"Can we wait until Monday to do the test," Marie asked.
Chris paused. He then decided that would be alright. After all, it was only Friday.
"Sure," he said, "Now do you want to go to bed now or in ½ an hour?"
"If I go to bed now can I get two stories," Marie asked.
Chris nodded with a smile.
Marie got ready for bed. Chris read her Sleeping Beauty and then Rapunzel. Soon after Annie and Chris got ready for bed.
"Good night honey," Annie said to Chris.
Chris kissed her goodnight. They fell asleep. Annie woke up at 1:43 in the morning.
"Chris," she said whispering, "I think something's wrong. My stomach and my back hurt horribly."
Chris woke up.
"When did that start," he asked.
"About a minute ago," she answered.
Chris put his hand on her stomach. It felt very hard. He tugged at her pajama pants. He saw a baby in her pajama pants.
"What is it," Annie asked worriedly.
"It's a boy," Chris replied grinning.
"What? Are you saying I just had a baby?"
"You did," Chris grinned.
She delivered the placenta after a couple of minutes. Chris cleaned his son up and cleaned up his wife. He then handed the baby to Annie.
"He's perfect," Chris remarked.
"What should we call him," Annie wondered aloud.
Chris smiled.
"How about Ian Zack," he suggested, "You once said if we ever had a son that's what you want to name him."
"That's perfect," Annie said.
Nanny's phone rang at 2:37 AM.
"Chris?"
"Nanny it's me," Chris replied, "Annie just had a new baby. We have to go to the hospital to make sure he's alright and to take care of Annie. Could you come over and watch Marie for a little while. We'll pay you for the whole day of course."
