Might not be the best chapter I've written, but I was kind of sick, and college projects and work can make one depressed...
Agasa Hiroshi's Residence,
"Ohayo! Agasa-Hakase.", Masumi greeted once the door was opened by its owner; Professor Agasa Hiroshi.
"Oh!... Ohayo… Sera was it?", Agasa said surprised once he saw Masumi before he invited her in as she nodded.
"Sera Masumi, that's me.", She smiled at him before she felt someone glaring at the back of her head. She turned around, and her emerald, green eyes met dark blue eyes.
"What are you doing here?", Haibara Ai held back a snarl.
Masumi remained silent as she remembered what Shinichi had told her about Haibara. She was Sherry, real name Miyano Shiho, creator of the APTX 4869.
Her maternal cousin.
Masumi knew very well she couldn't be direct with Haibara instantly, but she had to win her over before she could have her mother and Haibara meet. Shinichi himself agreed with her on that point, and he said he will help her indirectly.
But now, Masumi could tell that Haibara knew who she was, and she wasn't happy with her presence.
Masumi placed her hands in her pants pockets as she said with a smile, "I'm here for Conan-kun.".
"To pester him again?", Haibara cut back making Agasa stand between both girls somewhat nervous.
"Now Ai-kun, this isn't the way we treat our guests.", Agasa said.
"No, she has a point Hakase. I was incredibly annoying with Conan-kun.", Masumi said before she looked back at Haibara, "But I apologized, and we now have a mutual understanding.".
'Mutual understanding?', Haibara thought suspiciously just as Conan walked outside Agasa's lab, his skateboard under his arm.
"Relax Haibara. Everything is fine between Sera-neechan and me.", Conan assured before his eyes widened just as Masumi's smile fell and was replaced by a cold look.
All because of the man Agasa opened the door for once he knocked.
"Gomen, Hakase. I know you wanted to speak to me, and I was late.", Okiya Subaru said friendly as he walked in before he noticed Masumi, who hadn't turned around.
"Wha…", Agasa trailed off once he noticed the look Okiya gave him making him answer nervously, "Ah yes! You gave me something that was broken and you wanted me to fix it.".
"Oh Sera-san, was it?", Okiya asked once he noticed Masumi, making her grit her teeth.
'How dare he… How dare he continue his role with me… Kichi-nii knows… And Mama most likely deduced it… but they all keep me in the dark.', Masumi thought angrily, 'Even Kudo didn't tell me the truth. I know it's him… Why else did he carry me on the train? Or visit me after the sniper shot me? He acts too much like him…'.
"Sera-neechan?", Conan asked worriedly once he saw Masumi silent and shaking in literal anger. And he knew why. Masumi wasn't stupid, so he wouldn't be surprised if she figured out who Okiya was, especially since she was very close to him.
Her eldest brother; Akai Shuichi.
Okiya just remained silent, but deep down, he wanted nothing more but to tell her the truth. But she was just a kid, even if she was a detective, and he didn't want her involved in this by any means.
Masumi took a deep breath, calming herself down before she slowly turned to Okiya, still glaring at him.
"Yeah. Hi Okiya-san.", She nearly snarled as she started walking out. Once she was next to Okiya, she elbowed him hard in the side, making him grimace. "Bye Okiya-san.", She said as she left the house.
Conan remained frozen in his place from the tension that had just happened in front of him. Agasa was completely confused while Haibara raised her eyebrow in interest before she slightly smirked.
'Well, at least she dislikes that guy too.', She thought.
"Come on Conan-kun.", Masumi called from outside as she mounted her bike and put on her helmet.
Conan snapped out and said, "Hai!". Haibara stopped him before moving as she asked, "Since when were you and her friends?".
"We had a chance to talk properly days ago, so we are good friends now. Don't worry, she isn't dangerous… to us at least.", He said before he ran outside the house, not missing Okiya's look at him before staring at Masumi.
Masumi started her bike and drove away from Agasa's house, Conan following behind on his skateboard.
Masumi parked her bike in a nearby garage just as Conan asked, "What was that about?".
Masumi slightly glared at him, "Take a good guess.".
Conan just sighed, "So how did you figure out about Akai-san?".
"His body built. I saw him when he visited me at the hospital after the sniper shot me, the same as when he saved me from Vermouth. In both situations, I barely opened my eyes. Why would a stranger care about me? He acts a lot like him except he is much more friendly. Also, I once saw Starling and Camel in Poirot Café, so I sat near them, and they were talking about him. I recorded the conversation and made Mama hear it. I deduced that he was alive from it, but Mama refused to answer, Kichi-nii avoided meeting me since I arrived and avoided talking about him. So, both know, but no one bothered to tell me.", Masumi ranted before she cursed.
"I hate how they treat me like a kid! I hate it when they lie to me! I already knew about the Organization, and I've faced cases before, so give me some respect!", Masumi cried.
"You seem to have a huge issue with lying.", Conan noticed. Masumi sighed heavily as she sat on her bike.
"You know, as a detective, I would hide my face using a hat, so no one exactly knows me as you or Hattori. And since Mama trained me to death before allowing me, no one exactly knew who I was. 3 years ago… when I was 15. I came across a case of human trafficking, children.", Masumi said making Conan grimace at the last sentence.
"I did my investigations but not alone, there was a police officer who was helping me. He was the only officer who believed in me. After many weeks, I found out where they kept the remaining living kids, since I had found 5 dead bodies before, and four of the group. There were 2 girls. There were 2 guards with guns, I fought them and knocked them out, but I had several heavy bruises. That officer arrived and I told him "There are kids in there". The girls were trapped inside a cupboard. Do you know what he said once he got close?", Masumi said, and Conan just shook his head slowly.
""Okay, Girls, I'm here. I'll open the cupboard, so both of you can come out."', She snarled making Conan look at her in disbelief, deducing what his words meant.
"He was one of them?!", Conan cried.
Masumi closed her eyes as she recalled that moment. "Yes… I figured it out and told him "I never told you they were girls nor 2", as I grabbed a nearby gun that belonged to one of the guards. He guessed that I caught him so turned around and attempted to grab his gun, but I had already aimed the gun at him.", She said.
"You killed him?", Conan said with a low voice in disbelief.
"I emptied the magazine in his chest. Out of anger, he was a police officer but did what he did, kidnapping young girls and even raping them, and helping in his fellow criminals in hiding the evidence.", Masumi spat in disgust before she looked at Conan, "And I felt ashamed. How can I call myself a detective when I fell easily for that man's act? I bet you anything that Kichi-nii, Shu-nii, and Mama would've never fallen for it.".
Masumi stared at the ground, allowing the silence to linger, but Conan decided to break it.
"How do you know?", He asked making her look at him confused before she became sad.
"Because they are all better than me… Everyone admires them…", She pointed out before she said lowly, "Some of Mama's MI6 colleagues saw me a as a disgrace because I wasn't a prodigy like my brothers…. Sometimes… I think… that Mama would've been happier with Shuichi and Shukichi only.".
Conan glared at Masumi. How dare she think so little of herself?! He stepped hard on her right foot making her yelp in pain before cursing Conan.
"OW! What the hell Kudo?!", She cried as rubbed her foot.
"Don't you dare say stupid things like that again. You're lucky Sonoko and Ran aren't here, or else they would've beat you hard.", Conan cried catching Masumi off guard.
"I have been around Akai-san enough to know that he loves you, but I don't really know about Haneda-meijin and your mother.", Conan pointed out before he said seriously, "But I do know this. You are my friend and I care about you. Same goes for Ran, Sonoko, Heiji, and Makoto. Hell, even Makiba and Kazama are interested in becoming your friends!".
Masumi's eyes widened, affected, and moved deeply by Conan's words. Especially since he and Ran are technically her first friends ever. She smiled a bit as she said, "You've always had a way with words, Wizard.".
"I can't believe you called me Wizard just because I made your brother laugh.", Conan scoffed before he shrugged, "But considering his attitude, I can understand that.".
Their watches then started beeping. Both activated the Neomatrix to answer the call.
"A cloning robot monster is attacking Beika city, near Bell Tree Tower, the other Rangers have already arrived at the scene.", Kaiden said through the communicator, "I'll teleport you there right now.".
"We are ready, Kaiden.", Conan said before he and Masumi were teleported in their respective colored lights.
Both were unaware of a red car that was parked nearby, the only car and its driver was still inside.
Okiya Subaru held his phone to see the location of his tracker device. He had placed a tracker on Masumi's bike when he saw it parked outside Agasa's house. He then discreetly followed her and Conan into the garage, and parked nearby so he couldn't be seen, but at the same time, could hear everything.
He was feeling mixed emotions right now. He'd heard from Masumi about this case, but she'd never told him before about her feelings and dark thoughts. That was something he was concerned about. On the other hand, he was extremely proud. Not only did she figure out his identity, but his little sister turned out to be one of those Power Rangers.
'Bell Tree tower… Let's see what you've got Masumi.', He thought as he started the engine of his car, and texted someone on his phone.
Mary Sera sat on the couch in the hotel room, sipping her tea as she watched the news, about the robot monsters that were attacking near Bell Tree tower. She looked down at the table once she heard her phone's notification ring.
She held it and read the message she received from Masumi. "Something came up! Conan-kun and I will see you later!", She read out loud before raising an eyebrow. She put the phone back on the table as she watched the news, now seeing that the Power Rangers had arrived.
'So that Kudo is just like you Masumi.', Mary thought as she sipped her tea. 'I wonder when will you tell me everything.'.
"Helloooo!", A screeching-like voice cried as the Gridnoids vandalized anything around. The monster was a feminine humanoid robot, wearing a tall green dress, long sharp black fingernails, with snakes as hair.
"Are you Earthlings excited to meet me?!", She screeched.
"Have ya looked in da mirror?!". The monster looked around to see the Blue, Yellow, and Black Rangers, holding their weapons, and dealing with the Gridnoids.
"1. 2. 3.", She counted with her fingers before she screeched, "Hey! Where are the other two Rangers?!".
"On the way, but once they arrive, you might need help.", Ran said as she stabbed a Gridnoid with her spear.
"I'll handle her first.", Makoto said as he charged with his axe.
Makoto swung his axe at the monster but she would jump back away from the hit. She hissed as the robot snakes in her hair charged towards Makoto.
The Black Ranger jumped back avoiding her attack. Taking the chance of his distraction. The robot's eyes glowed red, and once Makoto looked her in the eyes, he turned into a stone statue.
Ran and Heiji, who were just done with the group of Gridnoids surrounding them, gasped, "MAKOTO!/KYOGOKU!".
The robot monster laughed before she motioned behind her, for Ran and Heiji to then notice, that many civilians turned into stone statues just like Makoto.
"Haven't you seen my beautiful collection?!", She screeched, "I think I'll name it, Medusa's First Earth Statues!".
"You won't be getting away with this.", Ran snarled as she and Heiji charged towards Medusa. Medusa's fingernails extended, becoming 10 long blades, and she blocked both Heiji and Ran's attacks.
"Do you want to know what will happen if I destroy a statue?!", She screeched making both Rangers go pale, understanding exactly what it means.
"We will destroy ya before ya do dat!", Heiji cried as he and Ran swung their weapons at her.
Medusa jumped back again, but this time, she divided herself into several clones, forming a circle around Heiji and Ran.
"Welcome to my collection!", They screeched as all of their eyes glowed red, turning Heiji and Ran into stone statues.
At the same time, Shinichi and Masumi, now morphed, and holding their weapons, arrived.
"EVERYONE!", They both chorused as they ran towards their friends.
"Don't worry, you will be joining them soon!", The Medusa clones cried.
"If she is anything like the Medusa Legend, then we can't look her in the eyes, any of them.", Shinichi said as he tightened his grip on his scythe, anger boiling in his blood at the sight of Ran as a statue.
"Agreed.", Masumi nodded as she and Shinichi clashed with two Medusa clones that had charged towards them.
Both clones' eyes glowed red, but Shinichi and Masumi were looking at their limbs instead, as they both swung their weapons diagonally, cutting both clones into halves. They looked hopeful at the statues, but they were still the same.
"We need to destroy the real one!", Masumi cried as she clashed with two clones this time.
Shinichi was about to respond but he heard crying. He turned behind him and saw a seven-year-old boy crying next to two statues, his parents. Shinichi then saw a Medusa clone walking towards the boy.
"No…", He whispered before he ran towards the boy. He jumped high, holding his scythe up, and swung it sideways as he landed, cutting the robot into two equal parts before he rushed towards the boy.
"Go hide now!", He cried pushing the boy away. The boy, still crying, stood up quickly and ran away.
Shinichi then turned around, to find himself face to face with another clone, eyes glowing red.
And Shinichi turned into a statue too.
Masumi, who had just finished the two clones she was facing, froze in her place. All her friends were turned into statues, and that only left her against 7 Medusas.
"Only 1 Ranger left, and I'll complete my collection to Akuma-sama.", All Medusas screeched.
Masumi knelt, feeling useless and unable to do anything. 'What would Shu-nii, Kichi-nii, or Mama would do?... What would Papa do?', She thought in desperation before she clenched her glaive tightly, 'What would I do?'.
Inside Bell Tree Tower, the people were using the telescope to watch everything with worried looks. But on the top floor of the tower, Haneda Shukichi observed worriedly through his binoculars.
"Masumi… What are you doing Niisan?!", Shukichi asked the man beside him. Okiya had dropped the bag he wore over his shoulder opened it and started getting his sniper rifle ready.
"There is no way I'm letting Masumi turn into a statue.", Okiya snarled.
Back in the hotel room, Mary clenched her fists tightly as she watched the news, cursing herself for being practically useless in her shrunken form.
"Come on, Masumi.", She mumbled.
Masumi remained in her position, frozen without a single movement. A Medusa clone approached her as she screeched, "Did you turn into stone alone or what?".
Once the statue was close enough, its eyes glowed red.
"If you just look into my eyes, it will all be over.", She screeched. Masumi slowly raised her head, but her glaive was raised in a position for the blade to cover her eyes, and the other side of the blade to reflect Medusa's glowing eyes.
The clone yelped before it turned into a statue, shocking the other clones.
"WHAT?!", They screeched as Masumi punched the clone in the chest crushing it into pieces of rocks. She swung her glaive, sending gusts of wind that threw the rocks towards the remaining six Medusas.
The Medusas avoided the rocks easily but once they looked back, Masumi was no longer in her place.
A few seconds passed before an air bullet hit a clone in its head, destroying it.
The remaining five Medusas looked around alarmed at the buildings above.
"Where did that come from?!", One of them screeched, before an air bullet pierced its red core from behind, leaving four.
On top of one of the buildings, Masumi used her wind power to give herself a boost to jump, high enough to not be seen by the robots, onto the building across. Before positioning herself swiftly with her sniper rifle, and fired an air bullet again, hitting another Medusa in its red core, destroying it, and leaving only three Medusas.
'You messed with the wrong ranger.', She thought with a predatory smirk, the adrenaline rushing through her veins.
The three Medusas stood back to back, searching around frantically for the Pink Ranger. A few moments passed and the three robots collapsed.
"She probably ran out of bullets or ran away.", One clone said as it stood right next to another clone.
And an air bullet pierced through its head, from the right side, then pierced the other clone's head, eliminating the last two clones.
The real Medusa turned around to see the last clones eliminated but no place for the Pink Ranger.
The robot monster then felt a muzzle touching its head.
"This is for my friends, bitch.", Masumi snarled before she fired the air bullet, exploding Medusa's head, and the body fell lifeless on the ground.
At the same moment, everyone that turned into a statue was freed, with the civilians wondering what happened, and some of them embracing their loved ones. The little boy that Shinichi saved, came running back to hug his parents.
Everyone back on Bell Tree tower cheered while Shukichi let out a huge sigh.
"That was close.", He said as he wiped his forehead before he noticed Okiya smiling.
"Masumi did grow up quickly, didn't she Shukichi?", He asked. Shukichi smiled at his brother, understanding his meaning.
"Yeah, she did, but what else did you expect? She is an Akai after all.", Shukichi replied.
Mary let out a sigh as she rested her back on the couch.
"Did you really have to make me that worried?", She complained before a rare warm smile appeared on her face, "Well done, Masumi.".
"You guys okay?!", Shinichi asked as he regrouped with Heiji, Ran, and Makoto.
"Wait, if ya were turned into a statue too, then dat means…", Heiji trailed off as Masumi approached them, resting her sniper rifle on her shoulder.
"Yeah, I saved you all.", Masumi smiled, only to get a hug from Ran.
"I'm not surprised, you are pretty amazing Masumi!", Ran complimented as she let go of her best friend.
"See what I mean?", Shinichi asked Masumi making her nod while the other three looked at them quizzically.
"Masumi thought she was unimportant, and that her family would be better without her, but I did knock some sense into her.", Shinichi explained.
"Good, or else I would've knocked da sense inta her, da hard way.", Heiji said making Masumi roll her eyes.
The Rangers' talk was interrupted by a screech. They looked up, to see Medusa now a large robot monster.
"Savage Zords, Unleash!".
"Zords Combine!".
Before Medusa could screech, the Megazord ran towards her, with both Neo Strikers in dagger form, and stabbed both of her eyes.
"MY EYES!", Medusa screeched as the Megazord pulled the daggers back.
"Did you honestly think we were going to give you a chance?", Masumi mocked.
Medusa continued screeching loudly as she covered her eyes. The Megazord changed the Neo Striker into blade form before it started swinging it into different directions.
It first cut off its right arm, then its left, before it cut off its head. The Megazord swung the blade in an X shape, cutting Medusa's remaining body into said shape, before it exploded, marking the Rangers' victory.
"That was fast.", Makoto noted.
"What? did ya want ta turn ta stone again just so we could have a longer battle?", Heiji asked annoyed.
"You do make a good point.", Makoto replied.
"Savage Rangers, victory is ours.", Shinichi said as the Megazord, once again, posed with both swords.
"Where have you been?", Mary asked once Masumi walked into the hotel room, but said girl left the door slightly open.
"Something quick came up, but it's all over.", Masumi shrugged.
"Where is the boy?", Mary asked.
Masumi then became sad. "Gomenasai, Mama. I couldn't bring him. I failed again. I must have made you disappointed, considering how useless I can be.", She mumbled making Mary frown.
"If you say that again, You're grounded.", Mary threatened as she sat on the couch, "You could never disappoint me. You and your brothers are the best thing that had ever happened to you really think if I thought you were useless, I would let you continue being a Detective?", She said making Masumi smile warmly.
"Well, I never thought I would hear Kaasan say that, nor see her shrunken honestly.". Masumi's eyes widened as she swiftly turned around. It wasn't just Conan who walked in, but Shukichi and Okiya too.
"He placed a tracking device on your bike, and he prevented me from telling you as we entered.", Conan said pointing at Okiya.
Mary raised her eyebrows for a second in surprise at seeing her elder son then she looked at Okiya from up to down before saying in a grimace, "Pink hair, really Shuichi?".
Okiya deactivated the voice changer on his neck before opening his emerald green eyes.
"No one would think it's me under it.", Akai Shuichi said in his real voice.
Suddenly, Masumi charged towards Shuichi, punching him hard in the gut, and making him slightly groan.
"S-Sera!", Conan cried in disbelief as he tried to move to push her but Shukichi placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry. Siblings solve their problems that way.", He said with a way too friendly smile.
Masumi knew that Shuichi could've avoided her hit, but he let her hit him, making her more angrier.
"How could you?! How could you make me believe you were dead?!", She cried as she punched him again but this time he held her fist.
"I thought I had gone crazy thinking you were alive when no evidence would show up early on!", Masumi growled, "Do I mean nothing to you that much!?".
"You mean everything to me, and you know that.", Shuichi replied calmly as he smiled, "After all, you are my sister who exposed a human trafficking group, my sister who solved numerous cases since she was a kid, my sister who figured out the truth about my death. You did everything, all alone.".
'And defeated a robot monster all alone, Pink Ranger.', He thought proudly.
Masumi's disappeared with every word, before being replaced by an emotional look, with a few tears escaping her eyes. "Shu-nii…", She mumbled before she hugged her eldest brother tightly.
"I have missed you too, Masumi.", Shuichi said as he returned the hug.
Conan sweat dropped at how the scene changed. 'Weirdest family reunion I've ever seen.', He thought.
Everyone sat on the couches, Conan next to Shuichi and Shukichi, while Masumi sat next to her mother, with Conan explaining his story again, but this time, explaining how they faked Shuichi's death, and Bourbon's real identity. He also told them about Haibara's real identity, and how Masumi told him that they were related.
"Next time I see Furuya, I will punch him in the face.", Masumi mumbled under her breath making Shukichi chuckle nervously.
"Take it easy, Masumi.", He said.
'I fear for that man's life.', He thought, believing Masumi could take him down.
Shuichi was silent. When Akemi knew about his mission, he immediately told her, after finding out about her family, that they were cousins. And he promised her, that he would save her and sister from the Organization.
But he couldn't keep his promise…
Mary clenched the couch beneath her tightly, while keeping a blank face expression. After many years, she now knows what happened to her nieces. But one of them was dead, and the other helped make the poison, forced to be an evil scientist.
Mary swore, at this moment, that she wouldn't rest until she saw those who killed her sister and brother-in-law burn into ashes.
"So what will be our next step?", Conan asked, snapping Mary out of her thoughts.
"I'll try getting close to Haibara, before we fill her in on everything.", Masumi said.
"I think you and Kaasan should start living with me, instead of the hotels.", Shukichi said.
"So all that she has are temporary antidotes?", Mary asked Conan.
"Ah. She hasn't succeeded in making a complete antidote yet.", Conan lied, "But I'll ask her about it when I see her again.".
Haibara sneezed as she opened with the key the locked drawer in her room.
Her eyes widened once she saw that the only complete antidote she succeeded in making was gone. The box was empty above the papers.
She grabbed the box and eyed it in disbelief.
'Impossible! I swear I put it here!', She thought as she searched all the drawers, then she searched everywhere in her room.
She stood in the middle of the room before her eyes narrowed. There was only one person who could've entered this room without her knowing, and would definitely benefit from the antidote.
