A/N: Number 2. After reading my first again, there were some typos still and the breaks between scenery didn't compute with upload. I also haven't figured out chapters, so bear with me as I figure this out, because this one will definitely need to be chapters. Rated hard tasteful M for sexual scenes and occasional swearing. Chapter 1: Prologue

When initially signing on with the CIA, they had told Kim that time off was spotty. In the beginning, it was pretty much non-existent. She had missions that lasted up to a few months off-grid. She missed so much. Birthdays, the twins' graduation, holidays, even funerals.

Ron and Kim broke up amicably not long after graduating, something they both didn't want, but saw coming. They were going in two very different directions; Kim with the CIA and Ron his own direction. Kim went through intense initiation training and was going on missions before she knew it due to not only her experience, but the lack of young female operatives available. As much as she enjoyed the experience and ultimately preferred it to regular college, it was quite isolating. No more school newspaper, homecoming committee, leading the cheer squad. And no more friends that came with it. She stayed focused on her training and found fulfillment in missions that really helped people all over the world, from rescuing and protecting diplomats to schoolchildren.

Ron had been accepted to a few low-level colleges. He took a few classes at the community college, but it just wasn't for him. He took what he needed from the classes and dropped out. It did not help that his girlfriend and best friend of years was suddenly MIA. She had moved on without him. He didn't get an offer from the CIA or FBI or any other department of the alphabet soup. He thought about joining the police department, but it just wasn't the same as being on mission with his best friend. As much as he didn't want to hold onto her, he could not help but write to her from time to time. Just to keep her informed, if she wanted.

Kim had found out from email that Rufus had passed. She felt a pain in her heart not only for the little guy, but that she couldn't be there for Ron. The worst was when she read an email from two months prior. Ron's dad had passed. It hit her like a bullet. She had no idea. She had been on location for months undercover off-grid. She finally got back to the states somewhere on the coast, checked in to a hotel before she would fly back home. She wanted to rush home, even though she was two months late. She tried calling her manager to see if there was an earlier flight but there was none.

Then she called her parents. She hadn't done so yet because it was so late, but she had to call as soon as she knew. Her mom picked up immediately; she was used to late night calls as brain surgeon. Kim was sure she had woken her up but her mom sounded surprisingly awake. Kim couldn't help but just cry into the phone. Her mom asked if everything was alright, if she was still coming home or if something had happened. She cried about Ron's dad dying and wanted to know how he was doing. Was anyone there for him? How was his mom? What else had she missed?

Her family had been there for his. Most of Middleton seemed to show up for the peaceful actuary's service. Friends and acquaintances from high school. Hell, even Bonnie made an appearance.

Ron had taken his father's death hard. It had been a few years since him and Kim's breakup. He had tried finding someone else, but had little success, and wasn't seeing anyone at the time. But it felt like it was all happening at the same time. He was working on his own projects, but he felt so alone in the moment. The attendance at his father's funeral actually made him feel a little better. And on an unrelated bright side, he was opening up his gym just a month after. He was the lead sensei teaching a blend of the monkey kung fu and ninjitsu, after he received blessings from his sensei and Yori. In fact, Yori had even helped him set up. They almost got back together, but she was just there to help him set up and had to leave to go back to Japan. They were on good terms. She was even thinking of opening up her own school or taking over for Sensei, so they spoke often about business via videochat.

After crunching the numbers, Ron decided he not only had a surprisingly amount of time on his hand, but could and should make more money. Martial art classes were mostly in the evening, as most people worked during the day. So, he decided to make money out his other passion, taking care of animals. He opened his own exotic pet store. He named it "Rufus's Exotic Pet Emporium". At some point, he planned on adding a veterinary service. But that would have to be via bringing in a partner. He wasn't going to vet school.

One day, around nine, a little after his last class ended, Ron was sipping tea at his desk. Before he was never a tea drinker. But he needed something to busy his hands besides water. For a brief stint after Rufus, then his father dying, he began drinking heavily. His mother found out and she was in hysterics. She called Mr. Dr. Possible, whom talked some sense into him, momentarily stepping into the shoes of his now gone father.

He checked his email, sorted through memberships and new memberships sign-ups. He crunched the numbers on his finances. As much as it would pain Mr. Barkin to admit it, Ron was not so bad with math. Perhaps something he inherited from his father. In a weird way, he felt closer to his father while running his business. He wanted his father by his side, enjoying this new venture with him, but he would have to settle for the ever-lasting battery calculator his father had given him.

He had taken his shirt and kimono top off to start on laundry. Ron sat shirtless typing and sipping his tea, staring at his computer. Suddenly, the door burst open. It scared the crap out of Ron. He would have yelled but instead he choked on his tea. He turned to the entrance of the dojo.

And there she was.

After all this time. There she was.

For a moment they stared at one another, as if they weren't expecting one another to actually be there. Kim's parents had told Ron she would be coming home soon. But he was busy and they had said that before only for plans to change last minute. And he wasn't sure how to feel about it anymore anyway.

She was soaking wet, having been rained on a few times between airports and it was raining hard now. Her eyes were wide open but she had dark circles under them, something that didn't happen to Kim easily despite her pale complexion. She exhaled as she first saw him.

Ron looked older. His jawline had formed stronger, although he was still clean-shaven. He was shirtless, still glistening a little with sweat. He had filled out more. He wasn't cut but had definitely bulked. Guess his focus on becoming a martial arts instructor had done him well. He couldn't train the kiddos in his classes about being healthy then go eat Bueno Nacho every night. He stood up suddenly, still taking her in. He was taller. How long had it been?

Without saying anything she ran to him. She jumped to hug him. He accepted her embrace. He was warm, tall, and filled out. She had thought about how much she had changed, but it was him that had changed.

"Oh, Ron." She said. "Ron I'm so sorry…"

He was still unsure about how to feel. He was angry, but he wanted nothing more on some nights than for her to come through his door as she did tonight. "Kim…Kim, where were you?" It was childish of him to spit out angrily but he couldn't help it. She couldn't just waltz in like nothing happened. Like she hadn't missed so much.

Kim sniffed and wiped the tear from her eyes. "Everywhere and nowhere. Out of the country, off-grid. But it doesn't matter. I'm so sorry I wasn't here when your dad died…and Rufus and everything!" She held his hands up. "I'm home for awhile…a few months at least. It's still early but I'm re-negotiating my contract. I-I can't promise anything but-" She looked up at him. He didn't want to get too excited. "I'm here now, at least for a little bit." Ron wasn't sure what to say. He wasn't angry but he simply didn't know what to say. Kim looked at him and looked around, still holding his hand. "Wow, you look great! And this place is great! And I want to see the store, Rufus's…" Again he said nothing. "If…if you'll have me?"

He hugged her and kissed her head. She was still Kim. A little older, more mature. Ron wanted her but couldn't get ahead of himself. After all, she may be gone in another month for another few years for all he knew. He wanted to take her on the mat, peel off her wet clothes and feel what it was like to be inside her now. But he couldn't do that to himself. If it was nothing but a one-time thing, he wouldn't get over it. And neither would she.

So what the hell did they do now?

"I think Bueno Nacho's is still open."

Chapter 2 – Christmas Day

A year and some change later they had indeed figured it out. Kim had temporarily re-negotiated her contract with the CIA so that she was home more, only gone for a month at a time, then home for a month. It still wasn't ideal for them, especially once they got engaged. So Kim made a transfer to the FBI. She would have only U.S. travel, and would be gone max one week at a time. For the most part, she now dealt with federal crimes in their home state, only occasionally traveling for special cases that required her expertise. She made one non-negotiable: She would be home for every holiday.

Ron's store and gym was doing well. His schedule was so much more flexible. So every time she was off he was off. And besides, Kim was home most nights anyway.

But things still weren't perfect. Things had been very busy locally at work for Kim. Apparently, wintertime was time to hide bodies in the snow. It was a long winter between hiding the bodies in first snowfall and finding them as the snow was either mitigated or melted.

Kim sat at the computer just off their living room. She sipped on cocoa and rubbed her eyes. She had put her foot down with her boss. She would be off on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. She had to be with her family. Family was coming up and down from elsewhere to see her. The twins would be home from college winter break. Her mother and father had enough tenure at their workplaces to consistently get Christmas off.

But Christmas wasn't so much the problem anymore. The problem was getting any other time off after that. No time to get married. "I don't know…maybe June but—ugh that's six months away!" Kim said. Almost to herself, but Ron was on the couch watching television, listening.

"I don't know, babe. I want to get married as much as you do. But honestly-what's the rush? We already moved in to the house." Kim shot him a look. She was not a prude but did not love the idea of just having him as essentially a boyfriend when they were living a married-couple life.

Suddenly, Ron had an idea. He stopped himself from blurting it out. What if he made it a sort of surprise? But first he had to see if their families would be on board with it. And if he could even pull it off.

Less than two weeks later, Ron had managed to pull it off. Their whole families were there, Kim had closed the deal on the dress, Ron had made a deal with the chapel to be open by giving a month's worth of free lessons to the owner's son and promising the service would be relatively short. They were getting married on Kim's favorite holiday, Christmas Day.

Surprisingly, Ron wasn't nervous. Not that this was simply a task for him. He was just relieved that he had pulled this off and that the day was finally here. Kim looked as beautiful as ever walking down the aisle. He saw what Kim was on about. She was all his now. No more worrying about frivolous things such as work doing them part.

They spent some time after the wedding with there now officially joined family. Now it was time to go home. Now it was time for Ron to take Kim as his own, his wife. Not his estranged former high-school girlfriend, not his fiancé. His wife. His mate.

As they walked in through the front door, Ron followed close behind, kissing Kim's neck. He was partially being genuinely affectionate and happy about their nuptials, but he also wanted to set in the idea. He was going to take her. There would be no more hesitation. And something she had promised him – for the first time, they would not be using a condom.

Kim was not a prude but still had hesitation about them having sex without protection. She had her career to think about, and quite frankly, he hadn't married her. So that was where she drew the line.

Ron did not actually know how it was going to feel, but knew that he wanted it, badly. He wanted to feel the skin on skin. He wanted to cum inside her. Kim was still on birth control, so she wouldn't get pregnant (at least there was a very low probability). But there was something primal about it.

In fact, Kim wanted to feel the new sensation too, albeit she had been told it wasn't that much different for women. But she had these primal feelings too. She wanted her husband to have her and cum inside her. Even though the possibility of getting pregnant was very low, on an instinctual level, she found this exhilarating. And the fact that he wanted this so badly.

He picked her up and carried her up the short flight of stairs to their bedroom. Ron practically pushed Kim onto the bed on all fours. He was so hard already, just thinking about it. He pulled her dress up and slid her panties down. He undid his pants quicker than ever before. Ron put himself inside her. She moaned. He was going to do her like an animal. But she looked so beautiful in the dress he felt no need to take it off of her.

He pumped and pumped inside her, his pants falling off his waist as he did so. He leaned over her, holding her waist from behind. Kim recognized the sounds he was making. He would arrive soon. Kim didn't even mind that it was a short romp. It was to be expected without the condom. They had the rest of their lives. Before she knew it, Ron came hard, dumping his seed in her. So that is what that felt like. It was a warm feeling. He wanted to do that to her so badly, she could feel it.

Ron sighed he did what he wanted, now he needed to recover. He could not be selfish for the whole night. The rest of the night was more playful, and a lot more naked. Just warm bodies rolling around in bed, pleasing one another. They weren't sure how many rounds they went of how much Ron unloaded, but who was counting?
