Clay awoke to a place he had never seen before which wasn't saying much from what he could remember he went to sleep in the cave where he and his friends were being watched by the minders and sharing a cow with his know it all friend star flight who had mesmerized every scroll in the library with his midnight black scales with purple deep blue and silver under scales he was the closest thing to a brother clay had ever known then there was his pseudo sisters tsunami with her dark blue scales and aquamarine under scales and the sleek body of a swimmer and scales that could flash in every color imaginable next was glory who was unique because she could make her scales any color to match any scenery she wanted to but she was primarily dark emerald green with orange ears she and tsunami caused the most trouble out of all the young dragons tsunami usually by arguing with their minders and glory just for being born which clay could never understand and then their was sunny the smallest of them all with her golden and black scales and her misshapen tail and finally there were the minders kestrel with he red gold scales and orange yellow eyes she was the most viscous dragon in phyria if you asked clay always trying to make him release a inner beast that he wasn't even sure if he wanted in him after he supposedly tried to kill the other dragonets the moment they were about to hatch out of their eggs and the thought that this monster existed in some deep part of his mind scared him even more than kestrel ever could then there was dune whose whole body was the color of sand and webs the only minder who seemed to care about clay and his friends he always seemed to find the food they liked when it was his turn to hunt for them clays whole life had been spent under the mountain either training with kestrel or history with webs such as how this war in phryia began and been going on for twenty years all started because three sisters who couldn't agree who should rule their kingdom all because one stupid creature had to kill the former queen and with her not naming a successor and the only clue they had been given is some dumb prophecy written by the night wings the tribe that star flight came from which stated when the war has lasted twenty years the dragonets will come find the sea wing egg of deepest blue wings of night shall come to you the largest egg in mountain high shall give to you the wings of sky for wings of earth search through the mud for a egg the color of dragons blood and hidden alone from the rival queens the sand wing awaits unseen of the three queens who blister burn and blaze two shall die and one shall learn if she bows to a fate that is stronger and higher than she will have the power of the wings of fire five eggs to hatch on the brightest night five dragons born to end the fight darkness will rise to bring the light the dragonets are coming clay had been hearing about this prophecy since the day he hatched because supposedly he and friends were the dragonets chosen to end the war or as the tsunami had been using it ever since she heard it from dune when he came back from a bar one night the dragonets are coming this song to annoy kestrel which usually led to tsunamis mouth being wound up in chains to a rock in the cave they lived in which clay thought was just what tsunami deserved for making their minders upset but still felt a little bad for his friend/sister but he felt worse for star flight since he would sometimes have fits of strange speaking gibberish which no one seemed to be able to be able to understand the strangest of them all was what seemed to be a vision a power that the night wings supposedly had may it explained why he liked to sleep in the library room in the cave they lived in which had a small hole in the roof which was the only natural light the dragonets got as clay began to to look around the area he now found found himself in he noticed a wall of rock with a bunch of holes in it which seemed odd to clay he decided to go towards what looked like a forest from what webs had told him in their history classes and he noticed he had what looked like a saddle with more pockets for holding things than he could count as he got to the first tree in the forest he felt something hit him in the shoulder it was a creature he had never seen before with a small nose and mouth and triangle shaped ears dark gray hair all over his body and yellow sliced eyes and he looked like he was trying to bite clay's neck for whatever reason clay didn't know why and then clay thought he heard the creature speak in what seemed to be a high pitched squeaky voice which seemed odd to clay because he could tell just by looking at it that the creature was a juvenile of it's species and then three larger versions of the creature jumped down from another tree one was a long legged lithe black one with green eyes and a piece of cloth around its neck another was fluffy with brown black and white fur with green eyes and the last was orange with powerful shoulders and legs and had green eyes clays attacker jumped off his neck only to get tangled up in some vines and then he heard the three larger creatures make a noise which clay thought sounded similar to when kestrel was mad and shouted at him for failing to defeat her in combat practice and he felt sorry for the small gray creature with yellow eyes and then the fluffy brown and black with a white chest and green eyes started licking it with its tongue while the other two cut him free of the vines and gestured for clay to follow them with their tails even though clay was starting to question if this was the best idea he still followed the tiny creatures when the little creatures stopped moving he noticed he was right back at the place where he woke up and the little creatures led him to a cave with glowing moss and clay couldn't help but feel this place was important to the little creatures and then all of a sudden clay felt to tired to stay awake and fell asleep the next thing clay knew he was in a clearing with four tall oak trees and a sky full of stars and then all the stars came fell from the sky and got closer towards him and as the stars touched the ground they became solid form which to clay looked similar to the little creatures but they seemed to be transparent and they seemed to have stars in their bodies but the strangest thing was that they seemed that they seemed to echo each other voices like they couldn't decide who should talk first but once they made a decision the first to speak was a splotchy gray white and brown fur which was short and the first thing it said surprised clay it said the one we have been waiting for has arrived and clay was confused what do you mean the one you've been waiting for then a large group of them started speaking in unison they said the lizard with breath of fire and wings of mud shall clear the sky along with the dog of city and thunder the owl smith of the river and the vixen of shadows and the wolf of the wind along with the heart of alder the crown of holly the tail of flame and the wing of a dove shall combine to banish the the forest of no stars and all who have broken our Nobel code and all at once they stopped speaking and clay finally asked the question he had on his mind since he came across the strange creatures what exactly are you creatures if you don't mind me asking a new creature clay had never seen before answered we are cats the new cat was light gray and had blue eyes then he introduced himself as sky star and he said that they were in a place called star clan where all of the cats who follow the rules of a code they set for themselves exist after they die but they were only a small minority since a long time ago the other four clans of cats forced us out when creatures that we call two legs destroyed our old home and as sky star finished his story clay felt sorry for these cats of stars and then he awoke in the cove of moss to a cat he didn't recognize applying leaves to his scales this cat was a silvery gray with a white chest and green eyes once it noticed clay was awake she introduced herself as echo song the medicine cat of sky clan and clay asked what leaves she was using to heal him to which she happily answered that they were dock leaves with marigold petals then to clay's surprise he could understand the mewing of the living cats as if she was speaking dragon which was a shock to both of them the first thing clay asked her this medicine cat was if she could name the the young cat who tried to attack him yesterday and her answer was oh hawk kit he is almost old enough to leave the nursery now and then she explained that once a kitten reaches six moons old they become apprentices under one of the fully trained warriors I've been hearing gossip that of him going to be trained by ebony claw who was the cat you saw earlier with the two leg belt around her neck she maybe a little bit upset with me because I took her former apprentice away from her and then suddenly a new cat came into the cave the new cat was leggy with mottled brown fur with spots on its legs and pale green eyes she introduced herself as freckle wish accompanied by five kittens each carrying a batch of leaves with them only two of the other cats were familiar to clay one was hawk kit and the other was the dark ginger Tom with powerful legs and green eyes who he had met yesterday who stopped in front of clay and introduced himself as sharp claw and then he introduced each of his children to clay first was a ginger Tom the next was a fluffy ginger and white then he introduced the last who had yellow eyes and white fur sharp claw then introduced them as dusk kit blossom kit cloud kit and you already know my trouble making son hawk kit which clay found amusing was that some how the kits had gathered up some of the moss that clay had just realized he was sleeping on into a ball and had started to bat them back and forth between each other which clay thought looked like fun but when the ball hit his claw it became impaled on it and wouldn't come off his claw clay felt sorry for ending the game early but then he came up with a great idea for something fun he could do for the kits the first thing he had to do was ask for permission from their father so he spoke to sharp claw and asked if he could take the kits out for a adventure to get a view from the sky like the birds do and sharp claw agreed it was a wonderful idea as long as the as the kits were safe which clay said that would be easy as long as they stayed inside the packs he was carrying with him the kits climbed up into the bags easily for their ride and as clay got ready to fly he remembered to ask echo song if she would like to fly as well and she asked freckle wish if they were okay on there own to which the other medicine cat happily agreed and climbed inside the bag closet to clays face clay took off towards the sky which felt amazing to clays scales and the cats we're staring awestruck at the ground below them and the trees that looked like bushes on the ground and the cats down below looked like ants constantly scuttling around their hills and as clay flew through the sky he saw a bunch of tiny buildings which looked like a toy village that a dragonets might have so clay decided to go down for a closer look and as he got closer he heard echo mist mention something called a two leg place and clay wondered what a two leg was and why echo mist and the kits were scared of them and as clay landed on a big black strip with flashing lights a creature almost as big as he was with two holes on the wings with swirling blades inside them almost ran into him only for clay to swerve around it at the last second and a group of at least one hundred creatures that looked similar to monkeys but no fur except for the top of their heads and they were wearing orange pelts with white stripes black paw covers on their front paws and a small black box in the pockets of the orange pelts and as the monkey got closer clay remembered that these creatures looked just like how scavengers had always been described by their minders and clay thought quickly and asked echo mist and the kits would you like to see something cool and when all the cats answered yes he opened his mouth and let out a ball of fire out of his mouth which scared off all of the scavengers and quickly took off into the sky again heading towards the gorge and the safety for his passengers as he flew back towards the gorge he noticed a place with a bunch of fallen trees he noticed a claw which took up a bunch of the trees and led them to a blade which was cutting them right down the centers echo mist called this place tree cut place which clay did not like one little bit why do the scavengers need so much wood for any way when the flying creature place didn't use any tree stuff but as clay got closer he noticed that there were whole nest made of the fallen trees beside a long strip of black stuff which seemed strange to clay with a bunch of small creatures going along it which echo mist called a thunder path which seemed strange to clay how can thunder follow a path and they saw a small island where four strange cats when clay touched down the new cat's cowered in fear and said are the two legs back to kill us said a pale golden tabby she cat with amber eyes calm down speckle tail said a pure white she cat with sky blue eyes sorry said clay didn't mean to scare you but would you mind telling us what happened here no problem my name is frost fur said the pure white femaleness cat we used to be a part of thunder clan but our home got destroyed by two legs to make this thunder path that sounds awful said echo mist and with that clay asked would you like to come with us to sky clan and all four of the cats agreed and climbed up clays back who got down as close to the ground ground as he could and as clay got close to the gorge he felt something wasn't right the first thing he noticed were two male cats he hadn't met before one had a copper color fur coat which looked like a pile of fallen leaves in autumn the other was a scrawny pale ginger Tom with jagged claws mangy knotted fur and one yellow eye clay didn't like the look of these two cats and echo mist was making her fur stand up on end and talking about something called Tom and one eye but the strangest thing was a new dragon that clay had never seen before he had ebony scales and midnight black wings except for a line of silver scales on the spot where his wings met his body and a teardrop silver scale on the outward corner of each of his dark eyes with long twisted horns and a narrow face the dragon than introduced himself as dark stalker and then dark stalker flicked a stone at clay which harmlessly bounced off his chest dark stalker then stared at the stone in confusion and roared with anger why didn't it work it was supposed to pierce through the mud wings scales and killed him then he seemed to remember something he forgotten my scroll of course I forgot my scroll so for the time being I have to finish you off with my bare claws and then flung himself at clay who easily flung dark stalker away apparently you're out of practice clay yelled to dark stalker but then dark stalker opened his mouth and and blasted a line of ice towards clay and now the silver scales on dark stalker's wings made sense to clay he must be a ice wing but he had never seen a black ice wing before dark stalker looked more like a night wing to clay which to him meant only one of two things either he had painted his scales to look like a night wing or his parents must have broken the laws of pyria by mating and giving birth to a hybrid clay might be stronger as a mud wing and have more experience in a fight thanks to kestrel's training but he was unprepared for dealing with a hybrid like dark stalker according to the history lessons he had been taught the ice wings and night wings hated each other with a passion and if clay could guess dark stalker had something to do with it but before he could ask dark stalker the hybrid got Tom and one eye on his back and flew off towards the sun set with the problem gone clay and the cats headed back to the gorge and home once they reached the cave of moss sharp claw and fidget flake we're waiting for them along with fluffy gold and black cat with a white chest who sharp claw introduced as his mate and the mother of the kits cherry tail and she started grooming the kits while they were telling her about their adventure with clay and seeing Tom one eye and describing dark stalker well that sounds like quite the adventure said cherry tail now it's time for you to be heading back towards our nest for a well deserved nap now that sounds like a good idea said a voice clay had never heard before then clay turned around to see a pale cream and brown cat with a long brown tail a scar between her forelegs and amber eyes all of the cats seemed to be in awe of this cat so clay assumed she must be the clans queen clay had never met any of the queens of Pyria but the minders had always said that you couldn't trust them as far as you could throw them but something from this cat seemed to be calming to him and if his new friends could trust her so could he and then he noticed two other cats behind her one was light gray with blue eyes the other was a golden brown she cat with a white chest and paws and green eyes the new Tom spoke and clay remembered his voice from the night before it was sky star the first leader of sky clan and he was rubbing his head against the golden brown she cats chest so clay assumed that she was his mate and then the pale cream she cat came up to clay and introduced herself as leaf star the newest leader of sky clan to which sky star breathed a sigh of relief and said at least that's a load off of my shoulders I don't think I could lead the clan through this problem and be leader of the clan as well and the female cat stifled a purr in her throat now dear you know you were a excellent leader maybe not the best but you were adequate for a leader with no mentor and that sounded More impressive to clay than anything the queens of pyria currently do now he had a deeper respect for sky star who now asked to be called clear sky and then a new Tom who clay didn't know talking to echo song about something he had thick yellow fur with a long tail and green eyes to clay's surprise echo song seemed to know him since the two were talking like old friends to which echo song explained to clay that the Tom was the first medicine cat of sky clan named Micah who was her mentor with in star clan back when sky clan first started thanks to a Tom called fire star of thunder clan because she had no mentor speckle tail came up to echo song and asked you've met fire star and all of the cats except for fidget flake and the kits said yes we have met fire star he is responsible for sky clan's restoration now and speckled tail said yes he was our leader as well in thunder clan now clay wanted to meet fire star because he sounded like a very strong and confident leader that he could learn quite a bit from but he was quickly brought out of his thoughts by clear sky who mentioned that they needed a way to the new home of the clans so they can find the dog of city of thunder the owl smith of the river the vixen of shadow and the dire wolf of the wind to which clay had a great idea if all of the clan could climb into the bags of the saddle on his back which could easily fit ten cats comfortably and asked if all the cats could try to fit inside his pouch which all of the cats agreed to and they came to the realization that six would be the better number to fit comfortably which was a great relief to sharp claw and cherry tail because it meant that each of their kittens and themselves could travel together in one pouch and echo song and Micha were able to fit all the herbs they use along with them selves inside another and then leaf star called the clan together around the medicine cat den for a clan meeting even kittens and their mothers showed up to listen to the clan leaders words to which every cats was surprised by because usually the kittens stayed in the nursery and didn't come out until they were six moons old when clay saw the kittens he was shocked by how small and cute they looked and then leaf star spoke again and said cats of sky clan the time has come for us to leave our home in the gorge is now we have lived our life separate from the other clans for too long and our newest member clay the mud wing dragonet will help us reach our new territory now line up into pairs that get along of six or fewer so we can organize you for our trip as leaf star finished speaking the cats arranged themselves for the journey and a new Tom clay had never seen before came up beside leaf star with three kittens the Tom had long fur ginger and white in color with leaf green eyes and a broad face the first kit was a gray ginger female with amber eyes the second was a long furred long legged ginger she kit with green red eyes the last was a gray Tom with a pale underside and amber eyes leaf star introduced them as her mate Billy storm and their kits storm paw fire paw and harry paw and clay wished he could have a family like theirs any family would have been better than the minders in his opinion so he asked leaf star if he could speak before they left and leaf star as well as the rest of sky clan listened as clay explained his back story how he had never really had a family since his mother had traded him for a piece of prey which the whole clan was shocked by and all of the queens started volunteering to nurture him as a member of the clan and clay had already made up his mind on who should be his main mother and asked echo song if she could take him on as her kit and apprentice since he was interested in learning about the plants that she and fidget flake used and how they can be used to heal others to which echo song answered how could I refuse such a offer eagerly and clay had made his decision if any one was going to try to hurt his new family they would to do it over his dead body and as clay took off towards the sky their new home they failed to notice a group of cats watching them from the bushes just outside the gorge that was the former home of sky clan then a muscular glossy white furred Tom with black spots around his eyes were blue with a long tail and huge paws drat we just missed them he hissed how are we going to find our way to where the clans cats live now then a big long furred gray Tom with only one eye the other was covered by a pale piece of cloth and a bushy tail he quickly asked the other cat why he wanted to find the other clans to which the muscular cat responded with I have a question for you rain have you ever met your father to which the one eyed cat named rain answered with yes I have dark tail why are you asking to which the muscular cat dark tail answered well I haven't and almost pushed rain into a stream and then he picked up the one eyed cat's head as he was about to run out of air and then a new cat came out to join the other two this one was a female who was yellow long furred green eyes and a broad face asked dark tail what were you trying to do to rain drown him to which rain answered it was my fault I shouldn't have questioned our leader but as rain finished speaking the sky became usually dark for the time of day it was and a creature larger than anything the cats had ever seen before landed in the gorge below them it body was all black except for the underside of its wings which were purple with silver spots which the cats didn't notice until they got closer to it as well as it also had silver teardrop shapes close to its eyes and that there were two other cats riding it's back and then dark tail heard a voice he had never heard before and it came seemingly from nowhere and said I like your style and we seem to have a common enemy may I ask for your name you don't need to say it you just need to think it and I will hear you I have the ability to hear the thoughts of others and my name is dark stalker to which dark tail answered that's convenient because my name dark tail and these two are my found kin he gestured to the two cats beside him the males name is rain and the females name is dragon fly which got dark stalker to laugh and say well that's funny because I am a dragon and actually there are more of us answered dark tail it's nice to meet you dark stalker and I was wondering if you could take me and my kin to a new place to which dark stalker answered yes I would be delighted to I already know where they live now on one condition you give me the name of your father and agree to help a new friend of ours named tiger claw take over their home yes I agree said dark tail his name according to my mother was one whisker he was a small lean cat with pale brown fur amber fur and a scar behind one ear the only reason I have to guess is because when my mother took me to meet him he abandoned us when we tried to join his clan that sounds awful said dark stalker a lot like my back story except I had a sister who my father took away when can we leave asked dark tail immediately said dark stalker and without hesitation dark tail and his kin jumped onto dark stalker and started to fly to their next destination
