This first time was a Friday night because there hadn't been much paperwork to finish off. She opened the door wearing leggings and a racerback top with no sleeves. She was flushed and panting and had a glass of water in her hands. It was oddly personal in a way Eddie had not considered when he insisted on coming to her place.
"Almost forgot about this" she said, taking a sip of water and not bothering to hide her amusement.
"What's this, running?"
"Yep" she said curtly.
"Of course" he decided making a 'Miss Perfect' comment would be childish and far from his best work, so opted for a roll of his eyes instead.
"Problem?" she looked too confident. Perhaps she knew this was a ridiculous idea and was going to wait patiently until he admitted it.
"Course not. Here" he handed her the files.
"Thank you, Mr Lawson. Much obliged" she smiled. It was a smile she kept giving him. One that he wasn't quite sure was genuine or calculated. She seemed to want to win him round, like she was consciously putting effort into being patient, waiting for him to join her side. It was irritating and yet he couldn't stop himself feeling helpless.
She would win him round, she already had.
"Have a good weekend" he said, abruptly turning and not waiting for a reply.
