In a terrifying battle, the children were forced to try and fight one of their own as Cyberdramon was out of control. Among the chaos, Koji arrived out of fear for his big brother. That was when the truth was revealed. Koji tapped into some sort of power that he and Salamon were able to tame Cyberdramon. With their help, they were able to defeat Tankdramon and Vademon, and it was revealed that Koji is the fifth child.

The Dark Wolf's Decision
"We are coming to you live from the destruction of yesterday's attack. As you can see, a lot of damage was done." The news covering about the battle that went on between Tankdramon and the kids. Despite how they won, a lot of damage was done. The streets were torn apart and buildings were crushed. When the battle was over, the kids went straight home. You can't imagine how scared, relieved, and happy the parents were when they saw their kids come home. It was like they never wanted to let them go again. You can also imagine how surprised Davis and Kari were when they saw Koji with his own Gatomon, and that he was the one everyone has been looking for. "The digimon that attacked caused a lot of harm. As to the nature of this attack, it is left unclear. On top of that, we have seen other digimon fighting each other. A lot of people are having concerns because digimon have been seen fighting each other a lot lately, and it's bringing back a lot of bad memories. We don't know what to think of all this, but joining us now is Tai Kamiya, a diplomat, with his own digimon, Agumon, here to speak on behalf of the digimon. Mr. Kamiya, what can you tell us?"
"First of all, I want to make it clear that what's happening here changes nothing between the relation between humans and digimon." Tai said as he and Agumon were on the news.
"That's right. There all kinds of good and bad digimon, just like there is with humans." Agumon said. "Humans have fought each other and caused problems around the world. This is no different."
"The truth of the matter is that all this fighting is really be done by one single digimon named Daemon." Tai said as he decided to come out with the truth. "Daemon is an evil and malevolent digimon that desires to spread chaos and destruction to both worlds. His reasons, I'm afraid we do not know. Also, the digimon that have been fighting are a brave bunch that are doing what they can to protect us all. Of course, this sort of thing should be left to local authorities, but then again I've been fighting with digimon since I was twelve."
"Oh boy. I hope he doesn't make thing worse." Kari said as she and Davis were watching. "The last thing we need are more kids being encouraged to fight."
"Don't worry. Tai knows what he's doing." Davis said, but Kari has her doubts about it. That could be just because they know now that both of their sons are being pulled into this fight. It was bad enough for her that it was just Musuko. Now it's Koji? Meanwhile, Koji was just outside. His new Gatomon was trying out her new body as she kept jumping around and throwing strikes in the air.
"How does it feel to be Gatomon?" Koji asked.
"I always knew I would one day, but I never thought it would be like this." Gatomon said. "I can't believe that we were the ones that everyone has been looking for. Why do you think it didn't hit us until now?"
"I don't know." Koji said.
"If you think this is cool, wait until you see the action." Musuko said as he and Veemon stepped outside and joined them. "That's where it gets real serious."
"You like being Gatomon now? It's hard to believe you're a champion now." Veemon said.
"Oh yeah?" Gatomon said and actually punched him in the arm. "Did that feel real?"
"Yep." Veemon said in pain. "By the way, thanks again for helping me out back there. You really got me to snap back to my senses."
"I had practice." Gatomon teased. "Still, I'm not quite sure what I did. How did Koji and I do any of that?"
"Well, each of us inherited the power of our parents' crests. If I got the one that belongs to Dad, Koji must have the one that belongs to Mom." Musuko said.
"Huh?" Koji questioned as he didn't get it, but Musuko wasn't exactly sure himself how to explain it.
"Don't trust Musuko to give you explanations." Gatomon teased.
"Whatever. The point is that you're the one we've been looking for Koji. What happened to us yesterday was just the start." Musuko said. He actually likes the idea that he'll get to fight alongside his brother, but Koji is a kind spirit. He's not sure if he's looking forward to a fight.
...
Daemon
"So, the identity of the fifth child is a little boy named Koji?" Daemon said. "That's very good, Vilemon. Now that I know who the child is, we can move forward with our plans."
"I'm so glad to hear that you're pleased, Master." Vilemon said, especially since it means he won't have to face Daemon's wrath.
"By the way, where is ShadowWereGarurumon?" Daemon questioned.
"I don't know. He's been acting rather strange lately." Vilemon said. ShadowWereGarurumon has always been a humble and loyal servant to Daemon, but it looks like that might be coming to be questioned now.
...
ShadowWereGarurumon
'What's wrong with me?' ShadowWereGarurumon wondered as he just aimlessly roamed around Odaiba. 'I suspected that kid might be the one that we've been searching for, and yet I did nothing about it. Ever since I first laid my eyes on that kid, something about me has been off.' It was like Koji kept running through his mind. It had something to do with how Koji didn't seem afraid of him or had any negative feelings towards him. Koji acted like a genuine nice guy towards him. That's something ShadowWereGarurumon has never experienced before. 'It doesn't matter. Now that it's been proven, it's only a matter of time until Master Daemon knows. I've got to prove my loyalty and get that kid before anyone suspects a thing.'
...
The Motomiyas
"Aren't you tired?" Koji asked as Gatomon was still going.
"Nope. I still feel light on my feet." Gatomon said. The two of them have been outside in their own backyard all day.
"Koji! Dinner will be ready soon! Come inside!" Kari called.
"Okay, Mommy!" Koji called. Looks like the fun will have to end soon. However, Koji still had a lot to think about. He took out his new D-3 and stared at it. It might be pink, but he doesn't seem to mind. On top of that, Koji feels like everything is different now.
"Something wrong, Koji?" Gatomon asked.
"I don't think Mommy likes that I was the one everyone has been looking for." Koji said. "Did you see her face when we told her and Dad? She didn't look rather happy about it."
"She does seem to worry about Musuko." Gatomon said. "It's probably not easy for her knowing that both of her boys are going to be fighting the forces of evil, but we can't let that stop us. You don't have to be scared or worried yourself, Koji. Now that I feel so much stronger, you know I'll do whatever I can to protect you." This is all still rather new to Koji, and he isn't sure what to think of all this. Just then, he heard something land down in the sand. He looked and was surprised to see it was ShadowWereGarurumon again.
"We meet again, kid." ShadowWereGarurumon said.
"Oh, hi! It's you again!" Koji said as he seemed happy to see him. Not the reaction ShadowWereGarurumon was going for. "It's nice to see you again. I'm sorry, but I don't think I ever got your name."
"Uh... It's ShadowWereGarurumon." He introduced as he wasn't sure what to do in this situation.
"That's a mouthful." Gatomon claimed.
'What's with this kid? Why does he seem glad to see me instead of the opposite? Did his brother not warn him about me?' ShadowWereGarurumon wondered.
"So, what are you doing here?" Koji questioned.
"I was just... Wait! What am I doing?!" ShadowWereGarurumon said as he tried to snap back to his senses. "Aren't you scared of me? Just look at me!"
"No, I'm not scared." Koji said. "Mommy told me that it's not nice to judge others based on how they look. Just because you look like you're mean and scary doesn't mean that you are." ShadowWereGarurumon was baffled. Never has he encountered someone that thinks that. Everywhere he went before joining Daemon, digimon took one look at him and instantly got scared by him. Regardless, Daemon is searching for this kid and ShadowWereGarurumon is loyal to Daemon. He must take this kid down... Doesn't he?
"Hey, what's with you?" Gatomon questioned. "What are you even doing here in the first place? It's weird and a little creepy that you know where we live. So, what do you want?"
"I... I..." ShadowWereGarurumon wasn't sure how he should answer that. Something in ShadowWereGarurumon was telling him not to hurt the kid, but he had to for Daemon. Meanwhile, Kari and the rest of the family were about ready for dinner.
"What is Koji doing? I told him dinner is ready." Kari said.
"It looks like he's talking to someone. Doesn't he know stranger danger?" Kari's Gatomon questioned. Musuko had a look. When he saw it was ShadowWereGarurumon, Musuko took immediate action.
"Vee, it's ShadowWereGarurumon!" Musuko called with Veemon jumping straight into action. Musuko opened up the door with his Veemon charging right at ShadowWereGarurumon.
"Vee Headbutt!" Veemon charged right at ShadowWereGarurumon and tried to attack him, but ShadowWereGarurumon easily knocked him away.
"What are you doing?!" Koji questioned.
"Koji, get away from him! He's working for Daemon" Musuko warned with everyone on guard around him now.
"You're making a mistake." ShadowWereGarurumon said.
"The mistake you made was coming here and messing with my brother." Musuko said as he pulled out his D-3. "Veemon, let's teach this dog to play dead."
"Veemon digivolve to...Veedramon!"
"Veedramon digivolve to...AeroVeedramon!"
The moment Veemon digivolved, he tried to attack ShadowWereGarurumon. He tried to smash his fist against him, but ShadowWereGarurumon jumped away from him. ShadowWereGarurumon jumped at AeroVeedramon and tried to land a powerful spin kick at him, but AeroVeedramon blocked it and knocked him back. AeroVeedramon tried attacking him with the blades of his body, but ShadowWereGarurumon kept flipping back.
"Shadow Claw!" ShadowWereGarurumon attacked by slashing his claws against AeroVeedramon and knocking him down.
"Come on, Koji. Let's get in there and joining the fight." Koji's Gatomon said as she was ready to try out her new power in a real fight.
"But I don't want to fight him. He doesn't seem bad." Koji said. AeroVeedramon tried attacking him once again to crush ShadowWereGarurumon, but ShadowWereGarurumon tried to attack him some more, but AeroVeedramon swung his head up and knocked him away with ShadowWereGarurumon hitting the ground.
"Nice shot, AeroVeedramon. Let's take him down while we still can." Musuko said.
"I've got this." AeroVeedramon said as he was getting an attack ready.
"Dragon Impulse!" AeroVeedramon unleashed a shockwave that took the form of a dragon. Koji couldn't watch this anymore with him running over to get between the fight.
"Koji!" Davis called.
"Koji, come back!" Veemon called, but Koji wouldn't listen.
"Musuko, please stop!" Koji said with him giving everyone a good scare by getting in the way of the attack. It was too late to stop the attack. Koji was going to get seriously hurt from the attack, but ShadowWereGarurumon did something unexpected. He pushed Koji out of the way with there being no time to stop the attack to protect himself. He got hit by the attack rather hard and was knocked into the sand.
"ShadowWereGarurumon!" Koji called as he hurried over to him.
"Koji, wait!" Kari called.
"What is he doing?" Her Gatomon questioned.
"Why did ShadowWereGarurumon tried to protect Koji? I thought he was a bad guy." Musuko said.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Koji questioned.
"I'm fine." ShadowWereGarurumon said as he was able to pull himself together and got back up. "You're actually concerned if I'm hurt? Why do you care about me?"
"Why wouldn't I? My brother says you're a bad guy, but you don't seem like a bad guy." Koji said.
"Koji, get away from him! He's dangerous!" Musuko called.
"Wait. This is rather strange." Kari said as she could see it. "I'm starting to see what Koji is seeing. ShadowWereGarurumon doesn't really seem like an evil digimon. Why else would he try to protect Koji just now?"
"Are you sure you're not hurt?" Koji asked.
"What is it with you, kid?" ShadowWereGarurumon questioned. "Why are you worried about me? Why is it you're not afraid of me?"
"What is it with you? Why are you finding it hard to believe that Koji is a nice kid that just simply cares?" Koji's Gatomon questioned.
"It's not easy for me." ShadowWereGarurumon said as he sat right in the sand as he decided to share his little story. "Every time someone looked at me, they instantly feared me. They took one look at me and were afraid of me without even knowing me. It was like that everywhere I went. Then, I soon met Daemon. He convinced me that I exist to spread fear. That's why others are afraid of me. That's why I don't get it." He said as he looked at Koji. "You're looking right at me, but you don't seem to be afraid of me."
"You poor thing." Kari said as she was actually feeling sorry for him. "It must not have been fun having everyone so scared of you just because of how you looked."
"Just because you look mean and scary doesn't mean that you are." Koji said. "I wasn't scared of you at all."
"Really? I... I never had anyone be nice and not scared of me." ShadowWereGarurumon said as this was all new to him.
"Hold up!" Musuko called. "Are we really trying to be friends with the enemy here?"
"Musuko, there's clearly more to this than what meets the eye." Davis said. "That's really the whole point. He might look dark and scary, but he might actually be a nice guy."
"I know what it's like to be on the wrong side." Kari's Gatomon claimed. "I once served Myotismon before meeting Kari. He had me convinced that I was evil and joined him, but I knew it was wrong in my heart. It must have been hard having everyone judge you the way you have, but it doesn't mean you're evil. Clearly, there are those who aren't scared of you. With that in mind, it proves that Daemon was wrong about you. You don't have to fight with him now if you don't want to."
"Hold on. Are you really suggesting I turn against Daemon?" ShadowWereGarurumon questioned.
"It does sound like that, doesn't it?" Musuko questioned.
"ShadowWereGarurumon, you didn't like having everyone be afraid of you all the time." Koji said. "It sounds like Daemon was a real meanie and tricked you so that you would work for him. You are a nice digimon because you just tried to help me. You know I'm the one you're looking for, but you didn't attack me. You never did anything to hurt me. It doesn't sound like something a bad digimon would do." Was Koji right? Was ShadowWereGarurumon really a nice digimon and he never knew because everyone always feared him.
"It doesn't really matter." ShadowWereGarurumon said. "Vilemon knows too, and he's sure to have informed Daemon about you."
"You just proved it again. You warned us about that." Davis said.
"ShadowWereGarurumon, please help us. You won't have to be feared anymore. Isn't that what you want?" Koji offered. ShadowWereGarurumon could barely believe what was happening to him. For so long, he thought he was an evil digimon. All it took was shortly meeting this boy to have everything changed around for the better. Koji really is a little angel. Musuko couldn't believe this was happening as AeroVeedramon turned back into Veemon.
"Are we really going to trust him?" Veemon whispered.
"I don't know. Koji seems to." Musuko said, and he certainly trusts his kindhearted little brother. Koji's the first person that doesn't see ShadowWereGarurumon as evil. Could it really be possible that ShadowWereGarurumon could really become a friend to them? He's not sure himself now, but this could end up becoming something quite helpful to the kids.
...
Now that Daemon is aware that Koji is the child he's looking for, he must destroy him so that the children will never be at full strength. As he unleashes an attack on the city, a sweet little boy has to decide what he's going to do.
