Last time, the kids were brought back home and brought back to their parents. They informed their parents about what has happened so far, and of Hudiemon, but their parents have become concern for their safety. That is why they have told them to stay out of this and let them handle this. Musuko, unable to accept that, plans to find a way to get back in the action. Will they really go against their parents wishes?

Deciding Destiny

"So, are we clear on the plan for tomorrow, Veemon?" Musuko asked as the two of them were on their way home.

"I don't know about that, Musuko. You're thinking of skipping school to go back to the Digital World. Do you have any idea how upset your parents are going to be when they find out?" Veemon questioned.

"No worries. I handed in an excuse, so they have no reason to call my parents about it and I'll be back when school ends." Musuko said as he thought his plan was foolproof. He arrived home and thought it was going good. "I'm home!" He called as he walked through the door, but that was when he got real scared when he saw his mother.

"I got an interesting call from school." Kari said as she seemed scary and stern. "What is this excuse about?!" She said as she held up a piece of paper that had some excuse on it. Musuko now felt like he was in serious trouble.

"They probably would have recognized your handwriting." Veemon pointed out.

...

The Next Day

After seeing his fake excuse, Musuko was in serious trouble now. Kari and Musuko went over to speak with his teacher about this, and it was clear that they were both very disappointed in him.

"Musuko, this is not funny." Mr. Yakedo claimed. "You can't hand over fake excuses just so you can ditch school. Cutting class is just simply unethical. You've caused a bit of trouble before, but you always made up for it, and you never did anything like this before."

"I'm terribly sorry about this, Mr. Yakedo. I don't know what my son was thinking either" Kari claimed. "Musuko, isn't there something you want to say?" She said in a stern voice.

"I'm sorry, but there's just something important I have to do." Musuko claimed.

"Important?" Mr. Yakedo questioned.

"Yes! The Digital World is need of help!" Musuko claimed. "I mean, come one. Don't turn this into something where I don't know what I'm doing just simply because you're a kid."

"Musuko!" Kari said with her not approving of what Musuko is saying. "You will be respectful and watch what you say!" She claimed and Musuko a little anxious.

"Yes, Ma'am." Musuko claimed, but he knows this is something he had to do. Musuko is in real trouble for this, but he just can't seem to ignore what the Digital World is trying to say to him.

...

A Ramen Shop

"Boy, you're lucky your mother let you come over." Benson said. Musuko was able to meet up with the others and told them all about what happened with Mr. Yakedo and the school.

"I was only allowed since this is one of my dad's restaurants. The staff would probably tell on me." Musuko complained. "I know Mom is only trying to protect me, but she's wrong this time. Something is going on in the Digital World and we might be the ones to do something about it."

"Yeah, but do you really want to make your mother upset? She says you're grounded for a week after pulling that stunt." Veemon said with Musuko getting a little nervous about that.

"Ha. You are so scared of your mom." Mason teased.

"Hey, you guys don't know her like I do." Musuko claimed. "Yeah, Mom is really sweet and nice, but she can get rather scary when she's upset." Then again, when you think about it, what kid isn't scared of their mother when they're upset?

"Well, you have to admit that the whole thing was a stupid idea to begin with." Natalie said.

"It's just not fair. They think that just because we're kids, we can't do anything to help the Digital World." Musuko complained.

"That's not true and you know it, Musuko." Biyomon claimed. "Your parents are just trying to protect all of you. Things aren't like how they were when they were kids, so they say."

"What I like to know is why this happened to us in the first place." Natalie questioned. That was when their D-3s were going off again, but it was different. All of them looked and saw that there was some sort of message written on it. "Have they ever done this before?"

"No, and it looks like there's a message." Patamon said.

"What does it say?" Palmon asked.

"I'm sorry about all the trouble I have brought you and your families, but it needed to be done." Musuko read.

"Both worlds could be in danger and you are the ones that could save it." Natalie read.

"Your parents had their time, but now it's your turn. This time you have a choice." Mason read.

"If you want to know the truth, come to the Convention Center tonight." Benson read. Know the truth? That means the answers that they've been looking for could finally be revealed to them.

"This is perfect!" Musuko said. "This could be our chance to prove that we have what it takes. We can also find the answers we've been wondering about. This proves that we have to be the ones to do something if there really is trouble happening in the Digital World."

"I don't know." Natalie said as she and the others weren't sure about this. "Our parents made it clear they don't want us to get involved."

"And it says we have to be there tonight. That's pretty late. We might actually have to sneak out of our homes to do this." Benson said.

"That's something teenagers do, not seven year-olds." Mason said. "Our parents are going to be real mad. Maybe we should tell them about this and let them handle it like they told us to."

"I don't believe this." Musuko said. "Guys, we were the ones pulled into this for a reason. It shouldn't matter if we're kids or whatever. This time, we might be able to do something. Our parents had tons of great adventures that they all loved. My mom, Uria's dad, and Benson's dad weren't that much older than we are when this happened to them." They weren't sure, but this did sound like it was important. "Well, we've got some time. Think about it."

"Wow. Musuko sure is ready to go like he isn't scared." Mason said.

"Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Natalie said. "The other parents claim he's just like his dad." That said, maybe this is something they should think about.

...

Natalie

The kids had some time to think about what they're going to do before they have to meet at the Convention Center. They weren't exactly sure what to do. Needing a little company, Natalie went over to Uria's place and hung with her best friend.

"What do you think? Is this dress last season?" Uria questioned as she was going through her big closet.

"How would I know?" Natalie questioned.

"Unbelievable. Your mother is a fashion designer and yet you have no interest in fashion." Uria complained.

"Biyomon, you never told us. What's it like when you digivolved?" Upamon asked.

"IT felt incredible, like a burst of energy that surrounded me." Biyomon said. "I've got Natalie to thank for that. Her power is what helped me digivolved." That's true. It was Natalie that helped Biyomon digivolved and they both did enjoy it.

"About that... What do you think of this whole thing, Uria?" Natalie questioned. "Didn't your dad told you what was going on?"

"A little because the other parents thought we were going to get pulled into whatever is going on like you and the boys were." Uria said, but was more interested in her clothes. "Natalie, I say just let it go. It sounds like it could be really messy. You could get dirty, possibly blisters, sweaty, and so many gross things."

"But what if it could actually help others?" Natalie questioned.

"If you really want to help others, help me sort through my closet." Uria said. She's acting like this whole thing doesn't really matter and there's nothing to worry about. Uria never did like getting dirty, but her response had Natalie thinking. It sounds like they could actually help people, so should they really only worry about themselves now?

...

Mason

"Come on, Cassie. Admit it." Mason said as he paid a visit to Cassie. They were up in her room and Mason was trying to get something out of her. "Admit that I was right and you were wrong this time. Musuko and Benson got their digimon to digivolve through battle, just like how I did with Palmon here. Admit that I was right this time."

"Okay. You were right." Cassie said with annoyance as she kept studying what was under her microscope since she's all about science. "Happy now?"

"Yep." Mason said as he was feeling rather good about himself.

"Excuse me, Mason." Poromon said as he flew right in. "Cassie's mom would like you to keep the noise down. She's trying to get baby Sammy and Leafmon down for their naps."

"Sorry." Mason whispered.

"I do have to admit that I'm rather jealous that you guys managed to got to experience something like that." Cassie said. "It would have been a great opportunity to study digivolution." That's what brought Mason to what he's really thinking. He needs to figure out what he's going to do.

"Would you continue to do so?" Mason questioned.

"I wouldn't want to go against my parents, but it sounds like it could be a great opportunity to learn so much." Cassie claimed. Mason wasn't onboard with learning, but he did agree that it did sound like it could be a great opportunity. Even if his mother wouldn't agree, should he take it?

...

Benson

As for Benson, he just walked around the streets and was on his way home. He was still trying to figure out what he was going to do like the others with Patamon wondering what he was going to do.

"Heads up!" As Benson was walking, a soccer ball came at him, but he was able to catch it. That was when a little kid came running to him. "Sorry, Benson. Jimmy has more of a kick to him than he looks."

"That's okay, Tyson." Benson said. Tyson Kamiya: son of Tai, partner Koromon, in first grade, and is like his father.

"Sorry about that. I just kicked the ball like I was told." Jimmy said as he came on over. Jimmy Kido: son of Joe, partner Bukamon, normally timid and shy, and is best friends with Tyson.

"Who knew a shy little boy had a kick to him." Bukamon said.

"That's fine. It's time we get you home." A woman with wavy blue hair said as she came over. "Hi, Benson. What are you doing out here?"

"Hi, Mrs. Kido." Benson greeted to Joe's wife and Jimmy's mother: Jen Kido. "I was just on my way home. I...have a lot on my mind."

"I see." Jen said. "I was told about what happened between you and the other kids."

"It must have been so cool." Tyson said as he and the other kids all thought it was cool his cousin and the others are having an adventure like that. "You guys are so lucky that you got to go on a fun adventure and have your digimon digivolve. You're probably just like how our parents were when they went on all those adventures with the digimon. Are you going to go back?"

"Easy, Tyson. We don't want all of you doing anything because this could be dangerous." Jen said. "Anyway, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. Joe and the others will have everything under control. Besides, you and the others are good kids, Benson. I'm sure you'll make the right choice on what to do." The right choice... What if doing their part to help both worlds is the right choice, even if it means disobeying their parents. "Come on, kids. I need to get you home, Tyson. Bye, Benson." She said with all of them leaving and Benson wondering on what he might be doing.

"Benson? What are you thinking?" Patamon asked.

"I want to know what's going on, but what would Mom and Dad think?" Benson questioned as that's their biggest concern.

...

Izzy

Meanwhile, Izzy was at home and yet was still working. He's the type that works nonstop. Still, he tries to help with his family when he has to. Since he does, he feels lucky to have a family that supports him so much. For example, a little girl was bringing him his favorite tea.

"Here, Daddy."

"Thanks, Susan." Izzy said as he took the tea from his daughter. Susan Izumi: partner Motimon, in kindergarten, despite that she is very smart for her age, and they say she and her father even have their own language.

"Are you still looking for strange occurrences in the Digital World?" Susan asked.

"Yeah. If something is going on that the older kids were called in to help with it, I think it might be best to catch it before they're needed again." Izzy said. "What I really want to know is why did they get D-3s. In the old days, we used digivices to share our energy with our digimon, and much more. Now, digimon and humans no longer need something like that. Where did they come from?"

"I'm sure you'll find the answers, but there's no reason to overwork yourself." That was when Izzy met with a lovely lady with brunette hair that went down to her shoulders: his lovely wife Clare. She also had sweet baby Duncan in her arms. "Izzy, you've always worked hard. I know you've always been the one to have all the answers, and I'm sure you will. Right now, it's Daddy's turn to give Duncan a bath."

"Okay, okay." Izzy said as he was fine with it as he took his baby son into his arms and carried him off.

"Mom, what do you think is going on?" Susan asked.

"Well, I don't really know, honey." Susan said. "From what I do know, children seem to provide more power to digimon than adults. That might be why those four kids were pulled in, but I do wonder why those four specifically." Exactly what everyone else is thinking, and there's no clear answer. There might only be one way to get those answers.

...

Musuko

Later that night, Musuko was up in his room and thinking about what he's going to do. He's decided that he's going to go to the Convention Center to get answers, but he still needs to figure out how he's going to do that. That was when Davis came up into his room.

"Thought I come to see how you're doing." Davis said.

"On the fact that I'm grounded or the fact that I can't go to the Digital World?" Musuko questioned.

"Both." Davis teased.

"Dad, I know what I did was wrong, but don't you think this is important?" Musuko asked.

"I do, but even we didn't do something like that back in the old days." Davis said.

"It's just... I can't do nothing. I just don't feel right about it, even if I don't get what's going on." Musuko said. Davis was actually glad to hear that.

"I get it." Davis assured him. "When I first went to the Digital World, there was so much I didn't know or understand. I wasn't sure what to do. Then, when I saw that your mother was in danger, I didn't really think about it. I just acted. After that, things began to fall into place and I began to understand more and more."

"So, what are you saying?" Musuko said.

"I think it's great that you're not thinking about what's going on and you want to take action to help others." Davis said. "I think that shows you're really brave for a little kid. I'm proud of you for doing that, but I wish you do it in a way that won't get you into some serious trouble. Now try not to cause anymore." That was all he said before he left the room. Musuko knew his father believed in him. His father is proud that Musuko is a stand-up guy, but still wants him to stay safe. Musuko surely doesn't want to let him down.

"Musuko, what are you thinking?" Veemon asked.

"I'm sorry Mom and Dad. Veemon, we have to go." Musuko said.

"But how are we even going to get to the Convention Center? It could be dangerous for a kid so young to be out at night." Veemon said.

"That's why you're putting your new skill to use." Musuko said. After a some time has passed, Musuko waited until the time was right. When it was, he snuck out through balcony that lets them oversee the water of their beach house and rode on Veedramon to where they need to go. Musuko knows this is something he just has to do.

...

The Convention Center

Musuko arrived at the Convention Center, and it was almost time to learn the truth. He waited for the others to show, but it was beginning to look like that none of them had the guts to sneak around their parents and face this.

"Looks like it's just us." Musuko said as he was sure they would come, but now it looks like it's just him and Veemon.

"Not quite." Musuko looked around and couldn't believe it. All of them were there. Benson, Mason, and Natalie actually showed up.

"You guys came!" Musuko said as he was glad that they did.

"Well, we do deserve to know the truth." Mason said.

"And if this is something so important, we can't just ignore it." Natalie said. Musuko was glad to hear that. Whatever is going to happen from here, they're going to have the courage to face it.

"So, what do we do now? Who are we suppose to meet?" Benson said. That was right when their digivices began to shine in a bright light just like before. The Digital World was calling to them again, and they're going to get answers as to why they are the ones chosen for whatever this is. Maybe the reason is because this is their destiny. They'll find out soon.

...

Upon arriving into the Digital World, the kids soon find themselves at a guarded fortress. Was it all just a trick? In order for them to learn the truth of whatever is going on, they must break through. The answers might be inside.

Next time: Invade the Fort
