After the battle with Daemon was done, everyone was coming to rips with the damage that has been done. Daemon left a negative impression on the city, and many were worried that it will greatly affect the relations between humans and digimon. As Tai and his friends were discussing as to how they can keep the peace between the two worlds alive, they were suddenly attacked. Before anyone could do anything, all eight of them disappeared and were taken away. According to Kari's Gatomon, it's the work of an old enemy.

Past Trouble
The strange and mysterious light from before caught the attention of many. They all wondered what it could have been. Knowing that it happened near Izzy's lab; Yolei, Cody, and the other parents and children hurried over to where it happened. Yolei and her kids were the first to get there. When they did, she was shocked and surprised to see the giant crater in the ground.
"Mom, what happened?" Tio asked.
"I don't know, but that's what I'm about to find out." Yolei said. "You all just wait right here. I'll talk to Daddy and find out what happened. Hawkmon, watch the kids." She hurried out of the car, and that was when Cody and his family showed up themselves. "Cody! You saw that light, too?"
"I think the whole city did." Cody said with both of them hurrying over. "Davis! Ken!" Cody called with them hurrying over and noticed that Davis isn't looking so good.
"Guys, what happened here?" Yolei questioned. "Wasn't Kari and the others meeting up here. Where are they?" Nobody was answering, but seeing the digimon without their human partners wasn't a good sign. "What's going on?" She questioned as she felt a knot forming in her stomach. That was right when the other parents and children showed up.
"Benson!" Mina called and hurried over to her son.
"Mom!" Benson said with Mina wrapping her arms around her boy. "Thank goodness you're okay." She said, but then noticed that someone was missing. "Wait. Where's your father?"
"Mina..." Davis said as he snapped out of his miserable state. "He... They're... They're all gone. They were all taken." Davis claimed. That was all they needed to hear to have a sense of dread come over them.

Hyperspace
Meanwhile, in an unknown hyperspace, something strange was floating around in there. it looked like a piece of land with giant roots coming out of it like tendrils and a strange and eerie building right on top of it. Inside that building was the same house that Tai and the others were in, but now it's being used as their prison sell.
"Hey! Let us out of here! You can't keep us here!" Mimi called. "What have you done to Palmon and the others?! You'll be sorry if you hurt any of them."
"Hahaha, even as adults, they are so amusing to watch." Someone said as they were monitoring their prisoners. "What a splendid reunion this is."
"We have them right where we want them. I say we take the chance to destroy them right now. Let's get rid of them and have our revenge in one fierce blow."
"That sounds too boring."
"Besides, we still need them."
"They're both right, my serpent friend. We'll have our revenge soon." The one in charge said as he stepped forward and revealed himself to be Piedmon. Piedmon is an evil digimon that Tai and the others fought back when they were just children with three other evil digimon. "We have been brought back and we're even stronger than ever before. My fellow Dark Masters, MetalSeadramon, Puppetmon, and Machinedramon; we shall soon have our revenge on the digidestined."
"It better be soon. This has been in the making for a long time." MetalSeadramon claimed.
"I'll say. It's hard to believe those are the same bratty kids that ruined all of our fun." Puppetmon claimed. "I wonder what kind of fun we can have with them now that their adults."
"You're too young for that kind of fun, Puppetmon, but we still have some use for them." Piedmon said.
"Piedmon, we better get going while we still can." Machinedramon said. "I want to get what we're after so that we can destroy them and have our revenge."
"Agreed. Time to set out." Piedmon said as their own little ship flew through hyperspace. Somehow, the four dark Masters have come back to life, but now that they have their old enemies in the palm of their hands, what else could they be after?

The Real World
The digimon told everyone everything. They told them how the light just came out of nowhere and was unexpected. What they certainly didn't expect was for their old enemies to return and take all eight of them prisoner.
"So, you're saying that four enemies you believed have defeated somehow came back, and took Tai, Joe, and all the others?!" Jen said as she sound irritated.
"I'm afraid that's right." Agumon said.
"And you say it was the Dark Masters? You mean Piedmon, Puppetmon, MetalSeadramon, and Machinedramon?" Cody questioned. "Four powerful mega-level digimon? I thought you guys defeated and destroyed all four of them."
"So did we." Gabumon said as all of the digimon felt miserable knowing old enemies are back and they just managed to take away their closest friends.
"if you were able to beat them before, why couldn't you do that now?" Jen said as she grabbed Gomamon and lifted him up in frustration. "You're even stronger now than you were all those years ago! How could you let them take my husband and all the others?!"
"We tried!" Gomamon said in defense.
"Not hard enough!" Jen accused.
"Jen, stop it!" Ken called. "It was a surprise attack! None of them expected this, and it seems like they didn't get much of a chance to fight back!"
"Everyone calm down. The last thing we need is for everyone to turn against each other." Cody said. This was a difficult situation. Everyone is greatly upset and don't quite understand what is happening. They all thought their troubles were behind them, but it looks like there's something else coming to cause them problems.
"Natalie...?" Toby said as he walked over to his big sister and looked ready to cry. "Are Mommy and Daddy gone?"
"It will be okay, Toby." Natalie said as she tried to be a good big sister and comfort her little brother.
"Yeah. We'll figure this out and bring all the mommies and daddies back." Gabumon said as he and Sora's Biyomon tried to comfort the kids. After all, at the moment, they might be all those kids have now.
"What are we doing waiting around here?! Let's go and get them back!" Musuko said as he was determined to rescue his mother.
"Yeah! Let's go and get them!" His Veemon agreed.
"Easy, kids." Ken said. "I know you want to try and save them, but we don't even know where they are or fully understand what's going on. Until we know more, there isn't much that can be done."
"Jen, my wife and Tai have just been taken!" Davis argued. "You can't expect me to stand around and do nothing while they're being held prisoner by some evil digimon!"
"No. I expect you to focus on caring for your two boys, who are probably scared that their mother is missing." Ken countered. When he put it like that, he looked at both his boys and knew Ken had to be right.
"But we defeated the Dark Masters." Agumon claimed. "How are they back? What do they want?"
"I'm afraid that it can't be good." All of them looked and saw a flock of butterflies come together and formed Oikawa.
"Mr. Oikawa!" Benson said as the kids were glad to see him. Those were seeing him in person for the first time almost couldn't believe their eyes. It was really like seeing a real ghost. "Thank goodness you're here! Something has happened to our parents!"
"Yes, I'm well aware. That is why I'm here." Oikawa said.
"Mr. Oikawa..." Cody said as he was the most shocked and didn't know what to think. Having been connected through his father, Cody had a kinship with him.
"Cody, you've grown. You look like your father." Oikawa said as he enjoyed seeing Cody again. "I wish there was time to talk, but there isn't. I believed our troubles were stopped when Darmon was defeated, but I was wrong. He wasn't the only source of the disturbances and chaos in both worlds. Lurking in the shadows was another evil that was just as powerful and just as dangerous."
"You mean the return of Dark Masters." Ken said.
"Yes. They're return spells trouble for everyone in both worlds." Oikawa warned.
"Just who are these guys anyway?" Mason questioned.
"Don't you remember the stories?" Benson said. "The Dark Masters were four powerful digimon that managed to take control of the Digital World. They built this thing called Spiral Mountain. To stop them, our parents made their way through Spiral Mountain and stopped them. They managed to defeat and destroy each of them, but all four of them were powerful megas."
"And now they've somehow returned." Oikawa said. "Them taking their old enemies were an unforeseen event, but something must be done at once. That's where you kids come in."
"Us?" Musuko questioned.
"That's right." Oikawa said. "The five of you are together now. Musuko, Koji, Mason, Benson, and Natalie... You five must stop this enemy because they threaten to destroy both worlds. They will finish what Darmon started." That wasn't good. They had a hard time against Daemon, but now they have to deal with four powerful digimon that one the same thing and rescue their parents?
"What can we even do?" Musuko said. "We don't know where these creeps are to rescue our parents."
"You won't be able to chase after them under normal methods, but there is another." Oikawa said. That was when a digital gate opened up and something big was coming out of it. This digimon was huge. It might resemble a bee, but it was massive. "Allow me to introduce your new comrade. This is Cannonbeemon."
"Cannonbeemon?!" Natalie said as they were all amazed at this digimon.
"Look at that thing! It's like a space cruiser!" Mason said.
"I don't even know what that is and I agree." Palmon claimed.
"Now, we must depart." Oikawa said as the steps to a brand new adventure is about to begin.
"Wait jus one minute!" Mina argued. "My husband was just taken from me, and now you want to take my son and niece on some dangerous adventure! Absolutely not!"
"Oikawa, we understand what you're saying, but you can't just take the kids away." Yolei said.
"It's too dangerous. It makes more sense for the adults to go." Cody said.
"Humans and digimon are working with the proper authorities. We should inform them of a kidnapping and let them handle this." Clare said.
"I'm afraid this is an enemy that people like the police can't help with." Oikawa claimed.
"But didn't we just prove that we can handle ourselves just fine?" Musuko questioned.
"Musuko, it's not that easy." Ken said. "Now that so many of us have been taken, we have to think of what we're going to do and make sure you children are taken care of. It's not like how it was in the old days. We can't just rush into battle."
"But they were our parents! We have to do something!" Musuko said.
"Yeah. I say we track them down and kick Dark Master butt." Veemon claimed. "After all, Patamon and I can Digi love to mega ourselves."
"That might be so, but it might not matter." Clare claimed.
"These Dark Masters have far more experience. You two are still rather green." Ken said. "They won't be easy to defeat. Oikawa, we must discuss this matter before we do anything."
"I understand, but we need to get moving." Oikawa said. "I wish to respect your wishes, but we must leave no later than tomorrow." That doesn't really leave a lot of time. Enemies from the past have returned once again, but the kids need to do something quickly. What can they do?

With time running out, and their parents getting further and further away, Musuko and his friends need to act. Of course, they must do something before departing.
