at the villains below them. Less than two weeks into their time at U.A. and they were now seeing what the heroes really faced beyond those Grimm things that were mainly the concerns of Huntsmen and Huntresses. Those were mindless beasts that were someone's Quirk it seemed, however, but these were sentient beings before them. This was the true darkness that the pros faced, this was the evil that they fought and right now it was staring directly up at them.

"Those are villains, real villains?" Kirishima asked confused as the horde began to walk towards them "How is that possible? This is a secure U.A. facility, it shouldn't be possible for them to get into it, right?"

"I agree, why aren't the alarms going off Thirteen?" Yaoyorozu asked as she stepped forward.

"I'm not sure but if the alarms aren't going off then this really isn't good." Thirteen said. "Those should have gone off the moment unauthorized individuals entered. As for how, Magna, your Squad has a person with a similar Quirk to what we just saw, care to explain."

"Yeah sure, basically that purple mist bastard down there has a spatial Quirk, likely some kind of warp gate based on what I just saw." Magna said his composure better than the first years, but he was clearly rattled by the attack. "They're super rare Quirks and usually identified young so that those with them can become heroes as that's the best way to keep track of them. The Black Bulls have a member with that kind of Quirk and from what I've heard the Wizard Kings personal staff has another but that's about it for such Quirks."

"There's a former Huntress turned villain with a similar Quirk." Thirteen said her voice dark at that especially because said former Huntress was the biological mother to Rose's older half-sister and she wasn't sure how much Rose knew about that. "It's not as broad as what we just saw, limited in fact to some kind of soul bond if I recall correctly, but still a nasty one as we don't know everyone who she has made a bond with since she turned her back on the heroes."

"A rogue Huntress?" Weiss asked. "Who?"

"I may know but I'd rather not say." Ruby said as she had a feeling who that Huntress was though she wasn't certain as she'd not been told too much about Raven, her uncle Qrow's sister. "She knew my mother if I recall."

"Oh." Weiss said and knew to leave it at that as clearly this wasn't something Ruby wanted to address.

"If there are villains here then does that mean that the entire campus is under attack?" Todoroki asked his voice oddly calm for the situation. "Or is it just here? Regardless, if the alarms aren't going off then one of these villains must possess a Quirk that can block the alarms, likely an electric or radio wave-based Quirk. Add in that they've carefully chosen this isolated facility that is away from the main campus at a time when classes are being taught makes them fools for trespassing here. Still, they've thought this out and whatever their plan is, they must have an actual objective in mind or else they wouldn't be so brazen. You don't go through this sheer level of planning without one."

"Woah, it's not just his power that got him recommended." Asta said looking at Todoroki, he didn't know anything about the boy's past, so he was unaware of who Todoroki's father was which explained everything about why the two-toned boy knew what he was talking about, but it was still impressive. "He's got a good tactical mind to him as well."

"To be recommended to U.A. you need to have more than Quirk power or Quirk versatility." Weiss said looking to Ruby next to her. "Brains play a key role in it as well as there is a written test as well, one which requires a high score to pass. If I recall the test you took basically made you employ your Quirk in innovative ways."

"Pretty much." Ruby said. "Not sure about what the pass score of the test was."

"It's high enough that a recommended student is expected to rank in the top 5 in the midterms." Yaoyorozu said. "Or at the very least be top percentile nationally in a few categories."

"So, you're also academically gifted?" Noelle asked the short haired Huntress a little surprised. "I know you need to be smart to get into U.A. but no offense Rose, I just haven't seen that from you yet."

"None taken as I wouldn't say that I'm academically gifted, I'm just bilingual from birth so the English part was second nature to me." Ruby said with a shrug. "And I'm really good at math and physics, they carried the other exams. I was second in those two."

"That does explain how she can use her Quirk so efficiently." Izuku said thinking on it. "To be able to move the way Rose does with Petal Burst, it's up there if not better than how Kacchan uses Explosion. I should have…"

"Enough chatter, this is serious." Aizawa said silencing the class. "Thirteen, Magna, get the students out of here and alert the main campus as soon as you can. Kaminari, try to use your Quirk to contact the school, we don't know if our normal comms channels are blocked or being listened into right now. With this kind of planning, they might well be doing that as well."

"Yes sir." Kaminari said as he reached up to a device over his ear to try and juice it with Electrification and notify the school, but it was to no avail.

"Mr. Aizawa, you can't fight them all on your own." Izuku said stepping forward. "You're fighting style isn't suited for groups even with nullification of their Quirks so what will you do sir? Everyone knows that you're skills and Quirk are best in stealth, one on one fights, and as part of a group to take down a tricky villain who's Quirk needs to be erased before engagement begins."

"Learn this all of you." Aizawa said looking back at them. "You can't be a pro if you only have one trick in your arsenal. It's why you all take classes in the other lesser traveled branches to learn what they need and vice versa. To be a successful pro you must be versatile and well rounded, that is what you will learn at U.A. I'll leave the rest to you and Magna, Thirteen, now go!"

At that Aizawa turned back to the villains and leapt from the top of the stairs and to the lower landing as if it was nothing before doing the same with the next one as he charged the villains. They tried to engage him with ranged attacks, but they couldn't as he was clearly using Erasure and withing seconds of landing he took out three of the front-line ranged villains with his binding cloth using a technique that the class didn't think could be done.

From there a large, rocky, four armed heteromorph tied to attack him revealing that full body, permanently active, mutant class Quirks couldn't be erased, which meant that Hagakure's Invisibility Quirk couldn't be, but still that didn't matter as Aizawa showed his hand-to-hand skills by just punching the villain squarely in the face. He then used his binding cloth the grab the villain, dodge an attack from behind while kicking said attacking villain in the head to stagger him back and into two other villains, and then throw the first four-armed guy onto them with a crash.

There was a brief pause and thanks to the goggles no one knew what Quirk was being erased as Aizawa's hair fell down for a moment. Then it shot up as a female villain with a hair-based Quirk tried to attack and it failed distracting her just enough to allow Aizawa to kick her in the face and knock her out as he used the binding cloth to grab the neck of another villain that was trying to attack him.

Those who'd heard of Eraser Head had always seen him as an underworld hero, one who stayed from the spotlight and worked best in, as Midoriya had said, stealth and solo fights. Clearly that wasn't the case as between his Quirk, his martial arts, and the binding cloth he could handle a group pretty well on his own.

That was just what they needed, and the students began to run back to the entrance to get away. Unfortunately, as they were running Aizawa had to blink and for whatever reason the mist villain, the reason possibly being related to something so vile that it would shock the heroes when they learned the truth behind the mist villain, knew precisely when Aizawa wasn't blinking and warped himself away as the leader was complaining about Aizawa living up to his hype as a pro.

Only Torchwick seemed unphased by what was going on but he was just here for money and to provide some manpower and skill if need be. He was a talented fighter in his own right, especially with his cane, and Erasure wouldn't work on him, after all Torchwick, while it wasn't actually public knowledge, was Quirkless so he had nothing to fear from Eraser Head.

That wasn't the big concern now for Aizawa as he was surrounded. That was reserved for the fact that the mist guy, who came off as not the biggest threat per se but the biggest annoyance, appeared in his strange misty form from a portal on the ground to block the students' attempted escape. He'd stopped them getting away and now things were getting really bad.

"It is a pleasure to meet so many young and aspiring heroes, we who have just arrived are the League of Villains, along with a few associated groups." The mist villain said as he formed before them and then grew taller with the mist over his body to hide any weaknesses he might have. "I know that it is impolite to invite ourselves to this little gathering, but we decided to do so anyway. This is a haven of justice after all so what better place than for one such as this to be where All Might, this nation's Symbol of Peace, to draw his final breath?"

That shocked all the students, even those who didn't look up to All Might as the pinnacle of their branches because regards of your path, All Might was something else when it came to power, reputation, and success as a hero. He was the Symbol of Peace for good reason, he gave comfort and reassurance to all across not just Japan but other nations that he'd inspired as well so to hear such a bold claim, backed up by bold actions such as actually invading a U.A. facility, shook or angered the students.

"We were expecting him to be here today, our information said as much and dear old Roman will be so upset at failing this for us as he had made so many promises regarding his ability to acquire things he's not supposed to have." The mist villain continued. "Seeing as there is no sign of All Might, that must mean that there must be some change in his plans that we could not have predicted. That is an oversight on our part, but I assure you we will get him here with the blood of some children as a lure, so it doesn't matter. I have my own role to play in this so…"

Before the mist villain could finish what he was saying, and before Thirteen could act as she was priming her Quirk to handle the villain as Black Hole would be a good one to use on him, Bakugo and Kirishima foolishly leapt in front of her. They forced her to still her hand as they closed in and Bakugo unleashed an explosion as he reached the villain from the hand that had his glove and gauntlet on it, an explosion that kicked up a bunch of dust as the boys landed on the ground several feet in front of the rest of the class.

"Did you think that we would just stand around and let you kill us." Kirishima said his arms hard and ready to strike the mist villain while Asta drew inspiration from his classmates and was about to activate his Quirk to help out, but he was still too far back to do so at the moment. "We're U.A. students, we can't let that happen."

"No, I did not expect that you would be little sheep who were ripe for the slaughter." The mist villain said as his yellow eyes flashed in the smoke before reforming and clearing the smoke to show that he'd evaded it but in the process briefly revealing a metal brace in the air which meant that he had some sort of physical core to his body that needed protecting with a piece of armor though it was only shown for a second. "You have a reputation to live up to and I admire that you do, but you children should be more careful when you attack, otherwise someone might get hurt."

"You two, get out of my way right now." Thirteen ordered. "Magna, get them clear of this place."

"Yes ma'am." Magna said as a ball of fire suddenly formed in his right hand showing that he had a fire-based Quirk. "Come on first years, we need to leave this to the professionals."

"That won't do." The mist villain said as his mist billowed out from around him with such force that the wind from it put out Magna's fire. "It's time I scattered you across this facility to meet our friends…and your deaths!"

At that the mist quickly formed a sphere around them as some students braced and others acted. Ida managed to use a burst from his engines to grab Sato and Uraraka and get out of the mist before it thickened, tackling them to the ground in the process while Shoji did the same with Ashido and Sero though he just pinned them to the ground.

The rest remained standing as they tried to withstand the attack. In the process both Noelle and Nero grabbed Asta as he was nearest them with the former using that as he excuse for grabbing him and the latter just doing so because she would fight by Asta's side regardless, so it was prudent to grab him while Ruby managed to take hold of Weiss's hand so that she wasn't separated from her friend and fellow Huntress. A moment later the warp gates began to open up and 19 U.A. first years were scattered across the USJ.

I think that's a nice little cliffhanger to end this chapter on as we begin the USJ arc with the arrival of the League, and some others that will be clear soon, and the scattering of the U.A. first years before they can get out of the USJ. There really isn't much more to say about this chapter as it's a good set up and allowed for Magna's first appearance in this fic. Next up is how a few new additions to Class 1-A handle the USJ fights, where they end up, and perhaps some things they didn't expect as they fight to stay alive and hold out until help arrives. That is all I have for y'all, however, so I will leave this chapter off here.
