Welcome to the first part of my Atlantis Chronicles, part of my Prelude Series and my Long Series. :)

I have been waiting weeks to work on this fanfic series. Why? Because I like history and Atlantis has always been fascinating to me. So, the fact that I get to explore Atlantis and its culture, as best I can explore Atlantis' culture, is really exciting! :)

I also have the Disney movie, "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" to help me explore Atlantis' Culture, too. So, that's exciting! :)

So, now that I've said all this, let's get started. :)

Two sailors sailed their boat across the Mediterranean. Their boat was filling up with water. They looked at the boat, grabbing a bucket and pouring the water out of their boat. They worked quickly, hoping the water would stop.

It didn't.

"Keep working, Haddor!" the first sailor said, pouring the water out of the boat with their bucket. "We'll get this done in no time!"

"Whatever you… say," Haddor stopped, observing the island that stood close to their boat. Haddor couldn't stop staring at the island, even as he helped his friend with the water.

A vast island lay before them, its land not filled with crops. Haddor sighed upon seeing the island. Finally, they had a land where they could stop and rest, while they repaired their boat. Haddor and his sailor friend managed to reach the shallow part of the white sandy shore, before taking their boat to the shoreline.

"Do you think anyone's on this island?" Haddor asked his sailor friend.

"Let's find out," his sailor friend said, making their way to shore.

They were about fifteen meters away from the beach. So far, there was no one in sight, but a bunch of coconut trees, lush green grass, and the bright Sun in their faces. The land soon became hilly. There were grey stone cliff faces in every direction.

Haddor sighed. They had come to a valley that was ripe for harvesting. He smiled, wondering what else he might find here or whether or not this land was safe for them.

Haddor turned to his sailor friend, a man with a thin, muscular physique, who wore golden armor and brown sandals. They had both come from Greece and were on a sailing mission when holes started to form in their boat.

Haddor couldn't stand this! He turned to his sailor friend, who seemed ready to take on the island. Haddor gulped, knowing they were in danger.

"Shouldn't we head back?" Haddor asked, cautious.

"Look at this island! It's perfect," his sailor friend declared with honesty.

"Poseidon, please!" Haddor spoke up, causing Poseidon to look at him.

"You don't like it here? You will. You will be the first Haddock who ever swam these shores," Poseidon said, lifting his sword up into the air.

"But—" it was the last word Haddor ever spoke. The next thing he knew, his body transformed into a fish. Poseidon picked up his sailor friend, taking him straight to the freshwater. Poseidon wasted no time. He dumped his Haddock fish friend into the water, leaving the fish to swim away.

Poseidon grinned. He stared at the island, even as the Greek Gods and Goddesses repaired his boat. Poseidon shook his head, declaring to the island, "You are called Atlantis. That is the name you are given. Soon, more people will come and worship me. Just wait and see."

Yes, I know, the Haddock fish has an origin story after Atlantis. This is my own rendition of the origin story behind the Haddock fish, before Atlantis' fall. :)

Thanks for reading. More to come. :)
