A/N: I wanted Griffin's name to be a surprise for a later chapter, but found it hard to keep referencing him as boy or Echo/Bellamy's Son. More details on his name will come later if it isn't already obvious lol.

Everyone stood there in silence as they watched the ship out in the distance. Raven was quick to turn the lights dark so they wouldn't attract attention until they knew who they were and why they were there. Time continued to go by as they all thought to themselves, waiting for something, anything, to happen until Murphy finally spoke up.
"It's been hours, why are we still sitting in the dark? We should light up the ring and let them know we're here"
"Quiet Murphy" Bellamy responded. "First we find out who they are and then we ask for help."
"Raven?" He asked looking back at her at the radio station as she tried to get any kind of signal, explaining that their comms might be down.
Emori suggested it could be unmanned. Murphy then responded with a half-ass response of aliens who wanted to probe them.
"Murphy" Echo said in a warning tone as she picked Griffin up in her arms, his face looking nervous as he watched everyone reacting to what was happening. She gave a comforting kiss to his cheek and whispered that they were ok to try and keep him calm. The kid may have only been four, but thanks to those he was surrounded with he was a bit smarter than they gave him credit for and could feel that something was wrong.
"I'm just saying it doesn't really matter as long as they can get us down to the ground." Murphy finished saying as he walked over to try and turn the lights back on himself.
Emori came around and stopped him. "That's enough. We make decisions as a team here. Even if I can't stand the sight of you."
Murphy wanted to respond directly to her but knew that now wasn't the time for that. "Look all I'm saying is it wasn't there yesterday, now it's in geosynchronous orbit. That means someone is piloting it correct?"
"Could be AI?" Harper offered, the unwelcome reminder of ALIE all now floating through their heads.
Echo ignored them as she continued to watch the ship. Griffin still in her arms as he poked her then pointed his finger at the ship drawing her attention to what it was doing.
"Something's happening" She said right as she saw it, drawing all of their eyes back to the window.
They all gathered around once more to see a smaller ship detaching from the main one and lowering down toward Earth.
"That must be a transport. It's headed for the ground!" Raven thought out loud before moving into action. "Emori, fire up the radio."
"Now she wants to talk." Murphy grumbled.
Raven and Emori shuffled around at the radio as they flipped switches. Raven put her headset on as she spoke into the mic.
"Mayday, Mayday. I am hailing the dropship now on re-entry to Earth. We are stranded aboard the space station to your West. Please respond." She spoke loud and clear, waiting for any kind of response. When nothing came through she tried again. Still nothing.
"What do we do?" Harper voiced everyone's thoughts as they stood around looking at each other, waiting for any kind of answer.
Bellamy looked at everyone in the room before locking eye contact with Raven. He took a moment before speaking up, "I think they are our best chance as of right now of getting down. We have to try and get over there."
Raven didn't like the idea, but knew that he was right in the end. They'd been trying to figure a way back down and now here was that possible solution. The only problem they all shared was how to determine if they were friendly or not.
"What if they're not good guys? What if they choose to blow us up or hold us prisoner?" Monty asked knowing they were hard questions. After landing back on the Ring, Monty was happy to be back in space. Was happy to feel somewhat safe again. After losing Jasper and his mother he didn't want to return to a hateful world. If he had to choose between staying in space or going back to the ground, it wouldn't be too hard a choice.
"Mom, what's going on?" The little voice in Echo's arms asked. Worried eyes staring up at her.
She set him down a few feet away from everyone and gently explained the best she could about how they might be able to finally get back home, their true home. But they needed to ask for some help first. She watched him closely to see how well he understood before he nodded. She suggested he go play with some of his toys while they finished discussing what to do. She watched him go before turning her attention back to the group
"What if this is our only chance of getting back down? I agree with Bellamy we should go." Harper gave her thoughts after listening to both sides.
"Is it going to be safe for him though? Has anyone ever done this with a child before?" Echo chimed in as she referred to Griffin, worry etched across her face as she thought about the possible dangers of a child inside a rocket.
They had to admit it was one part of the equation they didn't immediately think of. Looking to the boy at the end of the room with makeshift bobbles and toys that were made for him. One of those toys a teddy bear that had been left behind and found in one of the rooms when they returned six years ago. They all mulled over the danger themselves as they watched him a moment.
"Charlotte was sent down with us. She was only twelve but still just a kid, she made it down just fine. I'm sure he will too" Murphy said with slight reassurance, remembering the little 'murder child' who almost got him killed because he got blamed for Wells' death instead of her. He never much liked children, but wasn't afraid to admit the soft spot he had for Griffin. Especially after he had helped him with some pranks on the others not too long ago.
Raven had stayed silent until now. Running outcomes and different variables in her head. She knew they only had enough fuel left to get them there, but if the mysterious ship refused to give any, then they were stranded and done for. She looked to Bellamy who gave her an encouraging nod. Surely they had faced worse odds than this before.
"Alright. Let's do it."
Satisfied with her answer Bellamy took the majority vote and told everyone to start packing their things and to meet at the hangar bay. Echo took Griffin to their room to start packing. Raven made sure to give her the extra flight suit they brought and patched up. Echo suddenly glad that they chose to keep it and not leave it behind. Once the clothing essentials were packed she made sure to leave out a few of her things so that she could add a few of his toys. She knew it wasn't much, but hoped that with all the overwhelming changes happening it would provide comfort to him if he needed it.
Thirty minutes later and Monty and Harper stopped by, offering to walk Griffin to the hangar bay with them while she finished packing her own things. Griffin happily went with them and held their hands as they walked off, his voice fading down the hall as she could faintly hear him asking "Uncle Monty is there going to be snacks?"
Looking down at her sword she picked it up and held it, thinking back on the past six years and how all of that was going to change.
"Wouldn't it be easier just to step outside?" A voice said behind her, Bellamy. The exact words he said to her when they launched themselves up into space. Although she would never admit it, it was one of the scariest moments of her life. First being when she discovered she was pregnant with Griffin.
Giving a smile she turned to look at him in the doorway, but the smile faded quick as she questioned him.
"What are we gonna be now, Bellamy?"
Seeing the internal conflict she was having he moved over to her, set down the sword and looked in her eyes. "Nothing is going to change on the ground." He emphasized his words by pulling her in for a gentle and loving kiss.
"I wish that were true." She started but he interrupted her telling her he knew it to be true and how they've all kept each other alive.
"We're family and nothing can change that." He said softly. She gave a rebuttal of, "I'm still banished."
She pulled away with genuine concern, "What will that mean for Griffin? Banishing a child too because of who his mother is? He isn't ready for that kind of world yet. Maybe us going is a mistake."
"She wont. She will forgive you" Bellamy tried to counter but Echo was quick to remind him about almost killing Octavia when Azgeda had declared war on Skaikru.
"Your right..Your screwed." He said in a jokingly serious tone which caused her to laugh.
"My sister will understand. And if she's ok and alive-" He started to trail off, his thoughts getting the better of him as he started to worry again about what might be waiting for them when and if they got back down.
Echo shushed him softly, like she would do for Griffin when he was a baby and fussing in his sleep. She reassured him that his sister was indeed safe and ok.
"She'll forgive you." He repeated.
"Bellamy it took you two years." She told him with a raised brow.
"Well I'm more stubborn than her." He found himself joking again getting another laugh from her as he helped carry one of the bags. "Octavia will be the least of our worries once we're down there."
Together they were the last to arrive at the bay. Griffin coming over in his suit 5x his size to stand by his parents as they waited for Emori and Raven to finish the pre-flight check. Once they were all set, and Raven had finished attaching an extra belt to Griffin's seat, they all loaded in. After going over safety precautions and making sure everyone was secure Raven fired up the ship, Emori in the seat next to her helping with controls.
"Alright everyone, here we go. Launching in 10, 9, 8, 7...3, 2, 1."
