Short 11: Karaoke Killing

Author Note: Place Before Helluva Boss: The New Employee Episode 10

In the human world, there is a club that is for teenagers and young adults. They all walk into the building with excitement on their faces. Inside the club, there are many different teenagers and adults having food, drinks, dancing on the dance floor, and on the right side of the stage. Among them is the I.M.P Crew with Amara taking a human form. Of course, Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie are dressed in wigs, large coats, and other clothes so they can't be recognized by humans.

"Okay gang, our client explained that he got off with this bastard who owns this club. He already paid half in advance and paid the rest when we got the job done," Blitz says.

"And how do you expect us to find the owner of the club, and try not to draw attention to us?" Moxxie questions.

"I'm sure we can come up with something to distract them while we take care of our work," Blitz says.

Amara soon notices, "Hey guys, look over there."

The Imps look to where Amara is looking to see a table with a sign that reads, 'Karaoke Sign Up.' There's even a sign up on the clipboard and with vendors in charge of it.

Blitz smirks and turns to Amara, "I think I just found our little distraction Amara."

"Huh?" Amara says, confused.

Soon enough, Amara finds herself on the stage with the guitar in her hand and has a microphone in front of her. She finds herself staring in front of a giant audience.

"I had to open my big beak," Amara mutters.

Suddenly, Blitz calls out, "You can do it cowgirl!"

"Yeah. Thanks," Amara says.

Then mutters, "I am so going to get him for this!"

Just then, the music begins to play as Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie head off to find the owner of the building to take him out. Amara sighs and begins to play the guitar, to get the feeling of the music that is being played. Then look on the screen to see the lyrics coming on. Soon, Amara begins to sing.

Amara:

Everyone has got a secret side

A winding path up to a door that's open wide

You think you know me but I'm changin' all the time'

Soon Amara begins to feel the mood and begins to sing louder with a smile. That also earns the people's attention.

Amara:

'Cause if I wanna be sweet

If I wanna be wild

If I wanna cry like a child

If I pick up the world in the palm of my hand

I guess that's just who I am

This is me

Can't ignore it

Reaching out

Breaking free

Constantly

Falling forward

Yeah, I'm just goin' for it

This is me

Soon, everyone begins to clap and cheer with excitement to see Amara's performance. Meanwhile, Blitz and the others sneak into the owner's office. Amara enjoys singing on the stage and continues to strum her guitar and follow the lyrics.

Amara:

Sometimes life is a confusing thing

And when I talk it seems like no one's listening

Try to be an angel, but I just can't find my wings'

'Cause I wanna be sweet

But I wanna be wild

If I wanna find my own style

So, I make a mistake, then I do it again

But I do it the best way that I can

Amara then places the guitar on the ground, and takes the microphone off the pole. Then she jumps off the stage and walks into the crowd.

Amara:

This is me

Can't Ignore it

Reaching out

Breaking free

Constantly

Falling forward

Yeah, I'm just goin' for it

This is me

Everyone circles around Amara with excitement as they clap and cheer.

Amara:

More than what you see

Finding out who I can be

Amara then climbs up the stage and continues to sing.

Amara:

This is me

Can't Ignore it

Reaching out

Breaking free

Constantly

Falling Forward

Yeah, I'm just goin' for it

This is me...

Can't Ignore it

Reaching out

Breaking free

Constantly

Falling Forward

Yeah, I'm just goin' for it

This is me...

Can't Ignore it

Reaching out

Breaking free

Constantly

Falling Forward

Yeah, I'm just goin' for it

This is me

Amara continues to play and strums her guitar to end the music. When it ends, all the humans clap and cheer with excitement for Amara's performance. Amara smiles and bows her head. Then walks off the stage with a smile on her face. Soon enough, Amara is outside of the club and soon Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie walk out, covered with some blood.

"Hey guys, see you guys took care of the job," Amara says.

"You know it. We off that bastard and we made sure it looked like suicide," Blitz says.

Millie happily says, "And we were able to spare some time to see you perform. You really bring down the house!"

"Thanks," Amara says.

"We better get going before someone notices," Moxxie says.

"I can agree to that," Amara says.

Soon the portal opens, Moxxie and Millie are the first to walk through the portal. Then Amara and Blitz.

Blitz then says, "Now that we're done with work for the day, let's go to the karaoke bar. I heard they have some great songs. And maybe I can sing some myself."

"You're just going to sing very loud songs," Amara says.

"You know me so well. Now it's time to rock the house!" Blitz says with a smirk.

Amara then teases Blitz with a punch on the shoulder, "You goof…"
