Last time, Musuko and the kids finally got some answers. They met the spirit of the one who chose them: Yukio Oikawa. He informs them that they were chosen because they were young children. The energy of young children is what helps digimon grow. They were also chosen because they have inherited the power of the crests from their respective parents. He also informs them of a great evil coming. To prove they are capable, Hudiemon challenges Musuko and Veedramon.

The Real Enemy
Hudiemon wishes to see the strength these kids possess. She needs to be sure if someone so young really has the power to save the world. With so much at risk with the fate in the hands of children, its understandable to be doubtful. Hudiemon and Veedramon stood facing each other with everyone else watching, including the parents back in the real world.
"Hudiemon, is this really necessary? These children are special." Oikawa said.
"I know that, but I must tell for myself." Hudiemon said.
"Bring it on. We're not afraid to fight. Right, Veedramon?" Musuko said.
"You said it." Veedramon said. "Come on, let's do this. I'm ready to rumble." Neither of them were really afraid of a fight. They were ready to go. What none of them know was that there was one other digimon there. He kept himself hidden from the others. This particular digimon was named Vilemon. He watched what was going on and stared at them like he was planning some trouble.
"Come now. I will allow you to have the first move." Hudiemon dared.
"One move is all I need!" Veedramon claimed. He charged right at her like a dinosaur. He had his teeth out and was going to take a bite, but she flew straight up and avoided him. Hudiemon flew around with Veedramon swinging his claws around. She avoided every attack thrown at him. Her ability to fly gives her the advantage.
"V-Nova Blast!" He unleashed his attack, but Hudiemon flew right over the attack.
"I believe that was more than one move." Hudiemon said. Veedramon tried to attack her again, but Hudiemon swung her leg around and gave her a powerful kick in the head. Veedramon swung his claw at her, but Hudiemon flew around again with Veedramon unable to land a hit against her.
"Veedramon isn't looking too good." Patamon said.
"Hudiemon is too fast for him." Biyomon said.
"Well, those two better think of something or else there's no way they can win this." Natalie said. Veedramon seems to be at a complete disadvantage here. That doesn't mean he and Musuko are going to back down.
"Come on! We're not going to lose to a butterfly! We'll never be able to live it down!" Musuko cheered.
"Foolish boy." Hudiemon said. "Perhaps this will have you convinced otherwise."
"Infinity Dream!" Hudiemon flapped her wings and unleashed a gust of scales. They came over Veedramon and he suddenly had a hard time moving.
"This attack of mine usually helps ease pain, but it can also be use as a poison or paralyze the enemy." Hudiemon said. This is bad. Veedramon was already having a difficult time against Hudiemon, but now he looks like he can't move at all. It was even worse when Hudiemon flew at Veedramon again and gave him a powerful kick that knocked Veedramon down.
"Veedramon! Veedramon!" Musuko called. "Come on, Veedramon! We can't lose! Get back up and fight!" Veedramon was trying, but Hudiemon's scales was making it difficult for him to move.
"I believe this is over." Hudiemon said.
"No way!" Musuko said as he tried to keep Veedramon fighting, but it wasn't looking good.

The Real World
"No way! No way my son's partner is not going down that easily!" Davis encouraged as he and the other parents were watching.
"Davis, you are aware that we're trying to get our kids back home, right?!" Matt said. He was, but that doesn't mean Davis couldn't encourage his son. "Izzy, shouldn't you be opening a gateway or something like you did last time. We need to get them out." He said, but Izzy seemed rather distracted himself. "Izzy!" Matt shouted and snapped Izzy out of his thoughts.
"Huh? What?" Izzy questioned.
"Izzy, we need to get our kids." Mimi said.
"You're right. I got distracted by everything Oikawa said." Izzy said as he tried to get back to work. As he was working, Sora looked up at the screen and noticed something.
"Wait a minute. Izzy, can you zoom in?" Sora asked.
"I think so. Why?" Izzy said.
"Zoom in right there. I see something." Sora alerted. Izzy zoomed in to where Sora was pointing. That was when they noticed Vilemon there. "What's that digimon up to?" None of them liked how that digimom was just standing there and watching their kids. Something isn't right.

The Digital World
"Get up, Veedramon!" Musuko encouraged as he didn't want to give up the fight just yet.
"I believe this is over." Hudiemon said. "Perhaps Oikawa was wrong and you really don't have the power to save the world. After all, you are just a small child."
"No! We can fight!" Musuko said as he was still brimming with energy. "I'm not backing down, and neither is Veedramon. I know my buddy can keep fighting because nothing can stop us. Dad told me that anything is possible. If I really have this crest of miracles thing, it must be true." Musuko seems completely unhindered or bothered by anything that has happened. "Veedramon, you can keep fighting! Let's show her that anything really is possible!"
"I hear you, Musuko." Veedramon said as he was able to fight through the paralysis. Hudiemon was astonished. Veedramon had trouble moving earlier, but now he's able to move once again. "We can fight. We can take anything that comes our way."
"How can this be?" Hudiemon mumbled. "They still seem to have the will to fight despite the rough start. How can this boy be so brave and still willing to fight when he's so young?" All of them watched and were impressed to see Musuko and Veedramon could keep fighting, but do they really have what it takes.
"Let's end this!" Veedramon said.
"Cutting Shoot!" Veedramon twirled his arms around and unleashed a series of blades. Hudiemon flew around to try and avoid each attack that was thrown at her, but she was getting the feeling that something was different about before.
"Maybe another dose will put an end to this." Hudiemon said as she was unleashing her scales once again.
"Not this time." Veedramon said as he was ready for that attack now.
"V-Nova Blast!" Veedramon unleashed another attack and had it burn right through Hudiemon's scales. She tried to shield herself from the flames, but that was when Veedramon had a chance and took it.
"Hammer Punch!" Veedramon gathered power into his fist and swung it like a hammer, smashed it against Hudiemon. That punch packed a lot of force behind it that Hudiemon was flung across the fortress and smashed into a wall. That looked like it hurt a lot. Everyone was impressed with Veedramon's sudden burst of strength. As Hudiemon dropped to the ground, she could really feel the power behind the attack.
"How? How could a small child...and his digimon could hold such power?" Hudiemon questioned.
"That was amazing!" Natalie said.
"Yeah it was! Veedramon was all like slice, boom, and pow!" Mason said.
"Way to go, Musuko! You guys were great!" Benson cheered.
"Tell us something we don't know!" Musuko said. Hudiemon was rather impressed herself. She might be starting to see what Oikawa was talking about.
"Are you convinced now?" Oikawa said.
"They are still being developed, still rather young, but it seems they are filled with great potential." Hudiemon said. "They might still have some ways to go, but maybe they do have what it takes." That's good to know. It seems like Hudiemon might be convinced. However, they might need to put that power to the test right now.
"Kids! Kids!" Izzy called on their D-3s.
"Is this more of them telling how worried they are and how we shouldn't get involved?" Musuko said as he was starting to get annoyed with all of this.
"Kids, there's a strange digimon watching you. It's a digimon named Vilemon, and I don't think he's there to play." Izzy claimed.
"I guess that's me." All of them looked up and saw Vilemon came out of hiding. "I was just simply enjoying the show, but I had to see it for myself. When I heard that children might be getting in the way, I didn't believe it. Now that I have, I think this is hilarious. Even so, you're no match for what's to come."
"Wait. Is that the evil we were warned about?" Palmon questioned.
"Is he? He's not really that tough." Biyomon claimed as none of them were really taking this serious. Vilemon didn't look that powerful or strong.
"You kids have no idea what you're up against." Vilemon claimed. "You might as well just give up or now or you will face a power the likes of which you've never seen before. Surrender now or face a terrifying wrath?" He warned them, but the kids just laughed. They thought this was hilarious and that Oikawa really oversold this great evil.
"Well, let's save the world." Musuko said as he thought this was amusing. "This ended up being easier than I thought."
"I've got him. Come here, you little twerp." Veedramon said as he tried to get Vilemon. Just then, a geyser of fire erupted and the force from it knocked Veedramon back. None of them expected that. The flames were intense as they tried to resist the heat, but those flames were formed by something powerful.
"I never said it was from me." Vilemon said with a smirk. There was someone else far more menacing than Vilemon standing right in the flames. "Allow me to introduce the master of mayhem, the one who brings great destruction, and who has conquered the darkness. I present to you...Daemon!" The flames dispersed and revealed the face of the enemy that was who they were really meant to fight. The kids were faced with a digimon that had purple wings and wore a red mantle. Everything about him looked demonic.
"Daemon?! I had no idea it was him!" Oikawa said as he has met that digimon once before. Daemon just gave off this impression that he was evil and dangerous. Him just standing there made the kids a little nervous. He didn't really do anything. He just stood there and looked around.
"The Digital World... It's been a long time since I've been here, but it seems not much seems to have changed." Daemon claimed. "But now that I am back, everything will change soon." This is all kinds of bad.
...
The Real World
The parents were still monitoring what was going on, but they all couldn't believe what they were seeing. Especially Davis, T.K., and Kari. They faced Daemon once before and thought he was gone.
"I don't believe it. Kari... T.K... It's him!" Davis said.
"It can't be." Kari said.
"It's really Daemon. He found a way back." T.K. said. They never thought they would actually see Daemon again, but there he is standing right before them. Seeing this, T.K. hurried over to warn the kids about what they're up against. "Kids! Listen to me!"

The Digital World
"Kids, listen! You need to get out of there!" T.K. called through their D-3s. "That digimon is far too powerful and far too dangerous for you!"
"Huh? What's he talking about? Who is he?" Musuko questioned.
"That is Daemon." Oikawa clarified. As Daemon looked around, he soon spotted Oikawa.
"Well, well. It's you again." Daemon said as he recognized Oikawa. "You look different. Did you lose some weight? You do look a little light." He joked as he chuckled at Oikawa. "Isn't this a strange stroke of fate or what? You attempted to get in my way last time, and now it looks like you intend to get in my way this time."
"Last time? You know each other or something?" Natalie questioned.
"We've crossed paths once before." Oikawa said. "Of course, it was back when I wasn't a friendly man. Things are different now, but it looks like not enough time has passed. When we last saw each other, some of your parents attempted to stop him. He was too powerful for them to stop, and they were unable to send him back to the Digital World because he is capable of traveling freely between the two worlds. That is why they banished him to a place known as the Dark Ocean. I thought he was gone for good."
"Yes, the digidestined thought I was gone for good, but you can see that I'm back." Daemon said. "Actually, I should thank them for sending me to that realm. I might have been trapped there for a long time, but it gave me plenty of time to absorb the dark power of that world...and make it my own. With it, I'm even stronger than ever before, especially after all this time. What's more is that they won't be able to do that again. I can now travel open gateways from there as well!" Daemone is even stronger now? They certainly didn't like the sound of that. Daemon is much more powerful, can travel between worlds, and their parents could barely defeat him. How can Musuko and the kids do what their parents couldn't? "So, these are the offspring of the children that got in my way before." He took a good look at each one of them and could sense the power. "I do sense the power of those infamous crests flowing through each one of you. These children that are going to defeat me? I have my doubts at the moment. Luckily, they won't be around much longer."
"You don't scare us!" Musuko claimed.
"Actually, this guy is rather scary." Mason said as the others were rather nervous about him.
"Well, I'm not scared! Get him, Veedramon!" Musuko encouraged.
"No!" Oikawa said, but they ignored his warning. Veedramon tried to attack as he breathed out fire at him, but Daemon didn't even flinch. Daemon just simply widened his eyes and the flames were completely snuffed out. Not only that, but Veedramon felt like something smashed against him and he was sent flying. He crashed on the beach and he turned back into Veemon.
"Veemon!" Musuko called as they all hurried over to him.
"I don't believe it! He didn't even move!" Natalie said as they were all stunned by what they witnessed.
"All he did was widened his eyes and Veedramon was sent flying." Biyomon said. They are in serious trouble now. Daemon had them completely outmatched.
"Listen to me, you children must leave at once. You don't have the power to defeat Daemon yet." Oikawa said as the butterflies that formed his body were beginning to break apart and he escaped himself. "Hudiemon, make sure they escape."
"I will. Attack!" Hudiemon called as she flew over to the children to protect them. The other digimon that worked with Hudiemon all tried attacking Daemon, but their attacks were doing nothing.
"How pathetic. This is real power!" Daemon claimed as he had torrents of flames burst from his hands and he had them incinerate those who opposed him. The kids watched in horror while Vilemon laughed in delight. Daemon truly is powerful and dangerous. None of them have the power to defeat him now. Hudiemon is well aware of that, but those kids are the only chance. That is why she will do what she must to make sure they survive.
"You kids need to go now." Hudiemon said as she gathered all the power she could into her wings.
"We're not just going to leave." Musuko said as he doesn't want to back down from this.
"This is not the time nor the place for you to face him. You still have ways to go before you can defeat him." Hudiemon said as she readied herself with Daemon moving closer to them. "Remember, the fate of both worlds is in your hands." Daemon got an attack ready and aimed right for them. "Go!" She shouted as she turned to the kids and unleashed the biggest gust of wind that she could. The wind was like that of a tornado as it carried them off the ground.
"Hudiemon!" Musuko called, but it was too late for her. Daemon unleashed another attack and Musuko watched in horror as Hudiemon was completely swallowed up by the flames. It was truly horrible. Daemon is greatly powerful and dangerous. As the fort went up in flames and was destroyed, Daemon's terror has only just begun. The kids have to find a way to defeat him, but how when their parents couldn't? Now that they know the face of their enemy, how can they possibly hope to defeat something so terrifying?
...
Still stranded in the Digital World and shaken after what they witnessed, the children wonder what they're going to do about Daemon. At the same time, Vilemon is hunting them down. Can they pull themselves together and find the strength to fight?
