Last time, ShadowWereGarurumon tried to put his doubts aside and fulfill Daemon's desires by attacking Koji. When he got there, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Koji's kindness prevented him from doing so. Even when Musuko and AeroVeedramon fought him, Koji tried to help him by placing himself at risk, yet ShadowWereGarurumon saved him. It has ShadowWereGarurumon wondering if there really is goodness deep down inside him. He might end up being a big help to the kids.

Daemon's Assault

As most were sleeping during the night, Daemon was at work. Now that he's aware of the identity of who the fifth child is, he doesn't plan to let him escape from me. He can now focus on finding Koji in an attempt to destroy him. Standing at the top of a building, he can see his conquest will soon begin.

"Soon, the child will be mine." Daemon said as his forces stood behind him. "Come sunrise tomorrow, the digidestined's final days will be upon them. There will be nowhere safe for any of them." Daemon is getting ready for his next big attack, and it sounds like he might be entering his endgame. If he gets his hands on Koji, the poor boy will meet his doom, and tomorrow will soon be upon them.

The Next Morning

"What? You can't be serious? ShadowWereGarurumon might be switching to our side?" Natalie questioned. Musuko was on the phone with her, and told her all about what happened the night before. "Isn't that the same digimon that helped out Vilemon before?"

"I know it sounds crazy, but something about Koji really got to him." Musuko said. "I don't understand it myself, but something Koji said or did got this guy to think of the idea to switch sides."

"Maybe it has something to do with the crest Koji inherited." Natalie said. "According to Uncle T.K.'s books, the one Koji should have is the one of light."

"Maybe, but he had a chance to attack my brother and protected him instead." Musuko said. "If ShadowWereGarurumon really switches to our side, we'll have our own secret agent in Daemon's forces."

"Musuko! Could you get ready?!" Kari called.

"Sure, Mom!" Musuko called. "I'll meet up with you later. We're all going to meet up and talk about what we're going to do now that Koji is the fifth child."

"See you soon." Natalie said as the two of them ended the call. With all that's going on lately, they need to come up with some sort of plan to defeat Daemon before things get any worse. As everyone else was getting ready, Koji stared out a window and couldn't stop thinking about ShadowWereGarurumon. If Daemon suspects that ShadowWereGarurumon has betrayed him, ShadowWereGarurumon could be in real trouble.

"Koji? Are you okay?" His Gatomon asked.

"I was just thinking about ShadowWereGarurumon. Do you think he's going to be okay?" Koji asked.

"I'm sure he is. He's one tough digimon." Gatomon assured. Koji can only hope that she's right.

"Koji, let's go. We should get going and meet with the others." Davis said. Koji went along as all of them gathered in a car and was driving off. They all drove through the streets and were hoping that things would go well. What they didn't know was that Daemon was beginning his plans. Things were rather tense, not exactly a familiar feeling with this family. "Hey, why don't we listen to some music?" Davis said as he turned on the radio and tried playing some music to break the tension. "Look, I know we're all a little tense, but things will work. They usually do."

"I suppose that's true." Kari said. "We just got to have hope for the best." They're all trying to be upbeat, but that didn't last long. Suddenly, they saw a crowd of people running in terror as they saw a bunch of Bakemon causing trouble in the streets and were attacking people. They knew from this that it had to be Daemon's doing.

...

Mason

"Come on, boys." Mimi said as she and her sons left their place and was going to meet up with the others. That was when they heard a car horn and saw Tai with Tyson pull up towards them. "Tai! This is a surprise!"

"Well, Tyson and I were driving by. Thought maybe I see if you guys would like a lift." Tai said.

"That sounds awfully nice of you." Mimi said. The two of them continued to act like this was completely casual when they're trying to keep their newfound relationship a secret. Of course, the boys were smart. They could tell that something seemed off about this.

"Is it me, or has Tai and Mom been around each other a lot lately?" Mason questioned.

"He has..." Malcolm said as he found this to be really suspicious.

"Well, since Tai is here, we don't want to be a rude." Mimi said.

"Is there even enough room for all of us?" Mason questioned. They were trying to work it out, but that was when they heard trouble coming their way. They looked and saw a bunch of digimon known as Troopmon attacking the area and attacking the innocent.

"That doesn't look good! Palmon!" Mason called with his Palmon running off for battle.

"Palmon digivolve to...Togemon!"

Togemon charged right at the Troopmon and tried to stop them from doing any damage. With one powerful swing, she knocked a good amount of them away. However, she looked and saw that there were other digimon attacking the area. This wasn't looking good.

Daemon

It wasn't just one or two areas being attacked either. Daemon had the digimon that served him attack the whole city. As his digimon spread chaos and terror through the whole city, Daemon watched with glee alongside with Vilemon and ShadowWereGarurumon. Vilemon took pleasure in it, but ShadowWereGarurumon wasn't taking delight. He had a lot to think about, but the revalation from before is having him question everything.

"Master Daemon, I don't understand." ShadowWereGarurumon said. "I thought you wanted just the kid. Why are you attacking the whole city like this?"

"What's wrong with attacking a city? We're here to spread chaos and misery. That's what we're here for." Vilemon said.

"They'll be no place for that boy to hide from me, not when all my forces are wrecking the entire city." Daemon said. "Besides, there's one thing about these humans. They can be so...righteous. By that, the boy will surrender to me if he believes it will save others. All that is needed now is to find him." He claimed as he can see his victory was almost in sight. As for ShadowWereGarurumon, he worried what might happen to Koji now.

...

The Ishidas

Daemon's digimon were attacking the whole city. They were everywhere and making themselves known now. They were even storming into apartments and attacking people to try and find Koji. One of the buildings being attacked was the same apartment building Natalie and her family lives in. Daemon's digimon busted down the door to their apartment, but they were in for a surprise.

"Blue Blaster!"

"Spiral Twister!" Biyomon and Gabumon attacked together and blasted the digimon that were trying to bust into their apartment.

"Nice going." Matt said. "Hey! Hurry up! We need to get out of here!" Matt and the digimon were trying to keep the enemy away while Natalie had her Biyomon digivolve into Garudamon to help them escape. Natalie climbed through the window and jumped right into her claws, but Toby was rather scared.

"Toby, let's go! We need to get out of here!" Natalie said.

"I'm scared." Toby said as he held Tsunomon close. The poor little boy was too scared to move.

"It's okay, Mommy is right here and will help you." Sora said as she helped Toby get through. "Natalie, help your brother." Natalie reached out for Toby as Sora passed him through the window. It was rather scary, but Natalie was able to grab him. Sora threw him over while Natalie pulled him over. "See? That wasn't so bad. Here I come." Sora jumped across and now all three of them were safe. "Matt, we're all safe! Come on!"

"Dad, hurry!" Natalie called.

"We're coming!" Matt called as Gabumon and Biyomon made sure they wouldn't be stopped. Matt pushed their couch in the way as they all hurried. Biyomon and Gabumon made it and that just left Matt. Just as the enemies tried to attack, Matt jumped across and made it with Garudamon carrying them all away.

Benson

"Hand of Fate!" T.K. and his family were being attacked as well. That's why the enemy got a double dose of Angemon. T.K. and Benson both fought back with their own Angemon and kept the enemy away while their family tried to make a run for it.

"It's clear! Go!" T.K. called. Mina grabbed her daughters hand and they both tried to make a run for it. "Benson, you should go with them. I can keep them busy long enough for you to escape."

"No, Dad! I'm not just going to leave you behind!" Benson said. There might be no point. They heard the girls scream and saw the enemy digimon have cut them off.

"Mina! Lila!" T.K. called as neither he nor Menson might be able to help them in time. Just then, Stingmon and Aquilamon came in out of nowhere and bashed against all the enemy digimon. "Stingmon and Aquilamon?!" T.K. surely didn't expect to see them to show, but he's glad he did. Especially when they saw a car pull up and saw that it was Ken and his family.

"T.K.! Mina! Are you and the kids okay?!" Yolei said.

"We are thanks to you." Mina said.

"It's happening everywhere. The whole city is in a state of panic." Ken said.

"Cool!" Tio said.

"Not cool, Tio! The whole city is in danger!" Cassie argued.

"But that means we get to take action and fight just like Musuko and the others!" Tio said as he was looking forward to that.

"Absolutely not!" Yolei denied.

"Speaking of which, I hope Koji is okay. I have a feeling this is all about him." Benson said as he could just tell. While it's good the digidestined are helping each other, the one they really need to worry about is Koji.

...

Izzy

"Izzy, are you seeing this?" Jim asked as he, Takenouchi, and Izzy were at the lab and were already alerted of what was going on. "It's chaos out there."

"I know. This has to be Daemon. He's trying to draw out Koji, and eliminate his enemies at the same time." Izzy said.

"Izzy, what about Clare, Susan, and Duncan?!" Tentomon said out of great concern. "We've got to go and get them! We need to make sure that they're safe!"

"No need to worry, Tentomon. We're already here." They looked and saw Clare came in with her family safe. "We do have precautious in case of emergencies like this one. I also had a little help." That was when she showed that Cody with Uria and Jen with Jimmy coming in.

"Jen! Jimmy!" Jim said as he was glad to see his family was safe as he rushed over to them.

"Uncle Jim!" Jimmy called as he was glad to see him as he rushed right into his uncle's arms.

"Where's Joe?" Jim asked.

"He's a doctor and people are being attacked. Where do you think he is?" Jen said.

"Cody, what about you? Where's your wife?" Professor Takenouchi asked.

"She already left for work this morning." Cody claimed. "She's safe. She called me and she was able to stay safe. I thought it might be best to bring Uria here for safety."

"It's madness out there. I don't understand why this is happening." Uria said.

"It's those evil digimon. They're the ones that are behind all of this. I guess they're done waiting around." Susan said. "Dad, you and the others are going to do something about them? Aren't you?"

"Of course we are." Tentomon said.

"I say we come out of retirement and get in the fight." Armadillomon said.

"You're right, but we can't act rash about this." Izzy said. "We need to locate Daemon. He's the one behind all of this. If we want to put a stop to this, we have to strike at the head of this whole thing." He was right about that. Everything is getting out of hand with these attacks. They have to bring an end to Daemon before more people and digimon get hurt.

...

Musuko

"V-Laser!"

"V-Nova Blast!" ExVeemon and Veedramon attacked together. They blasted the Bakemon and vaporized all of the ones that attacked him. Both of the Gatomon fought back as they both landed fierce strikes against them.

"Kari, listen to me!" Davis called. "Take Koji and get somewhere safe! Musuko, you go with them! If these are Daemon's digimon, they'll be after him! You need to keep your mother and your brother safe."

"But what about you, Dad?" Musuko said.

"Don't worry about me. Your old man still has plenty of fight in him." Davis said. "Right now, you need to focus on keeping your family safe. That's what a man does." Musuko didn't want to leave his father behind since he's family too, but he trusted his father. He knows how tough and strong he really is.

"Musuko, he's right." Kari's Gatomon said as she pulled on his arm. "We need to get Koji somewhere safe!"

"Fine." Musuko said. "Veedramon, let's get out of here!" Veedramon hurried over to them. The boys climbed on to Veedramon. Kari was a little hesitant to leave her husband behind, but he gave her an assured look that he would be fine. Kari climbed on with Veedramon ready to go, but that was when a torrent of flames cut off their path and kept them from going anywhere.

"You can't leave when the guest of honor has just arrived." They all looked and saw Daemon himself was there. Knowing he himself was there, they had to be ready for a real fight.

"Daemon!" Musuko growled as he could just imagine all the digimon that got hurt and are gone because of him.

"Hand over the boy." Daemon demanded with Koji getting scared.

"Over our dead body!" Veedramon said.

"V-Nova Blast!" Veedramon attacked, but Daemon didn't even flinch.

"Haven't you learned anything?" Daemon said. He held out his hand and was able to stop the attack. He didn't just stop it, but also sent it right back. The attack smashed right into Veedramon and knocked all of them right off him. Both Gatomon caught the boys and kept them safe, but Kari wasn't so lucky.

"Kari!" Davis called with anger. No one does that to his wife. "ExVeemon, get him!" ExVeemon flew at Daemon and tried to put a stop to him.

"Evil Inferno!" Daemon unleashed a torrent of flames that blasted against ExVeemon. The flames were so intense that exVeemon couldn't handle it with him being forced to turn back into Veemon. Daemon really is much stronger than when they fought all those years ago, and they barely managed to defeat him.

"Mom!" Musuko called as he hurried over to her. "Mom, are you okay?!"

"I'm fine, but you need to take your brother and run." Kari said.

"No one is going anywhere unless the boy comes with me." Daemon claimed as he looked right at Koji and Koji was getting scared. "This is all because of you, boy. People are getting hurt because of you. If you surrender to me, it could all end."

"Don't listen to him, Koji! Veedramon, let's take him down once and for all!" Musuko called with Veedramon in full agreement.

"Veedramon digivolve to...AeroVeedramon!"

"V-Wing Blade!" AeroVeedramon tried to fight back as he launched an another attack Daemon, but Daemon didn't even flinch. The attack landed down on him, but Daemon didn't move or anything. It's as if the attack didn't do anything against him.

"Pitiful." Daemon unleashed another powerful blast that knocked AeroVeedramon all the way into a building. After all their battles, Musuko still isn't strong enough to defeat Daemon. He's just simply too powerful. Koji saw what happened and AeroVeedramon looked badly hurt. He didn't like this at all and he's starting to think it's his fault since the bad guys are after him. "Now for the child." Daemon moved closer as he wanted to take Koji right then and there.

"Master Daemon!" Daemon looked behind him and saw ShadowWereGarurumon was joining in.

"ShadowWereGarurumon? As you can see, I do not need your help." Daemon said. "Since you are here, grab the kid and make sure he doesn't escape." ShadowWereGarurumon would have followed Daemon's orders before, but meeting Koji had him rethink everything. Koji was the first one that wasn't afraid of ShadowWereGarurumon, and saw the good in him. He just couldn't bring himself to hurt Koji now.

"Shadow Claw!" ShadowWereGarurumon surprised him by attacking him from behind. When that happened, ShadowwereGarurumon got between him and Koji in an effort to protect Koji.

"Leave the boy alone." ShadowWereGarurumon said.

"You dare betray me?" Daemon said with him sounding quite angry. "That is a mistake you are going to make."

"The only mistake I made was listening to you in believing I was evil." ShadowWereGarurumon claimed. He leaped right at Daemon and tried to attack him, but Daemon just simply held out his hand and fired another blast that struck Daemon. After that, Daemon closed the distance on him.

"Hammer Knuckle!" Daemon smashed his fist down like a hammer and smashed ShadowWereGarurumon into the ground. He too looked to be in pain. Koji looked around and saw so much pain happening to those he cares for.

"I'll teach you what happens when you betray me." Daemon said as he lifted ShadowWereGarurumon up and was going to hurt him even more.

"Stop it! Stop it, please!" Koji shouted and got Daemon's attention. "It's me you want. If you just stop hurting everyone, I'll go with you."

"Koji, no!" Kari called.

"Koji, you can't!" Davis called as he tried to get to his son, but Daemon unleashed some flames to keep him away from Koji.

"Koji, no!" His Gatomon called as she grabbed him. "You can't do that!"

"He can, as I expected, and you can come too." Daemon said as he tossed ShadowWereGarurumon aside and was going to make that deal. "You have yourself a deal." He said as he formed a barrier around the two of them and began to fly in the air.

"Koji!" Musuko called. "Hey! Bring back my brother!" Musuko called as his whole family was scared on what's going to happen to him now.

"Koji, no! You don't know what you're doing! He'll destroy you!" ShadowWereGarurumon called, but Koji and Gatomon just kept getting further and further away. "Koji!" What are they going to do now? How are they going to rescue Koji? Has Daemon won?

In their last effort to save Koji, the kids come together to fight with everything they have. Koji needs to learn to tap into the true power of the crest of light, but how can he tap into the power of light itself?
