This was originally one long ass chapter, but I decided to split it into two shorter ones. I might have overdone it with the body language descriptions in this chapter and the next, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless. Hopefully I can balance character interactions as well. Also I made up my mind to include Rem with her name and memories.

Chapter 2: What is Soccer?

Everyone exchanged baffled and Bewildered looks at this completely unfamiliar word

"Now Subaru, no matter how boring life gets, you mustn't run away to alcohol…(sake)" Emilia reprimanded, wagging her finger as if addressing a child.

"No not that! we don't want a repeat of what happened last time…" Subaru shuddered at the memory of drunken Emilia and Rem, though in actuality he wasn't opposed to repeating that feat anyhow.

"Soak Her?" Ram inquired, as Rem charges a 'Huma!' over Betty's head.

"NO NOT SOAK HER!" Subaru Shouted, engaging in a double face-Palm,

"Soc-cer Soc. Cer. Soccer" he pronounced pedantically.

Sensing their perplexed looks, Subaru quickly tries to explain what Soccer is.

"So...soccer, or football is a sport about two teams trying to score against each other."

Subaru begins his explanation, painting the picture with his hands as he continues;

"Each team has ten players and a goalkeeper, playing in a rectangular field with a goal at either end. The objective of the game is to score points by putting the ball into the opposing team's goal using your legs, torso and head."

Subaru's explanation gets everyone's attention. Some of them, such as Ram, start to slowly understand the basic concept of the game, while others, such as Petra and Garfiel, still look confused. They begin to nod along his explanation as the concept slowly starts to register in their minds. Some even look interested and intrigued.

"...Sounds interesting. What about the goalkeeper?" Emilia inquires, tilting her head slightly in curiosity.

"The goalkeeper is the player that will attempt to parry and catch opposing players' attempts to score. They're also the only player who's allowed to touch the ball with their hands. The goalkeeper can also go further down the field to kick stray balls, though they should still stay inside the penalty area, as that's the only area they are allowed to use their hands."

"I have to admit, this game of Soccer does sound quite interesting. However, there is something that concerns me," Frederica piped up.

"Soccer is a physical game, and it requires stamina and physical exercise. I understand that the ladies in this room may not have a problem, but the boys in here…"

She looks at Garfiel and David, who are both lying on the sofa lazily.

"I'm not sure if they even have the stamina to run a 100m Sprint at the moment."

"Hey!! Are ya lookin down on me!!"

Garfiel shouted, and shot up in response to Frederica's words, slightly offended.

"Eeehhhh!!!!" David exclaimed, launching himself off the sofa.

"I'm full of energy," He said, bouncing up and down. "Don't underestimate us!!!"

"Yeah! We can kick butt and run plenty no problem!"

This time both Garfiel and David were standing and facing Frederica head on.

Frederica chuckled seeing their response to her remark, as she crossed her arms she teased the boys.

"Oh really now, are you sure about that? Both of you have been lounging around doing nothing for the past hour since we were bored. Don't tell me you were conserving energy."

"That was then, and this is now," David doubled down, unwavering as Garfiel nodded along.

With a smirk, Frederica felt satisfied that her words had managed to spark motivation in both Garfiel and David. It was amusing to her and all involved, how they had gone from being lazy moments ago to being all fired up in the matter of seconds.

"Well, well... look at you two. It seems like I struck the right nerve."

Now Otto decided to speak up about the practicality of Subaru's suggestion

"Now hold on, Subaru. While this sounds like a fun idea, I have a question. How exactly do you expect us to play this game? We don't exactly have a football pitch, or any equipment, laying around."

Subaru flashes a mischievous grin

"That's why we're going to have to make our own!" Subaru explains, his devious grin growing even wider, as he sees their shocked looks, as they realise they have no choice but to comply or suffer in boredom.

"……What?"
