Christmas 2005 turned out to be one of the very best ones I've ever had in my whole life and I still think to this day that it was because this was the first Christmas I celebrated with my family since Mona and I broke up and also because Roxanne was celebrating it with us. I was also glad that she got to know the rest of my family – Sylvia's side – in Big Sky and also that she got on with them very well.
Roxanne and I had great Christmases in 1995 and 1996 while we had our wonderful relationship in Spoonerville, but this one in 2005 made us both feel that we could celebrate Christmas properly. The Christmases we celebrated in 1995 and 1996, she couldn't go to my house to celebrate with me and my dad because her dad forbid it and he forbid me to go to their house so I couldn't with her, but we managed to see each other on Christmas Eve to give presents to each other and then on December 27th to catch up, thank each other for our presents and tell them what kind of a Christmas they had.
We all had a very fun Christmas in 2005. On almost every day, we would go outside and have fun in the snow. We would ski, snowboard, sleigh, ice-skate, ride snowmobiles, build snowmen and make snow angels among the awesome activities anyone can do in the snow. Speaking of 'can do', Roxanne never learnt to do anything of that stuff, apart from making snow angels and making snowmen at her home, which were the only two things her dad would let her in the snow in her garden and she wasn't very good at it – those are her own words, not mine, but I have to take her word for it because I've never seen them due to her dad forbidding me to ever go into their house or their garden – and the ice-skating I taught her to help her and her ex-boyfriend Jeremy win the 2005 Spoonerville College Ice Skating Competition. With my encouragement and my coaching, she decided to give skiing, snowboarding, sleighing and the snowmobiles a try. After a few tries of skiing, snowboarding and driving snowmobiles, she felt like it wasn't really for her and she decided not to carry on with them, but she was grateful for the chance to try them and I was proud of her for giving them a go. She did enjoy sleighing, riding the snowmobiles behind me as I drove them, making snow angels, building snowmen and doing more ice-skating with me and my family.
Roxanne also enjoyed doing the Christmas games with me and my family. She didn't know how to play the games before she and her dad never played them together, so she was nervous about them at first, but she did very well when she tried them each for the first time and she had fun doing it. And the more we played them, the more confident she became and the more we all had fun playing them.
Then the actual Christmas Day 2005 arrived. After a delicious breakfast cooked by my dad and Sylvia, it was time to open the presents. Before we started, we all apologized to Roxanne for not getting her any Christmas presents because we didn't have time to buy her anything.
"But you all already have given me a Christmas present," she told us. "And the best Christmas present ever."
"What's that?" we all asked her.
"Letting me celebrate Christmas with you," she told me. "This is the best Christmas I've ever had in my whole life and celebrating it with you guys is what's making it the very best."
What she said really touched us all. Then we opened our presents. I was very grateful for my presents and my family were all very grateful for the presents I gave them. Roxanne didn't mind watching us open presents and she even helped to open my sisters Hannah's presents, which she enjoyed doing.
While my dad and Sylvia went to get the Christmas dinner ready, Roxanne and I looked after Hannah and played with some of her new toys which she enjoyed playing a lot. Then my phone rang a lot. It was my best friends PJ, Lucy, Bobby, Stacey, Lauren and Lisa ringing to wish me a very merry Christmas and I wished them and my godchildren a very merry one right back. Then I told them I had a Christmas surprise for them and that surprise was me giving my phone to Roxanne so she can speak to them and wish them a very merry Christmas. It was the first time in eight years she spoke to them, so it made her very happy to speak to them and ask them what they had been up to, especially Stacey. While she spoke to our friends, I played with Hannah and her new toys.
Soon, the Christmas dinner was ready. Everything about it was wonderful. The turkey, the roast potatoes, the carrots, the parsnips, the turkey gravy, the cranberry sauce, the Brussel sprouts, the pigs in blanket, everything looked and tasted delicious. My dad and Sylvia did an amazing job with the dinner like they always do. This was also the best Christmas dinner Roxanne ever had in her life. Before this one, all the Christmas dinners she had were either chickens and fries with her dad or table scraps from Hugo and his family's dinner when she lived in San Fiesta, so this one was the very best one she had in her whole life and she was very grateful for it. Then it was time for the Christmas desserts, which were Christmas puddings and chocolate yule logs and they were all delicious. And we all enjoyed pulling crackers and telling jokes from them, which was again Roxanne never experienced with her dad in San Fiesta. Because my dad and Sylvia cooked the meal, I took care of the washing up and Roxanne helped me. I didn't ask her to, but she insisted so she helped by drying up what I washed up.
For the rest of the day, we played a lot of Christmas games and watched some great Christmas movies on TV. Then it was time for us to go to bed.
"So, you really had a great Christmas, Roxanne?" I asked when we were in our room.
"Oh, Max, I really can't thank you and your family enough for the best Christmas ever in my whole life," she cried happily, as she hugged me.
I hugged her back.
Then she kissed me on the lips.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," she said. "I was just –"
"It's okay, Roxanne," I said. "That was a lovely kiss." Then I kissed her back. "The only problem is there's no mistletoe."
"Who needs mistletoe?" Roxanne asked. "All I need is you." Then she kissed me again.
All this surprising kissing gave me an idea to how we could give each other a Christmas present before the day was over – we have sex in our bed, but we still keep on underwear while we do it. Roxanne liked the idea and we went for it. It was something we both wanted to do while in high school, but we couldn't because she had to move with Texas with her dad before we had a chance. When we finally did it, this was a dream come true for the both of us and it was the best Christmas present I got from that day.
Roxanne and I continued to have sex every night while we were in our bed after a fun day with my family either playing games in the house or playing in the snow. Every time we had our special fun, we were just viewed it as comfort sex instead of trying to start a brand-new relationship. But it did us both some good. It helped Roxanne get over Jeremy and this is the first sex I've had since Mona betrayed me and this was helping me get over her too.
Roxanne and I stayed in Big Sky until January 2nd 2006. After an amazing start to the New Year of 2006, where Roxanne and I with my family joined all the people in Big Sky to count down to 2006 and wished everyone a very happy New Year, it was time for us to go back to Spoonerville and get ready for college in the new year. So we said goodbye to my family and thanked them once again for an amazing Christmas and then they drove back to my house. Once we arrived back and unpacked our suitcases, we had dinner, which was a chicken casserole, and then we went to bed and we had more sex. We continued to do this every night until the night when Roxanne had to go back to her dorm room.
On the day before college resumed in 2006, I was going to my office to get it ready and I drove Roxanne so she could get her dorm room ready and to catch up with her best friends.
"Thank you so much for an amazing Christmas and New Year, Max," Roxanne said, as we got out of the car.
"And thank you for making this Christmas an awesome one, too, Roxanne," I said.
Then she hugged me and I hugged her back. Then she even kissed me on the cheek.
"Well, see you around, Max," she said, as she headed to her dorm room.
"Yeah," I said. "See you around, Roxanne." Then I went to my office to get it ready.
