Glad to spend some time with his brother and his father, Mason and his family went camping. Wanting to help his older brother reconcile with his father, Mason reminds Malcolm that they are still brothers. Even though Etemon attacked, Mason's true heart allowed Togemon to digivolve into Lillymon with her defeating Etemon. That whole experience also helped Malcolm as he and Michael could reconnect like any father and son could. Now, what is going to happen from here?

Repair the Gates
"Defeated?! All four of them were defeated?!" Daemon shouted in frustration. Vilemon, fearing Daemon's going to take his rage out on him, informed him that all four of the evil digimon that Daemon brought back have been defeated by the kids. "I don't believe this! I brought them back only so they could fail me!"
"Can't you just bring them back again, Master?" Vilemon questioned.
"What would be the point when they are just going to fail me again?!" Daemon complained. "Those meddlesome children are only growing stronger and stronger."
"And I'm afraid it's only going to grow worse for you, you're infernal greatness." Daemon turned around and was met with a digimon known as Vademon. "It is just as you were forewarned. Those children are going to cause serious problems for you. They will be the reason you do not spread darkness and destruction across both worlds. I'm afraid it's only going to get worse."
"Spit it out, Vademon. If you have something to tell me, just tell me." Daemon said.
"Well, I was doing some research, and I believe we have greater issues." Vademon said.
"Tell me about it in a moment. For right now, we must prepare our invasion." Daemon said. "While those children have been busy dealing with Myotismon and those other failures, I've had my forces grow and found fierce digimon to serve me. It is now time to begin my plan. Vilemon, go to the Digital World. It's time for Toropiamon to bear his fangs."
"Toropiamon? Are you sure about that?" Vilemon questioned, but Daemon glared at him and gave him a good scare. "You got it, Master! You're the master, and that means your word is absolute." Vilemon said as he flew off and did what Daemon told. As that happened, there was one other digimon sitting on a rock and watching this.
"That little rodent... I better make sure he doesn't screw things up."
...
The Real World
Meanwhile, everyone was going on with their lives like everything was normal. Daemon is still out there, and there's no telling what he could attack with, but the digidestined will have to be ready for it. At the moment, Mason was a little more focused on what was going on with his mother. He could see Mimi was on the phone and that there was a variety of emotions.
"Who is she talking to?" Malcolm questioned.
"I don't know." Mason said. "She keeps switching between happy, laughing, and seems a little freaked about something. Maybe something happened while we were camping with Dad."
"Best not to bug her about it. She usually decides when to tell us when she wants to." Malcolm said. Mason just hopes that isn't a bad thing.

The Motomiyas
"I made your favorite, Musuko." Kari said as she was able to make some breakfast and served everyone some pancakes.
"Sweet! I'm going to have a dozen, a whole fifteen!" Musuko said.
"A dozen is only twelve." Davis said.
"And you be lucky to even get half of that." Kari said.
"Breakfast is a time for food, not for math!" Musuko complained and just helped himself to some eating.
"Musuko, you and the others have managed to get your digimon to digivolve further, right?" Koji questioned. "Do you think you're strong enough to beat this mean Daemon yet?"
"Not yet, but we'll get him one of these days." Musuko claimed.
"Yeah. Daemon is going down." Veemon said. "Now that we beat Myotismon and the others have managed to become ultimate, we're getting stronger and stronger."
"Now, now. Enough of that." Kari said as she was being stern. "I don't want to hear about this during breakfast. You two are just kids. You shouldn't really be thinking about that sort of thing and should be just enjoying life."
"How can we not think about it? Our digimon can already reach the ultimate, not to mention that Daemon is still out there." Musuko said.
"He's got a point there. If Daemon was able to bring back Myotismon and our old enemies, no telling what else he can do." Davis' Veemon said. "Besides, it is so cool how each of you were able to defeat those guys that gave us trouble in the past. You beat them like you've done it time and time again. You kids are really chip off the old blocks."
"Hey, are you saying we're old?" Davis said. Everyone was having a good laugh, but Davis saw Kari was actually getting upset. "Uh... Maybe we should talk about something else. Besides, you kids need to eat your breakfast and get ready for school." All of them tried to act like a normal family and continued with their breakfast, but that stopped when Kari's phone went off and saw it was Izzy.
"Hi, Izzy. What is it?" Kari said as she wondered why he's calling so early. "Uh... You need to speak to Musuko?" That was rather weird, but she put it on speaker so everyone could hear.
"Hello?" Musuko said.
"Musuko, I know this is coming out of nowhere, but you need to come down to my lab now. The other kids will be on their way." Izzy said.
"Izzy, Musuko has school. Whatever this is will have to wait." Kari said.
"I know, and I'm really sorry, Kari." Izzy said. "I wouldn't do this unless it wasn't important, but I need the kids to get down here. I think I might have found the source as to why the digital gates aren't responding." He did? That did sound rather important. "The kids have to get down to my lab. I'll take full responsibility for them not being at school, but I don't think this can wait."
"You mean I don't have to go to school? Awesome!" Musuko said as he likes that he can skip it for today. Kari certainly didn't like this. Not only is he not going to school, but he's putting himself in danger once again. She can only hope things are going to get better before they get worse.

Izzy's Lab
Izzy called each of the parents and asked for the kids to come on over to his research lab. Izzy claims he found what is the problem with the gates and it is rather important to figure out what it could be. Without those gates, it will be difficult for humans and digimon to travel between worlds. In order for there to be stability and order between both worlds, those gates would help.
"Izzy, I don't know about this." Mr. Takenouchi claimed. "Are you sure we can't alert the authorities about this? I don't like the idea of sending my granddaughter and her friends to handle this."
"Don't underestimate your granddaughter, Professor." Izzy said. "Those kids have proven to be much stronger than we thought. Besides, we can barely get a working gate. We won't be able to help the proper authorities get to where they need to go, but the kids can do it. This is really the only way."
"We're here!" Musuko called as he and the kids showed up just like Izzy wanted.
"Thanks for coming." Izzy said. "I'm sorry to pull you out of school, but this is important and I don't think it can wait."
"Don't apologize. You're talking to kids that don't really want to go school, especially since we've got a tough teacher." Musuko said as none of them really thought it was a problem.
"So, what's going on? You said you might have found what's causing the digital gates to malfunction?" Natalie questioned.
"I have. Take a look here." Izzy said as he pointed to his screen and found a strange signal.
"There's some sort of jamming signal coming from the Digital World." Jim said. "We believe that might be the reason for the gates malfunctioning. We don't know what it is, but it's large and might be growing."
"If this keeps up, we're looking at some serious problems for both worlds." Izzy said. "Normally, we would let the proper authorities handle this, but we can't get a working gate open to send them there. That's why we called for you kids."
"Our digivices!" Benson said. "You told us that they can open up a gate and we can use that to travel to the Digital World."
"Exactly." Izzy said. "Before, traveling between the two worlds wasn't a problem. We were able to take you kids with us and such, but lately it has become a problem."
"But if there's a problem with the gates, what makes you think we can open one and get to the Digital World?" Musuko questioned.
"Because it will be different. Not only could you kids be able to open a gate, but it might become stable." Izzy said. "The digivices you hold have three functions: digital, detect, and discover. That's why we called them D-3s. Those features can help open a gate and stabilize one for you guys to travel through. Sort of like how a submarine has the equipment and the ability to navigate through the vast ocean while a ship can only cover the surface."
"And since you kids are the only ones with these old digivices anymore, you're the only ones that can handle this situation. Only ones with a D-3 can go." Tentomon claimed.
"I get it. That's why you called us for help." Benson said.
"And these new features allow us to communicate with you." Izzy said. "We'll monitor what's going on with you kids. If we say get out of there, you need to get out of there."
"So now you're asking us to save the day. About time you started taking us serious." Musuko said as he felt good about finally getting some respect. "Just leave it us and tell us where to go."
"Okay, but be careful." Izzy said.
"I still don't like this. They're just kids." Mr. Takenouchi said.
"But they're brave kids with the power to do so. You and our parents didn't like it when we were doing this, but you trusted us. Now it's time we do the same." Izzy said. Mr. Takenouchi saw Izzy's point and went along with this.
"Don't worry, Grandpa. We'll be okay." Natalie said.
"And we'll be with them the whole time." Biyomon assured.
"Great. Now let's get going." Izzy said. "One of you just needs to hold your digivice up at a screen to open the gate, and the rest of you can follow after."
"You mean like this?" Musuko said as he took his and held it up near a computer. It appeared to have worked as the gate way was opening right before them.
"Oh, I love this. This brings back so many good memories, like the time we..." "Not now, Tentomon." Izzy interrupted.
"Good luck, kids. Remember to be careful." Izzy said. Feeling like they're getting their first big mission, the kids got themselves ready as they held up their digivices with their digimon near them. A light shined from the computer and all eight of them were pulled inside traveling straight to the Digital World.
...
The Digital World
It seems that Izzy's theory about the D-3s were right. They were able to open a stable gate for the kids to travel through. Since digivices haven't actually been needed in years, they really were the only ones that could open a stable gate. Suddenly, they all felt themselves thrown out of the gate and crashed on the ground.
"Watch the legs! I need them for soccer!" Musuko complained.
"Hey, check it out!" Patamon said as they all saw what they came out of. "We really did come out of a T.V. like Benson said."
"That's a T.V.?" Natalie questioned as it looked so old and retro compared to what these kids are used to. "Why is it so boxy?"
"Why does have buttons and nobs?" Mason questioned.
"What are those things sitting on top of it?" Musuko questioned.
"I'm amazed it even works." Benson claimed. They all stared at it with curiosity since they never seen something in such an old style.
"Kids? Kids, can you hear me? You made it to the Digital World in one piece, did you?" Izzy asked as he communicated with them through their digivices.
"Yeah. We're all here. We're just a little curious about this thing that's suppose to be a television?" Musuko said.
"Forget about T.V. for a moment. We'll be monitoring you guys, but you have keep your eyes open. Do you see anything that seems out of the ordinary?" Izzy asked. The kids looked around to see if they could find anything that seemed strange. Suddenly, Veemon spotted a flash of pink electricity pass by them.
"Did that count as strange?" Veemon said.
"I think it did." Palmon said.
"Remember to be careful kids." Izzy reminded.
"Yeah, yeah." Musuko said as he just brushed the warning off. They followed after the electricity to see where it was even going. They made their way through the forest until they spotted something that really caught their eye. Just up ahead was a massive reptile-like digimon with plant-like features. It looked like it was absorbing energy straight out of the ground with it's tail and claws planted right in the ground.
"What is that thing? I've never seen a digimon like that before." Natalie said.
"Mr. Izumi, are you seeing this?" Benson communicated.
"I am. I've never seen that digimon before either. I'm pulling it up on my analyzer right now." Izzy told them. "I've got it. That digimon is named Toropiamon. Watch yourselves with this one. That digimon is dangerous, and it's at the ultimate-level."
"I've heard of tropical disasters, but this looks ridiculous." Palmon claimed.
"What's it even doing?" Veemon questioned.
"It looks like it's absorbing something from the ground." Benson said.
"It seems to be absorbing some of the Digital World's energy." Izzy said. "By doing that, then converting it into it's own, it's sending out a pulse wave that's like an EMP and shortening out all the digital gates. That's why there's been such constant irregularities with the matrix and programming of the gates."
"What?" Musuko questioned as none of them understood what he just said.
"Toropiamon is stealing power from the very land and is sending out a special energy that's causing all these problems." Izzy said.
"So all we've got to do is move the big guy." Musuko said. "How tough can that really be?"
"Tougher than you think. Look who else is here." Patamon said as he pointed at someone else. All of them looked and saw Vilemon was there as well.
"Vilemon! That must mean Toropiamon is working with Daemon!" Benson said.
"Figures it would be his fault." Natalie said. "So, what are we going to do? We need a plan."
"Plan, shman. Let's go!" Musuko said.
"Yeah!" Veemon agreed as they both charged right in with the others annoyed at his rash actions.
"Keep up the good work, Toropiamon. Master Daemon is going to be very pleased." Vilemon claimed.
"Vilemon!" Vilemon turned around and spotted Musuko and Veemon heading towards them. "You're going down, you giant bat! You and that oversize mutant lizard!" Musuko called as he and Veemon charged right into battle.
"I knew you kids were going to show up eventually. That's why I brought some help. Come on out, boys!" Vilemon called. That was when something began to emerge out of the ground and appeared right in front of Musuko. It ended up being a digimon named Woodmon, and he sounded mad. Woodmon tried to smash its branches against Musuko like a hammer, but Veemon was able to push Musuko out of the way just in time.
"Are you two okay?!" Benson called as the team regrouped.
"That's why you shouldn't just rush into battle like that without a plan." Natalie lectured. All of them stood together as multiple Woodmon came out of the ground.
"Ha! I came prepared for you brats! Get them, boys!" Vilemon ordered.
"Leaf Slider!" All of the Woodmon attacked by firing leaves, razor-sharp leaves, at the kids. The attack was widespread and nowhere for them to run. Seeing their partners in danger, the digimon sprung into action.
"Biyomon digivolve to...Birdramon!"
"Palmon digivolve to...Togemon!"
Once Birdramon and Togemon digivolved, they both shielded the kids. Birdramon ignited herself in flames and all of the leaves burned away. As for Togemon, she just simply blocked all the attacks thrown at her. Being a plant herself, it didn't really bother her.
"Not bad, but you'll have to do better than that." Vilemon said.
"Good thing we can do better." Musuko said as they were all kicking it up a notch.
"Veemon digivolve to...Veedramon!"
"Veedramon digivolve to...AeroVeedramon!"
"Patamon digivolve to...Angemon!"
"Angemon digivolve to...MangaAngemon!"
"Birdramon digivolve to...Garudamon!"
"Togemon digivolve to...Lillymon!"
All four of them digivolved to their highest levels. When they did that, Vilemon and the other enemies were all surprised to see that. Now they felt like they were in real trouble.
"V-Wing Blade!"
"Wing Blade!"
"Flower Cannon!" Three of them attacked with their special attacks and easily defeated all of the Woodmon. MangaAngemon helped out as well as he took his sword and slashed against each of the Woodmon he could. They were clearly no match for the good guys.
"Oh no! Oh no!" Vilemon said as he wasn't liking this.
"You're next, Vilemon, unless you tell us what this is all about!" AeroVeedramon claimed. Vilemon thought he was in real trouble here, but that was when something happened. Toropiamon began to move and looked directly at the kids and their digimon. All of them were nervous about this as they stared right at Toropiamon's face and it was like staring at the face of a snake. You're a little nervous to move because any sudden movements could cause it to attack. They didn't need to move as Toropiamon opened it's mouth and was charging an attack.
"Move!" Benson called. Garudamon got the kids out of the way and they all flew away. Toropiamon fired a powerful blast that razed through the ground and left a powerful scorched path on the ground.
"Whoa..." Musuko said as they were all astonished by the power that attack had. It seems repairing the gates might take longer as they are faced with a powerful and dangerous digimon. "This might be harder than we thought."
...
In order to restore the digital gates to normal, the children must defeat the powerful and dangerous Toropiamon. Toropiamon is still absorbing the power of the Digital World, and there might be more to this than meets the eye.
Next time: Toropiamon's Power
