Chapter 6 First Prank of the Term
Alexander, Orion, Tom, Regulus and I are sitting under a tree with the black lake in front of us, we are chatting about subjects we do not mind being overheard. Ron starts making his way over to us and starts talking when he reaches us "you should have been in Gryffindor"
"Go away, you are only here to cause trouble," Regulus says
"Why should I listen to you Slytherins?" Ron snarls
"Because Professor Snape is making his way over here," I remark
"Yeah right like that greasy bat has left the dungeon" Ron retorts and is silenced when he gets smacked on the head from behind
"Thirty points from Gryffindor for bad-mouthing a professor" Professor Snape calls out Ron stalks away before professor Snape could add to that "What are you three up to on a weekend?" Professor Snape asks
"Relaxing outside on a good sunny day professor" Alexander answers
"Twenty points to Slytherin and Ravenclaw for inter-house friendships" Professor Snape voices and walks away we chat about the subject we were talking about before we make our way to the room of requirements so we can talk about what we want to talk about without being overheard.
"It's time we start preparing for the prank, how do we get on the good side of Peeves?" Orion stated
"I don't know if it's possible to get on his good side but we could ask Peeves if he wants to help with a prank," I suggested
"Good idea, which may work so since you suggested it would you mind asking Peeves the question?" Regulus asks
"I don't mind I'll ask him right away" I respond I leave the room and I walk through Hogwarts in search of Peeves. I wonder quite a bit through the halls of Hogwarts when I finally spot Peeves; I walk up to him "Hi Peeves, would you mind helping with a prank?" I inquired
"Mischief is what I'm about, I'm in" Peeves grins
"Well then do you want to come with me to my friends to go over the finer points of the prank?" I asked
"Lead the way" Peeves answered I turn around and I lead the way back to my friends with Peeves following me.
"So I take it you are willing to help us pull the prank Peeves?" Regulus asked
"I am, so what's the finer points of the plan?" Peeves confirmed
"Peeves what do you know about muggle items?" Tom asks
"Only what I've seen students bring in," Peeves replied we fill Peeves in on the basics of our plan and with Peeves contributing; we iron out the flaws in the prank so there is less chance of us being caught.
We are on our way to the library to work on the homework for our classes when Ron appears in front of us. "You trying to get more points taken from Gryffindor?" I quizzed
"You're a traitor," Ron growled
"Really? Just from the sorting hat placed me in Slytherin?" I smirked "now run along and try to bully someone else" I taunted he was about to say something else when we all noticed including Ron the teacher heading this way and Ron stalked off.
We continued on our way to the library but the teacher who turned out to be professor Flitwick stops us. "What was going on just now?" Professor Flitwick asked
"Well we were on our way to the library to work on our homework when Ron stopped us and called me a traitor just because the sorting hat placed me in Slytherin and was going to do more when he saw you approaching and fled before he continued to do what he wanted to" I explain
"Thanks for explaining, twenty points for house intermingling, another twenty points if you can add Hufflepuff and Gryffindor to your group" Professor Flitwick spoke and walked away.
"We should add Hufflepuff and Gryffindor to our group, it would annoy Dumbledore anyway," Alexander stated
"Yeah we should if only to mess with Dumbledore as I'm sure he doesn't want all the houses to be fine with each other, I'm pretty sure he wants all the houses divided by the way he encourages it" I mutter
"I agree with that, and then if Tom and Orion agree we will add Hufflepuff and Gryffindor to our group," Regulus voiced
"It's a good idea and I am for messing with Dumbledore" Orion Exclaimed
"I agree to help but finding a Hufflepuff and Gryffindor who wants to hang out with us is going to be a challenge" Tom commented we continue making our way to the library chatting all the way there.
When we got to the library, we worked on our homework after finding and getting the books we need to complete the homework. It did not take us too long to finish our homework and when we were finished, we put the books away, put our homework in our bags, and start heading to the great hall for lunch.
"Looks like Gryffindor is trying to distance themselves from the bushy-haired girl, why do you think that is happening?" Orion asks
"I overheard her talking to another Gryffindor student as they were talking too loudly that the Gryffindor student was doing it wrong in her know-it-all's voice, from what the other Gryffindor students are saying she's isolating herself from everyone from her know-it-all attitude" I inform
"She should have known what was going to happen if she kept acting like she knows everything" Tom commented
"If she wants to make friends then she needs to severely tone down her attitude," Regulus stated
"part of the problem is that she thinks everything she reads is correct, she corrects everyone when she thinks they are wrong, she's even started to correct some of her professors" I comment
"Really?" Regulus wondered
"Yep, I've seen her do it to both a fellow student and a professor" Alexander affirmed
"Wow, no wonder she's being isolated so much" Orion commented we chat about various safe topics while we finish eating our lunch. We walked through Hogwarts chatting about various topics and we had yet another encounter with Ron that went on very much like the previous encounter with him.
When we were sure that the other students and a good portion of the staff are asleep, we slowly and carefully made our way to the great hall to set the prank up. Once everyone was here including Peeves we started with the doors leading to either inner rooms or other ways out of the great hall and when they were all sealed we left the great hall and held the doors open to watch Peeves seal off the only door left in the great hall. We thank Peeves for the help with the prank after he floated through the saran wrap.
Slowly and carefully, we crept back to our rooms in our separate common rooms and we hid whenever we heard a noise. I let out a sigh of relief as quietly as I could once I was alone in my dorm room. I changed my outfit to one to sleep in and I go to sleep excited to see how the prank goes.
