Yo!
How's life lads!? Good? Well ain't that swell.
Life is good to me as well, thank you kindly for asking, that's rather nice of you all.
No sarcasm intended of course.
Anyway, let's jump right into this lads! Because…
We're finally entering Norse mythology!
Hooray!
Start:
It was easy to see just how different her life was without Naruto's presence.
Even after the village had been rebuilt, and rather quickly thanks to the joint effort of Yamato and his wood style, the shinobi and villagers, along with some outside help from those that her favorite blonde knucklehead befriended such as the Land of Wave, the village still felt incomplete.
Or rather, it was her who felt incomplete, as though a good portion of her soul was missing.
She sighed sullenly while drawing her knees to her chest, a frown tugging at the end of her lips.
Nothing felt right or whole without him.
Though she supposed that, that was how it felt for every mother out there who was forced away from their child due to whatever circumstance, Tsunade herself was no exception as without the whiskered blonde rascal who she had come to love as though he was her flesh and blood, she just felt hollow.
It had been what, around two months since Pain had attacked and Naruto's disappearance right afterwards?
She could scarcely believe what happened, all of it.
One man, the very same one who was responsible for Jiraiya's death, attacked and demolished the entire village all on his own, killed and decimated nearly all of the Konoha population, and Naruto, her son in everything but blood, fought with said man, defeated him, then somehow convinced him to use a technique that revived everyone he killed.
Tsunade had never heard of such a jutsu, thinking about it filled her with a sense of envy as if she had such a technique in her reservoir, there was so much death that she could have prevented.
And somehow, Naruto had convinced such a formidable and ruthless enemy to use it on the village he had annihilated…
If it were anyone else, such a feat wouldn't have been possible.
But Naruto did always have a knack for accomplishing the unexpected.
The thought brought forth a fond smile on Tsunade's visage as she pictured his face in her head. She loved that stupid boy dearly, perhaps even a bit too much at times.
They shared such a bond that if somehow, Kushina came back to life, and it wouldn't surprise her if it did happen after Pain's … introduction and farewell, Tsunade knew she'd be involved in the largest catfight in the history of catfights with that red-head.
Over what one might ask would be why the two of them would be fighting for? The custody and rights to being Naruto's mother of course. It wasn't a fight that Tsunade would allow herself to lose. In fact, she'd wipe the floor with Kushina!
It spoke volumes of her love, that she would actually fight against Kushina to be his mother.
And subsequently, it also helped illustrate the kind of pain that Tsunade was going through as right after Naruto had finished his business with Pain, he ended up disappearing, leaving a large hole in her heart that couldn't possibly be filled except with him returning to her life and into her arms.
Naruto's disappearance naturally had an effect on everyone and everything else.
Those in the village, primarily the civilians and shinobis who had made his childhood hell, felt a binding sense of sadness and shame that could not be expunged.
The rest of the Konoha twelve each had their own reaction, Lee had been relentlessly throwing himself deeper into his training, Neji, Kiba and Shino had been taking many missions outside the village in hopes of finding him.
Outwardly, Sai seemed no worse for the wear, but his personality had noticeably become more grim and wary, Choji, took a step even further than Sai and had become reclusive and distant, preferring to actually hone his skills so that if another individual like Pain invaded, he'd actually prove to be more useful this time around.
Tenten and Ino, didn't share a close bond with Naruto but his eluding presence had dampened their spirits and forced them to question their worth as kunoichis.
For Shikamaru, it was almost painfully obvious in how he had changed, having stopped being lazy, the genius had been mercilessly trying to decipher Naruto's location to no avail, yet he surprisingly proved to be the most determined of the group as he worked non-stop in his quest to find his dear friend.
When it came to her apprentice… Tsunade exhaled tiredly.
Sakura had been acting as though nothing was wrong, simply continuing her duties in the hospital while training whenever she had free time, yet the mechanical smile she wore on her face was a constant sight for the past two months.
It had gotten to the point where a few of the remaining Konoha Twelve, most notably a very angered Shikamaru, had accused the pinkette of not caring about the whereabouts of her blonde teammate.
What was alarming in that whole occurrence was not in how Sakura had responded that Naruto would be back, but it was in how she had begun to break down after her proclamation, dissolving into a heaping mess of tears.
Yet even as she cried, Sakura still vehemently insisted that Naruto would return, she said it with such certainty that it seemed like it was a fact about the world, like how the sky was blue.
It was clear that Sakura was barely holding it together.
But even Sakura was not the most affected of the Konoha Twelve by Naruto's lack of presence.
No, no.
That honor belonged to one, formerly meek Hinata Hyuuga.
Tsunade exhaled tiredly as she thought of the numerous and visible changes that had accompanied the heiress of the Hyuuga clan since then.
There was no contesting that it was Hinata who was most affected by the unexpected turn of events two months ago.
Shy, gentle, and sweet Hinata, was now downright cold and intimidating.
Anyone who had known the girl prior to the Pain Invasion and had taken a month-long mission would be shocked at the one-eighty turn that the busty Hyuuga had taken.
Hinata had completely isolated herself from the group and from everyone in general.
Much like Sakura, she too firmly believed that Naruto would return, her sanity practically hinged on that bet. But in contrast to the pinkette who would break down into stutters and tears when confronted with a possibility of Naruto not returning, Hinata had a…
Different reaction was a simple yet profound way to put it.
The maniacal smile that appeared on her visage would haunt those who felt dubious about the hero of Konoha returning and made the mistake of voicing out their doubts around her.
Only positive thing that came out of this unexpected ordeal was the fact that Hinata had grown pretty powerful in the past two months due to her brutal self-imposed training and was becoming a rapidly well-known figure in the elemental nation.
A figure that struck fear into the souls of hundreds of thousands of shinobi while simultaneously stealing the hearts of millions.
Naruto would have some major competition when he returned…
If he returned. A joyless notion that Tsunade desperately tried to rid herself of.
Peace and quiet may have reigned over the elemental nation now that the Akatsuki have chosen to play the waiting game.
But it was only a matter of time until that state of quietness was disrupted by that criminal organization, not that it currently mattered much to the female Hokage.
Because even if the current peace in the lands wasn't disrupted, even if there was no Akatsuki, even if all the Kage had realized the foolishness of bloodshed and hatred.
And even if harmony truly was shared across the world, Tsunade just couldn't bring herself to care if Naruto, her precious son in everything but blood, wasn't there to experience it.
Cold and insensitive her thought process may have been, but the only female hokage genuinely stood by them.
She only cared for the world only when those she loved were living in it, and until she could fill the hole in her heart by bringing Naruto back to Konoha, hollowness and sorrow would be her only constant companions.
Standing up and walking over to the balcony, Tsunade gazed up at the moon with a forlorn expression, her beautiful form illuminated by the dim moonlight that shared her grievance. Words, soft and quietly spoken, were heard by the drifting wind.
"Naruto, wherever you are, I hope you're safe and okay."

Tick marks, a series of them, was sported on Grayfia's head.
A rare and first-time sight for Naruto as the silver-haired maid was extremely composed, stoic, and collected at nearly all times.
Though it was to be expected considering what was currently happening…
Namely the fact that Odin was giggling like a schoolgirl while eyeing the silverette, the creepy perv face that was eerily similar to the one his Godfather usually wore was out in full force.
It wasn't exactly the most… fashionable expression to have, especially when one considered that it was coming from Odin, the leader of the Norse pantheon of all people.
Fortunately, every method of torture couldn't be conducted at all times, those who suffered needed a break, and Grayfia finally found herself a moment of reprieve from the inappropriate eyes of Odin thanks to her companion as he was soon rocketed away by a massive nosebleed.
Naruto sweatdropped, that took long enough.
How did all this happen again?
For that to be answered, one needed to delve back into the past.
Flashback no jutsu: (Half an hour prior to the present)
It was a wonderful day to be Lord Odin.
The skies were blue! The grass was green! All his children including the adventurous Thor were home! And Loki was for once subdued!
It was a peaceful day, a wonderful day.
And Odin had the pleasure of indulging in his usual activities and since Loki was not causing trouble for once, surprisingly, that meant that Odin could indulge to his heart's content.
Everywhere he walked, he came across a ravishing and scrumptious Valkyrie, seeing as they were his warriors and were the elites of Asgard, Odin had to scan their form.
To make sure they weren't riddled with any manner of injuries of course. And if he had his doubts, he could always find out directly. Anything for the health of his warriors.
Now if only they stopped giving him annoyed looks when he was just checking up on them.
But yes… today was a wonderful day indeed!
Walking around Asgard, his journey eventually landed him upon the gates where he was to expect a pair of guests. Grayfia, the silver haired queen of annihilation, and her companion from what he had understood, was a human who she was escorting.
Now that was an intriguing concept and one that stoked the God-king's curiosity.
Who was this Naruto Uzumaki? Why was he being escorted by a Satan's queen? Lucifer at that, and what was the relation that tied them together?
So many questions yet not one answer. Odin was looking forward to meeting with his guests.
Fortunately, he wouldn't have to wait long as right before his eyes, at the allocated time designated for entry, did the illustrious and gorgeous Grayfia emerge from a teleportation spell along with the human who piqued his interest.
He moved forward to greet them, his attention alternating between the pair who instantly noticed him.
As much as he would have liked to scrutinize and glean information from the blonde, it was not yet appropriate when he hadn't even exchanged greetings with them.
Time to change that.
"Hello and welcome to Asgard! Grayfia Lucifuge and Naruto Uzumaki."
Grayfia bowed. "Hello Odin-Sama, thank you for welcoming us into your kingdom. My charge and I are grateful for your hospitality."
"We appreciate your welcome, thank you." Naruto replied earnestly.
The ruler of Asgard smiled. "But of course, it has been a long awhile since I entertained guests and I'm much curious about the young man who is obviously favored by Sirzech."
Naruto scratched his cheek awkwardly. "To make a long story short, I helped out his sister."
That immediately caused Odin to erupt into guffaws, he needed a long moment before he could rein his amusement enough to reply. "Is that so, well that answers one question but I still have a couple dozen left, and I imagine that, that must be the case for you as well."
"I wouldn't say a couple dozen but I do have quite a few that I hope you'd be able to answer."
Oh, now that was intriguing.
"Well let's hope for the best then, but first thing's first, let us depart to a more appropriate setting, I imagine whatever questions you have for me are the private kind."
"That's right."
"And…" Odin's attention shifted "You and I need to discuss matters relating to recent events as well and how it affects the relationship of our factions."
"Yes indeed Odin-Sama."
"Excellent." He clapped his hands. "Then without further ado, let us depart."
Forming a large magic circle that encompassed the three of them, the trio were then dissolved into particles only to reform and appear in what seemed to be a large royal dining hall.
The majesty and beauty of it was indeed fitting for Gods and Naruto took a long appreciative glance, he had never come across such luxury.
Grayfia, while a different story altogether, was also captivated by the dignified and grand design of the room.
It was otherworldly.
Off to the side, Odin felt a sense of pride at how awestruck his guests were with the work of his dear wife Freya, he allowed them just a few more seconds to admire before he then coughed in his fist and successfully catapulted their attention onto him. "It pleases me to know that you approve of the fine details of this room."
"It is quite fabulous Odin-Sama." Grayfia remarked with Naruto nodding in full agreement.
"I am happy to hear that. Now Grayfia..." Odin bore a serious gaze and tension entered the room as he pinned the maid with his full attention.
Naruto's muscles tensed in preparedness, Grayfia's tensing too as there was no telling what thoughts were flowing through the God-king's head.
…
Flashback no jutsu End.
As it turned out, that was wholly unnecessary as all that had happened was that Odin wished to admire her assets.
And that evolved the situation into him just flatly eyeing the silverette for a full fifteen seconds while Naruto just awkwardly stood by on the side and was wondering what the fuck was going on.
Perverted giggling met his ears and he then fully understood the situation.
Basically, Odin was exactly like the third hokage but with his Godfather's level of perverseness.
That kind of perverseness was at a level so high that it could make even the perverted trio seem a bit tame in comparison, just a bit.
Unfortunately for Grayfia, being the kind of woman that she was and considering the situation, she couldn't do much to refute his glances, no matter how annoying they were.
However, Naruto was a different story, knowing how perverts worked on a molecular level thanks to his abundant experience of being around many, he grabbed a hold of her shoulders much to her confusion then quickly shook her side by side.
As the shinobi had anticipated, Odin was quickly knocked away by an enormous propulsion of blood that spurted out of his nose, courtesy of Grayfia's breasts jiggling crazily due to the shaking.
Being a healthy young man who was brimming with testosterone, the jinchuriki couldn't blame the old man for his reaction as he too was physically affected, just nowhere near as exaggeratingly as Odin was.
And being aroused wasn't the only consequence to the action he had taken, Naruto understood that explicitly well as Grayfia slowly turned around and pierced him with the full weight of her soul-crushing glare.
She raised a hand to his cheek, index and thumb rapidly approaching his skin and he gulped and tried to back away only to learn his efforts were futile as her other hand came and gripped his shoulder with an iron-like grip, pinning him in place.
Much to his horror, her fingers made contact and she lightly squeezed his skin.
…
…
As silence stretched across time, Naruto's anxiousness only grew as a cruel and malicious pair of pearl shaded orbs stayed locked on to him during that entire duration.
It was becoming too much and the shinobi nearly whimpered until finally, Grayfia decided she had enough of the oppressive quiet.
"While I am grateful for the reason of why you had interfered, the method of how you had gone about ridding his attention off me is one that I'm none too happy of, Naruto-Sama."
"Mercy?" He whispered meekly, hoping to appeal to her sense of compassion and reason.
"I'm afraid not, Naruto-Sama." She dashed his hopes away. "You can't learn the magnitude of your mistakes without feeling any pain."
Twist.
"OWWWWWW!"
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Chuckles and giggles echoed across the hallway as the unique trio composed of a faction leader, a maid, and a whiskered blonde human walked across the hallway littered with servants, Valkyries, and the occasional God or Goddess.
…
Well, to be more accurate, it was Odin and Grayfia who were walking while Naruto kept stumbling about due to Grayfia dragging him by the cheek.
Such an experience was one that caused Naruto to flush and pout to no end yet despite his incessant plea for her to let go of his bruised cheek, Grayfia was even more stubborn and refused to let up on her punishment.
Odin himself was barely reining his snickers and it was only due to his position as a faction leader and being outside of the maid's range of influence that he wasn't suffering her wrath. Naruto sadly was not that lucky.
Anyone who laughed or found amusement in Naruto's predicament couldn't be blamed as it really was funny to find a man who was pretty broad and muscular getting the naughty kid treatment.
And that wasn't the worst part about it, no, no. The worst part about the entire ordeal was the fact that the start of his reputation as a badass was effectively ruined!
There was no erasing or fixing the fact that during the entire time where the God-king himself was escorting them around the palace and showing them the place, that Naruto was getting dragged around as though he was a kid that belonged on Santa's naughty list.
He had honestly lost count after entering the triple digits but a large number of viewers had witnessed what happened to him, and now… He would forever be known as the manchild who was punished by the stoic devilish maid.
Stopping right behind a massive set of golden plated doors, Odin turned to the pair and allowed his already present smile to widen. "And finally, this is the entrance to the dining hall, where in roughly two-three hours, you shall have a grand feast with the Gods of Asgard!"
"My companion and I thank you once again for your hospitality, Odin-Sama." Grayfia bowed in gratitude and through her grip, forced a wincing Naruto to do the same.
"Think nothing of it!" Odin thundered with glee. "Now I can imagine that you must be exhausted from your travels, please, allow me to escort you both to your rooms so you can get some adequate rest, our curiosity and business matters can be satiated later."
"Actually, Odin-Sama, I'd like to make a request."
"Oh?"
Letting go of her companion's cheek, causing Naruto to exhale in a mix of relief and pain, Grayfia eyed the faction leader stoically. "If it is of no issue to you, I'd like to request that me and Naruto-Sama share a room together."
Naruto's eyes instantly widened like dinner plates, jaw touching the floor as his mind went through a hard reboot.
In contrast, Odin had a much different reaction, chest rumbling and contracting as he released a boisterous and deafening guffaw that was no doubt heard by all the characters in the realm.
Some servants actually got frightened and scurried away, leaving only the trio who each were embroiled in their own emotional state, one in a state of heavy amusement, another in vast shock, and one that was perfectly composed and calm.
Grinning, Odin nodded wholeheartedly. "It is no issue at all, in fact, you'll be pleased to know that either of the rooms I had prepared for both of you is suitable for multiple individuals to stay in."
"Your generosity knows no bounds." She complimented professionally and with a hint of appreciation.
"No need to flatter me dear Grayfia, I'm sure I would have received a no less welcome by your hands. Now please, let me lead you to where you'll be staying."
He trekked past them and the pair followed after him, Naruto all the while still rendered speechless by the unexpected turn of events.
As much as he would have loved to question and gleam answers from the queen of Lucifer, he couldn't currently due to obvious reasons.
The blonde would have to wait, and wait he did while he and Grayfia engaged in small talk here and there with Odin.
Soon enough, they arrived behind a door and they entered inside, being greeted to a large, spacious room that was the perfect blend between a bedroom belonging to a five-star resort and a honeymoon suite.
Naruto went still as his gaze landed on the sole king-sized bed, his mind flooded with thoughts and fantasies involving himself and Grayfia that shamefully, and naturally considering his age, he lost himself in.
Eventually after a long while, Naruto managed to dispel the spell that he had been entranced in.
So distracted he had been, he even missed the ends of Odin and Grayfia's conversation, only managing to turn around in time to catch Odin's cheeky wink and thumbs up before the form of Asgard's leader vanished behind the door.
…
…
"So uhhh Grayfia."
"Yes Naruto-Sama?"
The shinobi scratched his cheek awkwardly. "Why did you ask Odin to give us a single room?"
"Before I answer your question Naruto-Sama, I must ask, are you opposed to what I had requested?" She propped up a confused brow, inquisitiveness lighting her gaze before it faded away into apathy. "If so, I do not mind apologizing to Odin-Sama and asking him to prepare another room."
"No, no." Naruto hurriedly replied. "You do not have to do such a thing! I don't want you to do so and hurt your standing when I know that you value professionalism. It's just…" A small flush made its way to his cheeks and he looked away in embarrassment. "I get… well… a man and woman, in the same room… you know what I mean."
Oh. A swift glance downwards confirmed Grayfia's suspicion before she gazed back up. "I reiterate my point from a few days ago, Naruto-Sama, you have nothing to be embarrassed of. I'm a beautiful woman, you're a handsome man, it is only natural that we'd both feel some sort of physical reaction to one another."
Allowing her words to sink in, the shinobi took a long moment to contemplate both his thoughts and her words.
Why was he being so hesitant? He'd already been placed in many circumstances that were far from appropriate and he emerged no worse for the wear.
Hell, he had been forced into countless brothels too because of his pervy Godfather and while not something he wanted to go through again, those experiences still had to amount to something.
He was being a bit of a wimp, wasn't he?
Fighting the discomfort that plagued him, Naruto shifted his gaze to confidently meet and lock onto Grayfia's own gaze, so what if they slept in the same room or in the same bed? It didn't matter. He had already slept and woke up numerous times to find Rias in his bed, with even Akeno joining in occasionally.
It was about time that he quit the blushing princess act.
'Just remember, I've had two super hot women sneaking into my room while I was asleep so they can sleep with me. And that occurrence happened plenty of times with Rias-Chan and Akeno-Chan! I got this.' Naruto mentally hyped himself up.
It worked and the blonde began to feel majorly self-assured before he replied to the devil maid. "Yeah, you do got a point there."
Grayfia nodded before her gaze softened. "Thank you for caring about my reputation, I appreciate the fact that you're considerate of my feelings in the matter, even when I said I had no issue speaking to Odin-Sama about this."
"Nothing to thank me for, I did make a promise that I would be the most amazing friend to you that I can be, didn't I? That naturally means that I have to take your feelings into consideration." Naruto replied truthfully.
"That you did." A small, nearly unnoticeable smile tugged at the edge of Grayfia's lips before she forced them into a fine line. "To answer your earlier question, it's due to caution. I'm responsible for caring for you, and while I had initially been fine with us sleeping just a room apart, I've realized that that is no longer an option because of two reasons."
"For one, with the current state of the world and all the mischief and problems that have been going on, it is not unlikely for trouble to appear here like it did with the vampire faction, and to my knowledge, the Norse pantheon has more enemies than the vampires do." She added.
Naruto understood her point instantly. "Meaning that if problems happened with the vampire group and the chances of that happening were even less likely there than it is here, then another issue may arise in Asgard even if the chances are slim and you don't wish to take that chance."
"Precisely." Grayfia concurred. "The second reason is so I could make sure that you're healed every night before you go to sleep."
"Pardon me?" He blinked incredulously.
"Asgardians like to engage in brawls and fights and considering how you've tried to hide your injuries from me after you had fought Moka-Sama, I don't trust you to not come to me when you're physically hurt."
"That's… fair." Naruto had to give it to her, hiding his injuries would be something that he'd do.
"I also realize that you're the kind who has a tendency for looking for trouble, which is why I'd like for us to share a room every night from here on out, that way I can determine for myself if you're actually healed or not."
"… You really don't trust me, do you?" He deadpanned.
Grayfia nodded seriously. "When it comes to your health, no I do not, Naruto-Sama."
Rolling his eyes, Naruto sent the busty maid a sarcastic thumbs up before he dove for the bed.
End.
And that puts an end to this chapter lads!
Lots of stuff happened, we finally got an update on the elemental nation, our two mates are now in Asgard, they're sharing a room, and Naruto is finally beginning to man up!
Although I plan on making him struggle a bit before he can truly be confident with this kind of thing.
I do hope you all enjoyed reading this, I did too.
Writing things from Odin's perspective was pretty fun too.
Next chapter is going to have our boy meet some major Gods so stay tuned for that lads!
