Here is the thirty-sixth chapter in this story released in accordance with my release schedule for this story. Class 1-A isn't the only Hero Course class at U.A., Class 1-B is as well and they too have offers so it's time to check in on them and see what their offers are and what names they will be going by as they too prepare for their internships. That is all that I have for the administrative stuff I have for y'all and while there are no questions to answer here there are three guest reviews that need a response and a notice to give regarding the recent issues with this site, so I will do that now. Do keep them coming as your support is the best motivation for me to keep producing chapters at this kind of rate.

To KGBeastboy (guest), thank you for your review and suggestions as always and I will address them now. For the first one, that isn't a bad idea, they do have the age though I don't intend to have Nicholas in this series as he's not in RWBY beyond his name, likely he'll be dead but Gran Torino knowing him can still work. Whether or not he knew about One for All I don't know yet though evading All for One could work. As for Mereoleona, I am not sure if that's the best place for her to be. She's a fair bit OP and I will be keeping her power levels in this so she'd just trounce the Vanguard Action Squad if she was there which would diminish the purpose of the arc. Friends with them can work given her habit of living in the wilderness but actually present for that arc likely not. Still the friendship could play into her aiding in Kamino to get Ragdoll back, I'll think about it but I still haven't decided how I want to introduce her just yet. Do keep reading and enjoying my work.

To Guest (guest), as always thank you for your review and that was just the first of two buildups for the internships because there will be others there and this chapter was suggested as an idea which I liked as Class 1-B needs more love so I'm giving it to them. Those three are glad they live on campus; Nero may be able to avoid a lot of attention but Asta and Yuno won't be able to after their showings. Yup, those are the deeper jokes for the VAs and for the most part they continue here with a few exceptions due to suggestions/offers making some sense. The names work for sure and while Ice Queen is a classic, it was a mix of suggestions that helped with Grimm Reaper for Ruby and better than the one I originally had. The Wizard King is in Hosu and the tease for how the others may end up there has already been given so it's all going to build to it. Do keep reading and enjoying my work.

To AutoHunterJ49 (guest), that is an interesting observation and a pure coincidence that that's how the three final bosses of these series work. While I've not revealed what Lucius and Salem's end goals are in this series or how I've adapted them, the Dark Triumvirate is just an alliance to end the current system before they can turn on each other. Do keep reading and enjoying my work.

Notice: As of the time of publishing, the website is dealing with issues in terms of email notifications not going out for anything. Hopefully this will be fixed soon but as a way around this and to keep abreast of this and any other stories you follow I highly recommend downloading the fanfiction app, logging in there, and then downloading this and all the other stories you like and follow as notifications on the app from followed stories and authors are still coming through. This is the same for authors for non-guest reviews that have been left, follows and favorites, and sometimes PMs via the app which are separate to PMs on the website. This is the best way around the current issues on the website so if you haven't done this I highly recommend it until this issue is resolved and for any future issues.

That is it for this long pre-chapter note so it is time to sit back and enjoy the thirty-sixth chapter in Black RWBY Academia.

Disclaimer: I own nothing related to these three great franchises.

Chapter 36: Simultaneously, in Class 1-B

"Damn Class A!" Tetsutetsu roared as Yuno walked into the classroom running a little late as Asta was taking his time leaving their special housing and their walk to school was one of the few times they got to chat. "They're hogging all the limelight again! Do you know what I had to deal with on the way to school?"

"Let me guess, people were miming what Asta did to you or talking about how you got KO'd in one hit." Kendo said with a sigh, she didn't so much care for the rivalry between their classes though she did look out for her class so she was trying to calm Tetsutetsu down a bit. "Sound about right?"

"Gah it was infuriating!" Tetsutetsu said still pissed about it as Yuno made his way to his seat noting that Leo and Mimosa were already there. "I was one shotted, you don't have to remind me about it. Plus a few reminded me of how I almost lost both headbands to Rose, they showed no mercy despite the fact that I made it to the third event."

"You did lose to the runner up at least." Honenuki said as Tetsutetsu finally took his seat. "I got the misfortune of losing to someone who's Quirk was superior to mine when they interact with each other and then she lost the next round so it wasn't like I was beat by someone who made a deep run."

"True and man was that a manly hit, can't lie about that." Tetsutetsu said calming down a bit as he looked over to Yuno. "Your brother's got some serious strength Yuno."

"Asta's always been like that, I knew that he'd do well." Yuno said simply as he reached his desk and put his bag on it. "I was the one who failed in not reaching the final so that I could face him. Right now he's beating me so I've got to train harder to catch up to him."

"That's our Yuno for you." Tokage said with a grin as Yuno took his seat. "Even making it to the semis when our second best was the last 16 where Shinso somehow had his hold broken without physical contact or releasing it and Mimosa got felt up by Asta, he's still not satisfied with it. Real inspiring stuff."

"Yeah man, you were our hero there." Tsuburaba said clapping Yuno on the back having been in that part of the room chatting when Yuno walked in despite his seat being in the 3rd column. "When we lost so many so quick in the first round of the third event it was so frustrating but you and Shinso beat Class A members and you beat 3 without moving! Everyone was asking about you on the way here. The calm hunk who is literally surrounded by starts and who effortlessly made it to the semis with stellar showings in the other rounds. Really showed we can hang with Class 1-A."

"It would have been more." Oscar pointed out. "Shinso shouldn't have lost either. He had Midoriya dead to rights in that match."

"Yeah I still don't know what happened." Shinso said truthfully clearly annoyed by it. "I've never had anyone break my hold without contact like that. It's infuriating but at the same time I really want a rematch. Midoriya's good, no question. Even with what he did to himself in the next round, his raw power is no joke."

"It's like Noelle's in a way." Mimosa said. "The power is there he just needs the control. Once he gets that he's going to be one of the strongest in the year, same with Noelle."

"Which only adds to why I want a rematch." Shinso said. "I lost to one of the best, I know what I'm chasing now and won't lose again."

"Yeah same for me and Asta." Tetsutetsu said grinning. "I'll beat him next time."

"I doubt it." Yuno said causing Tetsutetsu to splutter. "Few can beat Asta and Bakugo had to break out all the tricks to do so and even he passed out right after. That's the level it takes to best Asta. Bakugo's proven it and after winning the Sports Festival he's the one who we're all aiming for now. I swear I won't lose to him again."

"We know you won't." Tokage said. "You're the shining star of the class after the Sports Festival."

"Was that deliberate?" Yuno asked as a few groaned at Tokage's pun but she didn't answer just grinned and chuckled which was answer enough so Yuno just moved one. "And am I really that notable now? I don't really pay attention to what's going on outside school and I don't have social media."

"You are Yuno." Mimosa said. "The U.A. Sports Festival is huge, global, event so we're all getting some attention, especially those who made it to the battles at the end, but you stood on the podium so you're at the pinnacle of the year. Plus you really stood out as you made it to the semifinals which only adds to it. It's all most can talk about, the four medalists and how they did though I for one don't like all the girls talking about Asta and how hunky he is and asking if he's single It makes me uncomfortable."

"He did grope you dear cousin and you didn't exactly slap him for it, which by the way you should have." Leo pointed out. "So they're going to ask if he's single after that. Despite that incident, he's showing that he could be a great rival for me along with Yuno."

"Like the others you can't compete with Asta." Yuno said. "Plus you can't beat a girl who follows Asta around and didn't even hit you, you've got a long way to go Leo."

"And it was an accident what Asta did so I can't be mad at him for that, why are so many girls asking me about that." Mimosa complained as she flushed red because she really hadn't minded it at all. "And in jealous tones as well."

"At least you get that." Leo grumbled. "Yuno hit the nail on the head, all I'm getting is how I was bested because Noelle kicked me in the balls after she couldn't hit me with her water. It was humiliating to lose like that and to a Silva no less. I've let the whole family down."

"It was a fair strategy for her so don't be too upset about it." Mimosa said trying to reassure Leo that it wasn't that bad. "And you can't deny that her control is better."

"It is and if she ever get her attacks sorted she'll be truly scary." Leo said. "Still, that really hurt and more than the wound to my pride that losing to a Silva who was exiled to U.A. does."

"Our whole Class's pride was wounded." Tetsutetsu said clenching his fist. "We can't let this stand!"

"And we won't but we did learn a lot." Monoma said getting all their attention as they realized that despite their class's general poor performance other than Yuno he'd not said a word yet. "I watched them closely so that next time we'll show them who's better. They may have won this round but they didn't sweep the podium thanks to Yuno and this is but the first stumble. Next time we get the chance we'll show Class 1-A up."

"I expect as much."

The voice that answered was their homeroom teacher, Vlad King, as he opened the door and walked in while speaking. As he did everyone was in their seats and patiently waiting for homeroom to begin.

"Yes sir." The class said in unison.

"Good, the Sports Festival was a bit of a letdown for us, I won't sugarcoat that, and it really put Class 1-A in the spotlight this semester but that just means that next time it will be our turn in it." Vlad said as he reached the lectern and looked at the class. "Use this result to get stronger, let the shame of Class A outshining us fuel you to beat them. Your strategy was good for the most part but you didn't factor in their competitive drive, something they've gotten since the USJ incident. Don't forget that. Still, congratulations to Yuno on making the podium, you showed what this class can do and that we're not going to go down without a fight."

"Thank you sir." Yuno said a little taken aback by the praise.

"Good, now that that is out of the way we have a busy class today so we need to focus on that." Vlad said moving along but his class had already taking his words to heart and would work harder so that they weren't outshined by Class 1-A again. "As you know, the pro hero draft happens every year for second and third year students and all three branches make offers regardless of your declared status or not. After the Sports Festival and the performance your year showed, however, first years are getting attention so we've allowed it for you lot as well."

"Wait really?" Tetsutetsu asked excitedly. "So we have offers?"

"You do and as such you will be doing a week long internship with a hero agency next week." Vlad said with a nod. "So unless you're set on interning with a Quirk Knight Squad, which three of you are given your declarations at enrollment, you'll need code names which is what this class is all about."

That instantly got a round of cheers and excited chatter from the class. Codenames were something many of them were looking forward to as it was their hero identity, who they wanted to be, and what they'd be branding when they made it as pros. A name let the citizens know that they were safe and tell the villains that they were coming for them. It also showed them that they were one step closer to the hero world. Still it did beg one question and Kendo, as the class rep, raised her hand to ask it.

"Sir." Kendo said as Vlad nodded at her. "Why don't the Quirk Knight students chose names?"

"Because that branch doesn't use them, rather those who enter that branch use their first names instead." Vlad said simply. "Leo, Mimosa, care to explain? You two are from one of the big three families that helped found the branch and still dominate and shape it to this day even if one of the families is more administrative than the other two."

"It's history, plain and simple." Leo said as he recited one of the many lessons his brother drilled into him. "The Quirk Knights are the oldest branch having existed long before the first Hero Code was created in Providence, Rhode Island, and even a good few decades before the Huntsman branch when the 4th Wizard King worked with the four founding members of the Huntsman Agencies to set it up."

Leo paused for a moment to take a breath and glanced at Mimosa to see if she wanted to add anything. When she didn't he continued with his explanation.

"Back then there were no such things as heroes or villains, just criminals and those who were noble and strong enough to bring them to justice and maintain peace in the nation." Leo explained. "As such, when the Hero Code came into effect following the rise of vigilantism that had cropped up in response to the lack of manpower in the two branches at the time, the honor of the Quirk Knights played key role in shaping it. Despite this, they remained separate with their own traditions and ways of doing things while remaining under the same umbrella as the other branches as the nature of heroes and the popularity they achieved was in contrast to the selfless nature of the Quirk Knights."

"That and class status played a role." Mimosa said. "Until a few decades ago the Quirk Knights exclusively came from the upper class and was seen as a duty rather than a way to earn a living the way it can be for heroes. That has since changed and isn't relevant anymore even if a few Squads are still selective based on class or gender but the core nature of it remains. Part of that nature is that a Quirk Knight does not have a hero name but rather uses his or her first name though that aspect was also due to the limited number of families that were Quirk Knights back in the day."

"However, names can be earned." Leo noted. "Both my brother and sister have earned nicknames they earned as established Quirk Knights but they didn't pick them. It's tradition not to."

"Correct." Vlad said with a nod. "Huntsmen too didn't take names until recently but they do now due to a growing level of popularity for those in that branch. That means that all but Yuno, Leo and Mimosa will need names though many of you have Quirk Knight offers."

"We do?" Kamakiri asked. "But the rest of us didn't express an interest in that branch."

"Yes, many of you have offers from at least two branches, including three of you getting Huntsman offers despite not declaring that branch which given the technical specifications of that branch is really rare for it." Vlad said. "In fact Kodai, Yuno, and yourself have offers from all three, a distinction only Asta in Class 1-A got."

"So we can get offers from the other branches then." Honenuki said as Kamakiri blinked at that, he'd certainly not expected offers from all three branches. "I thought so. Is it common to take them at this stage if you don't have an interest in a nontraditional track?"

"For internships, no." Vlad admitted. "Most stick to their initial desires to get the taste. Those who have bad internships, and sometimes that does happen so choose wisely, do tend to do work studies in the other branches that have expressed interest once they have their provisional license to see what they're like and whether or not they want to switch branches but you don't have to worry about that until next semester I feel."

"I see, thank you." Honenuki said. "I will keep an open mind about this."

"A fair question and good to keep your thinking flexible." Vlad said as he pressed a button and the board lit up with names and sideways bars that ended in a number starting with a massive one for Yuno that dwarfed all the other ones put together. "Now here are your offers. As you can see, due to Yuno's shinning performance in the Sports Festival and the way Class 1-A stood out there is a bit of a discrepancy compared to previous years where it has been more evenly spread out. Still, Yuno's haul is second only to Todoroki's so it is impressive."

That was an understatement as Yuno had 4,055 offers which towered over Mimosa's 521 offers in second. After her it dropped to 499 for Leo, 286 for Shinso, 167 for Shiozaki, 69 for Tetsutetsu, 35 for Honenuki, 22 for Tokage, 5 for Kendo, 4 each for Kodai and Kamakiri, and 1 each for Shoda and Tsunotori at the very bottom.

"No surprise that Yuno's topped the list." Tokage said. "And Mimosa and Leo being next makes sense given their family names."

"Yeah that's what we expected." Leo said. "So long as I have the offer I know that I should have I don't mind that others made me an offer for the family name. I am hoping to join my family's Squad after all."

"I'm flattered but I'd rather go to a place that wants me for me." Mimosa said. "And not my family name. That's why I've made it clear that I'm not joining my family's Squad."

"Not a bad haul for Shinso either." Kamakiri noted. "Well done with that. You really showed what you can do in the Sports Festival and it's paid off."

"It is good to see that I am wanted." Shinso said a small smile on his face as he was always worried about how his Quirk would be seen. "It shows that my Quirk is one that a hero can use. I'll have to choose my internship carefully."

"It's an interesting spread." Kendo said looking over it. "And I take it we get to choose from these offers?"

"Those with them do unless you have less than 10 and aren't committed to one of the other branches then you can choose from the pre-approved list of 40 agencies that have agreed to take U.A. first years as interns." Vlad said. "This list applies to those without offers as well so all of you will get to intern. Bear this in mind though, this is an investment in your potential and even after accepting you still have to prove yourself to the hero who's brought you on board as an offer can be rescinded at any time."

"Only fair." Honenuki said. "We can't coast on our laurels after this. We won't be able to in the field after all. We need to stay sharp and in shape for whatever comes."

"Very true so pick wisely and remember to keep up the good work." Vlad said. "And now it's time for the names and to aid in this I've asked…"

"Yo, yo, it's time for some hero names ya dig!"

The voice was one they all knew well as the door slid open and Present Mic walked in his usual enthusiastic self as he grinned at the class while Vlad handed out handheld whiteboards and markers for them to use. It looked like Present Mic would be assisting in this which given his ability to hype people up and love of commentary made sense.

"I'm going to have final approval of your names cos I know what sells; I was the mastermind behind Eraser Head after all." Present Mic said as he grinned at them though that wasn't actually the best name sell. "So remember, choose a name that suits your personality and brand, this is who you will be and you may be stuck with it ya dig."

"Take a few minutes and then when someone is ready to share come on up and do so." Vlad said as the students began to write their names and thinking about them. "I've got to sort out your paperwork so I'll leave this in Mic's capable hands."

The class did just that as they spent a little time thinking out their names, writing them down then rubbing them out and writing something new or rewriting what they'd just written as they generally tried to decide on their names. Finally though Kendo stood up and walked to the lectern without any fanfare or announcement, though it did get Present Mic's attention as he stood near it.

"And we have our first participant." Present Mic said excitedly. "Alright Kendo, what name have you decided on? Tell the audience!"

"As Class Rep I feel that its my duty to go first and I hope that you like it." Kendo said as she flipped over her whiteboard. "Battle Fist. That will be my hero name."

"Simple and yet blunt while playing to your Quirk and combat skills." Present Mic said with a nod. "A good name for you, I approve."

"Thank you." Kendo said as the class breathed out a sigh of relief, an accepted name was going to ease their nerves and that continued with the next one as Tetsutetsu quickly stood while Kendo made her way back to her desk and walked up to the lectern.

"And next up it's Tetsutetsu." Present Mic said. "What do you have for us?"

"Real Steel!" Tetsutetsu said loudly as he flipped over the whiteboard and grinned. "Because that's what I am. I'm Real Steel!"

"Blunt and to the point, perfect for a hero like you." Present Mic said. "It's approved. Next. Come on class, let's get keep the rhythm flowing and see who's up."

Tetsutetsu grinned more as he took his seat while Shiozaki stood up and headed to the lectern in her normal measured way. The class was starting to really feel it now that the first two had been approved but that was about to change as Shiozaki flipped her board over.

"Maria." Shiozaki said simply without any other explanation as if it was obvious, which to her it was.

"Come again?" Present Mic asked blinking and even the class were a little surprised by that. "Why? What relation does it have to your power or the kind of hero that you want to be?"

"Everything." Shiozaki said. "It is Latin for the Virgin Mary, the mother of our Lord and Savior and as I intend to save many sinners from their sinful ways and redeem them in the eyes of the Lord it is fitting for me."

"So it's a Christian thing." Present Mic said. "Yeah I'm going to veto that one."

"Come again?" Shiozaki asked her eyes wide. "You would disrespect my faith? Is Japan not open to other religions?"

"No, it's just a bad name that's all as it doesn't show who you are." Mic said. "And it's too confusing for people to understand as less than 2% of Japan are Christians so they wouldn't get it. Plus there can't be many who know Latin."

"Would you rather I use an assassin's name? You did call me one in the Sports Festival." Shiozaki asked her eyes narrowing a bit. "I am here to bring the light of the Lord to sinners and cleanse evil from the world. I will not engage in dishonesty or deception unless it is absolutely necessary and even when I did we were rightfully punished for it."

"No what I'm saying is that you need a name that better represents what you can do so they know who's around when you show up." Mic said raising his hands in front of him once again getting flustered by Shiozaki. "Er, just think on something better."

"Ibara, it's just your hero name." Kendo said her tone gentle. "Your outfit already shows your purity and goals and I'm sure you can use biblical references for other things but if you want your message to be put across first people have to be able to figure out who you are when they hear your hero name. Maria is just a bit too out there to really associate with someone. People need something distinctive that they can remember, that's all."

"Ah I see, when you put it like that Itsuka it makes sense." Shiozaki said bowing a bit to Present Mic. "I am sorry for my objections; I will rethink a better name so that the sinners know who I am and that they know that when they hear it that salvation is coming for them."

"Er, ok." Present Mic said looking to the class. "Who's next?"

"May as well, it's a simple name but fitting while not being too on the nose thus preserving some secrets as to what I can do." Honenuki said as he got up and walked to the lectern before revealing his name to the class. "Mudman."

"Ok why?" Present Mic said.

"I soften all inorganic materials that I touch so they become like mud." Honenuki said simply. "And if it's the ground people will sink into it similar to how you can sink into mud, though quicksand is more accurate, and then I capture them by ending my Quirk."

"I dig that, works and lets the criminals know what's coming once you make a name for yourself." Present Mic said with a nod. "I approve."

"Thank you." Honenuki said as he went back to his seat and Kamakiri got up before Present Mic could say anything which was a good sign as the class was starting to really feel it.

"Jack Mantis." Kamakiri said as he showed it off. "A play on my appearance and the nature of my Quirk."

"Interesting and this has nothing to do with the Quirk Knights?" Present Mic asked.

"No." Kamakiri said a little confused by that. "Why would it?"

"If it doesn't have anything to do with them then it doesn't matter and besides, your reasoning works for it." Present Mic said. "Approved. Next."

At that Shishida got up and walked to the lectern with his whiteboard. His name was going to be a clever one that he knew he'd have to explain but once he did he was sure it would be approved as it was a good one. As such he was calm when he got to the lectern and flipped it over.

"Gevaudan." Shishida said his upper class accent clear in the word.

"Er what?" Present Mic asked. "What does that mean?"

"It is a reference to the Beast of Gévaudan, a supposedly man-eating grey wolf, dog, or hybrid of the two that terrorized a French province of the same name in the pre-Quirk era." Shishida said. "I read about it a while back and realized that it would work. The name itself is that of the province not the beast but it works as my Quirk is called Beast, and I look like one when in Beast Mode, so I will use it to be a beast to villains."

"Apocalypse Beast is better." Shiozaki said looking up from her board as she tried to find a new name. "That fits you."

"It does sound cool." Rin added. "And people will know that. Gevaudan sounds interesting and is memorable but few know some French legend out here."

"Yes but Apocalypse Beast isn't clever." Shishida pointed out. "I want it to be fitting and clever hence why I chose Gevaudan."

"It's a bit out there but your logic makes sense and it ties to your power." Present Mic said. "So I'll approve it."

"Thank you." Shishida said taking his seat unaware that he was going to be called Apocalypse Beast instead by the class, especially Shiozaki, as it was much easier than Gevaudan and sounded cooler.

As Shishida went to sit Shoda took this moment to get up and head to the lectern. As the Deputy Rep he should have been earlier but clearly his class was getting into this so he wasn't going to go while they had ideas they liked so he used that time to really settle on a name that he liked and which described his power well but subtly at the same time. Now that he had it he showed it to the class as he took the lectern.

"Mines." Shoda said before explaining it right away. "Because that's what Twin Impact does. I effectively place a mine on what I touch with my Quirk active so when I say 'impact' they are struck by it like a mine exploding."

"I see, a little complicated as the word can mean other things and might get confusing but it works and lets the villains know what." Present Mic said. "Approved."

Shoda nodded and took his seat while Tokage got up and went to the lectern a sharp toothed grin on her face. She felt she had a good name that summed up what she could do well and was going to present it to the class.

"Splitter." Tokage said. "You know cos I split my body up."

"Er no." Present Mic said.

"What? But it works." Tokage said.

"Yeah but it can get confusing with other words like spitter and is a little simple." Present Mic said shaking his head. "Back to the drawing board."

"Don't worry Setsuna, I too had to deal with this but after a little prayer I got a name that is more fitting though not better in my mind." Shiozaki said as Tokage took her seat and Shiozaki stepped up to the lectern and presented her new name. "Vine. It is short, simple, and is what my Quirk is. Plus my vines have thorns like the crown He wore upon the cross so there is still a tie to my faith."

"That's better, approved." Present Mic said with a nod. "See, now the villains will know who you are because of that."

"Yes they will know that I bring then the salvation of the Lord." Shiozaki said as she took a seat and Komori got up to present her name.

"Shemage." Komori said with a smile her right eye visible as she showed her sign off the moment she reached the lectern. "Shroom."

"Interesting, why?" Present Mic said not outright rejecting it which was a good sign.

"It sounds similar to shimeji, a cute shroom used in cooking and it also means a female mage and I have a witch-like costume." Komori said. "Plus I want to be an idol hero, one the masses love and cheer for so I need a name that pops out to them."

"I see, well that does work and mushrooms do have a certain magical theme to them." Present Mic said missing the accidental double meaning of his words. "Approved."

"Shroom." Komori said with a smile going to sit down as Kaibara got up and went to the lectern sign in hand.

"Spiral." Kaibara said as he showed it off after reaching the lectern. "Because I can spin any part of my body."

"Simple and straightforward, works with your personality." Present Mic said. "It's approved. Next."

At that Rin got up and walked to the lectern. He knew he'd have to explain his name a bit as it was a reference to his Chinese heritage being originally from China before his family moved to Japan when he was in elementary school but it would work and played into both his Quirk and the mythical nature of it.

"Long Weizi." Rin said as he showed off the name which he'd written in Japanese and that caused the murmur of confusion as the name didn't match what he had said.

"But that says Dragon Shroud." Oscar pointed out. "Not Long Weizi."

"Which does sound cool." Leo added. "And it pops off the tongue better."

"Yeah and your Quirk is Scales like a dragon's." Tetsutetsu said. "So it fits you well."

"It does work better and it will be written in Japanese so there could be confusion if it says that but when people address you it's something else." Mic said. "I presume there is a reason for it."

"It is a reference to the shroud draped over distinguished Chinese leaders." Rin said. "But I can see how Dragon Shroud works."

"It is better suited." Mic said. "If you want to keep it that while knowing what else it means it's got my approval but you can go back to the drawing board if you want as well."

"I think I'll keep it actually." Rin said thinking on it for a moment. "It does fit well and plays into the dragon theme that my scales show."

"Good next." Mic said and at that Oscar got up and made his way to the lectern.

"Terminus." Oscar said a little nervous.

"Er…" Present Mic said as the class blinked. "What's the meaning of it?"

"Shiozaki's first choice was in Latin and it got me thinking about the language and the culture that created it." Oscar said. "Terminus is the Roman god of boundaries and what I basically create is a barrier of sorts be it around myself and others or on the surface level as a boost."

"I see well it does work and a Huntsman is a protector so it plays into that branch." Present Mic said. "If it was for a normal branch student I'd be hesitant but as a Huntsman it wors so it's approved."

Oscar nodded relieved that his name had been approved as he went to sit down and the next person stood up. This time it was Tokage again determined to get her next name approved.

"Lizardly!" Tokage said loudly. "Because lizards regrow their body parts, my Quirk's name and the scale style of my costume."

"That's it, that's what I dig with you." Present Mic said pointing his fingers at Tokage and grinned. "It's approved."

"Yes!" Tokage said as she returned to her seat and Yanagi got up to give her name.

"Emily." Yanagi said as she flipped over her whiteboard the moment she reached the lectern.

"Emily?" Present Mic asked sounding more confused that he had at any name so far, a confusion which was shared by the class. "That's an English, western first name for a girl."

"It is." Yanagi said with a nod.

"So why did you chose it?" Mic asked.

"I like searching spooky stories on the internet and I found this film from America that survived the Quirk Wars called 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' and really liked it." Yanagi said. "It was spooky and the way things happened in it were like what I do with my Poltergeist Quirk so I took the name as a reference to the title character of the film."

"Huh it is a bit off the wall but there is logic to it even if it is rather odd." Mic said. "I'll approve it but I recommend marketing it a bit when you're in the field."

"So long as they know it's spooky fine." Yanagi said as she returned to her seat and Kodai got up with her own name.

"Rule." Kodai said showing it as soon as she reached the lectern and then going straight back to her seat before Mic could say anything about it.

"Alright, I guess my approval or questions aren't needed there." Mic said a little taken aback by what Kodai had done though he wouldn't have gotten a response from her if he'd asked anyway. "Er, who's next?"

Fukidashi was the next one up and he felt that he had a good name that fit what his Quirk did. It was a hard Quirk to explain to other people so this should help with it as he reached the lectern and presented it to the class.

"Sound Effect." Fukidashi said.

"Huh?" Mic asked. "Sound Effect?"

"Yes because I make onomatopoeia real." Fukidashi explained. "I say a word and that word appears in kanji and has that effect."

"It's a bit bland." Mic noted. "Is there any better way of saying it."

"Well it's more common to see in western comics than manga but they sometimes show a word in bold kinda like how I do with my Quirk that describes an effect albeit not exactly what I do." Fukidashi said. "So I guess would Comicman work?"

"Yes, that's much better and with your head it really sells the manga and comic angle." Mic said. "Approved."

A surprised look appeared on Fukidashi's speech bubble head but he quickly removed it before he returned to his seat as he realized that Comicman was better than Sound Effect anyway as it sounded cooler and had a heroic ring to it. As he did, Kuroiro got up and moved to the lectern. Unlike the others, his would be very impressive as he had a moniker so hopefully they liked it, especially one person who he really wanted to impress with it though naturally he wasn't looking at her as he flipped over his whiteboard the moment he reached the lectern.

"The Scheming Hero: Vantablack." Kuroiro said as he showed it to the class.

"That sounds abhorrent." Shiozaki noted. "A hero should not be scheming. A hero should always be true and honest, to deceive is to sin."

"Trickery and deception are fair game in the field." Kuroiro said though he didn't look to Shiozaki as he said it and his voice was a bit softer than normal as he responded to one of the girls in his class. "And with my Quirk it fits well."

"I see it's like that substance that is known to absorb more than 99.9% of light." Present Mic said. "What is it called again?"

"Vantablack." Kuroiro said.

"Right that, I approve of it." Present Mic said. "Next."

The next to step up was Tsunotori who made her way to the lectern small tail swishing a little as she walked. She had a name but she'd struggled to write the kanji for it so she decided instead to write it in her native English so that they would at least be able to read it and if they couldn't, well the English teacher was the one approving their names so he certainly could read it.

"Rocketti." Pony said.

"Ok, why?" Present Mic asked. "I don't ger it."

"I like it." Poni said. "I fire my horns like rockets and it's cute."

"Alright, it makes sense so it's allowed." Present Mic said easily convinced. "Next."

Tsunotori was a bit surprised at how fast it was approved but didn't question it as she returned to her seat pleased that her name had been accepted. The next one up was Awase and he had a simple but straightforward name like some of the other guys in his class so he didn't expect any issues with it.

"Welder." Awase said as he showed it off once he reached the lectern. "I do weld things together on the molecular level so it's fitting for what I can do."

"A straightforward one that explains what you do but doesn't give too much away." Present Mic said. "That will keep villains on their toes. I approve."

Awase nodded at that as he returned to his seat and Bondo got up to submit his own name. Like some of the others he was going for a descriptor but not a straightforward one. Then again his Quirk's name wasn't as straightforward as something like Glue so this would work for him, he was sure of it.

"Plamo." Bondo said.

"Like the hobby of plastic modeling and the products of it?" Present Mic asked. "Right?"

"Yes, it's a hobby that involves glue and I like to make them." Bondo said. "I just don't have the time I'd like as I want to be a hero so they've been piling up at home but this ties my hobby, something that is popular in Japan and my Quirk."

"That does work for you." Present Mic said. "Not for others but as it does for you I'll accept it."

Bondo nodded at that and went back to his seat. However, this time no one stood up, which might mean that they were done but they weren't as Mic noticed that there were 3 left so he called them out to see how they were doing with their hero names.

"Alright that just leaves Shinso, Tsuburaba and Monoma." Present Mic said looking at them. "Who's next?"

"You two go, I am saving mine for last." Monoma said with a slight flare that was very him. "It's the perfect one to end the names on."

"Fine but it's not really anything." Shinso said with a shrug as he got up and went to the lectern and revealed his name. "Hitoshi."

"Your given name?" Present Mic asked confused. "Are you sure that you want to use that as your hero name?"

"For now, yes." Shinso said with a nod. "My Quirk works best as a surprise so I can't have a name that gives it away. By using my first name this doesn't do it and will raise questions from villains when I give it to them so I can brainwash them quickly and end the threat as soon as possible when they question why a hero called Hitoshi has shown up."

"I see, that does make a lot of sense given your power." Present Mic said surprised at how well thought out it was. "Alright, given what your Quirk does and how it's best applied I'll approve it."

Shinso nodded again pleased that it was allowed as he returned to his seat and Tsuburaba reluctantly got up. He'd failed to come up with anything so he decided to just go with his name for the moment and change it if he thought of something better so he did just that and showed it off without a word. He also didn't go for first name like Shinso had.

"Tsuburaba?" Present Mic asked as he read the name written on Tsuburaba's whiteboard. "Your name as well?"

"Yes." Tsuburaba said. "For now that's what I'll use."

"Alright then, it's not great but that is one of the easiest to change." Present Mic said allowing it. "That just leaves Monoma as the Vermillion cousins and Yuno are declared Quirk Knight track students so don't need names."

"Yup and I have saved the best for last." Monoma said having going up as Present Mic was talking so he reached the lectern he and grinned but didn't flip it over savoring the moment. "As a background character with a Quirk that many don't think was suitable for hero work I have come to realize that I don't need anything flashy so just like my costume I've done that with my hero name. In this instance I have taken inspiration from literature and the character of the criminal who does bad for the sake of good and keeps a moral code and in this case I will be using villains' Quirks to take them down. As such I shall be known as Phantom Thief."

At that Monoma turned it over to reveal his name to the class. The moment it came up there was chatter and several groans at how he'd gone about it along with the fact that it was a flashy name just like his costume was.

"That is very Monoma."

"It does fit him."

"I'll admit, it sounds really cool."

"His power is to steal other powers after all so it is appropriate in a way."

"Yeah works for him."

"Seems flashy though so I don't get why it isn't."

"It's Monoma we should have expected this especially after seeing his hero costume."

"Alright that's enough." Present Mic said ending the class's chatter on Monoma's name. "It would seem that your class has spoken so it is approved. That was the last one so we're done with names. Remember that they can be changed but might be hard to do so, so be careful about that."

The class nodded as Vlad, who hadn't spoken but had been at the desk to the side sorting papers out, finished what he was doing while Present Mic stayed where he was. The class remained silent as Vlad stood up knowing that there was more to come as this was just part of their class today so they waited for that to happen.

"Alright now that you all have code names it's time for you to start deciding on where you want to do your internships." Vlad said as he began handing out the papers he'd prepared during the naming process. "These are the offers for those who got them, they are broken down by branch for convenience. Mic, if you could hand out the approved list to everyone as well that would be great."

"Roger that." Present Mic said as he took the other pile from Vlad and began to pass it out.

"Remember that you will choose from your offers if you have them and the approved list if not unless you have less than 10 offers in which case you can also choose from the list but I recommend you chose an offer unless you don't have any from the branch that you want." Vlad said as the lists were handed out and Yuno looked down the very thick one that was handed to him. "Please rank them just in case as some heroes offer more than they have spots for so it's first come first serve and then hand them in before the end of the week. That gives you 2 days to decide."

"Yes sir." The class said as the bell rang.

"Right you're dismissed." Vlad said as he and Present Mic went to the door and left.

As soon as they did the class began to peruse their options. Most had the list of 40 approved agencies so would discuss them with friends and look them up but for those with offers looked them over with a careful eye as these were agencies that had made it clear that they specifically wanted that student. It was a big decision so they all wanted to look closely before asking questions and they would certainly ask them as some had interesting offers.

For his part Yuno was set. He saw right at the top that he had Quirk Knight offers, Vlad had said as much, so the rest was immaterial to him but when he looked at it even he was a little surprised because while he'd expected a few, he had placed 3rd in the Sports Festival, he'd not expected to sweep them with offers from all 9 Squads.

That was shocking and had to be unheard of. To add to it he had offers from Beacon, Haven, and Shade, which were three of the four Huntsmen Agencies. That was a shock to him for sure, he'd not expected that at all especially because he didn't use a weapon so he had no clue why they'd want him. Regardless, he had his offers and there was no question which he'd take.

"So, what did my rival get?" Leo asked with a grin as he walked up to Yuno's desk. "How many Squads want you? I got 6 Quirk Knight offers. The only ones I didn't get were Golden Dawn, Silver Eagles and Blue Rose Knights. The latter two I understand, family and gender prevented them from offering me, the former are just very particular and selective with who they take and I didn't make the cut. This is more about who made me offers, I'm taking the one that the Crimson Lion Kings made me."

"Oh yes what did you get Yuno?" Mimosa asked, she wanted to ask Asta but she didn't have his number as she'd been too embarrassed to ask for it so she'd texted Noelle to ask him what offers he got but she'd not replied yet. "I got 7 offers from Quirk Knight Squads so I got the one I want."

"Damn you beat me." Leo said. "Let me guess, the offers you didn't get were because of family and gender like me."

"Yup, no offers from the Silver Eagles or Green Praying Mantises." Mimosa said. "Not that I expected them so I don't mind. I did ask Fuegoleon to not make me an offer but I guess he decided to do so anyway."

"Hey, I got the latter of those." Tetsutetsu said loudly. "Do you guys know why the Green Praying Mantises would want me?"

"Same." Kamakiri added. "Interesting and I must say the mantis idea appeals to me."

"Dude, your hero name is going to be Jack Mantis." Leo said looking to his classmate. "That is literally perfect for them. Their Captain is some sadist called Jack the Ripper who likes to sever things and can created odd blades from his body that can cut anything as their sharpness increases with his desire to slice things. No doubt he saw your appearance and learned of your Quirk and offered you because of that."

"Sounds about right." Kamakiri said. "Perhaps I'll take a work study with him if for no other reason than to learn how to slice and dice better, I feel like a man called Jack the Ripper can teach me that. Right now I want a main branch one to see what that's like. That said I also got Shade for Huntsmen agencies, not sure why I got an offer from them though."

"I can explain that." Oscar said as they began to group up. "You're Quirk allows you to create blades from your body Kamakiri, so long as they're sharp enough, which I know they are, that's a weapon that could be used against Grimm without the need for training. Shade isn't picky with offers and if they see potential they'll try to recruit it no matter what your interest is. I got an offer from them as well as Beacon which was to be expected as Beacon almost always makes offers to U.A. Huntsman track students. There's no doubt that I'm going to take Beacon's offer, it's the best of the for and my recommender runs it so it's the ideal place for me to learn."

"I see, well I don't really have a desire to fight Grimm and I feel that a work study with the Green Praying Mantises will expose me to that experience anyway as Quirk Knights work in the countryside where Grimm prowl." Kamakiri said thinking on it while Yanagi looked to Kodai who also had a Shade offer but Kodai gave a small shake of her head indicating she wasn't taking it and that was all the nearly silent girl needed to express her desire. "Not bad though. Getting offers from all three branches despite my performance does boost the ego."

"But why did I get an offer from the Green Praying Mantises?" Tetsutetsu asked again. "I just want to beat up villains in a big city."

"For you it will be entirely due to your Quirk." Leo said. "Jack really likes to see if he can cut things with his Severing Quirk so he likely saw your Steel Quirk, and saw it beaten, and decided he couldn't be one upped there so made an offer to try and sever it himself."

"He'd do that?" Tetsutetsu asked.

"Yeah he would." Leo said. "His sadistic desire for slicing thing is what actually makes his Quirk so strong. In fact he's one of the first non-upper class Quirk Knights to be named Captain which is an impressive achievement."

"Well damn but I don't get tougher by taking blows as there's a limit to how hard I can be and its durability decreases the longer its active." Tetsutetsu said. "Still, nice to be thought of but I'm fighting crime in a big city and I know who I want."

"Who?" Kamakiri asked.

"Fourth Kind." Tetsutetsu said with a grin. "He's a manly hero in a big city, perfect for me."

"Sounds right up your ally." Kendo said. "I am going for a city hero as well in the Snake Hero: Uwabami but I also got a Quirk Knight offer though, the Coral Peacocks. What can you tell me about them? I'm not opposed to a work study with them down the line to see what that branch is all about."

"Er…" Mimosa began. "Well seeing as my obnoxious, arrogant, elitest ass of a brother is their Vice-Captain and basically runs it because their Captain, Dorothy Unsworth, is almost always asleep I know the squad well but I may not be the most impartial source."

"Clearly." Kendo said surprised at the usually kind girl's rather clear dislike for her brother which meant that there was something more there. "Can you at least tell me what you know. Your brother is a member so you must know something."

"I know a little but for the record my brother joined because they were the most beautiful Squad in his mind." Mimosa said. "His narcissism would make Narcissus look humble that's how bad it is. That was his reason for joining them rather than our family's Squad so I wasn't going to join them even if they made me an offer. That said, in terms of rankings, their mid-tier. Strong and competent, and from what I've heard Dorothy's Quirk is damned impressive and one of the more esoteric ones out there, but you'd have to deal with my brother constantly looking down on you for being lower class so it's probably not worth it."

"I see well it doesn't sound like I'd learn much from them then." Kendo said thinking on Mimosa's endorsement, or lack thereof, of the Coral Peacocks. "But thank you for letting me know about them. I'll do a bit more research into them when work studies roll around."

"What I don't get is why my Huntsmen offer isn't Shade or Beacon." Tokage said getting their attention. "It's Atlas."

"That makes no sense." Oscar said his eyes wide at the news. "Atlas is very strict with recruiting from Shiketsu unless they see real talent and even then it's someone who's already declared for the Huntsman track and has the weapon proficiency to justify it. They must see something in you that they like or is similar to someone there that they feel that you can learn from."

"Well I am a recommended student and my family knows people in the Huntsmen branch so that could play a role." Tokage said with a shrug. "But it's not what I want and I don't have the weapon skills. It's standard work for me."

"For most of us it will be, there is a reason why the other two branches are small compared to the normal one." Honenuki said. "Though I too got a Quirk Knight offer, the Black Bulls."

"Same." Shoda said.

"I too got that one." Pony added. "Why? I'm going down the normal route."

"The Black Bulls are the worst of the worst for Quirk Knights." Leo said as Mimosa got a reply from Noelle informing her that Asta had 5 offers but was taking the Black Bulls to be with her, and Nero was also accepting it though Noelle only added that afterwards, which made Mimosa's stomach sink and her chest hurt though she knew that Noelle meant nothing bad by it and that it was the right place for Asta to go as he was close with the other two Quirk Knight students in his class. "They tend to be more open to new members and less picky though their reputation is bad due to them causing more harm than good on average. Their Captain's title is Destruction God shows you all that you need to know."

"There could be potential in learning in a different branch." Honenuki said as Mimosa felt that Leo was a bit harsh but then again Asta had decided to join that Squad, and Noelle had to join it, so she was again letting personal feelings bias her. "Being flexible on this is good and I commend Kamakiri and Kendo on being open to it when we can do work studies and so I will be open minded as well."

"It's not for me." Pony said shaking her head. "We don't have that in America and I came here for the mainstream Japan culture."

"I am undecided but for now I want to see what the normal track has to offer." Shoda said. "So I'll be sticking with that and seeing how it goes."

"All fair." Kendo said. "Anyone else with a different branch? Monoma got the Crimson Lion Kings, I saw, but he left before I could ask him about it."

"I have the Golden Dawn." Shiozaki said. "But I want to be in a city where I can preach the good word more to the many sinners there in need of salvation. I am honored that a Squad of such esteem wants me but I feel my word won't get out as much."

"Damn you made their cut and aren't high born." Leo said. "They must see a lot in you. That or Vangeance has some other reason for it, I can never really tell with that man."

"That's the Squad that I'm joining, Ibara." Mimosa said snapping out of her thoughts about Asta and Noelle being in the same Squad to respond to her friend and fellow plant Quirk user. "So you should consider it at least."

"Perhaps as a work study, if you have good things to say about them." Shiozaki said. "For now I will be taking an internship in a big city and I have a few strong offers from heroes that I can learn a lot from as they have similar nature based Quirks."

"Alright will do though you should know that Vangeance's Yggdrasil Quirk is plant based as well so he can teach you some things." Mimosa said which did peak Shiozaki's interest so she'd have to pray on it but didn't respond so Mimosa turned to Yuno to ask him about his offers, again. "Well, Yuno, we've been distracted but you got the most offers in the class so where did you get and where are you going?"

"Yeah you got Huntsmen offers as well, right?" Oscar asked. "That's got to be because they think your Quirk will work well on Grimm. If an agency thinks that they'll make an offer even if you don't use a weapon."

"Probably as Beacon, Haven, and Shade offered me internships but I am set on the Quirk Knights." Yuno said surprising Oscar but he understood Yuno's decision. "And all 9 offered me an internship."

"Wait what!" Leo said his eyes going wide as Mimosa too stared at Yuno. "All 9!"

"Yes, I take it that that's never happened before." Yuno said. "I don't really know the internal politics of the Squads just what their rankings are."

"Not since Charlotte took over the Blue Rose Knights at least." Mimosa said. "She's notoriously misandrist so she's never offered a man an internship or a work study as far as I'm aware. It actually caused them to be fined for gender discrimination and led to a deal where the Green Praying Mantises can exclude women so long as the Blue Rose Knights exclude men. This will upend it for sure as it's unheard of for them to make an offer like this. Even the Crimson Lion Kings and Silver Eagles seem to be more open to non-upper class students in recent years if you fit what they want. Golden Dawn not so much but they also have some rather strict standards that are hard to reach."

"Well I'm taking the Golden Dawn so it's not an issue." Yuno said. "They are the best Quirk Knight Squad so I'll learn the most there. It's an honor to have this offer, it's one that I can't pass it up."

"Ok then we're going to the same Squad." Mimosa said with a smile glad that a friend was with her in it. "That's good."

"Yes I am looking forward to it." Yuno said as he filled out his form with Golden Dawn at the top but he did rank the other Quirk Knight offers just in case. "So I'm going to turn it in now and then get lunch to see where Asta is going."

"I'll join you." Mimosa said quickly sorting out her own form.

"Count me in." Leo said his form having only one name on it which he'd written in the moment he saw it and they got up to sort it out, as did several of their class. "I want to get this sorted right away."

Yuno just nodded at that as they left the classroom. It had been a straightforward class with good names and offers and now all of them were looking forward to their internships as they decided on where they wanted to go and then submitted their selections to their homeroom teachers. None of them knew what was in store for the nation in the coming week or the role some of them would play in the events to come that would rock Japan.

Another ominous not to end the chapter on as we gear up for the Hero Killer arc. With this I felt that Class 1-B deserved a little love after the Sports Festival and as some will feature in the coming arc, and I liked the suggestion, I decided to give their own names and offers chapter for y'all to enjoy. The only thing to really note is that all the names are canon, I wasn't going to change them though I did create some rejected ones for a little drama (except for Shiozaki that was her first name but she had to change it), but there are two that are slightly different to those who either like me watch the dub or are more literal. They are Shoda, Kuroiro and Rin's names. For the first two it's because the dub actually changed it from Vantablack to Vantadark (and his Quirk from Black to Dark) due to trademark issues but I prefer Vantablack so I use it and this is pretty much my sole exception to using a non-dub term in any of my works while localizing Mines to Mindz and Mines just makes more sense for Shoda. As for the latter, Rin's name that I had rejected is his official canon one but I didn't like it and went for a more literal reading of the Japanese as it sounded better though the actual name is a reference to the shroud draped over distinguished Chinese leaders. Other than that the only other note is that unlike Class A, Class B has a character who's VA also voices a Huntress at Atlas as Tokage's VA also voices Elm (and her BC character is going to make something very interesting if I can set it up) hence why she got that offer. There really isn't much to explain about this chapter otherwise, it was a pretty straightforward one to show what Class 1-B was up to and add to the upcoming Hero Killer arc. That is all that I have so I will leave this chapter off here.
