before we begin, keep in mind of something...

I finally got my drawing tablet. With it I can make my own manga someday.

of course the question is, should I begin making manga, or should I try something else out for starters?...

I guess I could try out game development for starters, I mean, I sometimes dream of making games for fun.

I honestly don't know if I should be a game developer before becoming an manga artist.

but I guess it's a worthy challenge, right?.

anyway I talked enough, time to start reading the chapter.

it's a nice sunny day on the island of dawn island. The sun is shining. The birds are flying high in the sky. The wind blows peacefully today. A pirate ship has been at port since the morning of the day.

this crew of pirates, is known as the red haired pirates. They are a band of kind hearted people, who keeps the peace and joy on said island.

on this day, they came back from their latest journey.

hey, Luffy, what ya doing up there? Asked the captain of said pirate crew. His name... "red hair' Shanks".

I'm done being treated as a kid!. Today, I'm proving myself! Yelled young 7 year old monkey D Luffy.

hahaha!. Whatever it is, best not to do it. You shouldn't get yourself hurt, ya hear me Luffy? Asked Shanks smiling happily.

shut up!, I'm going to do it! Yelled Luffy. Just like that he looked at the knife he has in his hands.

just like that, he stabbed his left cheek, below his left eye.

OOWWWWWW! Screamed Luffy in pain.

WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!!! Roared the whole crew.

[Makino's bar]

to our latest journey! Said a crew member happily. And one for Luffy's dumb idea! Said another member happily.

the whole crew celebrating as always. The crew began drinking, eating, dancing and or singing together.

it... doesn't... hurt said Luffy trying to hide his tears of pain.

ya really need to learn to be smart kid, you almost lost an eye said Shanks.

I did it, to show I'm not afraid of pain. I can be a man to you know said Luffy trying to be tough.

not being afraid of getting hurt doesn't make you a man Luffy. It shows ya can still grow. I learned a long time ago that being unafraid doesn't mean your brave. It means you're willing to face anything at the given time. You need to learn, that not everything you face in life, can be solved alone said Shanks.

whatever, I just want to be able to be a pirate like you someday. I'm ready to join your crew, I been training. My fists are like two strong bullets said Luffy pridefully.

is that right? Asked Shanks sarcastically. What's that mean!! Asked Luffy angry.

he means your still a kid Luffy said Lucky Roo a member of the crew.

don't call me that!!, I'm not a kid, I'm a man! Yelled Luffy. Here ya go Luffy, hav3 some milk said Shanks giving Luffy a glass of milk.

thanks said Luffy happily. Just like that he drank the milk, leading the whole crew laughing.

I never saw a real pirate drink milk!, your still a kid laughed Shanks. That was a dirty trick! Yelled Luffy upset.

as the crew laughed, the doors to the bar get kicked off it's hinges. Then a group of bandits showed up. This caused the pirates to stop laughing.

as the bandits walked in, the leader saw the pirates. He smirked at them.

so this is a band of pirates?. What a bunch of weaklings said the bandit leader. Hearing this the pirates saw in silence as Makino stepped forward to the bandit leader.

hello, how can I help you sir? Asked Makino nicely. She was the owner of the bar.

we're bandits as you can see. We want ten barrels of your finest alcohol said the bandit leader as he looks at Makino with a grin.

sorry to say this sir, but we've just ran out today said Makino. This mad the bandit leader lose his grin.

I see. So what are these weak pirates drinking then? Asked the bandit leader. This got Shanks attention.

it seems we drank the whole place dry again boys. Sorry, but don't worry, this here is still unopened. Give it a try said Shanks smiling kindly.

seeing this the bandit leader pulled out his hand and went for the bottle of alcohol... but then he used his fist to smash it all over Shanks.

who the hell ya think you are to speak to me like that?. I'm "Higuma' the bear". I have a bounty of 8,000,000 berries on my head. Let that information sink in your weak minded head. And watch it next time said Higuma before walking away.

see ya never again, cowards laughed one of the bandits as they left the bar.

after that, Makino went to check on Shanks. You ok Shanks? Asked Makino worried. I'm fine Makino, thanks for worrying said Shanks.

silence was still there... until the whole crew started laughing again. It was like nothing happened.

did ya see that?, he called us weaklings, can you believe those guys? Laughed a member. Who the hell even where they? Laughed another member.

hahaha, I know the feeling men laughed Shanks happily.

why are you all laughing?!, you should have all had fight back!, they made you all look like weaklings!! Yelled Luffy enraged.

it's just alcohol Luffy. Nothing to be angry about. You should smile more, that's what we're doing said Shanks smiling happily.

your not a man... nor a pirate. Your a coward said Luffy upset as he sits back down.

he then spots a small chest next to him. Confused, he opens it... only to find a strange looking fruit. Feeling hungry again, he starts eating it despite the bad taste it gave.

eating out of anger? Laughed Shanks smiling. Shut up! Said Luffy eating. As he eats, Shanks gets a better look at what Luffy's eating.

wait, what are you eating?! Asked Shanks in panic. Huh? Asked Luffy confused.

oh no, you, ate, the devil fruit... you idiot!, don't you know what devil fruits do?! Yelled Shanks upset.

what's a devil fruit? Asked Luffy completely confused. They grant a supernatural power... but in return, they take away their users ability to swim forever said Ben Beckmann.

what?!, I lost the ability to swim?!... hold up, I never was good at swimming in the first place said Luffy.

it doesn't matter anymore. You ate a devil fruit, now you can't swim ever again said Shanks.

so then... which was it I ate? Asked Luffy. The crew was surprised to hear him say that.

if my readings right, it was the hard hard fruit. It grants the ability to have limitless invincibility, as well the power to heat up their body said Lucky Roo.

so, in other words, it's a defense power... cool said Luffy amazed by the outcome.

you really are an idiot said Shanks feeling annoyed. He went back to drinking till he was drunk enough.

so, why have a devil fruit with you?. Were any of you thinking of eating it? Asked Luffy.

honestly, we were planning on selling it for 40,000,000 berries. But looks like we lost the chance cause of you... I ever tell ya about my boy Usopp? Asked Yasopp as he goes on about his only child again.
