Chapter 12
Donatello was nervously tapping his foot on the elevator floor as he looked over to Ruby. He'd had to swat at her hand when she tried pushing every button on the way up, as he sighed. He understood her nervousness, however, as he felt the exact same way. He almost wanted to just have the elevator keep stopping as it rode up, almost as if the distraction could indefinitely delay the inevitable. Last night had been...rough. He'd stayed with the general for a while, Ruby alongside him, as they debriefed about what had happened. Donnie had wanted to get a look at the CCTS servers, after all someone who had physical access to the actual main servers was something not even the strongest cyber-security could guard against, but given the circumstances Donnie didn't want to look even more suspicious to Ironwood. He did find the general pleasant to be around, and after the questioning the pair had been allowed to return to their dorms. It'd been a long night though, and Donnie had to explain it all to his brothers. So a long night was even longer, and now he had an early morning. Not to mention the later missions they had to sign up for, on top of their secret mission, and overall things were starting to build up.
The elevator dinging almost made the turtle jump as he looked at Ruby. The smaller girl smiled and pat his shoulder, as the two walked in. They found Ironwood standing on one side of Ozpin's desk, Glynda on the other, and the headmaster himself sitting between them. Although they put up a professional appearance as the duo walked in, Don could feel the tension in the room so thick it was almost impossible to walk through.
"Thank you two for coming. I understand it's been quite the day for you both. Are you two doing alright?" Professor Ozpin asked with concern as Donnie looked down at Ruby then back to the three, almost swallowing at the intimidating sight of three of the most important people in the world staring at him. It was almost like that time they'd found the President, although at least here Ironwood isn't trying to dissect him.
"I feel we're doing fine, thank you. It's certainly not what we expected." He explained as Ruby piped in.
"Yeah...and hey we almost caught her too, so I mean...my bad guy catching record is getting better soon, right?" She asked, trying to add some humor in. The stern look of the three was enough to keep Donnie from face-palming like he was so close to doing. Ruby was lucky she wasn't Mikey, as she caught the four's expression. "Okay, so that's the tone we're going for, got it."
Fortunately, General Ironwood walked forward towards the two to salvage this meeting.
"Donatello, Ruby, I feel it's appropriate to let you know that I think what you did last night is exactly what being a Huntsman and Huntress is all about. You recognized a threat. You took action. And you did the very best you could, even stopping her from what she was doing as we can tell." He said. "Even if she wasn't caught, you should consider last night a victory, or at least a defeat for the enemy."
"Ah...thanks, uh sir." Donnie said, catching on to him referring to the woman as "the enemy". Now given she attacked his troops and was doing something to the CCTS, calling her an enemy made sense. But...it also stuck out in the brainiac's mind. Of course Ozpin then caught his attention and brought him back into the now.
"Now, the general here has already informed us of the events that...transpired last night, but now that you've rested, we were wondering if you had anything to add." He asked, but Glynda spoke up immediately, decidedly...less subtle.
"Was anyone else with her? Did she look familiar to you at all?" She quickly asked and Donatello shook his head.
"Nah, I can't say I ever saw her. She seemed to be fighting with glass of some kind, at least her swords and bow looked like that." He said and Ruby piped up.
"They were glass, but her clothes lit up whenever she did something, so I don't think it was her Semblance. She also didn't say anything and had a mask on." She added, Donnie nodding to confirm. Glynda turned to look at Ozpin, thinking aloud.
"Save for the glass, that sounds like the woman I fought the night we met the brothers here and Ruby." She said in thought, but Ironwood seemed to dismiss it.
"Embedding Dust into clothing is an age-old technique. It could have been anyone." He said, and Donnie had to agree. From his research into Dust, everything she did seemed to show a mastery of Dust usage, so she was clearly an experienced warrior. He'd only ever seen Weiss make better use of Dust. But then Ruby spoke up, and this seemed to get her gears rolling.
"Wait. You think this girl is connected to Torchwick and the White Fang?" She asked and Donatello looked down at Ruby. This...would make sense. The robberies and attacks they...they were clearly in the service of something bigger. Roman may be a two-bit criminal, but the White Fang were fanatics, ideologists. They wouldn't be stooping to petty crime, even if it'd been months since they stopped, just to get some money. Especially working with a human like Roman. And if she was aligned with them...
"It's possible." Ozpin said, but Donnie saw him look at Ruby, who was clearly thinking the same thing he was. Donnie had to admire the young girl, while on the surface she reminded him a lot of Mikey, when she got serious and was thinking she could be as crafty and cunning as Leo. "But we still lack the required evidence to link the two together." Ozpin said, and Donnie noticed Ironwood looking between the two, clearly telling there was more going on.
"Actually, I...I think I remember her saying something about a hideout, or something, in the southeast. Just outside the Kingdom." Ruby said casually and Donnie caught the smirk on Ozpin's face as she said that...and she was clever. Sure it was a contradiction, but if it got the information they already knew out there...
"Interesting." Ozpin said to himself.
"Yeah and uh...I thought I heard her talking about moving something or another from an empty warehouse that way." The turtle added, Ruby nodding. Glynda tried to speak up, questioning the contradiction of the assailant not saying anything, but Ozpin interrupted her. Donatello could tell Ozpin knew what was going on.
"Thank you for your cooperation, both of you. Why don't you two go and spend some time with your teams? You have a big day ahead of you. I just ask that you two be...discreet about what was told. It is an ongoing investigation." He said.
"Of course. Thank you again, and we're happy to help." Donnie said as the pair walked into the elevator. Once inside, Ruby let out a long breath of air, leaning back on the wall. The turtle smiled and pat her shoulder.
"Honestly, that was some smart thinking you had there." He said as the elevator began to go down.
"Are you sure? I mean, Ozpin seemed to get it, so...you know, hopefully they can both be dealt with." She said as Donnie nodded.
"Yeah. You know, you reminded me a lot of my bro, Leo." He said with a grin at her. "I can definitely see why you were made leader. It's something in you two that you both share, something not in most people. Certainly not me."
"Oh stop it, I-it was nothing." Ruby said with a smile as Donnie nudged her playfully. As the elevator crawled closer to the bottom floor, she looked up. "You know...I like your guys' plan. You intend to go after them, and I think we should to. And we have our first real missions today, so it could be a chance."
"A chance? For what?" Donnie asked, the elevator door opening as he pair began walking out of the elevator.
"Well the way I see it, we have two teams who know that something is up. If we take missions in the south-east, or the warehouse district, we'd have the perfect chance to do some investigating. See what's really going on." She said as Donnie rubbed his chin. The two walking closer to their dorms.
"You know, I think this would be a good idea. Okay, I'll bring it up with my brothers, and we'll see. Maybe we'll check out the warehouse?" He offered as Ruby nodded.
"Right. And we'll check out the south-east." She said as Donnie nodded. He grinned and raised his hand, giving her a high-five.
"Sounds like a plan." He said as they separated. Donnie turned to the dorm and opened it, walking in. He saw his other three brothers, Leo, Raph, and Mikey, all staring at him then quickly getting up.
"Donnie, good to see you! So, did it all go okay? Did they get anything useful?" Leonardo asked him, as Donnie chuckled.
"I think it went great. And well...me and Ruby thought up a plan, and I think we should go for it."
The four brothers found themselves walking into the auditorium. Leonardo smiled as he saw Team RWBY standing there as well, and he led his brothers over to the four, as Ruby smiled and waved at them, Yang grinning with a hand on her hips.
"You made it!" Ruby said eagerly. "Oh uh...I mean, you kinda had to, but...anyways nevermind. Did Don tell you guys about the plan?" She asked and Leonardo nodded.
"Right. It sounds like a good plan in theory, but we'll have to be careful. We're first years, so we'll have a professional keeping an eye on us the whole time." He said, Yang scoffing.
"Oh please, I bet if we can pull it off then surely you guys can. Like...you guys are literally ninjas." She chuckled.
"Be that as it may, we should still be careful. These are professionals with a history of doing this, so we need to be on our guard." Leonardo said.
"Besides uh...I remember we have quite the terrible history of sneaking away from our sensei." Mikey piped up, but then they heard Glynda calling for everyone to be quiet, as Professor Ozpin stepped up to the microphone.
"Today we stand together, united." The professor began his speech. "Mistral. Atlas. Vacuo. Vale. The four Kingdoms of Remnant. On this day, nearly eighty years ago, the largest war in recorded history came to an end."
"Oh boy...history." Michelangelo mumbled to himself as Donnie allowed a quick eye roll before becoming entranced by the speech.
"It was a war of ignorance, of greed, and of oppression. A war that was about much more than where borders fell or who traded with whom, but about the very idea of individualism itself. We fought for countless reasons, one of which being the destruction of all forms of art and self-expression. And as you are well aware, that was something many could not stand for."
Michelangelo gave a yawn and stretched his arms, looking to the side at his brothers.
"Great, so are we gonna get to the point soon, or…?" Mikey whispered as Raph hissed back.
"Shut it Mikey."
"As a result, those who opposed this tyranny began naming their children after one of the core aspects of art itself: color. It was their way to demonstrate that not only would they refuse to tolerate this oppression, but neither were the generations to come. And it was a trend that is held to this very day."
"Huh...funny coincidence for us, huh?" Donatello whispered to his brothers as Leonardo shrugged.
"You know...that is kinda funny. Even if no one here would get it." The eldest responded quietly.
"History's lame enough, we don't need art history on top of it." Mikey, meanwhile, mumbled.
"I told ya brainiac, shut ya yap! Last time!" Raph hissed again.
"We encourage individuality, expressionism, and unity through diversity. As I have said, today we stand together, united. But this bond cannot exist without effort. Which is why today, while the rest of the world celebrates peace, Huntsmen and Huntresses will work to uphold it. As first year students, you will be tasked with shadowing a professional Huntsman or Huntress on a mission. Some of you may be taken out of the Kingdom for several days. Others may work within the walls for the rest of the week. But no matter which path you choose, remember to be safe, remember your training, and remember to do your very best." With that said, Ozpin left, leaving the students to it.
"Oh great, so what, the superheroes here gotta do all the work while they have all the fun? What kinda fun, quirky school is this?" Mikey said, then gasped as his bandanna was yanked back and he felt a smack...then another, and a third. He looked back to see his Raph, narrowing his eyes, Donatello shaking his head, and Leo rubbing his temples.
"Look...we have our mission now, so let's just get to it. Come on, let's see if there's anything at or near the warehouse district." Leonardo said as he and Raph walked past their youngest brother sorely rubbing the back of his head.
"Raph did warn you." Donatello said as he also walked past him, causing the orange-wearing turtle to stick his tongue out at his brothers before falling in line.
As the four made their way to the mission-boards, they found Professor Ozpin making his way over towards them, so Leonardo stopped with them.
"Ah, Professor." Leonardo said as the professor gave a warm smile that hid the tiniest hint of mischief.
"Ah yes, the four brothers of Team LMDR. I know this is highly unorthodox, but you four never were the types to follow traditional conventions, are you?" He asked them, taking a sip of his hot drink.
The four looked at each other with a hint of confusion, before Leonardo looked back up.
"Er...Professor-?" He started but was interrupted.
"It has come to my attention that a potential assignment only recently came in. It wouldn't be on the boards yet, but I have the strange feeling you four would be heading for it anyways. In the warehouse district." He said, and the look of surprise and mild embarrassment on their faces only made Ozpin's very slight grin barely grow.
"I thought so. Now, how about we make this little side-trip of yours official. I'd be needing to send a Huntress that way anyways, so why not give her some additional back up." He said with a grin, pulling out his Scroll and tapping on it. The four brothers looked at the nearby Mission Board suddenly display a new mission, then their team name flashed on it.
"Well...can't say this is what I was expecting." Donatello admitted as Raph crossed his arms.
"Some ninjas we are." He mumbled as Leonardo turned to Ozpin.
"Well...I have to say, thank you Professor. I promise, we'll accomplish the mission like you said." Leonardo said confidently.
"I'm sure you will. However, do take care, and do not thank me." The professor stated, his tone turning much more serious. "As I'm no doubt you're aware, things are not as they seem. A mission like this may hold great significance...or great peril. While I can tell you have seen your share of dangers, you must be ready to listen to your Huntress. She is leading this mission, and she can send you back at any time, and she was chosen specifically to be hard on you. There is much at stake here. Good luck." The professor stated, then walked off.
"Ooookay...anyone else kinda freaked out about that?" Mikey said as the four started walking out towards the exit.
"Ah don't listen ta him. He don't know all the crazy as shell things we been through." Raph waved his hand casually.
"Hmm...I don't know." Leonardo said, having been thinking of what he said. "While you're right...he didn't seem to think we are new to this."
"Yeah well, we helped save the world plenty of times, we'll be fine!" Mikey said with a grin, before they saw Team RWBY.
"Hey, how'd it go? You guys get a good mission?" Leonardo called out as the eight met up.
"Oh heh...yeah, actually Ozpin kinda helped us out with that." Ruby said as Mikey grinned.
"Funny, he did the same with us. That guy totally knows what's going on I gotta say...so we're almost like secret agents!" Mikey said with a grin as he gave Ruby a thumbs up.
"Isn't that a bit dramatic?" Weiss said, placing her hand on her hips as she rolled her eyes.
"It's Mikey, when he's not being dramatic give us a call. It's something serious." Donatello informed the ice queen as Leonardo turned to look at Blake.
"We made it to the Warehouse District. The information we got says it'll be pretty late, early tomorrow morning. Looks like infiltration." He said as Blake nodded.
"Well, at least the best team for that was picked." She said. "We're heading outside of the kingdom, heavy Grimm presence."
"Well, good thing you got your rest, huh? Don't wanna fall asleep on a Grimm attack." Leonardo said with a smirk as Blake rolled her eyes some, but had a tiny hint of a smirk on the edges of her lips.
"Please, like she'd even be able to stay awake when I'm around kicking monster butt!" Yang said with a smirk, pumping her fist in the air while Raph grinned.
"Almost gotta say I'm jealous. So tell ya what Yang, ya dust twice as many Grimm as ya can fer me, gotcha?" He said as Yang smirked.
"Pfft, I'll have to do triple if I wanted to make up for the both of us." She said and the two fist-bumped each other.
"Good luck, and maybe crack a few skulls for me." The blonde bruiser said.
"Ya, well if I get my way, I'll be sure ta do that." The hot-headed turtle replied.
The four teams split up, and Leonardo opened up the mission.
"Alright, we have our mission. We're going to be meeting up just at the landing pad riiiight here." Leonardo said, but on looking up, his eyes widened.
"...Oh you've gotta be kiddin' me." Raph muttered as they saw the single woman standing on the landing pad, her eyes narrowed at the four.
"Well, it seems you decided to take your time getting here. We may be leaving very early tomorrow morning, but we need to go over the plan now. This kind of tardiness will not be excused."
"Ah...we're sorry, Professor Goodwitch." Leonardo said slowly as the four brothers looked up at the blonde haired assistant to Ozpin, her arms crossed with the riding crop she prominently used. "We were just seeing our friends off on their mission as well."
"So you decided to make them tardy on their mission as well." She said, then sighed and took a breath. "This is your first mission as Huntsmen, and it must be treated with all the seriousness that implies. And this is not a normal mission as you all know. If we are correct, the people we will be investigating have had a significant and profound impact on this Kingdom. The Dust robberies, the attack on the CCTS, and much more."
The brothers looked to each other and they nodded, standing in a line as they faced Glynda.
"We understand. And we'll be happy to follow you into battle and stop this threat." Leonardo said, and for her part Glynda's eyes softened by the tiniest bit, even if her lips had not moved from the near permanent scowl.
"Good. Now we'll be heading to the warehouse tomorrow morning at 2:30 sharp. And you four will be leading the charge."
The next morning, with the sky still black with only the shining stars and the shattered moon to light the way, a lone Bullhead took off from Beacon's landing pad, flying its way to the city of Vale, flying low.
The previous evening, the turtles had gone over the plan with Glynda. At its most basic, it seemed simple. They'd narrowed down the warehouse to go to, one of the larger warehouses that was far from the rest of the city, yet despite its size it had yet to be purchased. Some local workers had noticed some odd trucks enter it on occasion, yet they never saw anyone exit or leave unless in the trucks. They'd figured some local crime bosses were using it and so hadn't risked reporting it.
Once the group came to the warehouse, the turtles would infiltrate the warehouse. They'd look for any evidence tying it to Roman Torchwick, the White Fang, or anything suspicious. Once done, if they did they would try to extract any information they can, and leave. They'd regroup with Glynda, who would then do the heavy lifting of bringing the warehouse down, with the brothers assisting in arresting anyone there.
"Are we all clear?" Glynda called out to the brothers, the side door of the Bullhead open, her small cape fluttering in the heavy wind as she looked out to the four brothers.
Their bandannas were also fluttering as they nodded at their Huntress in question.
"Personally, I feel that this mission is extremely dangerous, especially with you four. In fact had it been up to me, things may be different. But Ozpin is putting his faith in your stealth abilities, so I will do the same. But the second any of you are seen, or if any alert is raised, you are to contact me immediately and get out. If we are going to get in a fight, and if this place is compromised we will, then we will do it together. Am I clear?"
"Yes, ma'am!" The four brothers said, as she looked out of the Bullhead.
"Your stop is coming up. We're a few blocks away. When you get out, make your way to the factory. I'll have the ship fly away then circle back around so that they don't catch on. Do your jobs!" She said, as the brothers nodded and looked out.
"Here's our stop!" Leo shouted and the four turtles leaped out.
"Heh heh, cowabunga!" Michelangelo shouted as they all fell down, rolling onto the roof of one of the warehouses. They kept running along the roof, Donatello looking over and watching as the Bullhead banked away.
"She's out, so we're on!" He shouted and reached into his famous bag of goodies, pulling out some goggles and slipping them on.
"We're coming up on the warehouse!" Leo said to his brothers, kicking off the roof and catching on the other warehouse building, swinging up and rolling into a sprint across the roof. He reached up to his ear, or more accurately the earpiece. "Professor this is Leo, can you hear me?"
"Copy, Leonardo. And the rest of your team?" She responded in their ears. Leonardo looked back at his brothers, all giving him a thumbs up.
"We're good to go." He confirmed.
"Excellent. Now I'll only contact you in an emergency, and you do the same. Don't compromise your cover unless needed, we can discuss your findings after."
"Copy that." Leonardo said, before turning off his earpiece and skidding to a halt at the edge of the roof they were on. Crouching low, his brothers soon joined him on the edge.
"Please...like she knows any betta than us on how ta stealth." Raph grumbled, as Leonardo sighed.
"Look, she's leading the mission and making sure we're on the same page. The only reason I don't do the same is because after all these years I've learned you guys won't listen to me regardless." He said with a slight teasing in his voice.
"Gotcha." Donatello said, having this whole time looking through the high-tech goggles at the warehouse. "Seems like security there, if there is any, is pretty basic. We could sneak in through the roof rather easily."
"Got it." Leonardo said, as Donatello reached into his bag and pulled out a rope and hook. He swung it around and launched it over the gap, on top of the building. He tugged it a few times to test the strength, then tied his end to a piece of piping.
Leonardo was first up, using hands and feet to climb across the gap on the rope, his four brothers joining him just behind. They swiftly climbed on the rooftop as Donatello opened up his bag.
"I got my hands on the blueprints for this building. While some modifications would have been made should this be a White Fang base, it at least means we won't be walking in blindly."
"Plus, not like they coulda made too many changes while still keepin' dis place a secret as well." Raph added as Donatello nodded, looking around and finding a skylight, but with metal bars placed over it.
"Guess someone really doesn't like the winter air." Mikey said as Donnie pulled out of his bag a torch.
"Well, may wanna look away for a bit."
Stockman sighed and grit his teeth as he rubbed his forehead as he sat at the work table. He had done miracles, turning this run down workshop into an automated miniature factory for tech that matched, no, surpassed even the might of Atlas, and what did he get in return? First he had Cinder's little attack dog recently arrived, keeping him on his feet, but then he heard those four brutes would be returning from Mistral. He thought they were supposed to be training fighters there, and they'd be kept an entire ocean away! On the bright side, when they arrived he'd have some warriors who could properly use his brilliant devices.
But really it was the attack dog, that Almiraj who was there that bugged him. Sure, Stockman had been the man who created him, turned him into the ruthless killer he was now, but he felt like the only reason Almiraj was there was to keep a blade to his back should things go wrong.
Of course it could be that he wasn't the sole creator, and that what also went into making him their silent weapon disturbed even the brilliant mind of Dr. Baxter Stockman.
Still, it had been a peaceful night and with Roman deep in those caves outside of the city, he could finally think to himself. And hey, maybe something would go wrong and that big-headed moron would get eaten by a Grimm or something.
Yeah...maybe tonight would be going his way.
"Through." Donnie whispered, carefully opening the glass window as the four brothers slipped into the warehouse opening.
They landed in the metallic beams near the ceiling and were surprised by what they saw. Instead of a big, empty warehouse they found some makeshift rooms built. And running between a number of the rooms were small conveyors, all sorts of equipment found on them. From their place looking down, they saw the familiar electric swords, as well as some strange guns.
And of course, patrolling around were the distinctively dressed members of the White Fang. Holding the electric swords or those new strange guns, they were patrolling around as some trucks were being loaded up with boxes.
"Huh...it seems we found ourselves their base." Michelangelo stated.
"Not just a base...this looks like a full on production facility!" Donatello said, eyes widened. "But...how? The lines seem near totally automated, few if any actual workers needed. Whoever made this had to be a genius." He said, looking down.
"Hmm...how about we get a closer look to find out." Leonardo said, pointing to one of the larger rooms that had some boxes stacked by it, but none of the conveyor belts entered. The four swiftly but silently slipped across the ceiling, deftly walking across the small metal bars crisscrossing across.
Down below one of the White Fang guards walked around the corner outside of the room, and didn't notice the shadow falling too him until it was too late.
Raph lifted up the unconscious Faunus and dumped him behind the boxes, as Mikey slipped into the room, seeing one of the guards in there, checking up on some of the stacked boxes. He felt a tap on his shoulders and a voice speaking up.
"Hey, so any Faunus can join the White Fang yeah? I hope I'm not too late for the complimentary cake." Mikey said as the White Fang guard jumped on seeing Mikey, before seeing the orange nunchuck swung around and smacking him in the face. His mask cracked and the guard fell to the ground with a groan. "So, no free cake?"
"Ah, you know you'd have too many you'd go sick. Besides, ya gotta watch ya figure." Raph said with a grin as they walked inside, but they didn't notice the slight shimmer in the light following the four inside.
"Hmm, looks like a processing place. Excellent, then it should have a manifest. And if it's digital, it can be connected to the rest of the system." Donatello said as he walked around and found a small computer resting on a table. "Jackpot."
Leonardo walked up to one of the boxes, looking at it cautiously. He reached back and pulled out one of his katanas and stabbed it into the box, using it as a makeshift crowbar. After some light exertion and grunting, the lid popped off and Leonardo looked inside.
"Hmm...this isn't good." He said, reaching in and pulling it out. It was one of the guns they'd seen earlier, but now with a closer look, it looked like one of the normal assault rifles the White Fang used, but the Dust cartridges were moved, with instead some linings along the side that seemed out of place.
"Hey Donnie, can you take a quick look at this?" He asked and placed the rifle on the desk Donnie was at.
The genius turtle turned away from the computer and took a look than widened his eyes.
"This...doesn't seem right." He said, and looked up at Leo. "Can I borrow a knife?" He asked, and Leonardo clicked on his katana, ejecting one of the kunai kept inside it. Donatello took it and made a small incision into the lining on the outside.
"What is it? Looks like some kinda weird sci-fi gun to me." Mikey said, while Raph was opening one of the other boxes, finding more of the fancy swords.
"Well...that's because it is." He said, surprised. "These help transfer energy Dust, but of a highly refined and advanced type. It...well basically, it's a blaster of some kind. Even Atlas tech is barely that advanced, incredibly rare on this small a scale. And there's a box full of them?"
"Which sounds pretty unusual for a small, non-national group like this to be mass producing something more advanced than the world's tech leader." Leonardo said suspiciously.
"You know, is it weird that the idea of a small terrorist group working outside of the law like the White Fang having access to weird advanced tech like this...is the most normal thing we could've seen?" Mikey asked. "I mean...how familiar does that sound huh?"
"Too familiar." Raphael said with narrowed eyes. In the meantime, Donatello had returned to the computer.
"Hmm...well fortunately it seems that their cyber security isn't up to par. Got a manifest right here and...well it looks like they've been shipping these weapons all over the place...possibly even to Mistral." He said.
"So the White Fang is armin' themselves fer war? All with tech more advanced than the rest ah the world."
"They're planning something. Something big." Leonardo said. "We need to call for Goodwitch, now. Let's get what we can, and get out, now."
But no sooner had Leonardo said that, he felt something hit him, sending a powerful electric shock all throughout his body, before feeling a swift kick to the gut sending him flying into the wall, smashing through a box of weapons.
The other three leaped up in a second, pulling their weapons free. They spun around looking and...saw nothing.
Baxter Stockman looked up as he saw a message appear on his computer.
"What? Intruders?" He said furiously and slammed his hands down on the desk. "You filthy, incompetent apes! Actual guard dogs would be better than the lot of you all!" He grit his teeth, standing up.
"Knowing my luck, it's probably some local Huntsmen. It seems Cinder's failed infiltration got them here, far too early." He said to himself, then looked over at the dark figure standing in the room. "Go take care of our unwelcome guests. And set the alarm. I need to prepare for getting my work out, so that we don't lose everything." He grumbled as the figure just gave a nod and swiftly slipped out.
"What the shell-" Donatello said, when he felt his arm yanked back, and a foot kicking him forward, sending him to the ground.
"Okay, are we seriously dealing with Techs now?" Mikey said, spinning his nunchucks around in a circle, before his feet were swept from under him.
Raph, however, saw this and leaped towards him, his foot kicked out and...yes! He connected, and in front of him, he saw one of the boxes rock and fall back.
Donatello grunted and lowered his goggles, swapping them to their settings. "Yep! Looks like it!"
"Guessing you didn't bring any of those fancy electric throwers, huh Don?" Leonardo said, standing back up with his swords drawn.
"Unfortunately no...and only one pair of goggles." He said, looking around. "And it looks like we got three guys here." He said, leaping forward, but then caught his staff on the ground to flip over the tech in front of him, landing behind the confused figure, and swinging his staff to take out his legs, and bringing it down on his face.
"Leo, left!" He shouted and Leo brought his blades up, feeling them connect.
The elder turtle ducked and swung his blades up, bringing the invisible blades up as well. He leaped up, keeping his blades on his enemy's to keep him in place, before swinging down and kicking the back of his invisible adversary.
"Mikey!" He said, and Mikey kicked his foot up and felt the invisible assailant grunt and fall down.
Donatello, meanwhile, looked around and found the last one and he had the yari-blade of his staff pop out and he stabbed it up, finding the White Fang symbol in a familiar place, and sure enough a brief electric shock outlined the figure, before he became visible. He looked down, clearly confused when a hand tapped him on the shoulder. He looked back to see a waving Raphael.
"Hi." He said, then swung his fist forward.
"Okay...things had always been different before, but now they're starting to get freaky familiar." Michelangelo said, looking down at the three comatose bodies. Before he could get a response though, a loud alarm began to be heard, and the four found the room became drenched in a deep, dark red as alarm lights are heard.
"Great! Now they all know!" Raph shouted, twirling his sais in his hands.
"Well I don't think any of us were expecting to run into something like that in a whole different universe!" Michelangelo shouted back, as Leonardo raised his hand.
"It doesn't matter! We stick to the plan and get out! We know this place needs to be shut down, and we rendezvous with Goodwitch! Come on, let's go!" Leonardo cleared up, and the four ran out, two guards meeting them there, only to be brought low by quick swings by Mikey's chucks.
"Professor, we've been spotted but we have big news! This isn't just a White Fang base, it's a full blown factory! They're making advanced weapons and sending them out to every branch of the Fang! They're prepping for something big!" Leonardo shouted into his earpiece, then raised a sword as a new guard ran in, swinging his sword down.
"What? This is...okay I'm on my way. Like I said, get out now, we'll meet up and take this place down together." Glynda responded.
"Copy that!" Leo said and leaped up, kicking the Fang member into a few others. "Come on, we have to go!" He said, and pulled out some smoke pellets, smashing them on the ground.
With the smoke coverage, the four brothers leaped up on the roof of the room, looking up to find a way back to the ceiling and climbing to the sky-light.
"Ya know, I really am startin' ta hate how familiar this is all lookin!" Raph said angrily.
But just then, they felt a weight crash down on each of them, sending them stumbling to the floor. The four groaned as they looked up and saw a peculiar sight. Standing in front of them was a figure in total black garb, with some tight, almost samurai-looking armor attached to his chest. He held two swords at his side, one Katana, one Wakizashi, with his grip on the former. Only two things could be seen through his full body coverage: red, piercing eyes that shone like a monster's, sending chills up the brother's back, as well as two jet-black, rabbit ears. Fitting, a Faunus warrior was here just as they tried to escape the White Fang.
"Well...there Raph, something new." Michelangelo said as the four pulled their weapons out, getting in a combat stance.
The new warrior just narrowed his pure red eyes, and slowly drew his katana.
Author's Note: So...it's been a very, very long time hasn't it? Well...my relationship with this fic has been a crazy one. For starters, things in my life haven't been the best for actually writing, and...well those circumstances have yet to change, but screw it. As for this, it's my first real attempt at making a fanfic, I went in with a clear goal, a reason why I started it. I was thinking of so many ideas at the time on how the Turtles would react to the Fall of Beacon. It was a simple idea, but one that would have a lot of background required. Then as RWBY continued, I wanted more and more to see how the Turtles would react to them too. Honestly, I even hated the idea of making an outline or planning much ahead, just planning on following the show with the turtles.
But as this happened, one of the most persistent complaints I had about this fic was that it was too samey. Now, while I don't completely agree, I can totally understand. I went in kind of needing it to be that way. It's why I left on Spacebattles with this fic and mainly kept it on Fanfic (although in the future I plan on changing that) and almost considered just not continuing it. But as time has gone on and I did my other fics, I had many, many ideas. Some I planned out ahead, many that are no longer occurring, but now I have a much more coherent plan, and find that more drastic changes can be interesting. So to those with those complaints I will say, things will stay small for a bit but well...butterfly flaps start out small, but in the future a hurricane will occur.
Also, apparently there is a fic out there inspired by this one, and doing a lot better at updating, so check out Welcome to Remnant, by CynderStudio!
Now, how about some answered questions:
"Steel Scorpion-
BTW for the turtles "semblace" are you going to give them their Ninja tribunal Acolytes powers?
Aura/Chi/ki/chakra are pretty much the same and their training with the ninja tribunal did show hem how to use their inner chi."
Without going into spoiler territory, there is some similarities, and the chi training is very useful when it comes to unlocking your Semblance, however I'm treating chi and Aura as generally different, at least enough that things won't be the same. At the very least, chi during that arc was essentially a magic boost that can allow numerous things, while a Semblance is just a singular power that is unique and possibly based on your personality.
"Guest-
I prefer Leo and Pyrrha together"
Heh heh...well about that, see...I'm not really much of a shipper, like...at all, but I feel like, again without getting into any spoilers well...I know RWBY can be...hardcore regarding shipping, and whether or not any shipping occurs (and it may not at all, it could be really close friends or whatnot, I won't say), I'd appreciate if no one comes after my head on a pike. Also, I'd like to remind everyone that any plans in regards to that I came up with years before even Volume 6 of RWBY, so regardless of any changes in canon, those are likely to stay, so I am not making any of these changes as a response to whether I like something or not in canon.
"Bloody Bigby-
Honestly if I had to choose anyone for Donnie to be with in RWBY, it would probably be Coco. Purely because I love the idea of a sexy badass chick falling for an unassuming nerd who's also a total badass. Or possibly Velvet, but that's for a whole other reason. And the two aren't too dissimilar anyway.
I know that this is meant to be the 2003 version of the Turtles, but is there any chance that in this version Miwa/Karai could be Splinter's daughter like in the 2012 version. That was honestly the best thing they did in that show. That and turning her into a snakewoman, because seriously, who doesn't love a snakewoman."
Again on the shipping front, see the above, although I'll also say (and again, please don't come after me), I'm not honestly the biggest fan of Coco or CFVY in general, so that's not likely to happen.
As for Karai, well I have yet to finish the 2012 series, and I doubt that'll change anytime soon, but no I won't be importing aspects of that series, at least not intentionally. As for Karai, I will say she won't be appearing in this fic. However, in the future depending on how things go, there is a small possibility that I will do something with her in a different story.
Also, I'd request that no one comes after those in my reviews. I'm not the biggest fan of the 2012 series, but everyone has their personal tastes and interests, so no need to attack others for them.
"Guest-
What about the other bad guys? are purple dragon and hun going to appear? is agent Bishop gonna appear too? and how he view remnant huntress and huntsman inferior to his supersoldier that will replace them one day? or utrom shredder returns, while it is conform he is alive there no doubt shredder in remnant too buying his time and establish his own clans."
Again, I'll not be giving any spoilers on who, if anyone else, is going to show up. I will say that in the years it's taken me to update this fic, I have had many different plans, thought of introducing some, discarded others, but now I have decided on that front, but I won't say who, if any at all.
