A Night to Remember
"Yo! This chapter is basically a Valentine's Day chapter?!"
"Yes, Deadpool. Thanks for spoiling it." guardian1989 droned in extreme annoyance.
"Well, about time I get to see a chapter that is off canon of both series." Deadpool remarks.
"That is if you keep quiet and not interrupt the readers."
Then, another author enters the domain; one author that the merc recognized.
"Number boy?! What are you doing here?"
"I gave him the okay to drop in if he so chooses." guardian1989 explained before greeting the author. "Sup?!"
The author, 61394, bumped fists with guardian1989 as he said in response.
"Sup!" he noticed Deadpool. "Oh, he's here too."
"Unfortunately."
"Hey, I'm right here!" Deadpool practically snapped.
"You sure you don't want a dimensional transporter?" 61394 asks.
"Nah." guardian1989 raised his arms to catch his tranq rifle from the ceiling. "This is more effective and amusing."
"Yeah. It is." 61394 said with a chuckle.
"Oh great." Deadpool droned. "Two guys against me."
"Just have a seat already." guardian1989 commanded the merc with frustration.
"Fine." Deadpool said before sitting down.
Then, the unwanted guest asked.
"So, when do I get to narrate the story?"
"Dude, it's my story. Just like the other ones you've invaded." guardian1989 said.
"What?! Bad enough that I'm only a guest in other domains like Neo, PFN, now you too?" Deadpool complained.
The author lets out an exasperated sigh of annoyance before he nods to 61394 and hands him the gun. Deadpool sees what is about to happen as he complains.
"Come on, number boy! Don't do this to me!"
The guest author fires the weapon as the dart pierced Deadpool in the chest, injecting the drug as the merc whines
"D'oh!"
After removing the sharp projectile, Deadpool said drowsily.
"And I thought... guardian... was an... ass..."
The merc collapsed, out-cold and snoring. The author pulls a lever, once again dropping Deadpool hundreds of feet into the moat in a looney tunes manner before the shutters close as the guest hands the weapon back.
"Thanks." guardian1989 said in gratitude as he pulled back the bolt before pushing it back into position, chambering a new dart.
"You modified your gun?" 61394 asks.
"Yeah. Chambering one dart at a time took too much time, so I made modifications to be magazine fed and bolt action." guardian1989 explains. "I'll make the same modifications to yours, as I did with the other ones in reserve for the others."
"Cool. I'll give you the gun you gave me to make the adjustments." 61394 said in response.
After clearing his throat, guardian1989 turns to the audience.
"Well, folks. Without any further delays, let's get on with the chapter."
It was a special Friday in February; Valentine's Day. However, the week before was a bit of a fiasco.
Danny, Sam, and Tucker, with the X-Men, were tracking Vlad in the Ghost Zone. However, the trail led them to a certain part that resembled the Arctic circle. There, they met the head of the frozen north named Frostbite. They all got off on the wrong foot before Danny and Jean removed an icicle that caused his supposed rampage.
It was then after that Frostbite recognized Danny as the savior of the Ghost Zone. Much to the surprise of the X-Men, Frostbite and the yeti bowed and addressed them as the Knights of Lord Charles Xavier. All of them had no idea that Frostbite was aware of the existence of mutants or that they viewed the professor as royalty.
In addition, when Frostbite showed them something called the Infi-Map, Vlad stole it, thus starting a wild goose chase through past timelines, all the way back to where it started. It allowed everyone to foil Vlad's plot to change history and retrieve the artifact back to its rightful owner.
Frostbite and the yeti were grateful for the team and granted them permission to return to their realm at any given time. Something that they were all grateful for.
With that in the past now, they were all focused on Valentine's Day as school was still unable to start yet.
With Danny, he was in his locker as he was busy placing a photo that he took with Rogue on one of their dates over the photo that he took with Sam and Tucker. The ghost boy had a lovestruck smile as he sighed.
Suddenly, he hears a feminine voice he came to adore.
"Wrong spot, sugah."
Danny turns to see Rogue as he asks in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
The goth playfully rolled her eyes before she commented.
"Ya can beh a dork at tahmes."
Rogue slowly removed the photo, using caution not to damage the picture behind it. Once it was fully removed, the mutant goth placed it right next to the other one as Danny saw what she meant.
"Oh."
Rogue faced Danny as she crossed her arms.
"Sugah, Ah may beh your gal, but Ah ain't no possessive bitch." she said with a serious tone. "Ah ain't gonna keep ya away from your friends. Not now, not evah."
Danny rubbed the back of his head sheepishly as he said.
"Right. I should've known."
It was then that the ghost boy noticed something around his girlfriend's neck as he said.
"I see you're wearing the necklace I gave you."
"Just as you're wearing' the leather jacket Ah gave ya." Rogue said back.
Danny and Rogue just smiled at one another before the goth retrieved her textbooks from her locker before Danny decided to escort her to her class before going to his own.
In another area, Jean was holding a small box that was really a special gift meant for Scott. The redhead has fallen for him over time as she remembered having a talk with Maddie in private at the Institute.
Flashback
Jean saw that Maddie was in the hallway alone as she caught up to the Fenton woman, asking.
"Maddie?"
"Yes, Jean." Maddie said as she turned around.
"Can I talk to you in private?" Jean asks.
"Sure." Maddie said. "This way."
Soon, both Jean and Maddie were in the Fenton woman's room alone as the redhead took a seat on the edge of the bed.
"So, what is it that you want to talk about?" Maddie asks in curiosity.
"Well..." Jean began hesitantly. "How do you know... when you're in love?"
Of all questions, Maddie was caught by surprise when the redhead asked that one in particular. It caused her to smile as she realized where this was going.
"I take it that it has to do with Scott, right?" Maddie gently asked.
"Yes." Jean said with a nod. "Lately, when I've been spending more time with him, I've been getting a new feeling towards him." she glanced up to look at Maddie in the eyes. "Since you're happily married to Jack, I can honestly sense a feeling of warmth and joy in both of you when you two are together."
Maddie smiled as her mind went down memory lane before she said.
"Well, I met Jack while we were in college." Maddie then frowns. "Along with that asshole, Vlad." she smiled once more. "I found that Jack and I have the same hobbies when it comes to studying ghosts. We did a lot of projects together, including the prototype of the ghost portal."
"Go on." Jean beckons.
"As time went on..." Maddie paused. "Well, I don't know if you believe in soul mates or the one, but Jack and I..." she smiled fondly. "We just clicked."
"Clicked how?" Jean asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, it didn't happen all at once." Maddie said in response. "But through time, I began to realize how much Jack meant to me. I thought about him every single day and after many days, I fell in love with him."
"What's it like?" Jean asked.
"It's indescribable." Maddie replied. "Almost like magic. When you're with your beloved, you feel more alive than ever before. Suddenly, everything in the world makes sense. Your problems just disappear in an instant."
Maddie took a seat next to the redhead as she continued.
"But it can also be painful. If you've been apart from the person for so long, you would feel empty inside. You start to long for the days to be with him again." Also, if that person dies, an important piece of you goes as well. You have this void that may be impossible to fill."
Jean was silent at Maddie's words as the Fenton woman continued her point of view.
"I mean, sure you would find love again, but your second love won't measure to your first love, ever." Maddie placed an emphasis on the last word.
Maddie's talk made absolute sense to Jean. The redhead couldn't stand the thought of losing Scott, which would inevitably make her feel the terrible void that would continuously eat away at her soul.
"I think I understand what you mean, now." Jean said after much thinking. "Lately, when I'm not occupied with anything, I always think about Scott, about his smile, his concern," she smiled. "And how cute he looks when he's uncertain about something."
It was then that Maddie asked.
"Do you feel complete having him in your life?"
"Yes, I do." Jean answered instantly. "I can't imagine my life without him. We've known each other all our lives, and I feel he knows me better than anyone."
Maddie smiled before she said.
"Then, there's your answer, Jean. I believe you are in love with Scott."
It only took a minute for Jean to look into her heart before she smiled and rose from her seat.
"I am. Thank you so much, Maddie."
"You're welcome. I wish you and Scott well."
End flashback
It didn't take long for Jean to catch up to Scott as she hid the box behind her hand. The tall boy noticed her in an instant.
"Hi, Jean." Scott greets.
"Hi." Jean greeted back. "Listen, during lunch, can you meet me at the football fields in private?"
"Sure." Scott said as he closed his locker.
After Jean gave him a small kiss before taking off, Scott was confused about why the redhead would want him to rendezvous with her at the football fields alone. He decided to find out when the time came.
None of them were aware that at a distance, Duncan Matthews stared at them with a sour look before leaving to get to class.
However, love wasn't only in the air of Bayville High
At Bayville Junior High, Dani was inputing her locker combination. Right when she was about to open her locker, the ghost girl saw a sort of envelope in the vents of her locker.
"What's this?"
Thinking that it was going to fall at her feet, Dani opens her locker. In an instant, a lot of envelopes spilled out of her locker and onto the floor, causing the ghost girl to step back in surprise as the last envelope fell to the floor.
"What the heck?!" she shouts in shock.
The hall monitor saw what happened and saw the shocked look on the girl's face as he realized that it wasn't her doing. Soon enough, the girl saw that each one of these envelopes contained Valentine's Day cards from every boy in the school. After grabbing her textbooks and other necessities for class, the girl crams the cards back into her locker before running off to class.
At a distance, Stacey growled with frustration and jealousy due to the fact that Danielle's locker was stuffed with Valentine's Day cards while hers only had a few.
Back at Bayville High, it was the end of first period class. Through the hallways, Valerie was running for dear life before she saw Kitty passing by the girls' restroom. The brunette noticed as the African girl ran up to her.
"Hide me!"
"Valerie? Like, what's going on?" Kitty asks with worry.
"Just hide me, please!" Valerie begged.
Kitty just opened the door to the restroom as Valerie quickly entered before the brunette quickly acted like she just got to the area. In a minute, Kitty sees the reason for the African girl's desperation to hide.
Nathan.
The nerd had a boutique of roses and a comically large heart-shaped box of chocolates in his hands as he whined.
"Valerie?! Where are you?! It's Valentine's Day! Why won't you say yes?!"
Kitty couldn't help but feel sorry for Valerie's misfortune as the African girl silently prayed that the boy would simply go away. Soon, the brunette decided to mislead him.
"Nathan, right?"
Nathan sees Kitty as he begged to her.
"Have you seen Valerie? Please, tell me you've seen her!"
Kitty took a step back before she said.
"Uh, yeah. She, like, said she was heading towards the amphitheater because she accidentally left her..."
Kitty didn't finish as Nathan instantly bolted towards the location where Valerie supposedly was. Once he was gone, Kitty entered the girls' restroom before she said to Valerie.
"He's, like, gone. For now."
Valerie breathed a sigh of relief as she stepped out into the hallways.
"Thanks, girl." she said in gratitude.
"Like, no problem." Kitty said. "Perhaps you should get to class before he, like, comes back."
"I agree. See ya in math." Valerie said before running off in haste.
After two more class periods, it was lunchtime. The Institute kids were at the usual table with Sam, Tucker, and Jazz amongst them. However, three members were missing.
"So, have you heard about this carnival that will leave as of Sunday?" Sam asks.
"Yeah. We have. I heard that it has a few killer roller coasters." Evan replied with enthusiasm.
"I just asked my folks, and they allowed me to go tonight." Tucker commented. "Just as long as I get my homework done tomorrow."
"Same here." Sam said.
"Danny and I did the same thing." Jazz adds.
"We all plan to ask the professor after school." Kurt said. "I just hope that we can skip Danger Room training today."
Danny and the other X-Men nod in agreement. They truly hoped they could skip Danger Room training for today so they can enjoy their Friday night. However, as they were talking, Tucker was lost in his own thoughts while no one else noticed.
He thought of only a certain dark-skinned girl who resided at the Xavier Institute as Tucker remembered when he and Sam visited the mansion to see Danny almost a week ago.
Flashback
Sam and Tucker were being led by Danny to the kitchen as the ghost boy immediately opened the fridge to get a few sodas. As the three friends were enjoying their beverage, they soon had company. At first, they thought it was Jazz coming into the kitchen to get something, but instead, it was Amara.
She sees Tucker instantly being accompanied by Danny and Sam. As they stopped, the girl asked.
"Tucker, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Uh, sure." Tucker said, trying too hard to keep his cool.
Danny instantly knew that Tucker wanted to be alone. With that in mind, he grabs Sam's hand and towed her away. Once the kitchen was empty, Tucker asked.
"What is it that you want to talk about?"
Amara felt like her heart was going to explode in her chest as so many what if he doesn't questions flooded her mind. Eventually, she calmed down before finding her voice.
"Look, Tucker..." Amara blushed as she was nervous. "I have a confession to make." she Tucker raised an eyebrow. "When I first saw you visit the Institute, during that incident, I was worried about you when you were sick."
"Oh, I'm fine, now." Tucker said casually.
"Wait, there's more." Amara said, interrupting Tucker.
Tucker paused as Amara continued
"When you came to visit the Institute with your friend more often, I..." she paused again. "I actually started liking you, but I didn't know how to tell you."
Tucker blinked in surprise. Normally, when he would ask a girl out, they reject him without hesitation or failure. What he heard just now was a first for him; a girl actually told him that she was becoming fond of him.
Eventually, the African boy spoke up as he said.
"Wow. I didn't know that you started to like me."
Amara blushed once more before she said.
"Yeah." Amara paused, biting her lip. "I was wondering... well, I was wondering, if you're not too busy, would you want to... go out with me?"
Okay, now Tucker was stunned. Usually, no girl in Amity Park would even consider asking him out on a date, but here in Bayville, Amara was the first to do so. However, the Nova Roma princess took his silence the wrong way as she looked away.
"I'm sorry, Tucker. I didn't mean to..."
"No, it's not like that." Tucker said. "I'm just surprised that you asked me out. No one has ever done that before." he sees Amara look at him with hope. "If anything, I'd love to go out with you."
"Really?" Amara asked.
"Sure." Tucker replies. "In fact, since there's this carnival coming to Bayville, maybe we can go with the others on Valentine's Day. How about it?"
Amara smiled as she said.
"I'd like that."
"When I get a free weekend, I'll be sure to take you out on a date, just the two of us."
Amara's heart fluttered as she said.
"I look forward to it."
One kiss to the cheek by Amara was all it took to cause Tucker to collapse. The girl giggled at his reaction as Danny and Sam rushed in when they heard the thud and saw their friend on the floor.
As Amara walked away, Tucker could only think one thought.
"Damn, I'm good."
End of Flashback
At the fields, Scott and Jean were alone with one another. While the rest of their teammates were inside the campus, it was enough to have time for themselves.
"So, um... " Scott began in confusion. "Why did you want to see me here?"
Jean was hesitant at first, but then she regained her composure, somewhat as she said.
"Look, Scott... " Jean begins. "Ever since I stopped going out with Duncan, when I found out the truth of what he's really about, and spent time with you... " she glanced away. "Well, lately, I've seen how much you mean to me."
Scott was stunned silent as Jean continued.
"Even when I was with Duncan in the past, I couldn't stop thinking about you." Jean takes a deep breath. "I... I've fallen in love with you, Scott. I know that I've pushed you away, and I'm deeply sorry for that."
Scott tilted Jean's chin up slightly as he said.
"Jean, there's nothing to be sorry about. I would've made the same mistake, but worse. At least you opened your eyes to what he was before it was too late."
Jean smiled at Scott's assurance. Clearly, the redhead realized more than ever that Scott was the polar opposite of Duncan Matthews; while the jock never showed any assurance, Scott did. Duncan would grope her at times, but Scott kept his hands to himself. Also, she always felt relaxed when Scott was near her. Eventually, Jean said to Scott as she pulled out a small box from her pocket.
"There's more." Jean holds out the box. "I wanted to give you this."
Scott was curious as he gently took the box from Jean before opening it to find a g-shock watch that was black and dark red in color.
"It looks nice, Jean. You didn't have to get me anything." Scott said in gratitude.
"Well, I wanted to." Jean said as she glanced away with a blush.
Scott smiled as he placed on the watch with Jean's assitance to find that it was a perfect fit. Then, the brunette boy said as he pulled out a box of his own.
"I guess I should give you your Valentine's Day gift."
When Jean sees a silver box, she slightly gasped while saying.
"You shouldn't have."
Once she opens it, Jean finds a chain of real silver with a red angel as a pendant, made of ruby.
"I love it." Jean said gratefully as she placed it on with Scott's help.
"Jazz told me that it's a choker when I asked her what it was." Scott explained.
Jean looks at it as the angel is in the palm of her hand.
"It's beautiful." she comments.
Scott remembers one little detail that was yet to come as he said.
"By the way, Jean."
"Yes?"
"You know that Sadie Hawkins dance coming up soon?" Scott asks.
Jean smiled, knowing that Scott was going to ask her to accompany him there as she said in response.
"Scott. I would love to go with you when it begins."
Then, Scott was caught off-guard when Jean suddenly kissed him, directly on the lips. However, the boy didn't hesitate to return it. Both of them were in total bliss as they felt like time had stopped around them.
Inside the school, lunch was ongoing as the students were going about their business. With Jazz, she reached her locker before she felt someone tap her shoulder. Turning around, the human redhead sees none other than Pietro as the boy has a flirty look.
"Hey, cutie. I've been looking for you." he said.
Jazz rolled her eyes in annoyance before she said.
"And I see you're still immature as ever."
Pietro leaned on one of the lockers before he said.
"Say, since this carnival is leaving on Sunday, how about you and I go there tonight. Just you and me?"
Jazz narrowed her eyes, completely unimpressed before she said in response.
"Sorry, but since you haven't found your man parts yet, my answer is still no. So, I'll pass, thank you."
As Jazz walked away after closing her locker, Pietro looked at her, completely appalled that she had rejected him yet again. All the while, Fred and Todd snickered at their friend's failure.
In another area of the halls, Lance and Kitty were talking with one another. Apparently, the two decided to go out with one another at the very same carnival that everyone else planned to go.
"So, I'll meet you there then?" Lance asks.
"Like, yeah." Kitty said. "It'll be, like, we just accidentally ran into each other."
As Lance pumped up his fist in triumph, he accidentally caused a tiny quake before it stopped in a second. He looked at Kitty sheepishly, who just chuckled in response to his actions.
Meanwhile, Paulina opened her locker, containing her shrine that she built in dedication to Danny's ghost form, whom she fawned over continuously. However, she finds a red envelope inside. The Latina rolled her eyes, knowing who it was from before she said to no one in particular.
"Only my ghost boy is worthy of my love."
Paulina crumbled the envelope without hesitation before throwing it away, under the watchful eyes of a certain boy with blonde hair and buck teeth by the name of Riley Mason; one of her unworthy admirers whose level of love for her was desperation. Similar to how Paulina had a shrine to Danny Phantom in her locker, he, too, possessed one to the Latina in his own locker.
Once he saw his object of desire crush the envelope, Riley got on his knees and cried his eyes out.
At Bayville Junior High, lunch was nearing its end, too. With Danielle, her pathway to get to her locker was blocked by the large crowd of smittened boys. They each had a little Valentine's Day gift to her, such as a box of chocolates, stuffed teddy bears, roses that are either a bouquet, plastic in a case covering, or glass. However, when they all see each other going for the same girl, the male population ended up comically fighting each other, making the ghost girl feel unnerved.
And so, while they were distracted, Danielle bolts to hide until either the principal or the hall monitor resolved it by doing crowd control, which all the boys ended up in detention for fighting in the hallways
All except for Jamie Madrox, of course, since he wasn't involved in the fight.
The Institute kids arrived home as they were about to head to their rooms. Even Danielle was glad she was out of school for the day due to being chased by all of the boys after school before she made it to the safety of the FFAV. However, when Logan saw them wanting to train them in a new simulation he brainstormed recently, Kitty walked up to the burly Canadian as she said.
"Mr. Logan. Is, like, the professor here?"
"Yeah, he's here. Why is that half-pint?" Logan asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, we're all, like, going to ask him if we can go to the carnival tonight." Kitty replied.
"Actually, there's this simulator that I want you all to train in..."
Logan didn't finish his explanation when he saw Kitty doing the one thing he hated seeing her do; she was giving him the puppy dog eyes with her lip quivering. It worked for a second at first, but then Logan cleared his throat and said in a stern voice.
"Sorry half-pint, but it ain't gonna work."
Suddenly, Kurt started doing the puppy dog pout as well. It was getting a bit harder for Logan to just say, but he held his ground.
"Sorry, but two won't do any good."
Suddenly, he felt someone tugging his pants to get his attention before hearing.
"Mr. Logan?"
"Yeah, shorty?"
Once Logan turned around, Danielle closed her eyes before giving him the biggest puppy dog pout. Logan flinched as he was surrounded by two teens and a pre-teen, giving him the look. The others found it completely amusing as they all imagined Logan's will power draining quickly. Soon, the Canadian palmed his face with a growl as he conceded and said.
"Okay, fine! Whatever! Just turn off those damn looks now!"
There was an uproar of cheer among the younger teens that they got off Danger Room training. Eventually, they got permission from Professor Xavier, who allowed them to go, in exchange to get their homework completed on Saturday. They all knew they had to buckle down on that, but it would be worth it.
Danny excused himself to contact Tucker by phone before he handed the phone to Amara, who was nearby.
At the Brotherhood house, Lance was busy getting ready as he placed on some clothes that weren't worn out or had any kind of damage. As he was about to head out the door, the boy heard Pietro say.
"Well, look who's sneaking off to meet his pretty kitty."
Lance growled before he said.
"That's none of your business, Pietro!"
"Hey! She's the enemy for crying out loud!" Peitro shouts. "I don't know why you have a thing for her."
Lance rolled his eyes before he said.
"This coming from the guy who keeps failing to hit it off with Fenton's sister?"
Pietro instantly shuts up. Lance did make a good point that no matter how many times he tried to flirt with Jazz and score a date with her, she always rejected him. In response, Pietro crossed his arms with a huff while looking away.
"That's what I thought." Lance said with a smirk. "Now, if you'll excuse me?"
Lance heads out the door, gets in his jeep, and drives off.
It was barely dusk when they all arrived at the carnival. By all, meaning Danny, Sam, Tucker, Amara, Rogue, Scott, Evan, Jean, Kurt, Kitty, Danielle, and surprisingly, Jamie.
All of them split up. Sam went into the haunted house to check it out. Kitty took off to try and locate Lance. Kurt got in line for the bumper cars. Scott and Jean went off together, as did Danny and Rogue, Tucker and Amara, and Danielle and Jamie. Evan got in line for an intense roller coaster that he wanted to try out.
After a few roller coaster rides, Evan got a little sick when he got off the one he recently rode on and had to sit down. Kurt joined him after a rough time in the bumper cars and was a little dizzy.
Danielle was with Jamie in the fun house as they were making faces at mirrors that showed silly reflections of themselves.
Scott and Jean were at a booth where one throws darts to try and pop balloons in a perfect line. The redhead knew the odds getting a perfect line for all four projectiles are very slim. Eyeing the stuffed bear she wanted Scott to win, Jean did a little trick. By trick, the truth was she used her telekinesis to keep the path of the dart Scott threw perfectly straight. With all 4 darts on his third try in a perfect horizontal line, the vendor's look of shock was priceless.
Eventually, the vendor allowed Scott to pick a prize. After he picked the bear that he correctly guessed that Jean wanted, the two walked off as Scott had his hand on her waist. Of course, Jean didn't want to ruin the moment by informing him that she helped him, so she kept quiet about it.
Lance and Kitty were at a different booth to toss the ball in order to knock the bottles down. The boy wanted to get a cute purple dragon stuffed toy. However, it was proving to be a little difficult. While no one was looking, Lance used his powers to cause a tiny tremor that couldn't be felt by anyone, but it was enough to cause the bottles to be a bit off-balance.
With one throw, Lance succeeded in knocking the bottles down. After the vendor handed over the stuffed dragon, Lance gave it to Kitty as the brunette smiled in gratitude.
"Like, thank you, Lance." Kitty said.
Lance smiled in response before he held her hand and led her away to another area.
With Tucker, he and Amara were enjoying some cotton candy with one another alone.
"I'm surprised that no girl has ever asked you out." Amara comments.
"Well, let's just Amity Park is quite the opposite of Bayville." Tucker said.
Amara nodded in understanding as she took another piece of cotton candy to eat.
"Well, if you ask me, I don't think they are good enough to give you a chance."
"You really think so?" Tucker asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes." Amara said in response.
Tucker smiled as he had a smittened look directed at Amara who chuckled upon seeing that look.
Danny and Rogue just got off a roller coaster ride as they took a seat at one of the benches to rest up for a minute before selecting another ride to try out.
"Ah don't know about ya, but some of these rahdes feel so tame." Rogue comments.
"Trust me, I know." Danny said in agreement. "Too bad they can't make it more intense like those big amusement parks."
Rogue nodded in agreement before she heard Danny ask.
"Want to grab a bite before going on a ride?"
"Sure." Rogue said with a smile.
However, the moment was ruined when the couple heard an obnoxiously familiar voice.
"Oh, gross! Loser love!"
They turned around to see Dash, but he wasn't alone. Paulina was with him as well.
"Wow. I guess you're with Paulina because you couldn't find a date, huh?" Danny mocked.
"Why I oughta...!"
Dash instantly stopped when he saw Rogue crack her knuckles with a look of warning to back off.
"Ah don't care if Ah get thrown out, but knockin' your teeth out will beh worth it." Rogue said in a subtle threat
Dash backed away before Paulina said in a snooty tone.
"You losers should be somewhere else."
"Come on." Dash said. "Let's get on that ride since the place already stinks of losers."
As they walked away, Paulina asked with worry,
"Is that ride slow?"
"Yeah." Dash said in assurance. "It'll go slow and easy. There's nothing to worry about."
"Good, because I can't take fast rides." Paulina noted.
Meanwhile, Danny shook his head in annoyance.
"Man, you think they'd leave us alone in peace."
"No, kiddin." Rogue said in agreement.
Then, the couple hear Danielle from behind.
"If you ask me, those two deserve a little punishment."
As Danny and Rogue turn around, they see the little girl and Jamie as the former had a look of mischief while eyeing Dash and Paulina getting in line to a tilt a whirl ride.
"Oh no. Ah know that look." Rogue comments with worry.
"I'll be back."
When Danielle walked off, Danny and Rogue looked at each other with worry before they both contacted Jean through their minds simultaneously.
"Jean! Get the others/othahs and get here to the tilt a whirl. We/weh got trouble!"
It only took a few minutes for everyone to get to their current location. Scott noticed that Lance was with Kitty, but let it slide since there was a more important matter.
"We're here. What's the problem?" Scott asked.
Danny and Rogue simply point to where Danielle was as the ghost girl noticed.
"Perfect. The gang's all here."
Jean heard her thoughts and knew that she was up to some sort of mischief.
"What is she up to?" Jean asks.
"Nothin' good." Rogue said.
"Then, we better stop her." Scott said.
However, Danny placed an arm in front of Scott as he said in warning.
"I think it's best if we stay here. If she's doing what I think she's gonna do, we don't want to be in range when the fireworks start."
Lance looks at Danny in curiosity as he asks.
"Fireworks?"
Rogue rolled her eyes before she said in annoyance.
"He means when the pukin' starts!"
Scott instantly realized what it meant as he decided to stay back, while everyone else had a look of horror on the upcoming show.
When Danielle saw Dash and Paulina get onboard and the ride began, she made her move as she approached the operator.
"Hey, mister." The operator looks at her. "Some of the kids are complaining that the ride is too slow. They say you should crank the speed up to really high."
The operator stood up in frustration as he said in a grumpy tone.
"They told me it was too slow?! I'll crank it up!"
He grabs the lever and pushes it from slow and easy speed, pushing it all the way up, past the fast and furious setting, to maximum overdrive. Danielle lets out a mischievous chuckle before running back to the group.
"And, here we go." Danny droned.
The speed of the ride was massive. The same velocity as a roller coaster of Six Flags": Magic Mountain. Dash and Paulina were holding on for dear life, as were the other riders as screams were heard. All who were on the ground watched in shock at how fast the tilt a whirl was going. Even the group watched in shock, mentally counting down to the main event.
On the ride, Paulina was feeling queasy as she bemoaned to Dash.
"I don't feel so good."
Suddenly, the Latina's face turns sickly green in color before finally, she leans to the left side, and hurls. The stream of her vomit hits the ground as bystanders nearby quickly back away to avoid getting hit.
With the group, the boys cringe at the sight while the girls, except Danielle, said only one word.
"Ew!"
Once the ride slows down to a stop at last, Dash begins feeling queasy as well before leans to the right and loses his lunch as well. Thankfully, none of the other riders were sick due to them being used to the speed and velocity of the ride. Of course, the operator closed the ride in order to clean up the vomit from the seat and wherever it can be located on the machine.
"Okay, that was the nastiest thing I have ever seen." Scott comments.
"For once, you get no argument from me." Lance said in agreement.
After the display ended, everyone dispersed once more to different areas. With Danny and Rogue, they were on the ferris wheel as the ride that was 60 feet in height took them all the way up while allowing more riders to get onboard and sit in the empty seats. The couple were able to see the full moon clearly when they looked up.
"Ya know, other than the show back there," Rogue leans her head on Danny's shoulder. "It's a beautiful nahght. Ah wish it never ends."
Danny gently leans his head onto Rogue's as he says in response.
"Me neither, Rogue. Happy Valentine's Day."
"Happy Valentine's Day, sugah."
Rogue closed her eyes as she felt Danny place his hand on her waist. The goth girl relaxed, knowing that her powers couldn't affect her boyfriend due to him being half-ghost. She honestly believed she would never be in a relationship with any boy, but Danny proved her wrong.
As the couple were in bliss, they were being watched.
In one of the trees nearby, Mystique was in the form of an owl as she watched the two. While she was still angry and curious about how her cover was blown, the shapeshifter couldn't help but feel slightly happy that Rogue was in a real relationship. It appears that this half-ghost is somehow immune to Rogue's powers and is able to get close to her easily.
She didn't know how, but Mystique had a feeling that she'll find out soon.
Meanwhile, high in the dark sky, Magneto was present. He, too, was watching Danny and Rogue, but his prime focus was on the former. Ever since his arrival to Bayville, the master of magnetism was unable to understand why this boy would waste his incredible powers on saving the lives of pathetic humans. Despite that, he was still vexed at the fact that this boy was able to best him during his first official encounter with him.
He considered himself to be the most evolved mutant on the planet. He couldn't allow Danny to get away with making him feel like he was inferior. The boy was not a mutant, yet he had incredible powers that were not given by mutation, but by other means that he didn't know what. He also couldn't understand why Charles took in Danny along with the boy's human family.
Magneto had to plan this out carefully if he were to try and make Danny see things his way. Knowing that picking another fight with the boy would be unwise, the master of magentism decides to leave for the time being until he can find a way to confront Danny.
With that, Magneto silently leaves the area ominously.
And done after quite some thinking and time. Stay tuned for the long-awaited chapter where Danny obtains his cryomancy and Undergrowth appears.
A/N: For the blonde boy with buck teeth in the Danny Phantom series, his name was never revealed, so I decided to make a name for him, unless someone here tells me his true name and I'll make the necessary edits.
A soaking wet Deadpool appears in the realm as he whined.
"Miss the chapter, again!"
"Because the readers want no interruptions." guardian1989 droned.
"Even Neo wouldn't shoot me like you and number boy there." Deadpool comments.
"I find you annoying." 61394 said. "As does guardian."
"Aw, I love you guys too." Deadpool said in sarcasm.
Then, Deadpool leaves the realm on his own, much to the shock of the authors.
"Normally, I'd give him the boot, but him walking out just saved me some ammo." guardian1989 said.
"No kidding." 61394 said, equally shocked. "Well, see you next time."
"Yeah."
Lights are turned off.
