Start of a New School Year

Time has passed. The day that all of the former Casper High students were looking forward to has finally come: the first day of attending their new school, Bayville High. The sun was rising up from the horizon, indicating that the new day has dawned. At the Xavier Institute, there was a buzzing sound disturbing someone's sleep. From the covers, a hand emerged to reach for the clock that was causing the noise. It only took a few minutes before the clock was finally turned off.

With a groan, Danny slowly threw off the covers before he made his way to the restroom. However, he sees the "occupied" sign before he decided to wait until whoever was in the restroom was finished. Eventually, Scott got out of the restroom before he sees Danny waiting for it as he said to him.

"All yours."

"Thanks."

Soon enough, Danny was fully ready as he got to the kitchen. To the ghost boy, it was a new beginning at a new high school. He had a feeling that faculty of Bayville High won't turn a blind eye to bullying, just as the former faculty of Casper High had done. He sees Jazz already there, which caused him to roll his eyes. Mainly because Jazz was always the early bird of his family.

"Finally, you're here." Jazz joked.

"You're always up before me." Danny comments.

"True."

Then, the X-Men arrived to the kitchen as well, ready for breakfast. Then, Evan nudged Danny as he asked him,

"Nervous?"

"Actually, a little." Danny admits.

"Like, why is that?" Kitty asks in curiosity.

"Well, I'm going to be attending a new high school as of today." Danny said. "With the exception of you all, and everyone else from Casper High, I don't know everybody else."

Everyone who heard that understood what Danny said. After all, he was a new student at the Institute. Now, he'll be a new student at Bayville High as well. To the ghost boy, it was going to be a new beginning for him, at the very least.

Once everyone was finished, each of them grabbed their backpack before they headed out to Bayville High.

Upon arriving at his new school, Danny saw that Bayville High was bigger than his previous high school. Before he took a step towards the door, he heard two familiar voices calling to him.

"Danny!"

He turns around to see Sam and Tucker running up to him. Even they were amazed at the size of their new high school. The trio from Amity Park was standing 30 feet away from the front doors.

"You guys ready?" Danny asks while gazing at the school.

"Yeah." Tucker replies.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Sam said.

Soon, Danny, Sam, and Tucker walked into the building of Bayville High. In their perspectives, it was just as big inside as it is outside; larger than Casper High. Eventually, Scott's voice was heard.

"Hey guys! The office is this way."

Danny leads his friends to the office where Scott showed them. However, they saw a line that was composed of students formerly from Casper High as they were. The wait for each student wasn't a long one. Eventually, Danny got his schedule after Sam and Tucker did.

Once he stepped out of the office, he saw Kitty, who had already gotten hers due to being a student of Bayville High since her freshman year.

"Mind if I see?" she asks.

"Sure." Danny said as he handed his schedule to her.

Kitty looked it over before she said.

"Well, you, like, got two classes with Rogue, one with Kurt, and the rest without any of us."

Then she sees one factor that was important: his locker number.

"Hey. Like, your locker number is near mine and Rogue's." Kitty says. "I'll show you where it is."

Kitty leads Danny to the area where his locker number was located. There, he sees Rogue at her own locker before she opens it after inputting the combination.

After Danny inputs the combination of his assigned locker, he opens it easily before he places the textbooks he received during the enrollment period of the summer. Afterward, he closed it once more before Rogue quickly snatched Danny's schedule to compare it with her own.

"Hey!" he playfully shouts.

"Just wanna see what ya got." Rogue comments innocently.

It took only minutes for Rogue to compare Danny's schedule with her own, as she said.

"Well, looks lahke ya got math with Kurt as your first class. Then, ya got history and science with meh for ya third and fourth."

"Interesting." Danny said with a subtle intriguement.

Then, Rogue takes Danny's hand as she leads him to the school gym while saying.

"Come on. They're gonna announce who the new principal is."

In a different area of the campus, the Brotherhood was there as well. However, they were not so enthusiastic about being back in school as some of the students were. Todd was trying to catch a fly to consume but kept missing his target.

"Man, this bums, yo!" Todd conplains.

"Yeah. Why are we even back here?" Fred asks in a complaining tone.

"Lance knows why we should be here." Pietro said, gesturing to Lance, who had a toothpick in his mouth. "He'd like to get a certain Kitty stuck in a tree." The other boys begin to laugh. "K-I-S-S-I..."

Lance growled before he tried to backhand Pietro to shut him up. However, the speedster ran to get behind Fred. So, instead, Lance accidentally backhands Todd, causing him to grunt in slight pain. Then, something or rather someone caught Pietro's attention as he sees a redhead about to pass by them before he smoothed his hair backwards.

Jazz was walking through the hallway of the school after getting the directions where the gym was located. In an instant, she sees a slim boy who has white hair, similar to her brother's, while he would be in ghost form and wore skin-tight clothes.

"Hey, cutie." Pietro flirtatiously greets. "Never seen you here before."

Jazz rolled her eyes before she said.

"Duh! I'm new here!"

"Name's Pietro." Pietro introduces himself. "Say cutie, how about we go on a date after school? Just the two of us."

The other Brotherhood boys saw that Jazz wasn't amused as they snickered at Pietro, making a subtle fool of himself, before they heard her speak up.

"First of all, my name's Jazz." Then she got a mischievous smirk. "Secondly, I'll go out with you, on one condition."

"Name it." Pietro said with a flirty look as he leaned on a wall

"Once you've figured out where you last left your man parts at, give me a call, okay?" Jazz said while flashing a sarcastic smile before walking off.

Pietro looked like Jazz slapped him back and forth across the face as his jaw dropped, completely appalled while watching the redhead walk off. The other Brotherhood boys burst into laughter at Pietro's flirting failure. The white-haired mutant speedster never felt so embarrassed or humiliated before as he heard his friends continue laughing at him.

However, Todd had to push it as he taunted Pietro.

"Way to get burned, shovel-head!"

In an instant, Pietro felt like someone jabbed him in the gut before he angrily grimaced at Todd. The lanky boy stopped laughing when he saw Pietro looking at him. Suddenly, without warning, Todd was punched square in the face by Pietro so quickly and hard that one can imagine hearing the "ding-dong" sound of a doorbell upon impact.

While Todd was unconscious on the floor, Pietro stormed off to the gym, completely humiliated even further before the lanky kid woke up, feeling dizzy.

"Man, touchy!" Todd comments.

"Yeah." Fred said in agreement.

In the gymnasium, the bleachers were extended from the walls, allowing each student to have a seat. In one of the rows, a boy named Paul nudged Scott to get his attention. Looking to where Paul was pointing to, he sees Jean on her way to take a seat in the bleachers. At first, Scott had a smile before it disappeared when he saw her take a seat next to a blonde jock whom Scott knew as Duncan Matthews.

Danny arrives with Rogue before they both see Sam and Tucker wave to them. However, someone else catches both their sight. On one of the bleachers, there was a new girl who had light brown eyes, black hair that was short, and had violet highlights, wearing maroon pants, a beige long-sleeved top that exposed her midriff and black boots that were past the ankles. She looks up from her schedule to see the duo.

"Excuse me?" the girl asks in her British accent. "How long do these assemblies usually last?"

Unknown to Rogue, Danny started feeling uneasy as he saw this new girl; it was as if something wasn't right about her, but he didn't know why.

Then, Rogue answered to the new girl

"Oh, too long." Rogue takes a seat next to her. "But at least it gets out of class."

"Right. Class."

As Danny took a seat next to Sam and Tucker, behind Rogue and the new girl, the African boy noticed something off about Danny as he asked

"Something wrong, dude?"

"I don't know why, but that new girl is giving me very bad vibes." Danny says with worry.

Luckily for the ghost boy, Rogue and the new girl didn't hear him as Tucker said

"Why? I don't see anything wrong with her."

Sam saw a certain look in Tucker's eyes as she rolled her own and commanded him

"Down, boy! Keep your hormones under control."

Meanwhile, Rogue continued to talk to the new girl while looking at her class schedule.

"You're new." Rogue comments.

"Yes. I'm Risty Wilde. From Manchester, England." The new girl introduced herself.

"Ah'm Rogue." Rogue introduces herself. "Stick around. Ah'll show you where your first class is."

Meanwhile, in the streets of Bayville, Jack and Maddie were in the FFAV in pursuit of an ectopus that escaped from the Ghost Zone when the portal remained open.

While Jack was driving the vehicle, he spoke through the P.A. of the vehicle in an announcement.

"Never fear Bayville! The Fentons are on patrol!"

From the passenger's seat, Maddie partially emerged from the window to take aim with her Fenton Wrist Ray. She fires several shots at the ghost, all of them successfully hitting the intended target.

Suddenly, Jack pressed a button on the dashboard. It activates a mounted Fenton Thermos before the device sucks in the ghost and then merges into the vehicle.

"We got him!" Maddie shouts in excitement.

"Nice shot, honey!" Jack comments while high fiving his wife.

However, with only one hand on the steering wheel, Jack lost control of the vehicle as it slammed into a parked car, setting off the alarm. In an instant, they hear a bystander shouting in shock

"SWEET, MERCIFUL CRAP! MY CAR!"

Jack grabs the radio of the P.A. sheepishly as he said through it

"Erm... alarm systems are fully functional."

Maddie facepalms before she thinks to herself

"Maybe we should renegotiate our agreement with Danny."

Back at Bayville High, the Brotherhood boys arrived at the gymnasium. While Lance made his way to the bleachers, the others stayed behind near the entrance. As he took a seat next to a student while being directly behind Kitty, he leaned towards her as he said

"Hey, Kitty! Didn't see you there."

Kitty glares at Lance before she says with complete unamusement,

"Oh, look. It's the walking richter scale. Shouldn't you be erupting somewhere?"

At a distance, Fred, Pietro, and Todd chuckle at Lance's expense, which caused him to glare at them. Then, the superintendent spoke through the microphone

"And now everyone. Let's give a warm Bayville High welcome to our new principal, Mr. Edward Kelly!"

Edward, who was clad in a business casual suit, walked up to the podium while the crowd of students cheered as the two men shook hands. However, Lance smirked before he activated his powers, causing an earthquake. The tremors caused Kelly to lose his balance before falling.

After Lance stopped, Kitty glared at him, completely unamused with his actions before he waved at her. However, after turning away, the brunette couldn't help but chuckle at the new principal's mishap while Edward Kelly was getting up.

Seeing the reaction that he wanted to see, Lance did a "yes" gesture before he whispered to Kitty's ear.

"Want to see some real shaking?"

Lance activates his powers again; this time with more intensity. The tremors had enough power to cause the scoreboard to dislodge and then fall. Reacting quickly, Jean uses her telekinesis to alter the heavy equipment's drop zone to have it fall several feet behind the podium. Kitty glares at Lance once more before she scolds

"Lance?! Get a clue, okay?!"

Breathing a relieved sigh, Edward Kelly gets up before asking

"Since when is Bayville on a fault line?"

The students laugh at the man's joke. Then, there was silence as the new principal spoke up

"Anyway, I want to welcome you all to a new year."

Only the Brotherhood boys near the entrance of the gym were uninterested in listening to the speech.

"I know that filling the vacuum left behind by your previous principal, Ms. Darkholme will not be an easy job, but it's a challenge to which I am looking forward."

The silence still remained as Kelly began to finalize his speech.

"And that brings me to what I hope will be the theme of the coming semesters; meeting new challenges."

The speech continued on until Pricipal Kelly finished and then dismissed all of the students to their classes. In the hallways, Danny was looking for his first period class that he would have with Kurt. However, he was merely lost in where to go. Before asking someone for directions, he hears a southern feminine voice calling out to him.

"Danny! You're going the wrong way!"

Turning around, he sees Rogue catching up to him.

"Sorry." Danny sheepishly said while scratching the back of his head. "I'm pretty much lost."

"Ah'll show ya where it is." Rogue said with a small smile.

Right when the mutant goth began to lead him, they heard an adult male voice shouting in shock

"GULLIVER'S TRAVELS!"

Danny felt like time had stopped, knowing only one individual who would use book references in his language as he thought to himself in dread

"Oh no! Don't tell me it's..."

Turning around, he and Rogue see a portly, bald man who had a goatee and clad in the standard uniform of a janitor with cleaning equipment. To Danny, he was familiar, but to Rogue, it was first time seeing him. However, she glanced at Danny, seeing him look at the man with familiarity.

"Mr. Lancer...?"

"I'm just as surprised to see you here Mr. Fenton as you are of me." Mr. Lancer replies.

"You're here too?" Danny asks in shock.

"Of course." the portly man replies. "Apparently, since the Nasty Burger has refused my job application, I had no choice but to move here."

Danny's eyes widen in shock before Mr. Lancer spoke again.

"Unfortunately for me, this was the only job available since the principal and English teacher positions were already filled before my arrival. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have work to do."

As Mr. Lancer walked away while pushing the cart to perform his duties, Rogue turns to Danny as they walked off to where the latter's class was supposed to be

"Who's the bald guy with the pot belly?" she asks.

"That was Mr. Lancer, former vice principal and teacher of my old school." Danny replies.

"Ya mean one of the..."

Rogue paused upon seeing Danny's nod, automatically answering her unfinished question. Then, as they both saw the clock, Danny and Rogue picked up the pace as the boy said.

"I'll tell you more later."

"Yeah. Ah bettah get ta class, too!"

As Danny made it to the door while Rogue sped off to get to her own class, he walks in before the teacher saw him.

"I take it you're new here?"

"Yeah. I'm Danny Fenton. Sorry about being late, I got a little lost." Danny replies, out of breath.

"Quite alright."

After looking at Danny's schedule, the teacher of the classroom said to him

"Well then, Mr. Fenton, welcome to Bayville High. I'm Ms. Rodriguez. You may take a seat next to Mr. Wagner."

Danny takes his seat next to Kurt, thankful that there was someone he knew in the same class as him. Despite that Sam and Tucker weren't in the same class as he was, having Kurt here was better than nothing.

"So, how is this math class?" Danny asks Kurt.

"It's not bad." Kurt replies. "Trust me when I tell you, I've seen worse."

For Danny, his first day at a new school was off to a great start. Also, he saw a cute dark-skinned girl with long brown hair stealing glances at Kurt, subtly. He made two mental notes; the first was to ask Kurt in the future about this girl, and the second was to avoid Risty for a time-being.

Meanwhile, at the Xavier Institute, the grounds had various activities; to put it simply, the grounds were occupied by a group of younger teenagers who were also mutants. In an area, two boys named Bobby Drake and Sam Guthrie or Iceman and Cannonball respectively were playing catch using a baseball with gloves, with the latter crashing into a brick wall, damaging it.

In another grass area, Rahne Sinclair and Roberto de Costa or Wolfsbane and Sunspot were playing frisbee with Roberto crashing into Jamie Madrox or Multiple, making a few copies of him in the process.

Near the entrance, Tabitha Smith or Boom Boom formed an energy cherry bomb before flinging it silently towards Ray Crisp (Berserker), Jubilation Lee (Jubilee), and Amara Aquilla (Magma) as a means of a prank. It detonates, startling the trio, causing the blonde girl to laugh at their expense. However, they retaliate with their own powers in a sort of mutant laser tag.

Inside the office, Logan was watching the group as did Professor Xavier.

"Looks like we got our hands full with the new recruits." Logan comments.

"Yes." Xaiver replied in response. "A spirited bunch, but good kids."

Another concern came into Xavier's mind as he continued.

"But I'm afraid it's going to be even more difficult, in this term, to keep a lid on things and maintain our anonymity."

Logan sees the damage being done to some of the area of the Institute grounds as he said

"Not to mention, our buildings." he faces Xavier once more. "We're gonna need more instructors." he glanced outside. "And maybe a couple of tanks."

Then, the adults see Jack and Maddie enter the office as Professor Xavier greets them.

"Ah, Jack. Madeline. How did it go?"

Then, he noticed something odd as he asked.

"Is something wrong?"

"We...got into a major fender bender." Maddie nervously said.

Professor Xavier knew what the Fenton woman meant before he internally sighed before asking.

"Do you need some assistance in...?"

"Oh no. The damage has already been resolved since our insurance paid for it. We just need to renegotiate the agreement we've made with Danny." Jack said in response.

The bald telepath nodded in understanding. If they were willing to talk to Danny once again to compromise the times he could go for ghost patrol, Xavier was certain the boy would understand their terms.

Back at Bayville High, the fourth period ended as Danny got to his locker. After opening it, he hears a commotion before turning to the right when he heard the familiar voice of Mikey as he saw the said individual being tormented by Duncan and a few of his fellow football jocks.

"Hey, come on!" Mikey whines.

"Think of this as a "welcome to Bayville High" gift basket!" Duncan said menacingly.

Once one of Duncan's friends opened the locker, the blonde jock stuffed Mikey into it before slamming the door shut. They laugh as Duncan received a high-five while Mikey called out for someone to free him from his cramped prison.

Danny just shook his head as he said to himself.

"Guess some things never change."

"You got that right, Fen-turd!"

Knowing who's voice belonged to, Danny turned around in annoyance to see Dash right behind him.

"What do you want?!" he asks in annoyance.

"Oh, the usual! A little "welcome back to school gift" that I owe you." Dash said in response.

Right before the former Casper High jock made a grab for Danny, they both heard a feminine voice that sounded very angry.

"How about pickin' on someone ya own sahze, ya brain dead jerk?!"

Turning around, both Dash and Danny see a ticked off Rogue, who was clearly unamused on what was going on. Pushing Danny aside, Dash turns his focus towards Rogue.

"Oh yeah?" he smirks smugly. "And what will you do if I don't?"

Rogue's glare hardened as she said in a threatening tone.

"Keep pushin' meh, and you'll see how fast Ah can make ya cry."

Dash got overconfident as he taunted.

"How? Make me wear bad make-up all day?"

That did it. Before Dash could even react, Rogue delivered a hard kick to the blonde's knee. If the power of the kick wasn't enough, the weight of the mutant goth girl's combat boots made the impact even more painful. However, it was enough to make Dash literally cry in pain as he cradled his injured knee and hopped on one foot, trying to keep balance before falling to his side.

"Wow. That was fast." Danny commented with a very impressed tone.

As Dash stopped crying, he looked up to Rogue in fear for the first time before she barked

"Beat it!"

Not having to be told twice, Dash got up and bolted down the hallway while Rogue watched him run. Then, Sam and Tucker showed up when they saw the commotion and Dash running.

"Man. You think that Dash would learn from what happened when he got in trouble back in Amity Park." Sam comments in annoyance.

"You okay, dude?" Tucker asks Danny.

"Yeah. I'm cool." Danny replies.

Then, the group heard a feminine British voice speak up.

"If you ask me, jerks like them get nowhere in life."

They all turn to see Risty approaching them. Again, Danny started to get an uneasy feeling around the new girl; a feeling that only Sam noticed. However, Tucker had a flirtatious look, as Risty said.

"I don't believe we have met before."

"We're just as new here as you are." Sam said before holding out her hand. "Name's, Sam."

"Risty Wilde." Risty replied as she shook hands with Sam.

Tucker runs his hand on his head to the back of it as he said.

"My name's Tucker Foley. That's TF. As in..." he points his fingers up before pointing them at Risty. "Too Fine."

Risty felt awkward as she backed away while nervously saying.

"Uh... yeah. I'll have to get back to you on that." she moves past the group. "Excuse me."

Risty walks away at a fast pace to presumably get to her locker while Tucker pouts.

"Dang it!"

Sam rolls her eyes before she says in annoyance.

"Smooth Tucker. You scared her off in less than a minute. Must be a new record."

Rogue glanced at Danny before asking

"Does heh always do that?"

"Every time." Danny replies while palming his face in annoyance.

Lunch began as Danny, Sam, and Tucker took a seat at the same table that Scott, Evan, Kurt, Kitty, and Rogue were at.

"I can't believe Mr. Lancer is working here now." Sam said in shock.

"I'm just as shocked as the next person." Tucker adds.

"Like, what do you have against that guy?" Kitty asks in curiosity.

"He was one of the faculty of our old high school who would turn a blind eye to bullying." Danny explains. "As a result, he and the other teachers and our old principal got fired when someone spilled the beans to the superintendent."

"Ah'm still bugged about what he meant about bein' turned down at that Nasty Burger he mentioned." Rogue comments.

Tucker understood before he explained.

"Last year, he used the manager of the Nasty Burger as a cautionary tale of what happens when someone fails the C.A.T. test." he lifts his sandwich. "Sounds like the manager found a means of payback."

"Not to mention, Mr. Lancer used me as an example because I had the highest score in said test." Jazz adds as she took her seat at the table.

"Was it that bad?" Kurt asks with worry.

The quartet nodded in response.

"Man, I wouldn't want that guy as my teacher." Evan comments.

Suddenly, Danny remembers an incident that happened earlier.

"By the way, I saw some jocks stuffing someone Sam, Tucker, and I know into a locker earlier." he says.

Scott immediately knew Danny was referring to as he asked while gesturing with his head.

"Was one of them blonde and the leader of the group?"

Danny turns to where Scott was looking at as he said.

"Yeah. Those guys over..."

He suddenly paused as Danny saw a familiar redhead of the X-Men team sitting with Duncan and his friends at a different table that was 30 feet away.

"Wait! Why is Jean sitting with those guys?!"

Rogue just rolled her eyes in annoyance with a scoff before she said in response.

"Oh please. Little Miss populah is too high on her horse to realahze what jerks they are."

Rogue's statement made Scott glare at her but remained silent since he knew all-too-well that it was the truth in more ways than one. However, in another table, Pietro was staring at Danny subtly in suspicion as he thought to himself

"So, he's one of the X-Geeks, after all." he smirked. "Maybe we should give him a little more of a greeting than last time."

Hours passed until the first school day finally came to an end. In one area of the hallway, Dash and the A-Listers were bullying Mikey. However, their commotion was noticed by Duncan and a few of his buddies.

"What are you guys doing?" Duncan asks.

Dash pushed Mikey aside before he walked up

to the older jock casually before he said in response.

"Just ensuring that our homework gets done for the school year."

Duncan raised an eyebrow in confusion as he asked

"You guys bully others to do your homework, eh?"

"Yeah. Don't you all do the same thing?" Paulina asks curiously.

"Nah. We do our own homework." Duncan replies.

His response caused Dash, Paulina, Dale, Kwan, and the other A-Listers to burst into laughter, assuming that Duncan made a joke on his statement.

"Good one!" Dash said.

"You honestly think this is a joke?" he asks. "I don't know how it was back in your school, but here, the teachers aren't as stupid as you think."

The A-Listers were silent as Duncan continued.

"I don't know about you, but I plan to graduate from this place. So, if you want to flunk, be my guest."

The A-Listers were silent. As Duncan walked away, Mikey took the time to slip away from Dash and the others. They couldn't help but feel that they were in new territory. However, their thoughts were short-lived by their delusional rules they've made for themselves as they just scoffed it off.

However, they didn't even notice any subtle changes of Star's attitude. Dash only noticed that Mikey was gone before he went off to hunt him down as Dale and Kwan followed, more hesitantly on the latter's part. As they parted way, the blonde girl slowly shook her head in a disappointing manner.

"They still haven't learned." she thought to herself before leaving to her own intended destination.

Outside of the campus, Scott was waiting for someone as he was next to his car. In an instant, he hears an argument from two people he is familiar with. Looking to his left, he sees Kitty in an argument with Lance while Pietro, Fred, and Todd are in the jeep watching.

"Lance! Just forget it!"

"Kitty. I said I was sorry about the scoreboard thing." Lance said with reasoning. "Come on, don't be mad."

As Kitty began to walk away, she said to him as the boy grabbed her hand to stop her.

"Lance, you can be such a jerk sometimes!"

While Kitty phased her hand out of Lance's grip, Scott steps in while scolding

"Alvers! Leave her alone!"

Lance sees Scott arriving as he snapped back

"Hey! Go recharge your batteries, goggle boy! This is between me and her!"

As Scott was about to remove his sunglasses, he said in response

"Yeah? Well, now it's between you and me!"

After pushing Scott slightly, Lance steps back before he taunted

"Go ahead, Summers. Take your best shot!"

They were unaware that amongst the students watching the argument, Danny, Sam, and Tucker were watching too. The ghost boy goes to a place to hide before turning intangible and then flies unseen towards his intended target as Lance continues his challenge

"Let's see those eyes blast me through the fence! Right here, right now!"

Scott was considering at first while Kitty tried to calm him down. However, they see Lance suddenly jerk forward slightly before his eyes start glowing green. Scott and Kitty were confused before their expressions changed to weirded out as the brown haired started acting and clucking like a chicken in front of everyone, even the Brotherhood.

"Huh?"

"Like, what the...?!"

Before everyone knew it, Lance's behavior ceased as he jerked forward and felt dazed. Putting a hand on his head, he groaned while asking

"Wha...what happened?"

He hears the Brotherhood laughing and pointing at him

"Should've stayed in the hen house, chicken boy!" Pietro taunts.

Suddenly, Fred jerks forward, and his eyes start to glow green, too. Then, the boy licks his finger before giving Pietro a wet willy, startling him.

"Hey! What's the big idea!?" Pietro shouts at a dazed Fred.

"Wha...what did I do?"

As Todd was laughing, Pietro suddenly jerks forward before giving Todd a wedgie as the lanky boy screamed in discomfort. Fred sees what he did and gets angry at that.

"Hey!" Fred shouts.

While Pietro was dazed, he suddenly got punched by Fred, knocking him off the jeep. Lance sees it as well, seeing that Jean was nowhere in sight and didn't know what to make of it. He turns to Scott and says while pointing at him.

"We'll finish this some other time, Summers."

Pietro got onboard while Lance got in the driver's seat before starting the jeep and drove off. While the other students went back to their business of going home or somewhere else, Scott and Kitty were still confused as she asked

"Like, what was that all about?"

"I don't know." Scott replied.

However, they hear footsteps approaching. Instantly, they see Danny and his friends as the former was dusting his hands off of unseen debris as he said.

"That takes care of that."

Scott and Kitty were shocked to realize that it was Danny's doing. Thankfully, only Sam and Tucker were around as the brunette asks.

"That was, like, you?! What did you do to them?"

"I overshadowed them, except the smelly dude." Danny simply answered. "Basically, I can go intangible and take over another person's body if it is necessary."

Despite that Danny did the right thing, Scott still obtained a scolding look as he said

"You should be more careful, though. The last thing we need is someone finding out you are half-ghost."

"Hey, it's cool." Sam said while holding her hands up in a "calm down" manner. "Danny has done it so many times without getting caught."

None of them realized that a pair of eyes were watching them.

Meanwhile, with the Brotherhood boys, Lance was still driving before stopping at a stoplight. They were all still miffed that they were humiliated by an unexplainable force.

"Whoever did this, I'm gonna make sure he gets it good, yo!" Todd threatens.

"You're not the only one looking for payback!" Lance sneered.

Pietro was the only one silent as he was deep in thought while Fred noticed.

"What is it?" Fred asks.

"Call me crazy, but I got a hunch that it's the new guy who hanging around with the X-Geeks." Pietro said in a pondering tone.

Lance was confused as he asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, he wasn't around when you started acting like a chicken." Peetro chuckled on the last part. "Then, he shows up as you were driving away? Seems suspicious to me."

"If it was him," Fred pounds his fist into his hand. "We should teach him a lesson for making monkeys out of us!"

"I like your thinking, big guy!" Todd said with enthusiasm.

Lance rolled his eyes, but he was starting to think that Pietro could be right in his suspicion, especially with Danny. Now that he is starting to hang around Scott and the others, he was certain that the black-haired boy did join them.

He'll have to wait a while until he can know for sure. For now, Lance will just keep an eye on him.

At the Institute, Danny and the X-Men arrive as they pass through the door.

"So, how do you like Bayville High?" Evan asks.

"Better than Casper High, I'll admit." Danny replies. "Though, some problems from my old high school seem to have followed me."

"Like the ghosts?" Kurt asks.

Danny nods his head in response. However, Logan came into the same area they were in and said.

"Well, I hope you're up for more work. Be at the Danger Room in an hour and a half. The X-Men will have training after the new recruits."

Danny groaned as he said

"Not again."

"Better get used to it, bub." came Logan's voice, despite walking off.

Danny's eyes widened as he forgot the fact that Wolverine could hear what he said, thanks to his heightened senses.

"I seriously got to keep my mouth shut when he's around."

While all of the X-Men departed to their rooms, Danny phased to get to his room. He was deep in thought as well; mainly about Risty.

"I got to be on my toes around Risty from now on. I don't know if she's working for Vlad, the Guys in White, or someone else, but I have a very bad feeling about her."

Danny puts his thoughts aside as he transforms into his Phantom-X persona and then heads into the Danger Room, taking the quickest route with his ghost powers, for another training session by the taskmaster, Wolverine.

Stay tuned for the next chapter when Danny teams with the X-Men against the Brotherhood. Also, sorry I took so long to complete this chapter.

A/N: I wanted to have Jazz, along with Scott, Jean, and a few more characters to be juinors, while everyone else, including Danny, are sophomores. The New Mutants will be freshmen soon enough.

DJ Rodriguez: Sam is in denial that her favorite heroes are rip-offs of the franchises that we all know.

Guest (Nov. 21): Updated.

Dragonrule: Hope this will appeal to you, and you'll see how Sam and Rogue will interact over Danny soon.

Jebest4781: How is this?

YuukiHiro98: Only time will tell how things between Danny and Rogue will turn out.

NiteOwl18: When I get to the chaoters that will be based around Phantom Planet, you'll see what Sam and Rogue will think of Danny being powerless.
