A/N: Just a fun/nice idea I had about Spacekru being a happy family at the start of Season 5 and how things would change going into Season 6. If I make it to Season 7 it will be a complete rewrite because I didn't care for the final season as much as the others. Let me know your thoughts! Kind/Encouraging reviews only please and no Becho hate. Your entitled to your opinion but this is a hate free zone xoxo. I own nothing except my edits/additions
(Trig will be in Italics)
Bellamy looked through the window down at the radiated covered earth. A home he thought he could have before grounder wars and killer AI threatened and took it all away. He knew it wouldn't be forever, in years time they would be back down reuniting with family and friends. But it was hard to accept at first because it meant accepting the one who saved them was gone. They were safe all thanks to...Clarke.
Raven walked over to stand next to him and looked out through the window with him.
"She saved us again.." She said breaking him out of his thoughts. He glanced at her a moment before staring out the window again.
"Think we can do this without her?" Raven asked, sharing in the pain of having to leave a friend behind. Someone who had saved them more than once.
"If we don't, she died in vain. And I'm not gonna let that happen." Bellamy replied with a small quiver in his voice but mostly confidence. He knew he needed to step up now more than ever to keep everyone on track and help ensure they lived long enough to get back to the ground. To make sure they deserved this extra chance they were given thanks to Clarke.
"You with me?" He asked her looking at her again.
She looked back and after a moment her own confidence took over as she said, "Always."
6 Years and 7 Days Later
Bellamy woke up to an empty room. Echo no doubt already up and sparring with Raven. He was happy to know that over the past six years she had really grown and become a part of the group. Spacekru as she called it. The training she offered everyone was a good way of getting their daily exercise in besides just running laps around the Ark. It also kept their senses sharp, who knows what would await them on the ground again and if they ever needed it, then they knew how to defend themselves.
Monty never cared much for the physical activity and stayed close to the algae room. Harper on the other hand was happy to learn at least the basics. Murphy stuck with it for a short while before he ended up staking his claim on the other side of the ship. Bellamy and Raven were the only ones who kept it up regularly. Emori was more happy to learn from Raven about the tech they had and becoming her protégé, having grown up mostly in the wastelands they knew she was more than capable of taking care of herself.
After taking a minute to fully wake up he finally pushed himself out of bed, got dressed and made his way to the main room where besides their own rooms, they've spent almost every moment of the day either eating, hanging out, or working.
His assumptions were right as he saw Raven and Echo circling each other, trading punches and grabs at each other. Nothing to cause any serious harm to one another but just enough force to toughen the other up. Bellamy watched them a moment before making his way past Emori who had been at the radio no doubt all morning listening for any signs of activity on the ground, and over to the window to stare at the green dot of land that had appeared to them only a year ago as the atmosphere slowly started to clear.
The sounds of Echo and Raven started to drown out as he got lost in thought staring down at the planet. Wondering about his sister and if they were ok down there. How everything looked and if they were surviving ok. He wished more than anything that he could just see her once, to know that she was safe.
"Soups on." Monty called as he walked in carrying a tub of their meal for the day. The same meal they'd eaten for six years and everyone was tired of eating at this point. It was just enough of a distraction to Echo for Raven to get the upper hand and pin her to the floor. Her legs wrapped around her and pulled on her right arm. Echo struggled for a minute before hesitantly tapping Raven on the leg to say she yielded.
Raven laughed with a "Finally!" before rolling off her back and standing up with a look of victory across her face.
"Come on, I let you win so we could eat." Echo defended as she followed to the table.
"This isn't eating it's surviving" Harper commented as she came up behind them bringing the bowls.
"Hey" Monty interjected, "the new and improved triple G tastes better and you know it."
"Mom!" A young voice happily cried out, and within seconds was followed by running feet that flew into Echo's arms.
She caught him with a smile and held him in her arms. "There you are. Did you have fun learning with Harper?" She asked as she joined the rest of the group. Bellamy telling Emori to come join them as he too made his way over and made space for her next to him.
The boy nodded, "I learned about plants. What are good ones and what are bad ones." He explained with a smile.
Harper smiled at the two as she handed out the bowls. Echo set him down before sitting down at her seat and told him, "Go sit next to your father." The boy walked over to the other side of the table and sat on the other side of Bellamy who leaned down and placed a kiss on the top of the boys semi-curly head. A trait he got from him no doubt.
"Triple G?" Echo finally asked joining the main conversation.
"He calls this one Green's Green Goop." Harper explained as Monty began filling the bowls.
"Better name too" Monty added proud of the name.
"And if by better you mean doesn't want to make you violently hurl then yea, its an improvement." Raven joked.
Monty looked toward the window as he finished handing out everyone's rations. "Speaking of green, how's Eden?" He asked referencing the green dot they'd been monitoring.
"Still just a dot." Emori said as she explained how she'd still be trying to get the radio to work.
Raven sighed as she said once more, "I told you, atmospheric radiation blocks radio signals. They're down there we just cant hear them."
"Well we waste our time so they know there's a place they can live." Bellamy replied crossing his arms.
Raven stared at him as her tone went flat, "Ground radiation has been survivable for a year now, they can live everywhere."
After a moment of tense silence Monty interrupted with, "Well I think we can all agree that green..is good."
"Yes he is." Harper agreed giving him a kiss before turning to the others and joking, "But this stuff still sucks."
Everyone smiled and chuckled in agreement before raising their bowls together in a 'cheers' motion and taking a sip. They all took their time swallowing before making their own noises of subtle disgust. Monty and the boy being the only two who didn't seem to mind it.
They went into light conversation with Raven agreeing to try again with the communication and giving their antenna outside a boost. Monty opened his mouth to help volunteer but Emori claimed dibs and joked about taking a spacewalk as she laughed at calling it first. They bantered back and forth before Bellamy chimed in again.
"Or we could just figure out a way to get to the ground, and we could tell them about Eden ourselves." His tone wasn't the nicest but he knew that after a year of knowing they could return and hadn't, he was anxious about getting back down. "Six years and seven days."
"Hey, time violation." Harper interjected trying to stop a fight before one could start. "Dishes, latrine, or Murphy you choose." Dishes or latrine were the usual punishment chore but since Murphy had distanced himself they added him to the list because they all knew how much of a jerk he could be and no one wanted to be the one to take care of him every single day.
Bellamy sighed as he regathered his thoughts and looked to Raven as he apologized. "I'm sorry. We said we wouldn't talk about it, and I know that your doing everything you can."
Raven nodded silently accepting the apology.
Bellamy took his bowl and held it out to Monty who smiled and filled it up. "Seconds?"
"Yea right," Bellamy said with a smirk, "I choose Murphy" Then took the bowl and stood up to make his way out and toward the other side of the ship.
Everyone watched him go, Emori made a snide comment about having chosen the latrines. After a few minutes Bellamy and Echo's son, Griffin, raised his hand with a hopeful smile, "I want more please."
They all laughed and Monty smiled gladly giving the boy an extra serving. Having only been born and grown up on the Ring the past four years, Monty's algae was the only food he'd ever known and never minded the taste as he slurped it down. Once everyone else was finished, Raven left to her room, and Emori went back to the radio despite what Raven told her about not getting through to anyone.
"Hey kiddo, why don't we help clean up and then we can go for a walk ok?" Echo suggested to Griffin who nodded and helped grab everyone's empty bowls before walking with his mom to the kitchen to wash them.
For awhile everyone went about with their own tasks. Monty went back to his room, while Harper joined Echo and Griffin on their walk and helped her teach him more about things on Earth. Echo was thankful for Harper and how patient and understanding she was while teaching him and answering his questions. Harper certainly had more motherly qualities than she did, but was still learning and grateful for the extra help. In the end it was a learning experience for everyone.
Same went for Bellamy. He never thought that helping deliver his baby sister when he was younger would prepare him for the day he had to deliver his own child. It was a rollercoaster of emotions when she first told him and then everyone else. They were already close and Spacekru was considered family, but in a way Griffin brought them all even closer.
The rest of their walk was interrupted when they heard Bellamy's voice echoing through the halls as he shouted for Raven and everyone else to meet back up. Together they all hurried back, wondering what had him so riled up and found him pacing shortly back and forth, Murphy standing off to the side. When they asked what was up he just pointed placing his finger on the window. They all took a step closer to try and see what he was pointing at and after a moment it was there, clear as day.
Another ship had come into orbit.
