Stargate Atlantis Trading Grounds I: The Return To La Rochelle
Warnings: This story is going to match the dialog, in the flashback memories, of chapter 4, of the past meets the present series. As it also follows the complete mental breakdowns, of the human half of the team. And Robert Makepeace and Adam Johnson, so the story is going to follow the dialog to the letter exactly. Along with some new dialog that was not in the fast forwarded portion in the flashbacks.
With this chapter now is that they are preparing to settle into their lives on the Enterprise, but from here on in, in to the rest of the story. As there is going to be a severe amount of Carter, Frasier and O'neill bashing, for the rest of the series. As what if there was more to the events of the second season, Hathor and Omac. Then we ever knew, and this story gives the pretense to it, followed by a rigging the proceedings.
Basing this in real time, rather then the show, of 25 years ago, Antarctica was a neutral zone for research so military research was not allowed out there. And with it, as the chair is considered military technology, it was meant to be last resort. In case of another orbital attack, so the outpost is now trade and exploration. So with this chapter, is the colony/crew is now getting used to being a slightly underwater crew.
This chapter will finish off this portion of the story-line, as the next two chapters and forward, cover chapter 2, going by the name. And of The Glory Of Tantulus, which covers things, from his going to the races and Tok'ra creation of the treaty. And his return to Shyla, before the following Chapters cover the the breakdowns of the trio and Carter, who's lost her ability to function mentally, out of desperation now.
As the mission was sanctioned, and he was transferred to Landry and the Atlantis team at the time. As Rodney McKay, Cam Mitchell, Vala Mal Doran, Hank Landry, Frank Simmons, Steven Caldwell, John Shepard. And Elizabeth Weir enter the picture here, the story will have Daniel and Teal'C joining their team. As the SGA is founded 5 years early, and moved into the outpost on earth….

Chapter 47: The Mission Begins And Permanent Farewells I
"Agreed, these lunatics are some sadistic freaks, if your parents saw the men these MIS guys work for." Henderson said sternly and he nodded then. "Yeah I can just imagine what Mel would do to him, or Powell, for even touching you like that. Your father was not someone many wanted to piss off right now." Landry said sternly and Hammond and Ferretti nodded. "Home 2, he's the child molester." Daniel said and Alexander nodded sternly then.
"Well the nickname of Queenie sounds good on you." he added and she smiled, and Haden chuckled. "I figured, I get that all the time right now, but we're deck 51, the pressure airlock right now, is the entrance to the habitat, and as a result now. It's enter that portion of the deck, get ready for the tidal forces pulling you into the elevator." she said and he nodded. "Alright let me take a guess, but your crew look like Sam, Dustin and Sharon?" he asked and they nodded.
"And Larry sounds like Dave, in his portrayal of Dewey Riley, yeah okay got it, just make sure you got the deck pressurized, so what's it look like down there?" he asked and he smiled. "It's like living in space now, you see some interesting animals, but we got the lights on. With the warp drive, to see everything outside, we can see outside, but whatever is out there. Can't see in, they can only on deck 35 and up, because of the colossal squids." he said and Daniel nodded.
"I thought they never cross into the polar ice?" he asked and he shook his head. "Normally they don't, but if there's a real one down here, it's the book waiting to happen here. Because these guys get so paranoid, it's a flip out waiting to happen, the infirmary comes equipped here. And the usual psychiatric equipment, and just in case, someone finally had enough. But most of these guys, said never did a stint this deep, with us hanging off 150 above the shelf lining."
"My friends, the guy I was just talking to, who just explained it to Eric, Karen and David, knew for a fact here, going down this deep there was several complications. 1) being oxygen at above 2.3 becomes toxic, 2) the water this far below is so cold you'll freeze to death. And instead of falling down, you're going to fall up and then die once on the surface and finally here now. Is decompression sickness, and that takes a week to recover from." he said and Daniel nodded.
"One more reason never to read that book, if you go downstairs, you never know when the paranoia from the water life gets started." he said and Haden nodded with a chuckle. "If you mean 20,000 leagues, yes, but the Crichton novel, there's the paranoia here. Straight and simple, in where space dementia gets you, and I saw this in my subordinate last month. And we had to arrest him, after he flipped out, before we sent him topside." he said and Daniel nodded.
"Oh dear god, there's the point, 900 feet below surface levels, in water, is the habitat, Peter was right, in his portrayal of Barnes, and to quote that. What I understand is that an exotic-gas environment a thousand feet underwater. With no link to the surface is just about the most dangerous place on the planet. If there's a problem, I need to know, we're 145 fathoms down and now we've got a nut bag down here who can flip-out and crack up, why didn't you tell me."
"It doesn't matter if it's a thousand feet or ten feet, I repeat here, but 100 feet, to 1,000 feet down, it doesn't matter, we selected the team. That who wasn't paying attention, if we have a nutcase suffering claustrophobia, who could have a nervous breakdown." Daniel said, crossing his arms then sternly. "You got the estimate right, 850 to 900ft is 145 fathoms." Haden said and Carson covered his eyes, knowing Daniel's inner deepsea crewman just came out finally at that.
"You idiots, where is your brain exactly, this deep down whoever never did deep sea exploration, could freak out, marine biologists never did deepsea exploration. Especially if they had a history of mental illness here." Daniel snapped sternly and Griff swallowed hard at the tone. "We can handle this, but watch your men, if they're about to suffer under sea space dementia. I want to know about it, now." Landry said to him gently then and they nodded sternly to the orders.
"We only got down to deck 42, deck 43, at that side of the deck, just became a death trap, that watch it right now, I'm in training with Queenie, Ted and Eric. And let alone Dave as I master this, being a physics tech, but start that, and it's 'shut up, get out of the control room. As you have no idea what the hell you're doing, get out!'." he said and they both nodded sternly. "Yep, and there it is, you're training to be a physicist and mathematician." she said and he nodded.
"New terrain, new skills, the ending result was after he broke his leg, after they got thrown out of the gate, they been scared to come back up here, he gets something else. At Francine's side deck, and it's screw coming back down here, this continent is bad luck." he said and they heard laughing over the radio and Alexander nodded smiling. "Aside from said concussion there was nothing worse then that, though you were working a 3rd degree one." she said and he nodded.
"Saying of which, which elevator is which exactly?" he asked and she nodded, and brought him and the others downstairs then, to their control room. "Good god, it's freezing down here, alright break out the electric blanket sweaters." Daniel called out and they nodded, as they pulled on their sweaters, and she lead them to one room outlined in blue, another in green and the third in red. "The red door's the entrance into the habitat." Redford said and he nodded.
"In addition to the sweaters you just grabbed up, we're also dressed in sweats day in and out in here now, but as Queen said, with 10 decks, all the comforts of home here. As a result now, we got our own gym and galley, as well as dorms and infirmary down here. So as a result, in case of trouble, and said consideration with the rapid cooling effect with the fan. Said is still a danger, so as whoever never reached the point for hypothermic shock now and said is reason enough."
"And whoever we had to get out of the water was half frozen, and shivering close to a seizure here, said is why, you need to stay in bed here right now, till whoever we're looking for. "Yeah we know and attempt that I'm court martialing her for attempted murder right now. You never suffered a draw back, in the sum times you kept you kept coming in here right now. But my subordinate as much as you're Andy's now." he said and Daniel smiled gently and Haden chuckled then.
"After a few days decompression, we go return topside to our families here, but we do this so often it became normal right now. Swapping atmospheres's but that's the problem, is gate traveling is hazardous to your heath when it's a warzone. But we spent close to a week ferrying out officers up here, but 150 naval personnel here, 2,500 Air Force officers here. But with you coming in repeatedly to do a stint, you're more Navy the Air Force." she said and he smiled.
"Yeah this I like, it's quiet finally, complete peace and quiet, I'm not hearing gate activation alarms going off day in and day out, nobody set off something right now. To make me sick of having a groundhog's day out of body experience right now. As with you my knowledge is put to use, as to that right now, and to say it again, they don't need me: Nobody in that rathole does." he said and her eyes gentled at that, as her commander crossed his arms then, at the tone.
And of hate and resentment at his ex team mates, why he left so fast now, he'd rather be somewhere quiet, and seeing that same look on his team psychiatrist. Who gave a gentle nod, as the quartet exchanged firm looks, knowing they had to talk about this. Once they were topside, as he was spending 50% of his time around them, when not with Dixon now. "Andy, could I talk to you please." he asked and Dixon nodded gently and they, Haden and Landry.
Then moved to the other side of the floor. "I can tell there's a severe level of resentment at the duo, and Frasier, exactly what they do to make him exile himself to the Navy now?" he whispered and he sighed. "Partial on Hathor, and 3/4's on Shyla, but Sha're is the founding reason, if not, his parents death was the week, they went to La Rochelle. He got caught in a cave in, and then she tried to come lie her way out of this, they're convinced here now."
"That orders never make sense then it's a lie, brought on by drugs, Daniel's study of the sarcophagus was covert, only the medical/psychiatrical. And Hammond knew the orders, before he told Teal'c next, it's after this, was Machello, and they threw him to the wolves to keep going." he said and he and Haden nodded nodded sternly to the news. "Alright then, I never found anything dangerous down here, and the water's too deep to consider a crashed ship."
"So if there was an instance, of our movie counterparts, and she's brought on board, any funny business, she's in the chamber, and being shipped back to Colorado." he said and Dixon nodded sternly. "But if not you and Cam on mission, he's with us, he's got all the makings of a young deep-seas scuba diver, so he's safe with us." he said and Landry nodded as they heard it. "The teams actually take turns this was our's, so once done, the next one gets back in 7 days now."
"This is the control room, and that's one's meant to finish pressurizing you, before you open the interlock, going back upstairs. But trust me, if you think it's cold in here, on the outside of the walls, well try in being on catwalk, and it's solid metal bars. In crossing around the extension shaft, that you're going to freeze to death in there, if you go below 39. As the water and the ice together, it's so cold it's you're going to freeze to death this way." Fletcher said and he nodded.
As she left her hand on his shoulder, as he sat there, examining the numbers and nodded, before his eyes narrowed and he tapped a code in and a message wrote out. 'Optimal power and orders received and understood.'. "We just hit a memory cap here, there's something down there talking in Ancient Egyptian, looks like we had someone crash down there. And whatever it was, is still alive, and using his sarcophagus." he said and they nodded in shock to the news.
"Sarah where's the expedition exactly?" he asked and she crossed her arms. "They're bringing everything in from Egypt, looks like we just caught someone in the act." she said and he nodded. "Who are you, my lord, my name is Commander Daniel Jackson." he said, saying it in Ancient Egyptian as he typed it and message wrote itself out. "I am Pelops, Greek God of Pisa, I crashed 3,000 years ago, after Grandfather blasted my ship down."
"What is the year on the surface." he read out to them. "The year is 1999 A.D., but hate to have to tell you this, but the how in how I can talk to you is I'm a linguist here. How are you still alive, aside from your sarcophagus, you crashed into the southern pole. And are too deep for us to reach you, the water is so deep here, that you're 45,000ft below the surface. No human can swim that deep or dive that deep, submersibles or not." he said and they heard a sign then.
"Then leave me be, if I am trapped down here, I thank you for letting me know someone found me, and I can talk to someone again, as all my jaffa are dead." he said and Haden covered his eyes. "We're here for indefinitely, but my ship is parked directly over you, at 44,025 feet, so any explosions down there won't affect us. If you decide by asphyxiation, we understand you're lonely, no contact with your lotar, it's lonely." he said and knew it then.
That he nodded. "I understand right now and thank you, well if you're here indefinitely I have someone to talk to again, but the water is keeping my ship going. As I converted deuterium into fuel here." he read out and Haden nodded. "My lord, we came across your research station on Argos, my ex team leader got infected by it. But my father had strict rules on no drinking, what you created, we call it a sexually transmitted disease here."
"And the scientists of my scholar type are never letting him live it down." he said and a stern message wrote itself out. "I meant to undo the effects, after I had what I needed, but I crashed here on your planet, before I could return. Did you fix that, before it killed my people, Commander?" he said and Daniel nodded. "We did, they are living full lives right now, they'll be fine." he said gently and they heard a sigh of relief, as he answered him gently then.
"I thank you, but before we can talk more, I must rest now, so same time, in 48 hours Commander." he said and Daniel looked at Haden, who nodded. "Yes my lord, 48 hours, see you then." he said and ended it. "Well Jerry just became a Goa'uld trapped down there who knows how long, and he's lonely. Just wait till he starts destroying things, as the blast from the ship reaches us." his next in command said and Redford nodded, as their psychiatrist nodded.
"Alex, what's the hell's going on down there?" Daniel asked and Lieutenant Alexander Jenkins nodded as he explained that. "We just finished up, but like Eric said, 1 day for every 100ft, so 975ft, equals 9.5 days in the chamber." he said and they nodded. "Where we at here, at this level, on 43?" he asked and Redford smiled. "That's 700ft, the red knob is the pressure gauge, but it's the same in layman's terms, push too much, it's an explosion." she said and he nodded.
"And you thought you had it bad here right now, this is something I'm learning, till I got it so mastered right now. She can't match my expertise, I been around you so long, this becomes second nature to me, but that stern tirade, I'm a naval deepsea diver now." he said gently and she and Alexander chuckled as they looked at the camera, and he saw. That his guess was right as the quartet matched, in looks, Samuel L. Jackson, Sharon Stone and David Arquette.
"Hey guys, I'm in the control room here now." he said and they all looked at the camera. "Hey son, just give it a few days here, then we can talk face to face. But I'm one of 8 Psychiatrists working on the ship here now." Henderson said and he nodded, as he was amazed at yow fast, the Navy took over the program now. "I only been gone a week, how could we assemble the crew, both sides, and that fast." he said and he chuckled and nodded.
"With the program returning to civilian control, the Air Force has the research and development now, we got the Antarctic and running the chair itself. The joint chiefs changed orders, after your report came out, and when it did right now. The joint chiefs decided you're working for us now, as the Air Force is only using your training. When they really need it here, and your little test run on the computer now, opened it up."
"As to that, they decided if the SGC and the Air Force are not making use of your abilities then the Navy's assuming control of the program. They have creation of the fleet being built right now, till such time here they realize your way. Now works better then their's and the playback rant that Vance showed me. And before you returned to Earth, revealed the anger and resentment at the duo and Frasier, your team now."
"As it was, is no more right now, so we're going to see how well we do with your skills, it pans out and you're under our payroll indefinitely now." he said and Daniel nodded smiling, as he answered him then. "Looks to me, you're a Naval version of my uncle, if you're staying with the team." he said and he nodded and Landry smiled. "Yes and remember don't push me, pal, if you get hurt during our checks, you need to be in bed."
"The side effects, but a dislocated ankle, and recovering from landed you in the infirmary, is reason enough to put your legs out for a week." he said and the team CMO nodded in agreement. "No kidding and it better not be the same leg twice, but how stupid do you think we are exactly." the team doctor said sternly to that. "Uh oh, yeah dead man walking if you do this under his supervision." Lou said, flinching at the remark then at that remark.
"I take it you mean she's desperate enough to consider a near fatal accident, to try and convince George, that working as a deepsea diver, is just not for you. You should be back with the Flyboys?" the habitat doctor said sternly, walking in and he nodded gently. "Unfortunately, in truth her problem is she's scared to death of walking back in there, but play that back." he said and they nodded, as he switched to another monitor then, and put in the middle of the episode.
"Say it young man, and you're being arrested right now, as whatever reason he has, regarding you little brats, is being told directly to me, and through me, right to Hank, Jean and Vance." they heard and Hoffman turned to see his double, looking like he did on Outbreak, only dressed in a navy blue dress uniform then, and with his arms crossed sternly. "Oh boy, yeah dead man walking here." Lou said gently and the older man nodded sternly.
And to the remark then. "Yes, and boys, Annie, better join the admiral, if you're all coming with Danny, because just to get you out of here, is shoving in their face. That civil services, if the said civilian wants to resign, is fine, but clearly the little shits. Are like the hallucination, that nearly wrecked the Professor's life a second time right now." he said and then said it sternly. "Brandon's pissed." the doctor said sternly to this.
"More then pissed off, I never knew their relationship, till he practically shouted it at these guys." Haden said to him gently and he nodded."You honestly expected to get away with that right now, how long before I come back to claim what belongs to me. You heard me right you little bastard, in truth, is there are three military officers. My double is playing, two in the medical department, and the other a Naval psychiatrist."
"One covering deep sea diving of the type that said movie is based on, I do this all the time. You have no idea of his entire transfer records do you, in addition to 10 to 13, under the Nashes. Well the last one, this time for the following 5 years, before he headed for Chicago to start his career, Colonel. Was me, I'm not just anyone, but a family friend, as Frasier said calls to every specialist in the service, well so did Mel."
"In medical and psychiatrical. I'm the second, I'm doing deepsea exploration, I chose him specifically." he said and Jack went white in fear then. "I kept dying my hair I see." he said and the man nodded bemused smiling. "We're not as young as we used to be, but we're still working the field, like being in virologist, same concept here right now. But 80% of the team, aside from us and Dave Barnes, is borderline 45 years old in age."
"Our youngest is a recently activated cadet, just out of graduate school at 28." he said and Hoffman nodded smiling and the quartet nodded sternly the news. "I'd hate to be the poor idiot that turns our temper on them, as if Jake is not enough already. We're worse, but captain or colonel it's the same rank. Only in Naval form here, we'll get ready to get blasted if you don't control that temper of your's." he said and Jack paled.
"Hey Doctor, I'm Commander Daniel Jackson." he said and the psychiatrist nodded, smiling. "New patient, just give it time, but though 34, I still see you 18 years younger." he said to him and he looked down and they chuckled. "That explains the photo on his desk, that was you." the doctor said smiling and he nodded gently. "Or rather not new at all, still my little boy, there's the you I know, but I can tell kiddo, you still are."
"Very much so, so don't give me any trouble, I'm your parents age group, but though 34, to me you're still an pre cadet, don't remember me Danny, Uncle Brandon, Lieutenant Commander Brandon Henderson." he said and Daniel smiled in delight as he hugged him tightly and he pressed his forehead to his. "Missed you." he said and the man smiled gently and the trio smiled gently, knowing the older man was exactly what he needed.
"I missed you too son, time to come home now." he said and then said it gently. "Let me guess the 9 year old in you came back out, after Hathor arrived here, but in reality, you're a young teenager trapped in your adult body." he said and Daniel nodded gently. "I read the record, you nearly took a bullet to him, that says, if you were still a child. You've been so abused, that it's going to take weeks to ease your tension down.
"But if they're arguing about you staying here, then clearly the effects are stronger then even they considered. They're trying to break you completely, make you compliant only to her." he said and Daniel nodded in fear, as he backed away from the duo and Sam in fear at that remark then and she paled. "She refused to consider the effects are permanent, in the pheromones?" Barnes asked sternly and he nodded to him gently then.
"Stronger then we all thought, she told them to break me by any means necessary." he said and Hammond nodded slowly. "Enigma, Thanos, the symbiote killers and last night." Carson said sternly and they both nodded, and they all looked at Jack, who went pale then. "Only you never broke, you resisted to the very end, and we got them, espionage, for life!" Addison said smiling sternly at that and the cast nodded sternly to this news then.
"Dead man walking here." Paxton said sternly and Sigourney nodded in agreement. "Yep as such here right now, just what the hell are we supposed to think, that seductive tone. Said homosexual in every way you can say it here, they're trying to keep him then. Till he breaks and commit to Hathor." Raynor said and they nodded in agreement to that, seeing Jack went white in fear, now realizing he was the target always. "Yeah you're done." Barnes said to that sternly.
"Maggie, Jason, blood tests now!" Daniel shouted out, and they nodded, as they grabbed Jack, and he jerked at the sting, as the needle went in, as they withdrew some blood. Before doing the same thing to Makepeace, and taking it back to the lab to run a status check. "Just give it a month to 6 weeks, see if the level went down, if not, then the effects are permanent, they're her's forever, and false witness against a neighbor, a team mate."
"That is an eternal law, one broken, and they're being judged, as eternally damned, by way of Shyla's kingdom for life now." he and and Rosen nodded, sternly, as he crossed his arms, and that did it for the duo, realizing, he had them where he wanted them now. "Wait, wait you're not thinking he's still under her influence?" she said in shock to that news. and they nodded. "Denial, she's in denial." Jordan said and Daniel nodded sternly to him then.
"It makes sense, here why we found his knife and key at my apartment." Daniel said sternly to her then and she swallowed hard. "General the blood tests came back positive, the effects stayed in their system, it's permanent!" Perry shouted and Daniel backed away from them quickly at that remark, and into Teal'C and he quickly caught him then to steady him. "Yeah there it is, the bastards are screwed here now, she gave them a promise."
"And then kept pavlovving them with more and more and till he took his pouch and Teal'C changed him back, but it's permanent." Carson said sternly and Jack swallowed hard. "And that's everything we need here, the effects never wore off, they've been pavlovved into breaking him. And till he swore fealty to her, but he belongs to Selmak's mother." Hammond said sternly and the duo started shaking violently in fear.
Now realizing to them this was enough, just to have them incarcerated now, and there was no coming back out. "Daniel's leaving whether they like it or not, the effects never quit, they're her's forever." Addison said and she went pale then at the remark. "And clearly we added another one, I was last to be woken up, first him, then you and then me, Dad is Picard, the guys Worf, Data and Geordi, me I'm Wesley, so where does that put you."
"She's an Goa'uld version of Etana Lol." Daniel said and she started shaking in fear. "Remember, he said try Area 51, who was reassed there last year, after the beta gate went missing?" he said and Jack started shaking in fear, realizing his words were enough to have him committed then. "Ooh good catch there now, in truth here." Owen said to this then. "Of all the team leaders to lead the charge, to come get us, it's the other traitor."
"Persecuting me for the same thing your boyfriend is." he said sternly to her and she started shaking at that. "It was never Shyla, it's always been the red headed bitch, that left me so severely traumatized. I never got over it, only it's not her, it never was, why I take my gun to him now and blew out the lamp, in a warning shot last year." he said and she backed away from him, shaking then. "You caught her." Liam said sternly to this.
"You just pretending it's the sarcophagus on purpose, after your act nearly murdered 75 people?" he asked and she started shaking in fear then. "Yeah she knows she's screwed now, she's only wanting you incarcerated just to protect herself here now." Catherine Zeta Jones said sternly and Taylor nodded sternly then. "The serum was set to Pyrus himself, it wasn't the sarcophagus, but the serum, he deserved his last happy weeks with me."
"But she and I already decided, if not marriage, then being consort is for the best, I'm her best friend, she needed me, and you murdered her father now." he said and she backed into the wall, shaking. "Game over Captain, I'm a Commander now, you had a chance to let this go, but no. You didn't and now you join their ranks, arrest Captain Carter and Dr. Frasier now!" he shouted and the orderly that came with Hancock then.
Immediately grabbed her by the arms and yanked her against him. "As for you, you bastards, anyone could be the host, blood tests now, check for it. The pheromones, anyone of you, involved in the rescue, better show it." he said and they paled at that. "In my brother's words, whoever of you that came on that mission, to save us, you better show me a clean set of bloodwork, or you're eating a bullet." he said and they swallowed.
And hard at that remark, realizing he wasn't allowing a soldier or marine touch him, as he exchanged looks with Warren, Parker, Lou and Anna and they. And Teal'C, surrounded him and their fathers all crossed their arms. "Dad, rephrase that in my book self's words right now." Thal said to him quickly and Sutherland crossed his arms and she swallowed hard at that. "There it's out finally, his words, in literary form took on a whole new meaning."
"Anyone comes near him, they better show a clean record. And in blood work, or they're taking a bullet. To the stomach, which is the same as saying, as we were in our 20's in 1958. Anyone comes near me, they better show a bare back, or they're being burned here." Sutherland said sternly and she swallowed hard. "She's convinced he would never do it." he said, without taking his eyes off her and she started shaking violently in fear.
"We're the stars of the movie dad, you were the only one able to countermand my training, as a secret agent, because you were my instructor." Thal said, keeping his eyes on her, and Sutherland nodded. "Dave, you, Jared and Annie get behind me, now, Lou you too, now." Daniel said and she swallowed hard at that remark then in fear then. "Dad, you got your reasoning finally, it's not over, even now that she's dead, it never stopped."
"They're her's forever." he said and Hammond nodded sternly. "Last night was enough to make me completely afraid of this bastard, and she only made it worse.
