Last time, Musuko met with his best friend, Benson Takashi. Somehow, he too was pulled in the Digital World like Musuko was. Together, they fought a group of Keramon and Chrysalimon that were causing problems with the planes. The two of them fought together, but somehow Chrysalimon turned into Diaboromon. Refusing to give, the two boys stood brave against a powerful digimon...with something new awakening.

A Taste of Adventure

The boys were faced with a great challenge. The two of them were fighting against Diaboromon when a new power suddenly awakened and their digimon were in forms that neither of them have ever seen before. Neither of them are sure what this power is, but it's being generated from their D-3s as they both shined in a gold and yellow light. Whatever this power is, they are putting their trust and faith in it.

"Let's go!" Musuko called as he and his partner were the first to attack and flew right at Diaboromon. Diaboromon tried to attack them by stretching out its claws, but Musuko's partner flew around those claws and punched Diaboromon right in the face and forced him to move back. He kept striking at Diaboromon and made him keep moving back.

"Our turn!" Benson called. His partner flew up and formed seven lights. Diaboromon tried dodging them, but one of the lights blasted against him and did some damage. Once that was done, Musuko's partner went for the end. A sword ejected out of his arm and he slashed right down on Diaboromon, splitting him in two. When that happened, the sinister signal that Diaboromon was emitting stopped functioning with the planes regaining control over their systems. "Did we win?"

"Yeah, we won!" Musuko cheered. Just then, their partners shined and returned to their original forms with Musuko's partner becoming Veemon again and their D-3s stopped shining. "Veemon! That was awesome!"

"Thanks...but what did I do? Musuko, what was that we just did?" Veemon questioned.

"How would I know?" Musuko questioned.

"That was really weird." Benson said as he had his own rookie. Now that things seemed to have calmed down, they were thinking more clearly. It was like before that they were just using mere instinct. "Patamon, what do you think happened?"

"I don't know. I've never experienced something like that." Patamon said.

"It might be weird, but it's awesome!" Musuko said as he was all excited. "This is so cool! Our digimon digivolved to rookie, we fought evil digimon, and we probably just saved lives!"

"Yeah, but how are we going to get home? If I don't get home soon, Mom is going to get really worried." Benson said. It did seem like they might need to find their way out of the Digital World. Just then, their digivices began to shine again and they were carried away.

"Those children did better than I thought, but this is only the beginning."

...

Koji

Koji was still amazed by the beautiful feather that came to him. Whatever it was that he was feeling seems to have subsided now. He felt a lot more happy and cheerful.

"Koji, are you okay?" Kari asked as she checked on her son.

"Mommy, look what I found!" Koji said in a cheerful tone and showed the feather he found.

"Oh, what a pretty feather. I wonder what bird it came from." Kari said. Koji was feeling happy again and is sure that his brother is safe now. Everything is going to be just fine...for now.

...

Musuko

When Musuko could see again, he and Veemon saw they were back in Odaiba. They were brought back to the same spot they were at when they were taken to the Digital World. When they got back there, they were both astonished at everything that just happened.

"We're back home? How did we get home?" Musuko questioned.

"Musuko, look at me! I'm still Veemon! That means what happened to us actually happened!" Veemon said.

"Of course it did! We're not dreaming" Musuko claimed. "Come on! We better get back to the house! Mom, Dad, and the others are going to freak when they see you like this! They're going to love it!" He said as the two of them hurried back home. He can't stop getting so excited about everything that is going on.

...

The Motomiya House

Musuko and Veemon were the first ones to make it back to the house as it was getting late. He and his new Veemon couldn't wait to surprise everyone on what is about to happen. Waiting at the top of the stairs, they couldn't stop giggling about what they're going to do. As they heard the door opened up, they saw Kari and the others walking through the door.

"Hi, Mom!" Musuko called as he kept Veemon hidden.

"Hey, honey. Were you home alone long?" Kari asked.

"No. Uh... Do you know if Dad will be home soon? I've got something amazing to show all of you." Musuko asked.

"He should be here any minute now." Gatomon said. "Thank goodness his plane landed safely. There were some problems with the planes earlier." If only they knew the truth. Musuko was getting more and more excited. That was right when Davis and his own Veemon came in.

"Hey! We're home!" Davis called.

"Daddy!" Koji called as he ran right into Davis' arms and Davis lifted him up.

"Great. You're all here because there's something I have to tell you." Musuko said.

"Oh no. That's usually not good." Davis' Veemon said.

"I promise you that it is good." Musuko said with everyone listening. Musuko motioned for him to come out.

"Ta-da!" Veemon called as he showed himself with all of them surprised to see that there really was another Veemon in the house.

"Oh no! There are two Veemon!" Gatomon said.

"Hey!" Both complained.

"Musuko, what happened while you were at the park? How did DemiVeemon become Veemon?" Kari asked.

"It's a long story, and it's also how I got this." Musuko said as he showed he had a D-3. Davis and Kari couldn't believe that their son had one since digivices weren't really needed as a medium between humans and digimon anymore.

"Musuko, how did you get that?!" Davis questioned as both of his parents have a bad feeling of what their son is getting involved in. Musuko was so excited to tell them all about what happened. He told them how they were pulled into the Digital World, fought Keramon and Tyrannomon, and how they were able to take on a Diaboromon with how it was the cause of the planes technical problems.

"And then we somehow came back here! It was awesome!" Musuko said.

"That's not awesome! Musuko, what you did was dangerous! You could have gotten hurt or worse!" Kari said as she was scared of what might have happened to her son. "You should have found someone to get help and told the proper authorities on what was going on!

"What? We handled it." Musuko said. "Besides, Mom, we couldn't have waited. Dad was flying home and could have been in serious trouble. Dad, you would have done the same, wouldn't you?"

"Well... Maybe..." Davis admitted, but his wife gave him a look that quickly got him to change sides. "But your mother is right. What you did was dangerous, and this doesn't seem normal. Something weird is going on in the Digital World."

"You're worrying too much, and now I have a Veemon like you, Dad!" Musuko said. "Come on, Veemon! Let's try to go back to the Digital World and see if there's more we can do!"

"Yeah! More action!" Veemon cheered as they hurried off to go back to the Digital World for more action and adventure. Musuko might seem like he's not scared of everything, but there actually is one thing he's scared of.

"Musuko Motomiya, stop where you are!" Kari said in a stern voice and that got Musuko to freeze in fear. "You are not going anywhere in the Digital world until we have this whole thing cleared up!"

"Yes, ma'am." Musuko said. There is one thing Musuko is scared of: his mother.

...

The Next Day

Things might have gotten a little hectic last night with Musuko's surprise, but it didn't diminish this adventuring spirit he has. However, adventure will have to wait because he still has school. He was still rather excited about going to school, for once, since he gets to show everyone in his class that he got his digimon to digivolve. He knows everyone in his school is going to love it and him.

"I can't wait to see everyone's expression when they see that I've digivolved."Veemon said.

"I know! For once, I'm glad to be going to school!" Musuko said. As the two of them were running to school, he looked ahead and spotted Benson and Patamon. "Benson! Hey!" He called as they caught up to them.

"Hey, Musuko." Benson said.

"Did you tell your parents about what happened?" Musuko questioned.

"Well, I did have to tell them about Patamon." Benson said. "Mom really freaked when she saw this."

"You're right about that." Patamon said.

"Well, everyone at school is going to be shocked to see our partners now." Musuko said.

"Musuko, wait." Benson said as he grabbed him by the shoulders. "Until we know more about what happened to us, I think we should try to keep it our little secret. We don't even know what really happened. It's not like anyone is really going to believe us. Our parents only did because this sort of thing happened to them in the past."

"Yeah, but... I guess you're right..." Musuko said as he was a little bummed. "But what are we going to tell everyone when they see our digimon?"

"We'll think of something." Benson said.

"Think of what?" That was when two of girls showed themselves with their two digimon partners: Yokomon and Upamon.

"What are you two up to?"

"Oh, hey Natalie and Uria." Musuko said. Natalie Ishida: daughter of Matt and Sora Ishida, Benson's cousin, bit of a tomboy, not really into girly stuff, but is interested in sports. She's considered one of the best athletes in her class. Uria Hida: daughter of Cody, a little spoiled unlike her father, into fashion, shopping, and tries to be the it girl. Even though these two seem different, they're actually best friends.

"What's going on? Are you two planning something?" Natalie teased.

"No. Nothing like that." Benson said.

"Yeah, right. You two are planning something." Uria said.

"I'm sure they are. Demivee..." Yokomon was about to talk to their digimon, but that was when they noticed that their little friends were now Veemon and Patamon. "What?! You digivolved!"

"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! DemiVeemon and Tokomon digivolved!" Upamon said.

"No way!" Natalie said as the girls couldn't believe it.

"How did you get your digimon to digivolve to rookie? Even my precious Upamon hasn't digivolved yet." Uria said.

"Uh... We'll tell you later, but we need to get to school!" Benson said as he hurried off with Musuko and the others following.

"Hey! get back here! You can't run from me!" Natalie called as she chased after the boys.

...

Kari

As for Kari, she was in the middle of teaching her own class since she's a kindergarten teacher. One of the best things about her job is that she gets to teach her own son with the children of her friends like Sora's and Yolei's sons and Izzy's daughter. Still, she's worried about her oldest. After hearing Musuko's little story, she's worried about what her son might be getting into.

"Kari, are you okay?" Gatomon asked.

"I'll be fine." Kari said, but Gatomon knew better. Then, her phone was going off and saw it was her husband. "Gatomon, watch the kids. I'll be right out the door." She excused herself as she stepped out the door to take the call. "Davis, did you find out anything?"

"I did. I talked to Izzy." Davis said. "Musuko's story seems to be true as Izzy picked up strange energy signals from the Digital World. Looks like there's some digimon causing trouble again."

"This is bad." Kari said. "I talked to T.K. and he told me that the same thing happened to Benson. Davis, I'm worried. If there's trouble building in the Digital World, why were Musuko and Benson called in. They're just kids. I thought we were finally passed some evil threat trying to mess with both worlds."

"I don't know, but we can meet up with the others and talk about this." Davis said. "It will be okay, Kari. Nothing's going to happen to our boy." Kari wants to believe that, but she's been at this long enough to know that her son is being called by the Digital World this time and is wishing that wasn't the case.

...

The School

Meanwhile, Musuko and his friends were all at another school for second graders. At the school, everyone in their class was amazed that Musuko and Benson had their digimon at the rookie level. Musuko and Veemon were certainly enjoying the attention they were getting and felt like the coolest kids at school now.

"Spill it. You've got to tell us how you got your digimon to digivolve." Natalie said.

"I bet I know how you did it." A boy said as he stepped forward.

"Tell them, Mason! I want to digivolve." His partner, Tanemon said. Mason Tachikawa: son of Mimi Tachikawa, loves eating since his mother owns a cooking show, a little funny, but he believes almost everything. "You guys got into a battle just like how our parents fought digimon." That was true and they thought they were busted.

"Stop being silly." A girl said as she tapped her book against his head. "Why do you always have to come up with the silliest ideas?" Cassie Ichijouji: oldest daughter of Ken and Yolei Ichijouji, smartest girl in her grade, and takes great pride in her smarts. "Digimon digivolve because they grow and develop like us kids or can be modified like computer programs."

"Cassie, you know we're alive like you, even though we're Digital Monsters." Her partner, Poromon, claimed.

"I know. I'm just making sure Mason understands." Cassie said.

"Why do you always have to be a buzzkill? Why can't you ever just be silly?" Mason questioned.

"Because I don't like looking foolish." Cassie said. Everyone was curious as to how Musuko and Benson got their digimon to digivolve as the class was starting to debate with each other.

"This is becoming a problem." Benson said.

"What are you talking about?" This is great!" Musuko said as he loved this.

"Settle down, everyone!" Their teacher said as he came back into the classroom. "I'm sure you're all amazed, but we do have lessons to go over. Now everyone sit down."

"Yes, Mr. Yakedo." The whole class said as they all sat down.

"Good. Now, I hope you've all been studying since we have a pop quiz." Mr. Yakedo said with all of them groaning about that.

"No worries. We just fought some bad digimon. How bad can this quiz be?" Musuko whispered to Benson as he thought he could do this.

...

Musuko

It turns out that he was wrong. He ended up failing that quiz. Once he got home, he just stared down at his bad grade. It wasn't all that surprising since Musuko isn't that good at school.

"I guess fighting evil digimon doesn't make-up for bad grades." Veemon said.

"Shut up." Musuko complained.

"Hey, Musuko!" Davis' Veemon called from the kitchen. "We're going to get started on dinner. It should be ready by the time Koji and your Mom gets home. Anything special that you want?"

"Not really." Musuko said as he just slumped on the couch. Musuko was actually hoping for some sort of action. After going through what he just did, he actually wanted more. It was fun and exhilarating, the most he's had in a long time. He wants more of it. He actually got what he wished for as the new D-3 he had was starting to alert him about something.

"Musuko, what's that beeping sound?" Davis questioned from the kitchen.

"Nothing!" Musuko said as he tried to be sneaky and keep the sound hidden. He saw this as an opportunity as he and his partner tried to sneak away.

"What are you doing?" Veemon questioned.

"This D-3 thing is going off. Maybe that means there's trouble happening in the Digital World." Musuko said. "That means we need to go." He said as he slipped on his shoes.

"But your parents made it clear they don't want us going there." Veemon said.

"Yeah, but they wouldn't ignore something like this. I can't either. We just need to find a way to get there since Dad will just stop me if we do it here." Musuko said. It seems that Musuko has the real makings of a digidestined like his parents did. He can't ignore the call and wanted to take action. "Dad, I'm going out for a while!"

"What?! Now?!" Davis called, but Musuko just ran out and went on ahead. Musuko and Veemon ran right out of the house and hurried to find a way into the Digital World. As they ran out of the house, they actually ran by Natalie and Yokomon, but Natalie chased after him.

"Sorry, Mom. Sorry, Dad. I know you don't want me to get involved in whatever might be going on, but I've got to see where this is going." Musuko said. Musuko might be just a kid, but he can hear adventure calling for him. His parents wouldn't be able to ignore the Digital World calling for their help, and he can't either. He ended up getting what he wanted as his D-3 began to shine again and carry them away. Musuko got a taste of adventure, and now he might be getting a full one.

...

Next time, Musuko and Benson have been called into the Digital World once again. However, it's not just them this time. Another one joins them on this new adventure as their own team begins to grow.
