Here is the twenty-seventh chapter in this story released when I wanted it to be released based of my release process for this series. The Sports Festival is well underway now as the second event has started and only 8 teams will advance to the final event of the Sports Festival meaning that Hero Course students will start to be knocked out. To advance you need teamwork, coordination, trust, and points so it's time employ the first three to get the fourth and advance in the Cavalry Battle. Who will achieve that? Well, it's time to see as the Cavalry Battle begins. That is all I have for the administrative stuff I have for y'all and while there are no questions to answer there are three guest reviews to respond do which I will do now before the Cavalry Battle finally begins. To Guest (guest), thank you for your review and support. It was a necessity to show the teams being formed and I'm glad it came off well. Most backstories will be as similar as I can make it to the canon backstory though naturally some things will be harder to work in than others depending on the characters. Neo's was surprisingly easy to work in and making her Roman's spy just felt like something they'd pull off together and it brings her in a little earlier than I planned while fleshing out all this. She'll get more page time to come and we'll properly get to see Overactive Imagination as a Quirk when that happens. I'd been putting off Roman Holiday for a while but this story finally gave me the motivation I needed to listen to it and it really helped. Her father was an ass though honestly I'd say her mother was more sinister as she did care for Neo but had her own, deeper, subtler scheme going on. As for the other teams, Mimosa had to be with Team Asta because she's part of that group and this way I can include her more, who knows what she'll think of being on a team with him when she gets to properly see him up close. I've used the talking to Aoyama in French in my other MHA story thought that is actually crossed over with a series set in France but I've made Weiss and Noelle polyglots so it makes sense for them at time to use it and I'll be doing more of it when it is needed. Ruby's starting to emerge as a leader and choosing Ojiro was part of that, she needed the right person for the team and she may have just found it. Yuno's team just made sense and it allows Shinso to show off what he could be in the Hero Course from the start which will begin in this chapter. Yeah I was surprised they brough back Mic's first VA but the guy's seriously talented, I've heard him in several animes and still can't tell who he is from role to role (yes he has a Black Clover role as well) and I'm glad that he got healthy enough again to return to MHA. To Nathan Ramos (guest), the teams did turn out well and they got some good ones that keep things balanced and set going forward. Asta's a Shonen protagonist, density just comes with the territory for him. As for your question, I am not sure yet as it is a personal thing for Shoto so certainly he'd be hesitant to share it with anyone but Yuno's not in his class at all so that's highly unlikely. As for Ruby and Weiss I'm not sure as neither really have an opinion on Endeavor at the moment so they can't really say though I think for Weiss it will be more a final someone with daddy issues that are almost as bad as mine so he'd be able to relate. Certainly within the class she'd be the best one to understand but I'm not sure if any will find out just yet. Keep reading and seeing what happens as I've got plans for Todoroki later in the Sports Festival and they should be worth it.

To AutoHunterJ49 (guest), the story looks interesting as it's a larger scale than most like it, I may check it out when I have the time. Personally, I don't mind Mineta either way, he's a standard anime trope and so long as he's punished for his actions it's fine and he certainly does get punished to the point of the Clockwork Orange torture (great reference MHA made there). In this story I actually need him to be his canon self (I also try to avoid making characters OOC) because as strange as it is, his perversity will be of critical importance for a character's development later on and that development is pure and wholesome but the only one able to ensure it is Mineta but that is a fair ways off. Chapter 27: Cavalry Charge

The moment the word 'begin' was said several of the teams charged right for Team Midoriya going straight for the 10 million points that he had, the additional 335 was essentially irrelevant due to that number alone. It was, as Tetsutetsu yelled while his team charged, one big battle for Midoriya's points.

Almost instantly the second event of the Sports Festival became a free for all and Asta wanted in on it as Hagakure, who for some reason that not even her embarrassed team could understand, was topless, though being fully invisible it didn't matter, cackled her own charge showing that there was no class loyalty in Class 1-A. Not that Asta expected it in this event, the only loyalty that you had was to your team and so Asta called out to the girls carrying him.

"Let's go, that headband will be ours." Asta said caught up in the moment as he pointed towards Midoriya. "Giddy up, let's get him."

"If you say that again I'll drop you and then drown you." Noelle said threateningly. "I still can't believe that we agreed that Asta be the rider."

"Well we are technically the horses." Mimosa said from her position at the front. "So it's not wrong."

"Don't encourage him." Nero said bluntly. "And don't worry, I'll seal my feet to the ground if need be to ensure that we don't do anything stupid though I trust you two to also not move. This is why we have to carry this idiot; it stops him from being an idiot."

"Come on, let's move." Asta said eager to get into the fray but thankfully his team of girls, a fact several of the more amorous or perverted in the class had noticed and were envious about, were with him to keep him grounded. "We should go after those points."

"Asta, don't forget the plan." Noelle scolded as Asta as they didn't move and without them Asta couldn't go anywhere just like Nero had pointed out so Noelle could accept having to carry Asta as it was the best part of the plan even if she was acutely aware of his body being in contact with hers. "Nero came up with a good one so be patient. We're already starting in second, we don't want to draw too much attention to ourselves, especially right at the start."

"Yes, let the first wave attack on Midoriya hit and see what happens." Nero said still ready to seal her feet to the ground if need be but Noelle and Mimosa, the other girl had insisted on using her first name as well, were sensible so wouldn't even if Noelle had her own current issues and was beat red having Asta sitting on one shoulder while holding his foot Nero had meant what she'd said, she trusted them to not move until they had to. "Then we make our move once the dust, or as I predict, ice settles."

"Ice isn't the only thing Midoriya's team will have to worry about." Mimosa said as Midoriya yelled that his team was running away, which in this position was the only valid strategy his team really had in the Cavalry Battle. "Because my class has Honenuki and beyond his flexible mind, his Quirk is, well, one of the best capture Quirks in our class."

"What do you…oh." Noelle said as they saw Tetsutetsu's team stop and the guy in the front of their formation, the skull faced boy who'd come 8th in the Obstacle Race, planted his foot down and the ground seemed to shift in consistency in a line from it to Midoriya's team that suddenly began to sink into it showing that it was no longer hard. "So he can turn the ground into quicksand or something?"

"Close, Honenuki's a recommended student like me and his Softening Quirk allows him to soften anything he touches." Mimosa said, her being in Class 1-B was a big boost to them as she could tell them all of her class's Quirks given their team an advantage over the others in their class as most of Class B's Quirks were unknown to them. "It only works on inorganic material though and will return to normal if he's knocked out but with his mind he really know how to properly use it. I's damned useful for group capture and no doubt one of the reasons why Tetsutetsu wanted Honenuki on his team."

"I see, I'll note that for later just in case we need to deal with them." Nero said as Midoriya flew out of the softened ground his team was sinking into with the aid of an air jetpack on his back though that alone couldn't lift his team but, well, they had Uraraka on that team so it was clear who was aiding in their flight. "And that is why having a Support Course teammate is really useful. That girl is likely only using Midoriya to show off but it's working, escaped a recommended student's Quirk, not bad. Add in that most won't realize that they're only flying because of Uraraka's Quirk and that Support Girl's going to get some recruitment offers."

"Hus, so that's why they have Tokoyami." Asta said ignoring Nero's musings as they watched Jiro try to grab at Midoriya's headband with her Earphone Jacks but was blocked by Dark Shadow who then moved to guard back of the team. "I was wondering that."

"Clever, he's allowing them to protect their blind spots with mid-range defense while also providing an element of offense as well." Nero said switching her observations to the final member of Midoriya's team as they landed on the ground again and began to run away. "Midoriya's got a seriously tactical mind, possibly the best in the class and his knowledge of how to apply Quirks is unmatched which is showing right now. If anyone else had gotten that headband they may have struggled but he's done well with it and chose the right 4th for the job."

"Um, guys, we should get moving." Mimosa said as small vine sprouts, the first line of their defense if need be, sprouted on hers, Nero's and Noelle's shoulders from seeds she's placed there. "We've been standing around too long and Monoma's about to make his move in the chaos. In fact, he's already done so, he's grabbed that invisible girl's headband so we can no longer be idle. He'll likely try to come for us at some point because I chose to side with you which makes me a traitor to his plan despite not agreeing to join him in it, so best to move."

"Right move out and stick to the edges while walking as casually as possible." Asta said finally calming down and implementing the plan as Hagakure began to freak out and the event began to devolve into a full on free for all. "Bide our time and then strike for insurance when needed, right?"

"Right." Nero said as they began to move. "We need to be careful in this if we want to advance."

"Wow, barely 2 minutes have passed and it's already becoming an all-out brawl!" Present Mic announced loudly to the cheering crowd that the students had zoned out as most of the teams continued to focus on Midoriya but some, like Monoma's team, were already making their own moves as part of their respective grand plans. "You'd better watch those headbands, yeah! You know that in an event like this you don't need the 10 million to advance, just go after the other chart toppers."

"Hence the evasion." Nero muttered annoyed that their enthusiastic English teacher who was the main commentator had pointed that out as they reached the edge and began to slowly walk around it to avoid being noticed. "We're currently second and so long as enough fall out we advance by default."

"Which is why some of them are being sensible and staying out of the fight at the moment, especially those nearer the higher end of the scores and who are not gunning for Midoriya." Oobleck said pretty much confirming Nero's plan. "Wise, this is about advancement and those who can forsake pride for it will advance."

"Pride has been the downfall of many of heroes no matter the branch." Port added. "So being able to forsake it for your team and fellow heroes can save lives and ensure completion of missions at times. A valuable lesson to learn indeed."

"Still, this is all so cool!" Julius said excitedly as Asta's team kept to the outside while the fight for the top spot continued with a few teams really closing in on Midoriya. "And look, they've managed to slow down the top team. What Quirk did that? I can't see but it's causing them trouble so it must be a good capture Quirk."

"That would be Minoru Mineta's Pop Off Quirk, it's one of the best capture Quirks in this year and the reason he got into U.A. as the purpose of the normal entrance exam was to incapacitate the robots so not necessarily destroy them as immobilizing them counted." Oobleck explained, which also explained why some of the strong but not destructive Quirks like Pop Off and Tape had been enough to get those kids into U.A. "It would appear he and Tsuyu Asui are using their small stature to ride on the back of a much larger classmate who's using his own Quirk to protect them and their point. Interesting, do the judges allow it?"

"It's permitted." Midnight declared with a crack of her flail. "So long as the team is comprised of 2 to 4 students and the headband wearer is a rider and doesn't touch the ground it's ok."

"Interesting." Nero said as they continued to move ignoring the fight as best as possible while also keeping tabs on it so they noticed that Midoriya managed to escape Mineta's Quirk but at the cost of one of the boots they were using that had been trapped by one of Mineta's sticky balls. "Not a bad tactic but they're away. Be ready for that though, his balls are annoying."

"That sounds dirty, please don't say that in reference to Mineta again even if it is about his Quirk." Noelle said with a shudder as there was an explosion and they saw Bakugo blast up into the sky to go for the headband having left his carriers behind to charge after the airborne Team Midoriya. "And now Bakugo is going for it too. That is an advantage of his Quirk, I'll give him that despite his terrible attitude."

"Is that even allowed?" Mimosa asked as Dark Shadow blocked a blast from Bakugo to protect the team though the shadow monster screamed from the block and caused Bakugo to fall back but Sero caught him with his tape and hauled him back to the team as Present Mic asked the same question that Mimosa had just asked. "He's the rider so shouldn't he remain on his teammates?"

"Bakugo never touched the ground so it's within the rules." Midnight declared with another crack of her flail. "The air is fair game for riders."

"I see that makes things more interesting as it gives riders like Bakugo and Rose who can either fully or briefly fly a greater advantage." Nero said thinking as they continued their steady pace around the stadium. "But there are other ways to use that rule. I have an idea but it will only work if the opening presents itself. We need to get at least one headband as insurance so if we can I'd like to try it but for now it's best to stick to the plan and wait for an opening."

"Right." Asta said. "Onwards noble steads, to the next round."

"I'm going to drown him for that." Noelle grumbled. "I warned him already so when this is over I'll make good on that.

"Yeah that was annoying." Nero agreed as they moved but there was little she could do about it as Mimosa just chuckled from the front as she was finding Asta very interesting as a person. "Best to ignore him when he gets like that."

Noelle nodded at that and thankfully Asta didn't say anymore so the next few moments things remained pretty standard for them though. They were able to keep out of the way of the other teams by virtue of simply moving around the outside and not drawing any attention to themselves while the other teams for the most part duked it out.

There were some points lost, in addition to Hagakure's team, Mineta's had lost their headband to a sneaky and subtle move by Team Tetsutetsu though they'd not realized it yet, dropping the number of Class 1-A teams that were challenging the top spots down while boosting two of the Class 1-B teams. It was still early but losing points wasn't a good thing as it made it harder in the long run and this event was all about planning for the whole thing and not just the start.

That was what their team had done and as the initial attack clearly Asta could see that some of the other teams were also playing it safe, or at least biding their time, like they were. That was what Yuno's team was doing, they'd backed up at the start and had retreated to the edge where they were now watching and waiting but for what Asta didn't know. With their points they were in the top 8 so they were fine but he had a feeling Yuno had a plan for the event as Yuno wasn't one to idly stand around.

That was good, his rival always had a plan, usually a really cool one knowing Yuno, so they stayed clear of him. In addition, Rose's team had seemingly vanished, no one was paying them attention and it seemed like that was part of their strategy though why, and where were they, was a mystery.

If Asta had looked harder he would have noticed that Ruby's team wasn't anywhere special, they'd just done the same as Asta and Yuno's team and backed away from the fight right at the start before slowly and calmly walking to a corner and parking themselves there as they waited for their moment while ready to use their strong defense if needed. Weiss and Ruby had a plan but it relied on being inconspicuous and they were managing that by not standing out.

Part of that plan played into the fact that Ruby was small and so as the rider she didn't register to most, especially because she had one ass cheek on Weiss's shoulder and the other was actually being supported by Ojiro's tail instead of his shoulder. The problem was Aoyama at the front as he had a habit of twinkling into the limelight but he was under orders not to stand out, which was the hardest thing for the team really.

The plan worked though because Weiss was only an inch taller than Ruby and close to half a foot shorter than Ojiro. The result was that Ruby was lower than normal and with Ojiro being so unassuming he was acting as a shield for her from the other teams in more than just using his height to obscure her so they didn't go after him. That and at the halfway point of the round the first big moment happened just as Present Mic was commentating on that milestone being reached.

"At the halfway point of the round let's check in on the standings with half the time left." Present Mic said and the boards changed to reveal the standings and the cut off point for advancement. "And…oh my, looks like other than Teams Midoriya, Todoroki, Rose, and Asta, Class 1-A isn't doing so hot. Even Bakugo's losing."

"What!" Asta said causing the girls to stop and looking at the board to see that Bakugo had zero points as the commentators began to discuss the strategy that had put Team Monoma into a strong second place following the grabbing of Bakugo's headband. "What just happened?"

"Monoma's plan has been fully realized." Mimosa said with a sigh. "He's thinking about the bigger picture in the Sports Festival, it's why most of my class hung back in the race and stayed in a group to conserve energy and watch your class go all out early on. It allows him to analyze your Quirks, see what you can do and plan for this because he figured not many would be cut after the first event."

"Not a bad plan." Noelle admitted. "Our class does have a lot of people who want to show off and be at the top."

"Precisely, for some reason Monoma is fixated on the fact that not all heroes are going to be in the limelight and so he believes that if you play a supporting or background role you can outshine when the right moment comes." Mimosa said as she explained Monoma as best she could. "Now that moment has come and he's going to use it to go after the lower ranked ones of your class while everyone is focused on the top. That's why he got the invisible girl's headband and based on the points and what I see, Shiozaki grabbed the one on that boy's back as she's the only one on that team with ranged combat skills. That just leaves us, Rose, Bakugo, Midoriya, and Todoroki as targets in your Class, plus me."

"So we're going to have some of them come for us then." Asta said. "Best get ready."

"Someone will once the focus on Midoriya wains or the others realize that you don't need to be at the top to advance." Mimosa explained. "Some understand that, some like Yuno disagree and will do their own things, and Monoma wants Bakugo in particular because of that incident with your class the other day, well that and his own reasons. The others in your class are fair game."

"I see and it looks like Monoma is taunting Bakugo." Nero said as they watched that exchange go on now that Bakugo had lost his headband. "Not a good idea in the long term. No matter how angry that boy gets, his head is clear when it comes to battle and his drive is up there with Asta's and Midoriya's it seems."

"That's not all." Noelle said as she looked around and noticed something of interest to them. "Mimosa, come to a stop. Todoroki had cornered Midoriya on the other side. This could be the opening we want."

"Got it." Mimosa said as the halfway point was past and the Cavalry Battle kicked up a notch.

"So what now?" Asta asked as they came to a stop right as Todoroki's charge caused the others near him to also charge at Midoriya who seemed to be grounded now that one of the support items was broken. "Do we move on the stragglers and get their points now?"

"No, we watch and wait." Nero said and she wasn't the only one, she noticed Asta's rival's team doing the same thing though she had a gut feeling that they weren't after the same thing given what Yuno had said in the pledge so she felt secure leaving them to their own plans as their team's plans were different. "Because…there it is."

Todoroki's team that carried him comprised of Ida, a surprise given Ida's friendship with Midoriya but the boy's competitiveness likely forced him to seek a different team out given Midoriya's points value, Yaoyorozu, and Kaminari. It was a good and well balanced team with speed in Ida, versatility in Yaoyorozu who had her shirt open for this and had likely made items beforehand to fully harness the others' Quirks, and ranged suppression in Kaminari.

This was shown almost as soon as Asta and his team got a good look at Todoroki's team when Yaoyorozu made some items that protected them from Kaminari unleashing a charge of electricity that came right after she made them. The electricity stunned all the teams around the but Midoriya's as Dark Shadow took the charge head on to protect them though it looked like it hurt him, before Todoroki used his ice, via an item from Yaoyorozu that allowed him to send it into the ground, to freeze half the teams in place.

"I don't believe it, for the second time in the Sports Festival, Todoroki has stopped all the other teams with his ice." Present Mic said excitedly as the crowd roared at the sudden development. "He's really cold with that move."

"That move was only possible because of Kaminari's electricity stunned the other teams long enough for Todoroki to effectively use his ice." Aizawa said in a bored tone. "It's an adaptation of his earlier strategy that he no doubt had to make after so many avoided it the last time. This is only possible due to the team event but still it shows his quick adaptability."

"Yes, and he's formed a strong team that is well balanced between its members and their Quirks." Oobleck said as Todoroki took the headbands for Teams Rin and Kamakiri on the way. "And he's gained himself some insurance points as well, a clever move as you never know when you might lose points before the end of this event."

"Overall a wise move to stun, freeze, and get points from Team Todoroki but it looks like he's pinned Team Midoriya on the edge which is a big bonus." Port said. "It's just them there and it looks like Team Midoriya can't fly anymore so the 10 million points are really on the line now."

"So cool, that team is using all their Quirks in tandem like a well-oiled machine that even veteran heroes struggle to make work to set up this showdown." Julius said. "It's amazing to watch so many cool Quirks be used in such a manner."

"They've got nowhere left to run!" Present Mic said clearly now in full hype mode. "Could this be it for them?"

"Ignore the commentary, this is our moment." Nero said as the ice went up in a semicircle to close off Teams Todoroki and Midoriya from the rest of the Cavalry Battle. "Right now, only Bakugo, Yuno, and Asta can realistically and safely get to those two before the time expires and we're not going to bother. Bakugo's going after Monoma so we need to move now. Head to the edge of the ice but don't go on it."

"On it." Mimosa said as they set off at a good pace towards the ice while Monoma blasted Bakugo in the face with his own Quirk as he'd copied Explosion when he'd grabbed Bakugo's headband and the commentary ramped up. "What's the plan?"

"There are two teams in the ice that have points." Nero said looking at them and ignoring a louder explosion from Bakugo in retaliation to getting hit by his own Quirk but that was blocked as Monoma had already copied Kirishima's Quirk and thus revealed to Bakugo the true nature of his Quirk.. "That orange haired girl who is on an all-girls and a co-ed team with that General Studies student in it. Mimosa, you know the Quirks that we're dealing with as other than that General Studies girl they're your classmates. Which team is safer to go after?"

"In this situation, Team Kodai are the easier of the two as Kendo's team has some nasty tricks on their side with Komori's Mushroom Quirk plus Yanagi's Poltergeist Quirk has got good range that can be applied defensively and Tokage's Lizard Tail Splitter Quirk could be a nuisance if we let her be a factor." Mimosa said leading them to that trapped team. "And that's not factoring in how well Kendo can defend her headband with Big Fist. They're too well balanced I'd say but while Kodai's team has decent range, Asta can handle that with his swords and so long as Fukidashi and Bondo are covered we can get that headband. Kodai's Quirk won't work on organic materials and requires touch so she's not a factor."

"That's good because the plan hinges on you using your plants to hold Asta aloft and allow him to fight as freely as possible while sending another one out to get the headband while they're distracted." Nero said. "Can you do that?"

"I may be more focused on support when it comes to combat but I am still a member of House Vermillion and a recommended student." Mimosa said her tone serious. "Of course I can manage that."

"Good then tell us the Quirks of that team." Nero said. "The General Studies girl is a wildcard so we'll approach to keep her between us and them just to be safe."

"Then go from the rear side, Fukidashi's Quirk is called Comic and it allows him to materialize onomatopoeia in the real world." Mimosa said as she explained the Quirks they'd be facing. "They take the form of Japanese letters and it's a long range Quirk. It's powerful and tough to counter at times but as Asta can nullify other Quirks it shouldn't be a problem."

"Er what?" Asta asked as they moved. "I don't get it."

"I'm actually confused as well." Noelle said. "He makes onomatopoeia real? That's hard to visualize."

"Yeah it's easier to see it in action than to explain it." Mimosa admitted. "But just nullify it Asta."

"Ok and you said he speaks them, so his Quirk is in his voice box." Asta said as the rend appeared in the air in the air next to him and he took out his short sword that he'd told Mimosa about in the planning so that she was up to date with his second sword. "And the big guy at the front? What can he do?"

"Bondo's Quirk is called Cemedine and allows him to create glue out of the holes in his head that he has a measure of control over as he can determine how fast or slow it solidifies." Mimosa said as Bondo showed that but creating it despite being frozen to get in the way of Bakugo's team as they hunted down Monoma's. "It's a strong capture Quirk so don't get it on you."

"Alright I got this then." Asta said with a grin as they got nearer while Monoma and Bakugo moved on as the latter was solely focused on getting his points back from the former so he wasn't paying attention to any of the other minor skirmishes going on. "Let's show them what we can do."

The girls nodded as they continued to carry Asta towards the team. As they did, Neo, who felt she was in the perfect spot for her mission now that she frozen and unable to get points though the ice was annoying but thankfully the damage was minimal enough that she could control her illusion without an issue, noticed the attack coming as part of her general observations of the Hero Course students.

She didn't care about the attack that was coming but she had to play her role so she nudged Fukidashi's shoulder and tipped her head back and in the direction of the coming attack. He got the hint and looked back to see Team Asta closing in on them which caused two exclamation points to appear on his speech bubble head.

"We're under attack, it's the team with that loudmouth with the sword." Fukidashi said to the others not turning back to them as he angled himself enough to face their attackers. "And Mimosa is with them. She's on a team with all Class 1-A people, Monoma won't be happy with that as we weren't supposed to team up with any from their class."

"She didn't agree with the plan so she can do whatever she wants." Bondo said looking over his shoulder at the coming attack. "Can you handle them?"

"So long as they can't counter me I've got this, don't worry I can keep them at bay and protect out points." Fukidashi said as he focused on his Quirk. "BOING!"

As he said the last word, Japanese letters formed in the air and shot at the team approaching them. The letters were bouncy and would repel projectiles or people if they came in contact with them, which was the plan as the word would bounce the other team back and show them that they couldn't get past Fukidashi's defense. At least that was the plan until Asta grinned and swiped his sword at them as they came and they burst on contact, destroyed by the edge as he cut through the attack.

"Now Mimosa!" Nero yelled and suddenly a series of thick vines shot up from the seeds on the girl's shoulders and grabbed Asta around the waist, hauling up and moving as the girls came to a stop at the edge of the ice so that Asta was in the air, still grinning, and heading to the other team as he brandished his sword while making sure to keep it away from the vines around his waist. "We've got them."

"How'd you do that?" Fukidashi asked as he created another BOING before adding. "It shouldn't be possible."

"It can when my swords can nullify Quirks and their effects." Asta said slashing and destroying the second BOING like he did the first and it causing Neo to go wide eyes where she was, that was seriously the worst possible thing she could be seeing right now as one tap from that sword would completely expose her. "So we're taking your points."

"Not if…gah." Fukidashi said as Asta reached him ready for a near point blank blast back that was only possible because his team was trapped in the ice but before he could Asta tapped the tip of his sword to what he thought was the boy's throat, it was kinda hard with his speech bubble head, and nullified Fukidashi's Quirk for a moment with the direct strike to his Quirk Factor. "My Quirk, what did you do?"

"I can also temporarily nullify your Quirk if I hit you in the Quirk Factor." Asta said still grinning as Mimosa moved him back and around as Bondo turned his head seeing an opening to use his glue. "Which if it's localized is actually a lot harder so sorry for that jab but had to go for your throat there."

"Well you won't stop this." Bondo said as he unleashed his glue as Kodai watched not noticing Mimosa sneak a second vine from a hidden seed in the vine controlling Asta out to loop around the whole team and grab Kodai's headband before Asta did what he was about to do. "I can still use my Quirk."

"Think again." Asta said as the rend appeared in the air again and he pulled out his larger sword, swinging it one handed as he withdrew it to slam the flat into the glue before it could hit them and rebounding it back at the team even faster to cover them in it. "Don't bother, this is ours."

Asta hadn't stopped at the bat back, he continued the sword through the swing and slammed the flat of the blade into Bondo's face with an audible thunking sound. Between the force of hit and the density of the blade, Bondo was knocked out and slumped forward the ice keeping him up and forcing Kodai to grab him and press her body to Bondo's back as Fukidashi and Neo lent forward now all stuck together thanks to the glue. Asta then turned to Kodai but she was in no position to defend, not that she'd be able to as Asta noticed that Mimosa had already broke off a bit of the vine and grabbed her headband.

"Looks like our work is done." Asta said as Mimosa pulled Asta back to them along with her Quirk while he dismissed his own. "Thanks for the insurance points."

In no time Asta was back with girls so that the moment he was secured by his carriers they moved off left the team where it was as Asta took Kodai's headband from Mimosa's vine and tied it around his neck. They'd gotten some more points and were moving away with Fukidashi and Kodai upset but Neo was fine, this guaranteed that she'd lose so she was happy with that and what she'd seen though now that she was glued to her teammates there wasn't much more that she could see for the rest of the event.

As this was going on, things were really picking up all around them. They got free just as Bakugo roared and punched through a solid air barrier that Tsuburaba had created with his Solid Air Quirk to grab two of the three headbands around Monoma's neck that were his own team's and Monoma's leaving only Hagakure's stolen headband there.

Between that and the enclosed matchup between Teams Midoriya and Todoroki it was now getting desperate for the teams still able to move in the event but not enough points to advance. That meant that as Bakugo's team left with some of Monoma's points, Monoma had some of the few remaining points that were easily in play and given that they were above 400 that would mean that whoever had them would make it.

That was because, at the moment, there were 9 teams with points but one team, Team Kendo, was stuck in the ice and couldn't get any more points so if you had more than them you secured advancement. As such, as Bakugo was brought back to his team to refocus on Midoriya, the few Class B teams that were both able to move and in desperate need of points turned on each other as time was now running out and headed for Monoma as he was the easiest and most open target they could see.

Monoma realized this and needed to protect them so they began running away with Tsuburaba and himself using Tsuburaba's Quirk to protect them from their own classmates as it became every team for themselves. It was a good plan, or would be if their line of movement wasn't going to take them in front of Asta's team and they had range and precision that the others didn't.

"Mimosa, can you get that." Asta said seriously as he saw Monoma approaching. "I know it's a lot but…"

"I've got it." Mimosa said seriously, she'd been inspired by Asta's recent display and wanted to show that she could match that as she opened her mouth and formed a seed on her tongue but she kept it there as she made it grow to a vine and shot it from her mouth while ignoring the taste from her plant.

Monoma didn't see it until it was too late. He thought he was clear and let go of the headband around his neck right as they ran for an open space to whole up but as he did Mimosa's plant vine reached him and grabbed it its tendril. Before Monoma could process it, Mimosa yanked her head back and the vine arched up in the air and away from Monoma as his team continued to run forward not realizing what happened. To make it worse for them they had no one on their team who could handle a ranged move like that so there was no way they'd get their points back before Mimosa brought them to Asta.

"Mimosa, you traitor!" Monoma yelled as he turned to see Mimosa arc the vine back to Asta who grinned and took it in his hand so that Mimosa could spit out the vine and gag on the taste while Asta tied their second stolen headband around his neck. "You knew the plan and yet you joined the enemy! How could you do this to your own class?"

"And I told you I didn't want any part of your stupid plan." Mimosa shouted back as she let seeds come off her and fall to the ground around her. "So deal with it Monoma. We should play nice with the other class, not treat them like enemies. If it means being a traitor in your eyes then so be it but I'll make sure that you don't advance and I do."

"Damn Mimosa, you're Quirk is amazing, we couldn't have gotten any of these points without you so thank you, you're the best." Asta said giving her his usual grin as Mimosa looked back and up at him and causing her to look away and go bright red at that as Noelle pouted at that while Nero smirked, this might get even better than she thought. "Alright, fortify our position team. We have all the points we need, let's protect them."

"On it." Noelle said it was her time to shine and show Asta just how valuable she was, and the others of course because she wasn't just doing this for Asta as she controlled the water in her pouch to flow out and through her wand so that it was now in the air around them. "Mimosa, back me up once the water dome is up."

"Of course Noelle." Mimosa said as Noelle controlled the water remembering how she did it back in the USJ to form the dome around them and the whirlpools appeared in the water for added defense from ranged attacks. "Woah Noelle, this is unreal, you've gotten so much more control over Hydromancy now."

"Yes well it was just a matter of time before I managed it." Noelle said in a smug tone as the seeds burst and several tall, waving, thorn covered, thick, tree like plants shot up and formed an additional barrier around them in the dome. "And this is good as well. They'll have to get past my water and cut through your plants and few can manage that."

"And the ones who can within the remaining time frame are currently busy duking it out for the 10 million points." Nero said. "So this is just what we need."

"Between you two and your amazing Quirks we've got this." Asta said with a grin as the cousins went bright red at his praise. "Now we just need to hold out for how long? Any of you know?"

"90 seconds, give or take." Nero said. "I glanced at the clock and it was 2 minutes before Noelle's water went up so that is roughly how long."

"Right then let's hold out." Asta said with a grin as he knew others would try but Noelle's water would hold against what was out there, and even if it didn't Mimosa's impromptu forest would be another obstacle for them to deal with. "And then it is onto the next round. I hope the others make it as well."

The girls just nodded at that as they holed up in their defensive shell with their 1445 points. That was more than enough to ensure advancement but the question was about the other teams and how they did. Little did any of them know but this was the moment where the final acts were done and both Teams Rose and Shinso finally made their moves in the Cavalry Battle.

"There's not much time left in the Cavalry Battle." Weiss said as they heard the announcement about a final clash going on and saw Bakugo get close to Monoma. "Are you ready Ruby?"

"Yeah move out." Ruby said to her team as she saw her target and grinned. "Let's knock the one Class B team that thinks it can advance at the cost of our class. Stay back boys, I'll handle it, Weiss be ready to give me platforms. Aoyama, prime that belly button just in case as we don't know what kind of ranged abilities they have beyond that guy who can make you sink into the ground which isn't a concern to us."

"Oui, if zere is a chance to twinkle then I will do zat." Aoyama said as the rest of her team nodded and began to move towards their target. "I shall protect you, Rose."

Their target was Team Tetsutetsu who had holed up on a patch of hard ground with a moat of whatever that skull faced boy could do around them protecting their team from approach on foot and ready to act to defend their points. They'd started in third and gotten a solid second headband from Mineta when he wasn't looking thanks to Shiozaki's Quirk so they were in a good spot and had backed off to let the rest of their class get points and advance as well.

This was the safest for them and while they wanted the 10 million that was out of the question now thanks to Todoroki's actions in walling off Midoriya from the other teams so they just had to wait it out. That was why this was the perfect time for Ruby to strike and with her Quirk and skills she would secure it no problem and the limited time remaining coupled with Weiss's Quirk would ensure that Tetsutetsu and his team couldn't get the points back.

Team Rose had deliberately bided its time in a corner of the arena to watch as the points were exchanged and they went up and down depending on who had gained or lost points. They were unassuming having started in 6th so while they were in an advancing spot at the start they weren't high enough, or loud enough, to draw attention and with their formation they were further overlooked by the others. Most of the teams were either distracted by Midoriya's points and fighting each other in that area or nonchalantly waiting things out so it was safest for them to do the latter as well.

That said, Ruby had wanted to be in the action but Weiss had been insistent on this and so she'd relented and agreed to wait until it was time to act. That time was now and they were moving into position, which would be as soon as they were in Ruby's comfortable range to attack with Petal Burst while still being far enough away to not be noticed until it was too late to do anything about it.

As such, the moment they reached that point Ruby acted by bursting directly up into the air to get off her teammates and then reformed when she felt that she was high enough to ensure she reached Tetsutetsu before his team could react and bursted forward to fly right at Tetsutetsu. This was going to be risky but at the same time it would be a lot of fun, for Ruby at least.

"Man, we've got this." Tetsutetsu said with a grin as Ruby tore through the air right at his back so he had no clue how much danger he was in. "Monoma's got Bakugo's headband along with that invisible girl's and we've got the little pervert's headband as well. We're really putting the boot to those Class A jerks. Now we just need the other teams to get moving and secure the other headbands so that we can at least force most of them out. This is going…"

"Yeah you may think you're smart but we're not going to go down without a fight." Ruby said as she burst out of her quirk right behind a startled Tetsutetsu to wrap her left arm around his throat and grab the headband there in the process while fixing her legs around his waist in in an improvised piggyback ride pressing her chest to his back as his team looked up in shock at the sudden arrival of one of Class A's students while red rose petals fluttered down over them. "But let's take this somewhere more private, shall we?"

At that, and before Tetsutetsu's team could react, Ruby burst upwards with Tetsutetsu in her hold so that he was bursted as well creating a steel gray swirl that rained that color petals down on his team and mixed with Ruby's own red swirl as they looked up wide eyed at what had just happened. Still they reacted and instantly Shiozaki shot her vines upwards and at them as she yelled about how sinful Ruby was for attacking from behind just as Ruby burst out of her Quirk at its apex.

"What the hell was that!" Tetsutetsu roared his eyes wide at the experience he'd just been through as Ruby continued to hold onto his back. "That was seriously freaky. Wait, you're the girl from Class A who led the race for the most part. Shit, you're one of their recommended students so you're Quirk control is seriously good."

"Yup, name's Ruby Rose and I'll be taking these from you." Ruby said as she yanked off the headband around Tetsutetsu's neck, her legs still around him, as the vines slammed into a glyph Weiss had made in the air between them to both protect Ruby from the vines and catch them as they fell towards it. "Don't mess with Class A."

"Damn you, you won't get my headband!" Tetsutetsu roared as he turned to steel and brought his arm up to grab Ruby and toss her off him. "Get off me."

"Oh looks like it's time to go then." Ruby said as she could tell that getting grabbed by a guy who could turn his body to steel wouldn't be good so she burst up and off Tetsutetsu before reforming above him and planting her still bootless feet, she'd not reclaimed her boots yet as they were still being thawed out after the Obstacle Race, on his shoulders as she pushed down and backflipped off him her prize of Hagakure's headband in her left hand. "See you in the next round then."

At that Ruby burst once more to get clear of Tetsutetsu as fell down, Weiss's glyph vanishing as he did, so that he was caught in Shiozaki's vines with a curse and brought back to safety on his team. The move had inadvertently ensured that Shiozaki's vines were preoccupied thus guaranteeing Ruby's escape.

Ruby accomplished this by arching through the air in her Quirk before she burst out and Weiss created a slanted glyph to stop Ruby before she fell too far. The moment Ruby reached the glyph she grabbed the top edge and then slid down to land on a second glyph that she crouched on and Weiss mentally brought it back to them as Ruby tied the headband around her neck while being returned to her team. She'd done it, at least in terms of grabbing a second headband to secure their team's advancement.

"You two work really well together." Ojiro noted a little ashamed he couldn't do more as Ruby settled back into her riding position a smile on her face at what she'd just done. "You know that, right?"

"Well we are besties and future Huntresses so it's only natural that we work well together." Ruby said as Weiss rolled her eyes but smiled at that as she created a series of glyphs that overlapped and formed a box around them to protect them from any last minute attacks. "And now we're safe."

"We've got over 1000 points thanks to that so we should be good." Weiss said. "And there was some action as you were busy, Monoma lost all his points to a mix of Bakugo and Asta's teams, the latter being the Mimosa's doing and she's in Monoma's class which is interesting. Now Bakugo is going after Midoriya again while Team Asta is using both Noelle's and Mimosa's Quirks to hole up and protect their points. We're doing the same and we only have 1 minute left so we got this."

"Alright let's sit back and advance." Ruby said excitedly glad that her team's plan had worked. "See, I told you guys we'd advance."

The others just nodded at that. Both Ojiro and Aoyama had to give it to the girls, they'd really carried the team in this round and had ensured that they would advance while the boys really had nothing they could do. They owned the future Huntresses for this but regardless they were glad to be in a position to advance to the final stage of the Sports Festival as the clock counted down and there was one climactic moment left in the second event.

"That's our cue." Yuno said to his team as the ice wall that separated Teams Midoriya and Todoroki from the rest of the Cavalry Battle went up. "Get ready, this is only a theory of mine but I should be able to do it. Pine, be prepared to create a barrier if need be."

"On it." Oscar said from the back as Yuno looked up to fix his point high above the battlefield and over the confrontation going on on the other side of the ice. "I'm ready when you are."

Yuno didn't say anything as he focused on what he had to do. This was going to be hard but he knew that he could do it because if he wanted to be the Wizard King then Yuno would have to be able to pull off stuff like this and then some on a regular basis. This was all part of their plan and it was now time for Yuno to act.

Their plan was simple, let the over enthusiastic morons charge and fight while backing up to an edge and await the opening with Pine ready to use his Quirk to shield them in a ball of his personal energy. It was basically the same plan as Team Rose had had but it was different in the sense that there was only one target on Yuno's mind, the 10 million point headband.

He'd come second to Midoriya in the Obstacle Race by less than 5 seconds in no small part thanks to that toss back from Bakugo, he had no intention of coming second again. That said, he needed to be smart about it because everyone was going to be after that headband. That was why he they needed this plan to carry it out but Yuno had to admit that he had just the right team to manage it.

It was clear that the likes of Todoroki, Bakugo, and Tetsutetsu would want that headband, along with plenty of others they were just the most vocal trio going after it, and Yuno had watched carefully in the Obstacle Race, the first two were the real deals. They were talented and had strong grasps of their Quirks and tactics, that was why Bakugo had tossed him back when Midoriya passed them, it was the right move to hinder Yuno and that act alone had ensured that Midoriya won though Yuno had a feeling he shouldn't tell Bakugo that.

As such, all Yuno had to do now was wait for one of them to isolate Midoriya and have a good shot at his headband. That moment came when the ice pinned Midoriya's team in with Todoroki's while also stopping several of the other teams in their tracks. It was a good plan but Yuno had one of his own to get them in position and he focused on the special transport star and created it between his hands behind him as he was at the point position.

This star was different, one he'd spent the last two weeks working on for certain situations that would allow him to transport groups of people or debris away rather than the small ones he used for himself. To do so, Yuno had used his Quirk to develop a larger, multipoint, star that would transport all that it touched to a corresponding star within his range though the corresponding star had to be the same type of star which was also brighter than his normal stars so he had to use it when no one would notice.

That was more important because Yuno had to make the destination star first but he did so and now he had to make the new one. It was why he was on point and the moment he did he made it such that the points touched his hands, the hands of Leo and Pine, and Shinso's ankles at the same time.

The moment the points touched them, their team vanished and appeared in the air high above the battlefield and over the isolated battle just as Todoroki's team burst forward on a boost from Ida's engine and shot past Midoriya's team to grab the headband. That was just the right moment as Yuno created a field of stars below them and connected them to form a constellation shield that they landed on with a slightly jarring thud but the shield held so at least Yuno's theory that he could use his constellation shields as group platforms was proven correct.

With a platform to stand on and look down on the battle bellow their team was able to watch as Todoroki's team came to a halt, smoke coming from the engines in Ida's calves, and he put the stolen 10 million headband around his neck. As he did, Todoroki made sure to shuffle up the three headbands around his neck so that the 10 million point one wasn't on top.

"You watching Shinso." Yuno said quietly as Midoriya's team recovered and the commentary really picked up at the sudden change in event leaders but Yuno ignored it though he was grateful that the commentators didn't seem to notice the team currently standing on a constellation of stars in midair. "You're only going to get one shot at this so you'd better make sure you grab the 10 million point headband the moment you can because I'm going to bring you back within 10 seconds of arriving. I can't give you more time than that."

"Yeah I'm watching, he's shuffled them but I can tell which is which so 10 seconds is plenty of time." Shinso said a little amazed that this plan had worked. "Gotta admit, your stars are damned useful."

"Thanks, this idea came from seeing that Schnee girl use her Quirk in the last event." Yuno said as Midoriya seemed to make some determination up in his mind and turned to face the still immobilized Team Todoroki clearly ready for a charge so that would be the opening that Yuno took. "Now watch and be ready to act because that headband is ours."

The others nodded, Oscar and Leo just going with it at the moment as they were trying to process how Yuno's Quirk worked other than that it was both strong and versatile, as the whole team looked down at the impending second clash between the teams below them. As they did they Team Midoriya charged at a clearly immobilized Team Todoroki, though why that team was immobilized none of them knew as they didn't know that it was due to Ida's Quirk, and Todoroki got his left arm up to block it. As he did fire burst to life on it but Midoriya's right arm glowed with power as well and Yuno saw that as his cue.

"Now." Yuno said as he created a small constellation shield to Todoroki's left hand side just as Midoriya swiped his arm through the air and used his raw power to shift the air and trust Todoroki's arm away while extinguishing the flames on it at the same time before grabbing the top headband as his time passed on Todoroki's right. "Go!"

As soon as Midoriya had grabbed the headband, Yuno made a simple set of transport stars and Shinso leaned forward to make contact with the one in front of him. They'd practiced this while preparing and knew that it would work, Yuno's stars could be used by anyone it seemed which he'd have to figure out a way to prevent later, and almost instantly Shinso was transported to the smaller shield in the air next to Todoroki who was still processing Midoriya's attack and hadn't even noticed that the one on his head was gone as well so he had no way of seeing Shinso appear to his side on Yuno's stars.

"I'll be taking this, thanks." Shinso said simply as he grabbed the 10 million point headband, he could see which it was from where he was though he knew already thanks to paying attention to the shuffle earlier, and tore it off Todoroki's neck. "Looks like Class B's winning this event."

"What…" Todoroki began turning his head to the side to look at Shinso but for good measure Shinso brainwashed him before another transport star appeared right before his free hand and he grabbed it to be taken back to the team.

"Todoroki, what's going on?" Ida asked as Midoriya realized that he had the wrong score and that time was winding down so they had to act quick if they wanted to advance though if he could see the scoreboard Midoriya wouldn't need to but he couldn't. "Watch yourself, that was too close for comfort."

"Thankfully we switched it up, they underestimated us." Momo added as 10 seconds remained and Yuno's team just stood in the air with Shinso now securely back in the saddle so to speak though catching him from the transport star had wobbled them a bit, not that anyone noticed. "Um Todoroki?"

"He's not responding." Kaminari said as Tokoyami launched Dark Shadow at them and Bakugo blasted over the ice to suddenly join what they all believed to be the final clash for the 10 million point headband. "What should we do?"

"Defend." Momo yelled as she moved the insulation blanket up to cover them just as Kaminari discharged which blocked Dark Shadow who wailed at the light that Kaminari's Quirk generation, the hit of blanket on Todoroki snapped him out of Shinso's brainwashing. "We must protect our points."

"What's going on?" Todoroki yelled he was completely out of it after the fire and Midoriya's attack followed by a sudden, brief, loss of memory that he was really confused about as one moment he'd had his arm thrust to the side by Midoriya, the next he was in the middle of a soon to be hectic three way battle. "Did they get the points?"

"No but we still need to protect them so here use this." Momo said as she thrust up a metal pole and Todoroki did so, coating it in ice as Midoriya closed in for a second run and Bakugo roared and charged at Todoroki having realized from the situation that Todoroki had the 10 million points. "We just need to hold out for a few more seconds and we've won this event."

This was fun to watch but Yuno wanted to be secure so as Shinso put the headband around his neck, no one seemed to notice that Todoroki only had one not two left around his neck, he created another set of special transport stars, he needed a new name for them as they were more than his normal transport stars, and they vanished away from their vantage point and to a safe, and deserted, spot on the other side of the battlefield. Just as they reappeared at their new location the announcement came.

"Times up!" Present Mic roared and the crowd cheered and Bakugo fell from the air and face planted into the ground the sudden end shocking him enough that he stopped using his Quirk while Midoriya felt the frustration, none of them realizing yet the full extent of what had actually happened in the final moments of the Cavalry Battle. "The second round of the first year's U.A. Sports Festival is over!"

"Well, we did it." Shinso said as he hopped off his holders and they broke apart while elsewhere others were doing the same, defensive Quirks being used like Schnee's, Mimosa's and Silva's were being ended and either returned to a support item in Silva's case or destroyed in the other cases, and riders were getting off still oblivious to what had happened. "Let's hear the reactions when they realize what just happened."

"Alright it's time to see who our top 8 are and…wait, what!" Present Mic said as the entire stadium gasped and looked to the boards to see the score and who actually held the 10 million point headband. "I don't believe it, we all thought that it was going to be Team Todoroki after that clash with Midoriya and thanks to the excitement at the end we were so focused on that fight that we didn't see it because the team with the 10 million point headband is neither. The winners of the Cavalry Battle are Team Shinso! What one earth happened?"

"An extremely well thought out tactic from that team that employed two of their Quirks in conjunction with each other to seize victory from the other teams." Aizawa said revealing that he'd noticed what had happened but had not said anything. "They had the right combination to work as Yuno used his stars to get them up and above the clash and then transported Shinso to the center of the confrontation right after Midoriya failed to grab the right headband and transported him back with the 10 million one in seconds. No one noticed because it was so quick and precise, well Todoroki might have but he fell afoul of Shinso's Quirk. There's a reason why I recommended that kid, I don't waste my time on useless cases."

"Ah yes your new recommendation program, this is the first year of it and we are already seeing promising results from it." Oobleck said as everyone was trying to process what had happened and Todoroki's team were in utter disbelief though Asta just smirked at Yuno's team from where he was, trust Yuno to come up with something insane, he really had to step his game up if he wanted to stay with his rival after Yuno pulled off a stunt like that. "And with the precision of Yuno's stars they got what they needed via a clever bit of subterfuge and surgical precision that comes from expert Quirk control. Add in the ending with Bakugo and the clash, no one realized that the 10 million was long gone by then."

"It was a truly impressive thing to see." Port said. "Just what you like to see from Hero Course students no matter the branch. In fact, Team Shinso had students interest in all three branches so it was truly a great sign of teamwork there."

"So cool!" Julius said clearly really into what had happened. "They showed off some really impressive skills with their Quirks there and sometimes it's the subtlest of Quirks that manage it."

"Well there you have it, that's how the shock of the games happened and just like the surprise right at the end of the last round it seems that Yuno was at the center of it, our student pledge representative is really living up to what he said." Present Mic said. "And joining him in the final round are the other teams who made the cutoff rank. Let's see, rounding out the top three is Team Asta in second followed by Team Rose in third. Woah didn't see any of that coming either. Where were they the entire time?"

"Wise tactics at work again." Aizawa said in a slightly bored tone. "Both teams started in the top 8 but rather than get distracted by the 10 million headband they held back or evaded combat and then struck when the openings presented themselves to get some insurance points. Team Asta were able to remain in the same spot they started with that while Team Rose went from 6th at the start to 3rd in the end thanks to their plan. In an event like this that's the smart thing to do if you want to ensure advancement."

"Correct, especially for Team Asta who as you pointed out started in second place so they could have been an early target if not for the scramble to try and get Midoriya's points." Oobleck said as Asta smirked with the girls around him who had a mixture of smug in Noelle's case, pleased in Mimosa's, and neutral in Nero's, looks on their faces as they'd come second and hadn't even needed to go for the big score even if Yuno had pulled off that move that outshone everyone else. "That said, it was a surprise to see that they'd secured two more headbands during the event without any real fanfare. Someone on that team has tactics."

"Very true, the tactician of Team Asta should be praised for his, or more likely her, work." Port said as Mineta glared at Asta with pure envy in his eyes for having such a team, to be carried by three hot girls was a dream to him and the ladies man of their class, Asta, had already managed. "Same for Team Rose as they were able to boost their standing there. That team had some solid planning in the Cavalry Battle and they almost got more points but Tetsutetsu was ready. That's a replay many will watch as it went almost unnoticed by everyone, even us."

"I know I will because I missed so many good Quirks in play." Julius said. "I've got to check out those two teams to see how they did it."

"That we did but the replays will show it." Present Mic said. "But back to the standings. Despite the failure at the end to secure the 10 million point headband, Team Bakugo did manage to come in 4th and secured a top half placement. Meanwhile 5th and at the start of the lower half of the standings it was Team Midoriya."

"Wait what?" Izuku said blinking as he looked up to see that they had 790 points that really confused him. "But we only…"

"There was a headband around his head as well." Tokoyami said as Dark Shadow rose with Todoroki's headband in his mouth. "I used the distraction you caused to have Dark Shadow grab it while he wasn't looking. It was all thanks to you creating the opening Midoriya and thanks to that surprise ending we managed to beat Todoroki's team."

"Guys…" Izuku said before he burst into tears that were startlingly heavy while they celebrated and Ochaco petted Dark Shadow as he'd really saved them in the end.

"Wait we didn't even keep out own?" Todoroki asked feeling his head and noticing that it wasn't there so he only had one headband. "What happened? I'm so confused by the ending of the Cavalry Battle and I still don't get how I lost the 10 million point headband."

"We had it all and then lost it in the blink of an eye." Momo said upset at that and her confidence shaken given how fast they'd lost as her voice got weak. "I, I can't explain this."

"Even trying to keep up with you Midoriya, I can't manage it." Ida said as Kaminari continued to be an idiot as he'd overused his Quirk at the end so he wasn't going to add anything or realize what happened until he returned to normal. "I'll get better though, I swear it."

"Back to the last three teams to make it to the next and final round." Present Mic said. "They were the only other teams to have points left with Team Tetsutetsu in 6th, Team Kendo in 7th, and bringing up the rear Team Todoroki in 8th despite that big boost briefly."

"Last." Momo said her eyes wide at that as she'd never come last in anything before and it shook her badly though she was only last in advancing as the other teams had no points. "We went from first to last? I, I, I don't know how that happened."

"I'm sorry." Todoroki said to the others as he looked over to Midoriya knowing that the time for their confrontation was coming now that they'd both advanced to the next round. "That was my fault that we didn't win it."

"No, we all failed because we didn't factor in a third team coming out of nowhere to take the points when we should have." Ida said. "It's on all of us to improve from this so don't be too hard on yourself Todoroki."

"Alright that is it for the second round, we have our 32 students who have advanced to the final round of the first year's Sports Festival, so let's take an hour long lunch break before we kick off the afternoon festivities shall we?" Present Mic said causing people to begin to head to the exits to enjoy the break and the students began to go to the cafeteria so this was the perfect moment for Todoroki to make his move and did so as he had to confront Midoriya about what he suspected and tell him why, regardless of Midoriya's answer, he had to beat him. "Hey guys, let's grab some food. All that action's made me hungry."

"I'm going to take a nap." Aizawa said. "Leave me alone for the next hour."

"I could grab a bite and I'm out of coffee so I need a refill." Oobleck said. "The afternoon will be entertaining for sure and I want to be fully ready and pepped up for what is to come."

"Agreed, the event to come is sure to be interesting no matter what the rules are." Port said. "Though I do wish that the three Huntsmen Track students could use their weapons as that would be entertaining."

"I'm just glad the Quirk Knight kids made it; they were so cool in both rounds so I want to see more of them." Julius said. "And let's find a private place to eat, I think Marx has figured out where I am now."

"Hard not to miss it, you've been on TV for the past few hours and the U.A. Sports Festival is watched by millions across the world so he has to know where you are Julius." Aizawa said. "Now leave, the lot of you. I need to sleep."

With that the second event of the U.A. Sports Festival for the first years ended in a climactic and shocking conclusion that no one had seen coming until it was over. As the kids left to get food and discuss what had happened some had other plans in mind be it confrontation, slipping away now that she was out of the competition to send her data to Roman, or in the case of two perverted boys a little trickery for their own amusement the moment they saw what U.A. had brought in for the break. It had certainly been an eventful morning and the afternoon was only going to get more so.

"Few that was entertaining even if Rubes didn't do much in the second round." Yang said as the stadium began to move around them as people left for food and to enjoy the lunch break. "She still got some more points to add to what she started with and finished in third for the teams so not too bad."

"She went for a subtler strategy, she's learning how to best act in a situation which is what she's supposed to learn at U.A." Blake said with a smile as their class got up around them, including Hado, Amajiki, Magna, Luck, and Charmy though they all commented on how good Yang's sister was looking while noting that she was nothing like Yang at all. "She didn't rush into it without a plan where she could make a mistake. Instead she waited and got more points to secure her spot in the next round. I think she wanted more but she wisely fled rather than risk it."

"It was a lot smarter than I'd pull but I think Schnee helped in the planning, that girl strikes me as almost too smart for her own good at times but she's a good influence on Ruby it seems, plus Ruby really likes her, so I'll let it slide, for now at least." Yang said. "And that team was well formed. Rubes is really becoming a leader, I'm so proud of her."

"She's grown a lot already this year." Blake said. "And now she's in the final tournament. She'll do fine in that."

"I know it so let's get some food kitten." Yang said standing and causing Blake to sigh at the cat reference as it would no doubt start an ordeal of cat related puns. "There's bound to be tuna around for you."

"Of course there is, this is Japan they do the best fish and I can already smell where the best stash is." Blake said as they left her cat ears twitching in anticipation of the tuna, her heighted senses which came from her mother really helping her find the best tuna to get for lunch. "But no jokes or cat puns."

"No promises, kitty." Yang said with and evil smirk that Blake didn't like as they left. "But let's be quick, I want to be back in time to see the draw."

Blake just sighed before she chuckled and smiled at Yang's antics as the girls left their class's box and went to grab something to eat for the break before they got to see how the solo tournament at the end played out and what the rules for it were. It had been a good morning with Ruby doing really well in both rounds. All that was left was the tournament and they knew she'd do well in that as well. It was time to enjoy the break before the final part of the Sports Festival for the first years began.

Another long, exciting, and action packed Sports Festival chapter but as I wanted to cover the whole Cavalry Battle in one chapter it all went into this while focusing on the crossover teams as they did their things and pulled off some impressive results in the end. Yuno's been true to his word so far what with that sudden ending but they all advanced which is good and with 32 in the battles they're going to be long and interesting when the bracket comes out next chapter and I've already determined how that will go so y'all just have to look forward to it. That is coming but first up is the break for lunch and I'm sure y'all know what that means so plenty of fun to see in the next chapter as the Sports Festival arc continues.
